And the new name is...

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

well heck! It might bring in some more folks! That would be great! Two avenues to get to the same site!

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

I had to go look too. It's really well done. In fact, it was so interesting I was almost ready to punch the "signup" button. Then I remembered......I'm in already! These senior moments are interesting! (LOL)
Pati

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

I REALLY like Daves Worldwide Garden; its just like giving daves a middle name; we could still refer to it as DG and Dave's Garden and still be correct.

Lenexa, KS(Zone 6a)

I like it too!!! Nice ring to it.

Bensenville, IL(Zone 5a)

Good, Good, Good!!! Denise

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Dave,

I am glad you kept the name, "Dave's Garden" too. If I may "wax poetic", think of yourself as the "Master Gardener" of this site and all of us, scattered throughout the World, as "flowers" that bloom and bloom in your garden. Besides...we are all "perennials".......You have acres and acres of "flowers" that keep propagating and blooming......

How could any other name do this site justice?

Gitagal

Old Forge, PA, OH(Zone 6a)

Dave and the gang,

I am glad you decided to keep the name! I am always proud to say that I am a DG'er. Oh, and I feel kinda partial of the name! LOL!

Sincerely,
Dave

Columbus (Berwick), OH(Zone 5b)

Dave,
I think you are going to find that those of us that use all of these wonderful services and information are going to be doing a lot of advertising for you. I have already passed the site onto several friends, 2 of which are now paying members.
Thanx bud,
-Raist

(Zone 5a)

I like the name as it is. It reminds me of you riding your new toy around your garden with your new hat that you so proudly displayed......thought I had forgotten that didn't cha lol.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

Shame on me, I have never taken the time to really stroll all the way
through DG until the past few days. Good grief, look at that, boards with
discussions about everything!

(ahem...except a Canna forum) ;-) LOL.

I would never have found this thread, not known about a possible
name change, and been left in the compost pile all alone!

Thank goodness the name is staying the same.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

this place is by far better then GW, Dave is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! in my book, love this place and hope it is here for years to come thxs dave and all the people that help him keep it going

Marietta, GA(Zone 7b)

There is no other place for me. Love it.

Susan

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Wow - I never even knew there was any discussion about a name change - that would be tragic!! This is DAVE'S GARDEN and hopefully aoways will be. Home Sweet Home!

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Cannas, CANNAS....did somebody say Cannas? I just discovered them and have formed my latest addiction. In fact, if I get a new pet, it's name will be Canna!!
Pati

P.S. New pictures, Kimberly?

Oklahoma City, OK

yup, i think we are dave's garden. in us, he has the flowers, the bushes and trees, sometimes the thorns and the weeds. nevertheless, a lot of growing takes place here. seems perfectly fittin n propah it does. nothing wrong with change, but also...as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. tips my bonnet to decision to keep it the same.

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Well DUHHH........the reference to Kimberly was because I thought this was the thread that was looking for a name for her new kitty!

Never said I was smart, just that I would show up and stay....and stay....and stay....and stay.......etc.!
Pati

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Oh, NO!!! What will I do with my DG tee shirt if the name is changed, lol!!!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Pati, I wondered what you were talking about! LOL I read through the thread again to be sure I hadn't posted pictures of something in 2004.

Fort Pierce, FL(Zone 10a)

Sorry Kimberly....you have to remember that you're dealing with an OLD broad that just wanders from thread to thread and has lots of "senior moments"! LOL
Pati

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

Pati, lol! It does get confusing when you zoom around here sometimes.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

And tabbed browsers like Firefox make it worse when we have multiple instances of DG pages up at a time! I've done the same thing. LOL

Belleville, IL(Zone 6b)

So, what did you name the kitty?
edited because I actually misspelled (did) with my clumsy fingers.

Oh, she's Snoopy because she was carrying around the empty cat food dish. She even carried it up onto the bed to play with in the middle of one night. ;) After THAT, I put their food in a dish too big to get through the cat door in the pantry.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

OH I missed the proposed name change, but glad it didn't happen!!! But, I like the umbrella name like DavesGardenWorld, etc. I couldn't figure out why Davesgarden.com isn't already on the T-Shirts (missed advertisement opp. Dave). Don't have a mug, but would love to buy a few, bring them to the swap please..please!

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Well, thank GOD the name is still Dave's Garden. I can't imagine why a change would be needed anyway. And some of us older folks don't handle change.very well. LOL

Des Moines, IA(Zone 5a)

Changing Dave's Garden Name would be like changing Mickey Mouse's Name & it just wouldn't be the same. Their's only 1 Garden club that I visit & I don't care about the others, Keep up the good work!
Dave,Trish & Terry.
Jerry.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I love the new old name. So glad you kept it.

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

I like the sound of "DAVES's WORLDWIDE GARDENING"

Crossville, TN

Karla...How are you liking NV....? Jo

Blenheim, New Zealand

Good one trois

Santa Fe, TX(Zone 9b)

Thanks. I think it is a good reflection of the membership.

Au Gres, MI(Zone 5a)

Why are we trying to fix something that is not broke..........

Dave's Garden is just fine.....

Deann

hickory, NC(Zone 7a)

Deann
dito i agree 110%
i think it needs to stay the way it is,why do (whoever) wanted to change the name to begin with? i dont understand?
I LOVE THIS PLACE 4EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
moretz

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Well, the original discussion of a name change was way back in 2004. It was decided then not to change it. This thread was bumped up by someone just for interest's sake.

There's no name change gonna happen. Dave said so.

Seward, AK

Like Roseman2, this is the only garden site I visit and involve myself in. Hadn't heard about the proposed change. I like it the way it is.
Carol Eads

Bee Spring, KY(Zone 6a)

I use to visit other garden sites but never really liked them. At Dave's I feel like I'm (home). It's pretty bad when you come in from work and get on the computer to see what's going on at Dave's Garden!!!!! And I have a life. LOL I love it here and Dave's Garden is a part of my life. I think the name fits the site well, it's like a bunch of friend's setting around drinking their morning coffee and talking about gardening, etc. and what ever else is going on in their lives. Dave's Garden has a cozy ring to it, and I'm home an plan to stay!!!!!!!!!!! Pour another cup. LOL

Northern Rivers NSW, Australia(Zone 7b)

If it ISNT broken , dont try to fix it !

Dave's Garden has a welcoming sound to it - I'm glad the name won't be changed.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Dave's Garden IS
Dave's Garden ONLY.

Dinu

Lilburn, GA(Zone 8a)

Why would anyone even consider changing the name of Dave's Garden?? That would be almost sacrilegious!! I am so happy it remains the same.
