Secret Santa Anyone?

Silverhill, AL(Zone 8b)

I am mailing my gift out today! :)

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

BIG SMILES HERE !!!!
I just got my wonderful gift. Thanks so much Tortoisekeeper.
It is just gorgeous. She sent me a willow or twig wrap wreath with pretty poitsettias and a Cardinal around it. Then on the bottom are three little pots that will hold the three plants she sent. A Christmas cactus, a String of pearls, and a Queen of the night Succulent. I can't remember the botanical name of the Queen but I know what it is.
Thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Boy! That was fast. I'm glad you like them. I was thinking they would be good for starting cuttings in water too. I have all kinds of little jars and antique bottles with cuttings in them all over my kitchen.

Jan so glad you enjoyed it. You did not have a wish list so I had to do some investaging to find out what you were interested in. Hope I got it right. I always thought the Queen of the night was a nite blooming Cerus but found out recently it was Queen of the night epi. I am posting a picture of it in bloom. The wreath is a grape vine.

Mobile, AL(Zone 8b)

Jan,

I leave it outside on my porch year round. Does not get to cold here. That was the first time it bloomed since I got cuttings 2 years ago.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm afraid that Queenie would freeze here. So I will just keep her inside till it warms up again. Thank you for the great wreath. I noticed that I planted them differently then you had them set but no matter.

Ashton, IL(Zone 5a)

I rec'd my secret santa gift from Springsong! A very cute ladybug votive holder complete with two scented candles. Of course I had to light it up right away and admire it. I felt kind of guilty opening it before Christmas LOL!

Also, I have sent out my secret santa gift...wrapped very very securely against breakage, I hope.

Eileen

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

eileen, sounds like your secret santa did a nice job. i certainly like little lady bugs. your so correct about wrapping breakables and praying they arrive in one piece. packages are tossed and run over conveyor belts and then put on trucks and planes in piles that would crush anything but the strongest of boxes.
i was thinking of selling some breakables on ebay and my girlfriend at the post office said one woman who sold pottery, who packaged them excellently, had a 1 out of 2 chance of them arriving whole. she decided to stop and she was told that was a good idea, becase they were going to have to refuse her insurance shortly.
sorry for hyjacking this thread. ;) debi z
