Regular gas at Thrifty self service also...2.07
Unleaded Plus - 2.17
Super Unleaded - 2.27
What in the world is happening now that made the prices go up, I did not even check the other prices at Chevron?....
What are your gasoline prices out there?
Regular Gas at Chevron in CA ....2.19 per gallon
TULSA IS 1.54.. THIS MORNING WAS 1.48 FOR REG. UNLEADED..
$1.59 reg in Kc.Get ready for a package from me gourd.;0)
Price of gas is high, but so are the temps.
Ours jumped 10¢ in the last few days, to $1.69.
I can still buy more gas for an hours work than I could 40 years ago when it was 25¢ a gallon!
We are all spoiled!
Bernie
I think it was around $1.67 last time I looked here. There's a site which lets you check gas prices all over, plus you can volunteer to be a "spotter" and update your local stations' info at the site: http://www.gaspricewatch.com/
It was $1.72.9 at the station we usually use yesterday when I filled up. Another station was $1.67.9
I can remember gas prices of 11 cents a gallon ! I think I am getting old now.
$1.75 here in SE Michigan.
Paul
$1.67 here in North Florida.
Our lowest is $1.73 and down the street at a Texaco it is $1.94....At the discount gas station people were lined up to fill their tank before another increase took place. Jo
After a bit of unit and currency conversion, I cn say that one gallon of gas here costs around 4.9 to 5.5 US $!! (one litre around 1.10 €)
We were just talking about this at school. 70% of the gas price here is taxes, then someone asked "why some countries sell gas so cheap that they use it a lot more than us". The tax is for that people wouldn't use it so much because it isn't good for the environment.
:S
We're paying about $1.53 here in central MO. We've seen it change as much as $.10 in a week back in the fall.
Average for regular unleaded around here is $1.68, maybe 2¢ less at thrifts. I'd hate to see what the stations along the Interstates are charging!
Tourist season will be upon us soon, guaranteed to increase gas prices even if the rest of the country doesn't raise theirs.
Gas prices here can boing up and down as much as .40 per week, often .10 or more per day. Crazy! Today's price $1.64.9.
It is over two dollars this week.
I paid 1.53.9 yesterday...same place is 1.56.9 this morning.
We pay $2.90 (equivelant to U.S. gallon)
Wow, it was only $1.45 at my favorite station yesterday here in Denver.
It jumped .4c as of Thursday, going from $1.74.9 to $1.78.9 here in Western Wisc.
Don't care what the gas costs, still going to use our RV this summer. Only vice we have.
Maxine
That's how we are about our 8cyl. conversion van - it's a gas hog, but it's so comfortable and gives such a great view for everyone when we go on drives. Howie drives our Buick to work during the week, and the van is our pleasure drive vehicle, or mine when I need to run errands.
Talked to my son today in Alaska, he says 1.82 there.. wow..
Lilypon, my god, yours is high.
I am afraid of what they will be like this summer.
My little Volvo (1.9 Litre) turbo gets good mileage but I give it Super gas. $1.95 a gal. now. I'd run it on corn alchohol if I could. My govt. doesn't care about me. I'm much more concerned about a Brug I have coming from Gurney's and what I'm going to do with it. If I have to go somewhere, I have to buy gas. If I want to keep a plant in Maine that doesn't belong here, I need my head examined. Still trying both. Frank
Our's around here is at least $1.79.9! I thought ours was high!!!
Some of ya'll are really high!!
$1.51 here
Yesterday it was $2.06 here, it seems like I just paid $1.80 something a couple of weeks ago.
It was 4 dollars a gallon in Belize and I expect the same in Dublin, IE when I move next month.
Guess there is no sense in complaining about $1.75, huh?
:)
Or our 5.5 $ per gallon, compared to your prices you shouldn't have anything to complain about. :[
Evert - you're so right. It's easy to take things for granted when everything in our country is so cheap compared to much of the world. I'm definitely in for an awakening! ;)
Someone said it well above - here the cost of gas in comparison to an hour's wage - has actually gone down.
Oh Evert, that is high, somehow I missed that up there the first time. The prices are supposed to go up to and over 3.00 here for regular, so I imagine the premium and super will be alot higher. Hopefully the prices will come down for you guys there, who want's to work just to put gas in their car? Alot of people here lost their homes due to the gas prices and the commute they had to make, so we have reason to complain, our jobs are not close by. A two hour commute is normal around here.
We have a car that runs by diesel nowadays though, and it is a bit cheaper, around 0,75 to 0,85 €. The price of gas I told about is E95 which is the most common type. E98 is even more expensive! I think only some sport cars and such use it. Or people who have a lot of money..
Sacramento Ca
2.10 to 2.45
I read that a refinery in Bakersfield, Ca that produces less than 2% of Ca's gasoline is going to be shut down for repairs, so we pay now for the time they are "down".
Can the unbelievable be true?
$1.51 per gallon in Iowa. Just the oil people having some fun at our expense...
Evert, what is the dollar exchange? How much would that be in US dollars? $5.50 ???
(sorry, I meant 75 to 85 €-cents per litre.. So it is about 0.93 to 1.06 $ per litre)
= 3.8 $ to 4 $ / gallon.
Flying J, the cheapest station around our area, had the least expensive gas for $1.59/gal tonight. Elsewhere it is around $1.65 for the cheapest grade.
ooooo OK. WOW What a difference!
$1.61 to $1.68 for regular here....depends on the station.
Evert, one thing to keep in mind is that you have much better public transportation in Europe - in part because your countries are so much smaller than the U.S.
For better or worse, the U.S. is a sprawling continent, and the only way to get from "point A" to "point B" is often to drive yourself. Better public transportation would be nice, but it's not feasible for many of our communities. (For example, I live just over 2 miles from a grocery store, 5 miles from the library, 7 miles from the post office. Compared to thousands of other people in this town and surrounding county, I am VERY close to all these things, but there is no bus, subway, electric train in our city. So I have to drive when I need to go to one or more of these places.)
My husband works 35 miles away; living closer to where he works wasn't feasible for our family (quality of schools and other factors.) So he commutes 70 miles every day, in a car that gets ~25 miles per gallon.
We do try to conserve energy by keeping trips to town to a minimum, and trying to group errands in a "circuit" trip whenever possible - when DD has weekly dance lessons, we go to the PO and the library, which are nearby. On our way home, we stop at the grocery store and/or any other places I need to run. Throughout the week, I try to keep our pantry and refrigerator stocked and avoid last-minute dashes to the grocery for one item.
Every year, they say that the price of gasoline goes up in the winter because more fuel oil is being produced instead of gasoline. (I don't know if it possible to adjust the refining and cracking process so that you get more or less gasoline out of a given amount of crude, but I don't trust Big Oil any further than I could throw them.)
Personally, I blame the increase in gas prices in the past few years to the SUV craze. Out here, half of the vehicles are SUVs or full-size pickups. When demand goes up, price goes up, that's simple economics. Those gas-hogs must get half the miles per gallon as my Honda Civic. (I realize that some people need large vehicles and I am not criticizing them.) SUVs are my pet peeve, so I better stop now or I'll be going on all day.

$1.49.9/gal here in East Texas. A gasoline refinery is only 15 miles from me.
Bill
Yesterday in Bowling Green, KY prices varied from $1.51 to $1.55. for regular. Looks alot better than CA prices.
Does anyone ever come in for the Corvette drive ins?
Bowling Green is the only place in the world corvettes are manufactured. Great museum also.
