How many ponders are out there????????? List your names.
This is my secoond season with a pond and I am already out of gardening space!! I already need a larger area. Does anyone know a really inexpensive place to purchase pond filters and skimmers? I want to build a 10,000 gal pond but my "big pond fund" is still just a bunch of quarters. Anyone have an idea of how much I might have to spend? This is one of the first pictures of my current pond. Sure looks bigger without plants! I will have to take an updated pic tomorrow.
My ponds are both looking good. The pump has not been put in place and since the water is so pretty and clear I am hesitating to put the pump in too soon. The smaller pond which is for the frogs was cleaned as it was a mess. Now it is nice and clear with lots of frog eggs that will soon be polywogs. Today was a very warm 73 degrees. Donna
Me, too. Pennsylvania Zone 6 Pond is 7' wide by 11' long by 3' deep and you can see it at my website:

Just click on the pond link.

Kimberly that is so cute. It sure looks like it has been there for a long time.
We moved into our house in June 1999. I believe we put the pond in the spring of 2000. Here's what it looked like then: http://davesgarden.com/t/24730/

First Pond with Koi.......
it's about 6 months old and I am loving it!
I am a new member - just created a wildlife pond and sloshing about in the mud planting it up!
I enter here with my raised hand.... still 'pondering' over my pond and waiting with crossed fingers in both hands to see when it will settle down. About 100 days old now.
Another Mississippi ponder newbie ^^ !
Just threw 4 feeder goldfish in today...Ya'll please add them to your prayer list! lol
Yvonne
I am checking in also..........working on one right now. will send pics when finished.
DH added one this past month..a work in progress, but we are happy that there is no green water.
I also have a little one.
Dinu, are you having trouble with an overgrowth of algae or what? If that is the case, putting some straw in the pond will kill the algae and clear it up.
Please add me to the list - - just had one installed!!

Hello People....I looked through the number of posts looking for someone else from Montana and didn't find any. Now that my eyes are flipping all over I decided to post.
I have one 5500 gal pond, two at about three hundred each and my first one which is 40 gal in my sunroom.
I am seriously thinking about creating yet another. I have too many ideas to put into one pond. I wish I could have started ponding before I took early retirement to care for my elderly parents. I had much more strength, stamina and money then. I will probably die with a shovel in my hand and a rubber liner beside me.
Guess I should be in this number. ;)

LOLOL Seems like it :)
Here, I'm out here! I have one small pond that is just about to be enlarged. The 2 goldfish I bought at a bait shop have way outgrown their home! (They were each about 2 inches long when purchased - are now 6 inches!)
Lena & Mazie sounding off from Northern California. We have a 15'X 30' pond (4 years old) we put in for frogs (our 4 acres is called Happy Frog Farm) and catfish, then we have two whiskey barrel/plastic form water gardens on each patio edge. I have built many water gardens in both Texas and California. Can't imagine a life without water gardens, ponds and water water water. (Can you tell I am Pisces-the "confused" fish?)My frogs and toads have their own water gardens! Call me a fool, but everybody gets spoiled on Happy Frog Farm! Thank you so much for this forum!!! I'm Hooked!

It's Great to Have You Aboard!
Hey, Lena! You're making your rounds here, LOL. Good for you - jump on in, the water's fine (especially in this forum).
I'm starting a new thread to continue this discussion. I'm on cable and it's slower loading, so I'd imagine it takes a while for dial-up users!
Here it is, reading and waiting for y'all: http://davesgarden.com/t/448957/

Hi GardenWife!
I am a friendly soul and have so many interests I can't keep track of all the forums! I love farming, water gardening, growing anything... you name it, I am fascinated. Now I just need to dump my day job so I can do this "fun" stuff fulltime! I'll make the jump to where you are now. I'm a good follower. he he (The photo is of my dog and I in Alaska I moved to California!)
Lena & Maizie!
ACYA: Yep, bought my two goldfish at PetCo last year! I wintered them and the water Hyacinths in the house in a plastic container, then everyone went back out this year. The goldfish are now 4 and 3 inches long and I love them! The racoons use to get my previous goldfish, but Maizie the Amazing Recycled Wonder Dog keeps them away now~!
Heres a photo of before I moved to California in Alaska with Maya my dog! I miss Alaska, but love growing things here!
Lena in Northern California!
I have 5 ponds as of now and will probably add another before fall is over.
1 - 600 gal. Goldfish and Shubunkins
1 - 750 gal. Koi and one big no-no
2 - 330 gal. young koi, shubunkin, and goldfish
1 - 70 gal. fancy goldfish
Just can't get enough!
Gorgeous!
I have a pond too! Only been a couple months, but I'm addicted already.
Donna
ehamilton12, that is very pretty. I wish mine looked half that good.
I'm a ponder and a bogger. I have a natural pond and an assortment of other created types of very small ponds and two itsie bitsy water features. The fish I have are natives. The bogs are both acid and fen. Count me in!
Thank you, busybee and gardenwife, for your kind comments. The pond has been a work in progress and is finally about where I want it - phew! It's 7 years old, and has truly been a learning experience.
Hi this is my first DG post. You can call me Kip. I have one 10x15 pond with 1000gals and a homemade filter.
