I don't normally order from either of these companies. Their plants are generally waaaaaaay overpriced, but they have a sale going on now with some outstanding buys. Here is what I got:

41251 Elephant Ear Black Magic 3-inch pot 1 $3.75
46845 Dwarf Fothergilla Mount Airy 1-quart 2 $8.00
47311 Mock Orange Innocence 1-quart 1 $3.25
47550 Japanese Spiraea Shibori 3 1/2-inch pot 1 $2.25
49168 Viburnum Pink Beauty 4-inch pot 1 $2.00
47280 Hibiscus Lavender Chiffon 4-inch pot 1 $2.50
41040 Hibiscus Sweet Caroline 3-inch pot 1 $2.50
9228Q Park's Honeyberry Pair Bareroot 1 $19.95

48048 Purple Ninebark 4-inch pot 1 $3.00
Standard Shipping $7.95
Your Order Total $66.60
In case you think I'm exaggerating about their being overpriced, this would have cost me over $240 at regular prices!!!

The codes for the 75% discount are P1AH20 for Park's and P1CH13 for Wayside. You enter one of these numbers on your first plant order in the appropriate box, and the discount is applied to all other plant orders. Hope this is helpful for everyone.
Sale at Park's and Wayside
Don't miss the Formosa Lily for $1.75 ea.
well i did some damage lol. a lot was aready soldout but i did good. thanks for telling us.
Wowsers - thanks for the tip! I had sworn off any more orders this year, but who can pass up the opportunity to get a gallon-size Fringe Tree (Chionanthus), a purple ninebark shrub, a pot of Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly, some variegated Virginia Creeper, a quart-sized fountain butterfly bush, and three monkshoods for less than $20? (okay, it was $26 with shipping, but still!)
I would have bought more but they're quickly running out, especially on the perennials.
Hopefully, the plants will be in decent shape when they arrive. Both companies can be hit or miss when it comes to shipping healthy plants. I'll be curious to see if "all's well that end's well" from everyone who orders.
Thanks for the tip Copperbaron! I had promised DH that there would be no more plants purchased this year. We are over budget and out of room. We went to the links you provided and, sure enough, had to make room in both the budget and the gardens for some more. DH was able to get two perennial grasses that he had been looking for....and only $2 each! What bargains! Thanks again.
Someone come to my house and take away my credit card! Better yet, my computer. The one thing I did order that I'd been wanting for years was the Acer japonicum Aureum. Plus several other goodies. I just can't pass up a deal. Thanks for the link.
Now I'm getting nervous- I just checked out the garden watchdog on Wayside. They have more negatives and neuturals then positives. I take this as a bad sign? Oh- rats, I'm getting cold feat now. Thinking about calling and cancelling my order.
datdog, as I said before, it can be a hit or miss proposition with these two companies. I have ordered a few things from them (tree peonies at $15 each which is an incredible deal) and was pleased with what they sent.
My main gripe is that they charge an outrageous amount for plants that can be found elsewhere for 2 to 3 times less. My thought was that these deals were just too good to pass up - "you pays your money, you takes your chances" on deals like this.
i just got roses from the last email sale they had thanks to my GREAT friend deann, and they were wonderful with lots of growth and as big as the ones we got from the co-op for a few dollars less AND LOTS MORE LIFE!. I will be posting positive feedback for them after this post. I sure hope the stuff i ordered today is just as nice!
and at way side i got so many discount codes from my GREAT friend deb that myand tootsie's total savings was over $500.00
one thing sold out as i was trying to order! better hurry! :)
Now my question is this: it is saying "for spring delivery"
Do ya'll think that is from thr original spring catalog, or that they are putting it off til next spring?
this is what it said with my order:
Your order may arrive in separate boxes. Rest assured your shipping and handling costs are not affected! You may see multiple charges on your credit card if the boxes are sent at different times of the year. Live plants will be shipped at the proper planting time for your region. Seeds, gardening supplies, hard goods, and gift certificates will ship promptly.
its the planting time here! ;)
Please tell me how you handle bare-root roses ? I have always been spoiled with potted roses due to our climate here.
I am kinda "afraid " of bareroot ones.
BUt how can I pass up Austin roses at those prices?
i soaked mine for over an hr and then added compost to the whole-threw a black bannana in a hole or 2. Planted them up to there ball joint(hehe)and made a trench around them for water and then soaked them day after day!!!
but im not a rose person-this is my first yr and i cant even tell ya where im going to plant the new order as i was waliking around yesterday with a rose saying where oh where!!! ;)
Thanks Naughty Martha.
I am gonna take the plunge! What deals! i have ordered from Wayside and Parks over the years and never had a problem, but Wayside's regular prices are waaaay overpriced !
Mostly because they are newly released cultivars usually.
But for annuals to cost so much when you can plant seeds, just isnt my thang.
Oh, And when I went to checkout it stated that the roses will be shipped sometime in June, Just fyi
Thanks for the tip Copperbarron, I think? I just said today, no more shrubs or trees. I have been digging and digging and digging. But the fountain butterfly bush looked enticing and I'm into Viburnums these days for the birds to eat and the deer don't eat and I don't know where I'm going to plant the Fothergilla Mount Airy, but I'll find a spot! :) What the heck, I'll be glad in a year or so when they are beautiful, I HOPE.
What great deals. Better hurry, they are running out quick. Before I could get checked out they ran out of an item I had down.
Waysides: Regular Prices--154.10 Sale Price 37.00 Total of 15 items.
Parks: Regular Prices--161.00 Sale Price 41.25
Total of 15 items
So actually I got a little over $300.00 worth of plants for $78.00. Not bad. And I thought I was almost done planting.
Debby, what am I going to do with you? More??? Great deals though. I hope your plants come to you in really nice shape.
Brugie: I know, I think I need a 12 step program for my addiction. These co-ops and now nursery sales. Ted asks me the same thing 'What am I gonna do with you?' I tell him Fire Me, Please. He says, I am to willing. Hey, anyway Ted has bought quite a few boy toys this spring. Like a power washer, a drill, electric hedge trimmers. Now I have to squeeze in 30 more plants.LOL.. Now it sounds like work. Where is the next line for a sale.
i paid 17.00 for a fountain butterfly bush this spring!!
Everything is gone almost at the parks site -ok who bought all the pasque flower? I could only get the white ones!!! grrrrrr
i did manage to find some plants to order!
Lavanda,
I asked when my order would arrive and was told it would be sent next Thursday or Friday. It should be at our house in seven to ten working days. Can hardly wait!
yahooooooooooooo more work! ;)
Thanks Copperbaron I got several plants for me and some for my Mother. Great deals.
Dori, I didn't get any pasque flower either, and I had the white bleeding heart in my order, but drat the darned dial up connection!!! When I got to checkout it was sold out. Did you get them all? LOL
I ordered last night, two nights ago?, my days are running together I fear, (Friday night/Saturday morning) about 2 am Mountain Time. It was still busy then. I can believe that everything is sold out by now.
I got an email today from the parks seed company-my order had been shipped!!! I ordered from them after wayside. I will let ya know how the look and then rate them!
Oh ive got plants in the mail! :) happy dance!!!
I ordered from both too Dori and I recieved e-mails that my order's are being shipped!
It looks like not all thing's are comming at one time!!

I got an email from both places today too. It looks like my entire order from Parks is being shipped together, but Wayside is only shipping 2 plants. I went to the website to check on the status of the rest and it said the others are due to ship on June 6th. I really wish they weren't being mailed on Fridays, but hopefully they will be okay.
I received emails from both places. Mine were shipped out yesturday 5-30-2003. Both orders will be shipped complete.
Whew, I about missed this one! Almost everything is sold out but got some great roses from wayside! Parks is really about sold out!! Thanks so much, Tracy
I got about 10 roses from wayside, never found much at parks
clearance that called out to me.
Roses are scheduled to come in latter part of June.
Did anyone manage to snag an iris "Steve" ? He really is a looker!
This morning in my email box I had a new sale from Wayside - 75 percent off again, different plants.
Check it out.
Did ya'll get one from Park's?
Bonus code for Wayside is P1CH16
thanks, lavanda i didn't get that one, Tracy
Thanks soo much lavanda i ordered again. whew it's going to take awhile to convince DH i needed all these roses. But at these prices! couldn't resist. Tracy
Mew neither. Buit at least while I was piddling around, some thing sold out, so it wont be as much plants/money as it would have been.
And you are very welcome.
Love, lavanda
Lavanda - thanks so much for providing that link! Wow! I'm sad I'm late, they are out of Angelica Gigas!!!
I got my orders today, except for what is backordered. All I can say is WOW! Both places sent extremely healthy and well packed plants. The rose bush I got is HUGE for a bare root plant and it has growth on the canes. I planted that up right away and I was racing a major storm coming in.
I'm very impressed with both places. I need to leave feedback in GW as soon as I receive the rest of my order.
I recd. my Parks order. I second what Joan said. I WISH I would have ordered more. These plants are larger then any mail order source I've used. They are also very healthy looking. The packing was EXCELLENT! Not a leaf out of place. Can hardly wait for my Wayside order. I sure hope it's as good. Kristi
got my order from parks and like everyone said-its great!
cant wait for waysides order-thats where i went CRAZY!!!;0
Me to notmartha- my BIG damage was done at Wayside. I just checked my order status. Still hasn't been shipped yet.
