No condo for me - mortgage broker said the debt ratio is too high for me.
That leaves the 17th floor apartment (love it) and the 3 story walkup (lovely apartment, grounds & neighbourhood).
If I had my "druthers" I'd take the 17th floor one - huge, with a pool & grounds, and neighbourhood! Here's hoping.
Best & Worst, what did I learn today.
Fingers crossed for you, Susan!
We go on Monday for an ultrasound to see if the breeding took. It's tricky doing a frozen semen breeding, timing is critical. She's acting more spoiled than usual, I'm hoping that's a sign. I've got to cook for her to get her to eat anything, and I can't put it in a stainless steel dog bowl. She'll just flip it over and lay there with her stomach growling.
They can be very finicky while pregnant.
Judy - I laughed when I heard how finicky she is - flipping her bowl over & SO hungry!
Pat - love trellises! Very pretty
Still waiting to hear about one of the two apartments.
I got the apartment that I wanted - 1020 sq ft!! I'm going to ask my buyer if he's willing to move in mid-July
Deb, how funny! I had NO idea the pregnant dogs become that finicky!!
Susan, how exciting for you. We look forward to pictures.
Linda, how is your dog doing? All puppies sold and no plans for rebreeding for a while?
Contractor THOUGHT he was done with the water and could not come back today. I went to run line #2 and blew a connection. I am grateful I decided to walk it all and check it. I had a RIVER running.
Erin (my niece) is in town. Baccalaureate for Marie's grandson Brandon is tonight, Marie is going, I am not.
I'm so excited to be moving into a luxury apartment - imagine, 2 bedrooms, so one of course will be my sewing room :)
a river? I hope it's now fixed!
Linda, those puppies are getting so big!
Susan, 1000 sf for one person is really nice!!!
Yep, river fixed when he came back today and total bill was less than 1/2 of what we expected.
Graduation was tonight and family party tomorrow. I did get the quilt off the longarm & trimmed. I still have the binding to do. I had to drive an hour away to renew my drivers license. A long day!
Deb, your dog is beautiful.
That turned out really nice, Pat! I'm sure the recipient will be thrilled!!
My Winnipeg friend, Karen, says it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission lol
The rules are "no pets" but several of my friends figure that's cats & dogs, only and that budgies would be fine. I'll take them and see what they say. If the answer is "no" then I'll find another home for them. It'll be tough, but ya gotta do what you gotta do.
Beautiful quilts Pat.
Susan, have you asked her if birds are allowed. Better to find out now, so you don't have to hurry and find a home if they are not allowed.
Pat - the red/white/black combinations are stunning!
I have enough fabric to do 3 more in that same combination EXCEPT the border. I only had 2 1 yard cuts and had to splice the borders to get the length I needed. Chris was supposed to discharge from the hospital today but is experiencing a headache, so they are keeping him at least another day.
I made a clothing order a month ago and it finally came today, and they all work! I will need to alter the dresses a little and tighten the neckline. I am so pleased!
I got the borders on another quilt & it off the longarm last night. I have the binding cut and ready. When 100% done, I will post a picture.
I'm honest to a fault, so I called the apartment management & they told me that I COULDN'T have my budgies. I told Chuck, and he has a neighbour who was going to take the birds AND the fish, but her hubby said NO. I have someone coming to look at the fish tomorrow. I think the budgies will be easier to find a home for, but we shall see.
Well, now you know and can move forward getting good homes for your pets.
Sorry to hear that Susan.
Pat, I can't wait to see the new quilts.
Glad to hear the clothes fit.
I had a great time in Portland with my son Kevin & family. We attended a Pow Wow on most of Saturday. The native dancing was a sight to see, so different than the dances I have seen years ago.
I did get bindings on 2 of the quilts before I left. The star quilt was a filmsy I bought for $10 at the quilt show several years ago. It wasn't perfectly stitched but I sure would not have abandoned it! 1/2 yard of batik for binding and a sheet for the backing and I had a 59 x 59 quilt to donate. The 2nd quilt is the Carpenter star I started on the cruise and added the border here at home. I used a high loft polyester to give it lots of dimension when quilting. I will be a nice addition to my step daughter's waiting room (mental health). I hope you can read the saying in the middle.
BEAUTIFUL, Pat!
I tried to find this thread yesterday and couldn't!!! I guess we're not posting enough?!?!
I went to a Medieval Feast last night at Good Knights Entertainment & it was so much FUN! We all got to dress up & enjoy SEVEN courses (or more - lost count! lol) Story telling & lute music - now I'm considering going to an encampment for 1 night. Two of us want to go, and we need to find a 3rd. Google it to find pictures, but when I'm on my phone I will send you some from last nigh.
Those are so pretty, Pat!
That sounds like fun, Susan. How's the packing going? Do you have a move in date, yet?
Susan, I looked yesterday. Couldn't find this thread at all.
Pat, those quilts are beautiful.
My possession date is July 1, and the purchaser of this place has an August 1st possession date so I will pay rent on this lot ($395 - it's do-able) & the apartment, for July. My movers will be here July 24, 25, or 26. Closer to the time (2 weeks) they'll give me an actual date.
I may have found a home for the aquarium AND the budgies. It was suggested to me that I donate the aquarium to the local senior's Lodge so I went there today to ask. They'll get back to me.
The festival looks like all kinds of great fun! I enjoy making costumes like that.
The trellis got assembled Monday morning, my SIL Sharon and I got the trellis installed in cement etc. I bought a couple of climbing annuals for it. I wanted a Jackmanni clematis but there were none local. I was just too late. I settled for annuals until next year.
I'll get a better picture when the sun goes down further.
That's really pretty, Pat!
it IS pretty. I'm rather fond of trellises.
Well, my mattress & box spring have been sold & all I have left is the light metal frame. I inflated camp bed & put the memory foam topper on it. It's a full size & 19" tall, so it's perfect for me. I slept very well on it. My place looks full............ with boxes lol It's what it looks like when pretty much everything has been pulled out of cupboards & is all over the place. I was going to have a yard sale this Saturday but it's 75% chance of rain & we've been having a lot, with strong winds.
On the 24th I'm going (with 2 other ladies) to the Good Knights Medieval Encampment & we're going to stay in the Tudor tent - breakfast included, wood floor with 2 queen & 1 double bed. Guess we'll have to draw straws lol We also have a toilet in the tent (throne room LOL) We're just staying 1 night. The tent is 510 sq ft https://www.goodknights.ca/gallery Take a look - it's elegant

Look like a great festival Susan. I love the costumes.
Pat, I love that trellis.
Thanks ladies, I am pleased with the trellis. I worked hard today on spraying chemicals and weed eating. I am going to conquer that snake grass, one way or another. I hope to get those 2 infested areas cleared and ready for planting NEXT year. This year the fight with chemicals makes it impossible to plant this summer.
Linda, are the last of your puppies spoken for? I think remember you still had one that needed a committment?
Susan, you are pushing along! The last bit with all the stuff packed and you are in "holding pattern" is hard! Going "elsewhere," anywhere! is preferrable!!
Deb, what is the status with the dog pics? Vet confirmed pregnancy? It seemed to me with cattle all the cows were given a shot to bring on estros and then the AI was performed. Sounds like dogs are more tricky.
"All the stuff packed" LMAO As IF! I still have to live here for the next 5 weeks.
Planning my trip to Scotland - have to replace my birth cert to get my passport. I have to pay a down payment on the trip, then pay the balance by July 15th. I don't get my funds from the sale of my place until the beginning of August, so we'll have to talk about that.
Today I successfully requested my birth certificate & chose express delivery. Once I have it I can get my passport. My agent said she can get me travel insurance cheaper than through the CAA (Canadian Automobile Ass'n). I'll need to have my MB Health card to get the travel insurance. I have to be IN Winnipeg to get my MB Health.
Her itinerary for Scotland - Apparently I'll fly to London (stay in a hotel 1 night), train to Glasgow, then join the tour group through Scotland. Returning, I'll take the train from Glasgow to London & fly home from there. 2 week tour, and one extra day on each end. She plans on me leaving on Sept 11 and returning Sept 27th.
That Scotland trip is coming up SOON!! How are you liking your new car? I know buying another car was not in the game plan, but it's working out OK?
My Honda CRV pleases me very much. SO much room, with the width no wider than my little Chevy Cobalt. A little longer, but I'm ok with that - adjusting well.
I found out that my "final payment" for Scotland is July 15th, and my lawyer says I will get my full payment August 1st (three week difference). Ah well, I spoke to my travel agent, and I'll be going to Scotland in April. This will give me more "settling in" time & also time to buy all the furniture I need to replace (selling SO much here, that I'm basically moving boxes & a few pieces of furniture and my tv.and computer.
I am sure you are disappointed, but this will give you time to "settle in" as you said. Starting over is exciting.
Yes, I'm a bit disappointed, but with SO much going on I just can't do it all right now.
Getting my birth cert, passport, Lease agreement, etc etc etc. and trying to find homes for both the fish & the birds (my biggest stressor). Michelle says that I'm managing well. Yes, I am, but still looking towards the movers' pickup, and the drive out to Winnipeg. I've never driven more than 2 hours, so this distance AND by myself is a huge adventure and I shall look on it as such. I hope the moving company chooses the earlier date of July 24th.
I plan on another yard sale Saturday June 28th. It's supposed to be nice weather. Right now it's raining and although the farmers REALLY need it, it's not conducive to a successful yard sale lol
Such an exciting time, Susan. Disappointing about the Scotland trip, but, with the move going on, it is alot.
The breeding didn't take, so I have decisions to make, on whether to try again, do I go the frozen semen route again (I don't think I will, it was expensive, and put her through a surgery), if I try again, who do I want to breed her to. I have several disappointed people who wanted a puppy, but, most will wait until next time.
I got the photos from the shoot, there were only 6 she sent me, I have them attached. I think that first one she sent was the best. 3 of Luca, 1 photo of Verity. The other two of Luca are very similar to these.
