And the new name is...

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Been gone for awhile but very grateful that Dave's remain's Dave!

Shangshui, Henan, China(Zone 7b)

I've been with Dave's Garden since 2001. Frankly speaking, DG has rooted in my heart.
If the name was changed into a new one, it will be likely to hurt DGers' the feelings more or less, I think. and besides, DG is getting along fairly well. So I say, 'Forget it'.
And again, I think changing 'garden' into a plural form would be better. It helps people think of Dave's Gardens are gardens of flowers, of vegetables, of herbs, of fruits; Gardens international from America to New Zealand; Gardens for the old, for the young, for the disabled...

San Jacinto County, TX(Zone 8a)

Speaking of DG;
Back in Feb 04 when I sign up, I always thought of DG as [Daves World Wide Garden] because I thought then as I think now! Its truly a WWW garden.

However, I found this heah place through search.
Each year this Thing Happens. I can't get in because I'm not a member.
Woops, what? This darn computer! Haha lol; pay your dues 'ol son.
[Ya know, $00.04 cents a day, jus over I think seems like I'm stealing!]

The however however; I think its much to late to change tha name.
Thanks for all the enjoyment, folks from around tha world. Your comments & pictures.

When I want something - garden tip, humor, praise, sympathy, fun, support, advise, craft ideas, assistance finding info, or just a cup of coffee and a calorie free snack - I go to the garden, DAVE"S GARDEN.

Now, if the name changes I will update my files as needed, and I will still seek out the all of the people who have become a wonderful part of my family and daily life, but if the name *does* change I STILL want a DAVE"S GARDEN COFFEE CUP SHAPED LIKE A FLOWER POT!!!

Sorry for shouting, but I *really* want one (well, actually several) of them and I have been waiting for a *long* time. Sorry Dave, but you said you would see if we could get them awhile back. Other things were happening then, but have you been able to check out the possibility of recreating the darling little flower pot?

ginni - (I've been a good girl, can I have one, please?)

Starkville, MS

Is this thread no longer *applicable* 'cause the name isn't changing ( I'm really glad!) or just 'cause I'm bugging you about coffee cups again ( I still want them! )? LOL
Dave, Trish, Terry and all - you are the greatest!
ginni

The thread is 2 years old!! People are talking about it as if it's still an open issue.

Coffee cups will never die of old age!!!! ( love you Dave!)

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

maybe just erase this one Dave as it just upsets us _stick in the mud_ Dave's Gardeners. and it is a moot point at this point LOL

By now Dave probably thinks that coffee cups are *all* I think about! I just can't resist an opportunity to poke him in the ribs! I did start a thread back last fall, so I figure it might be someone else's turn!

Poor Dave, like he didn't have enough to worry about now!

uh -oh I might be agreeing with Dave.

Why say "uh oh" about agreeing with me, bigcityal? As far as I know, you and I have never interacted. Maybe you have a problem with authority figures? Speculation abounds!! LOL

I don't know but he didn't tell me about my coffee cups!

LOL this thread alone is worth the subscription!

Love you each & everyone

Starkville, MS

And for your participation - you might win a DG coffee cup for just $ ? $. You must be present to win!!!

Dave, I will now "unwatch" this thread so that you can go about your important business. ( Which is not to say that I will forget about my cups - just that I will give others a chance to bug you about them - LOL)

It's a disappointment with the mugs... Magpye very graciously looked up a vendor who could make the mugs for us, but they won't return my emails. I guess I'm going to have to call them up.

I love my coffee cup, so glad I got one when I did.

I'm going to have to get one of those! I wish Dave would have little contests once in awhile as those & t-shirts or hats as prizes! (hint hint)......

Moab, UT(Zone 6b)

Karrie, didn't you get a tee when they were on sale last year??

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

Karrie - appears they still have some t-shirts, although not kid sizes, if you really want one. $12 ea or 3 @ $10 each. Check it out: http://standardout.com/module/store/viewentry/9737/
~ Suzi :)

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

I have a few extra coffee cups I ordered from Dave. Are they not available anymore?

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

I think that they are all gone and there are plans on getting more.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks, Briar :)

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Actually, per this note from Dave, there are very few left. Due to problems with breakage in transit, they will only be available if you can go to Texas and pick them up in person: http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/603513/

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Thanks, Terry. I understand that they are fragile! I had several arrive with chips in them. But, I ordered 12 I think so it was not expected to have each wrapped in bubble wrap for protections. Thanks for the link, too.

Moon Twp, PA(Zone 6a)

Hmmm - seems sometime between March and May the coffee cups were offered... darn, must have been working too many hours and missed it totally! ~ Suzi :)

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I just got here, but..........

No matter what you "Google" it comes up Dave's Garden. It is now know world wide as the place to go for plant info. It is a KNOW NAME....

So, my question is, "Why re-invent the wheel?"

I consider myself, as well as our group in FL, the Galloping Gardener's, as DGers..... What would we have to call ourselves? I hate to think.

Good decision.

Hap

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It's a non-issue, Hap. I'm glad, too! :)

YEEEEPPPPPEEEEEE!!! I love it. Glad you kept it!! Awesome...

Keep it, haha!

I know I'm way late in commenting on a possible name change. Thank goodness, it wasn't changed. I'm having trouble getting acclimated to
all this wonderful give and take. I guess I;m about 2 steps above
computer-eliterate.

I'm trying. Thanks for letting me into Dave's Garden---a good place to
be.

My tee shirt says Daves Garden. Dave Rules!!!!!!!!!!!

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

My half dozen t-shirts say "Dave's Garden" and I wear one for every DG garden event, to the nurseries and garden centers and many other places. My friends in the South Florida Galloping Gardeners group didn't think I owned any other shirts.

Out and about you meet other people who are members and those who aren't ask, "Where is Dave's Garden" and I just say dot com.

It's becoming a household term and doesn't need a new name, as has already been realized.

:^)))

Banning, CA(Zone 9b)

where in the world do u get the shirts? and do they come in tank tops???? I would love to have a tank top with the dave garden logo on it.. i too would wear it everywhere!!!! lol
Chrissy

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

There are t-shirts and other assorted items on Zazzle: http://www.zazzle.com/davesgarden*

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Well Dave, we are "your garden." If the shoe fits, wear it well. Buttoneer

Mississauga, ON(Zone 6a)

What do PDB, GWD, & GBW stand for?

Archer/Bronson, FL(Zone 8b)

Plant data base, Garden Watchdog & Garden book worm.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

I'm starting to get a lot more "oh yes, I've heard of Dave's Garden" rather than blank stares when I talk to people... except recently in the Netherlands (and probably in any country other than the US)... but when I say we're the biggest gardening site in the world, that still gets their attention. :-)
