Enjoy your trip to Buffalo.

Verona, ON

Are you going to meet up with Debbie Betty?

I'm ready to start posting again. I read everything I missed. I just needed some time for myself and I feel must more centered now.

Saw about Karen's passing on FB. She sure loved her family and I am sure she never met a stranger.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice to see you post Dianne, we have missed you and TH

Things got a tad mixed up, we thought we were spending the night however Dave has taken a turn so want to be home otherwise we would have met up with Debbie.

We didn’t have to go far, a dog shower just brought us K7nik and saved us 5 hour drive, they are chatting away while I type.

Had late lunch at Cracker Barrel, shopping at Joanns, spent mega $$$ as it was quite the sale then another 25% at till

trying to find the post office that is open Sunday to post the quilt Sharon did for someone, Joyce (Joycet) was in Toronto a few weeks ago and couldn’t find the pain spray I get from Home Hardware, she and the girls say only thing that helps their pain, couldn’t find it so she ordered about $350 worth of spray that I will try and mail. Although I think I’ll have trouble even though it’s over the counter

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got home, traffic was horrific, where were all the people going on a Sunday night

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, loving my company.
Thunder posted the storm took siding and lots of roof but they are OK.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Parties, Betty lol
sorry that the traffic was so bad, but you're home safe & sound. Hope that you had a good time.

I'm on a MAJOR learning curve with this older sewing machine I have - an older Kenmore 14. It doesn't have an auto bobbin threader, and I can't figure out the tensions. I did figure out the insertion of the bobbin, finally. It's a bottom feeder like what I learned on in home ec! Well, maybe a BIT newer, but not by many years. Maybe I need to oil it. I have machine oil. I know that the current ones should NOT be oiled.

Well, I can't work with this sewing machine. I have a post to make on the Round Robin. Check there for updates

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad you are back home Betty. It easy to spend mega $$ at joanns. Even with the lower prices they have.
Susan, I hope you get a machine that works.
Dianne, glad you are back with us.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm glad that Thunder & family are ok. That was a major storm, for sure.
Welcome back, Dianne

I'm going to use my old sewing machine until I can get a new-to-me one. Once it's "glircked" the 1st 6 stitches (backwards), my old one is good while I leave it turned on, until the next time lol I just will have to lift the needle manually, and not sew backwards (not that I usually do).
Had a great party on Saturday - there were 15 of us, and people played pool & darts or sat & visited. Neither of the pool table or dart board get used much, so it was nice to see them using it.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, I am sorry you are having trouble with the sewing machine. I HATE when I have machine problems. Sewing is supposed to be my stress reliever, NOT add to it!

I'm in the "clean up phase" of company. The last 2 left a few hours ago. Marie got home last night. I'm washing sheets, putting away luggage etc. Marie is in doing taxes and I am about to take a nap! Stanley was in 7th heaven, so much attention & laps to choose from.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, October already..

Pat was Marie away the entire family stay? Stanley took it all in, now you will have to give extra hugs. Hope by the tome you read this you will be comfy in your recliner relaxing.
Drats Susan, wish you lived closer as there are a few machines here almost new looking for a home, well 1 anyway as 1 is promised to Raina, told her if she was still interested in sewing after coming for the month she could take it home.

Sorry Susan I’ve been MIAin sewing group, been so busy but will get on to getting them done and shipped

Sitting here holding my head as my shoulders can’t hold it up grrr

We are Going to Mandarin for supper tonight, i leave here at 3:45pm, all you can eat Chinese, seafood, roast beef, you name it they have it..if it wasn’t for Linda trying to meet up with us I’ would cancel

Spent part of the day with Marie next door as she was here chatting about 9:30, saw i was priming turkeys so left because i was busy, 10 minutes later she was back, got a call her sister died.

Off to change

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my. Sorry to hear about Marie's sister passing. Sending prayers for the family.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, glad to hear you all enjoyed the party.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No, my sister was only gone Saturday night. Kevin & Fam came Friday night, and left Sunday afternoon. Dana & wife came Saturday afternoon & left Monday so both overlapped with Marie.
I am sorry your neck and shoulders are giving you so much pain Betty. I hope you have a good time out to dinner regardless of the pain. I am sorry to hear of your neighbor's sister's passing. It seems we are of "that age" when our peers are passing.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, love this time of year, leaves on the ground, soft breeze, arching furries gathering eats for the winter.

Pat, meal was ok but when you don’t eat much then go out for eats you overdo
Think we all came home feeling uncomfortable, Sharon had been on a diet for 6 weeks, Suzanne not eating a lot since Lenny’s death, Linda eating poorly since David been in hospital, was nice getting together though.

Today has been worse than last few days, pain so bad that I’ve decided to maybe not go for chiropractor sessions, I’ll talk to him tomorrow as I think in last month it’s aggravating what I have vs fixing it. Know he will say it’s healing process but I say no

I go Monday I think for my hip and neck injections, hope that helps. I worry about being in this kind of pain Sunday when i have 20 kids….big sigh

Neighbour brought my embroidery machine upstairs and set it on coffee table, that way I can do the towels I have to do for Darlene and John. Managed to do half, maybe tomorrow or Friday I will finish the set.

6:30pm and I am off to bed

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That's a very dense fill stitch on the towels. I'm sorry you are in so much pain.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hope the injections help, Betty

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying the doctors can get you feeling better soon. I know being in pain all the time is not good.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gorgeous day out there,

Susan i can only get injections every 3 months, Monday is the day.
Pat the towels are very fluffy but machine went through it with no problem
I will get the large lighthouse towel on when i get home later.

I’m sure you do Lindakay, gets to point you don’t know what to do with yourself, you keep pushing yourself. I’m in private office at chiropractor’s office for private meeting, know he will tell me got to get worse before it gets better..I’m not so sure.

Rather than come twice a week maybe try it for a month without..he won’t agree so will have to make the decission

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Beautiful day out here, chilly, but should get into the 70's later.

Those towels are so pretty! Praying you get some resolution for this pain. I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through.

Off work today, one of my girls was called to be in a Maytag commercial for tv. We're heading in to Chicago to the studio a little later. I hope she cooperates, I think this will be fun. You just never know how a dog that's never been in that kind of situation will react. She's done fine with dog shows and being handled by strangers, so I think she'll be okay with it all. We'll see! Should be fun, either way.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful towels Betty.
Deb, congratulations on your girl doing the commercial.

Victoria Harbour, ON

How exciting is that Deb, will anxiously be waiting to hear how she makes out. A movie star furry.

Grrr one got oil from the embroidery mechanism, think I used everything i had in the house..washed and dried, think stain came, out, Lordy they are fluffy, now to make last hand towel.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

How exciting, indeed, Deb! Wanting to hear how (Charlotte?) has done at the studio!
oh Betty - sorry about the oil from your embroidery machine! Did you get it all out?
I hope you & your Chiropractor come to terms about how to handle your pain.

Well, I got a new-to-me Singer Stylist 514 sewing machine. It's certainly different threading the machine! It's been awhile (when I was in home ec?) since I've had to thread into the tensions & springs. I have problems getting it through the spring the right direction lol Not sure how I did it, but it's now sewing properly. I really don't want to change spools LOL Anyway, now I have a good machine. Only cost $10.

Thumbnail by Tallulah_B
(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Susan, doesn't seem that long ago that was how I had to thread my machine!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Can anyone tell me how to get to the email page?
Need to reply to so.eone, and I can't find it.
I can click on her name, then select email, but that starts a new one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think Linda Kay you go to D mail, right? I’ll have to look and see how I got on it.

Susan wants you to read it once or twice and its source properly. You’ll be OK for the kids on a aI’ll have to look and see how I got on it.

Susan, once you thread it once or twice and it’s sold properly you’ll be OK for the kids on a couple of older machines I got a marker and I marked a dot on all the positions so that they knew how to follow it

Jeff got here about 8 o’clock last night so I got up and spent an hour with him and then went back to bed this morning. We were up about six he had things to do and so did I. He went about his business and I didn’t stop till about a half an hour ago when I took a hot bath, I finished the towels. I am amazed with everything that I put on those towels or at least the one that had the stains that it came out perfect anyway, I finished the remainder of the towels, and now I have the watercolor, sailboat and lighthouse to finish and Darlene and John’s gift will be ready to take with them around the 20th

Once I got that done, Marie came with me and we went to the pumpkin patch. It wasn’t open but the farmer said it belong to his teenage kids and to come back tomorrow or Sunday and I told him that was impossible. He had some too for five pumpkins, but they were so small. I took the biggest one and almost begged him if I could go in the field and pick Enough for 20, he finally agreed. We had a heavy due and had had rain so my shoes and socks were completely soaked and it wasn’t an easy thing to find 20 almost the same size, then carry them quite a distance from the field to my car thank God Marie had come to help me. We were so full of mud !

Got home and got them on the ground Marie left and I wash them all down because they were so full of dirt then came in and got a few things done then it was time to bring the pumpkins on the back deck, so that the critters can’t get out them so that tired me out for sure. I didn’t realize what a problem it was pulling them off the vine holy one no wonder my shoulders are beyond hurting so now that I’ve had my bath, I’m going to put a shoulder patch on feet up and just relax.

Not sure what time Jeff will get here. He went and traded at his house his spider for the motorcycle, because Greg is going to put a new muffler on it imagine at his age, whining a muffler that’s going to make a loud sound anyway, who am I to say it’s not right at least I’ll hear them come in the yard tomorrow my brother, Noah, Kyle, Greg, and a few friends along with Jeff are going to Meaford. Dianne do you ever remember about a restaurant in Meaford that serves only wild meat? I’ll have to remind Jeff that I think this weekend is the big me for scarecrow festival so the town will be full of people.

Betty, you have been busy.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I tried it on my phone. Beside the words "Dave's Garden" there's a little PICT (?) picture. Click on it, and there's your D-mail

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Morning all
What a beautiful day here, I’m puddling around,
Young Ezra will be here in a few minutes minutes to work on his Halloween costume, be a stressful 2 hrs. lol

Once he leaves I will set up for tomorrow and not do much to aggravate my shoulders.

Jeff spent the night and left a couple hours ago to work on putt8ng new muffler on his bike, wasn’t sure if because Meaford will be so busy today if they would go..I said let me know if you head home, rain tomorrow so wants to drive dry, he points to table, you will know when all my phones and tablet aren’t on your din8ng room table

Enjoy your day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What is his costume? Would love to see it.
Praying your shoulders we're not too painful today.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

How are your shoulders, Betty? Yes, show us his costume, please :)

I had a gift certificate given to me by the county to go to Blue Ginger restaurant (Chinese food), so Dianne & I went for dinner there tonight. It's in another town & we'd never been to that restaurant before. It was lovely & we'll have to do this again. We went into another town on the way, and went to a HUGE thrift store that we've been to before, but not for quite awhile. It's quite the maze in that store and really good bargains :)
I'll have to go into my shed & find all my fall & Halloween stuff (costume) this week.
It's supposed to be gorgeous weather all week, too (70F), so I'll go into my shed tomorrow to sort through.

Hey everyone...I have a friend who is in the process of seriously downsizing and she has 38 men's silk neckties she wants to rehome. I have twice that many and don't need them.

Anyone here want these for crafts?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Oh, that would be great, Melody! Yes, I'll take them. My mind's a-buzz with options :)

Morning, nope, afternoon by a few minutes
Quite the storm we had yesterday, today is cold and dreary.

Had my Chiropractor appointment this morning at 7:30 then a scheduled appointment with the doctor Jones to get the injections in my shoulder & hip, left 2 1/4 hours to fill in. I had thought about coming home in between then I thought do you want to waste of gas, what a stupid to do, should have come home for 2 hours. Seemed like Time stood still, went to Walmart and looked around ended up buying a few Christmas gifts, then went to no-frills and bought all the fixings for pies, figured I need about 12 pies, but it only took me about 15 minutes to do that then I still had an hour to fill-in, so I went to the restaurant and had breakfast, inside of 10 minutes after eating it I felt nauseous and spent about 20 minutes in the restroom, went to Dollarama and bought a few things then to Dr. Jones‘s office, thank God they were running late because in the washroom I went.

There is a lot of cleaning of my craft room after having all the kids yesterday, but I walked in had a hot ass, put on my nighty and laying with a pillow under my leg, don’t know why these injections hurt more than they normally do, but they sure did today .

Ezra wants to make a She-ra costume, i’ll attach a picture of what he wants it to be. I bought some adhesive spray to put Darlene straw together for Quilting but it won’t be today

Melody hope you have a home for the ties I did a large quilt in Dresden plate, fashion and four smaller Dresden‘s in the corner with Darlene‘s dad‘s ties, it made a lovely memory Quilt .

Susan, glad you got out, going to a different restaurant. It’s always nice providing the food was good. I will have to wait until after we’ve had Thanksgiving this weekend before getting all the Halloween decor out, I enjoy changing for different holidays and seasons.

I made 23 kits and ended up with three left, thought maybe to bring them upstairs and paint them and as i have pumpkins for them, I could do them and give them to someone rather than put the kids away in a box. I had thought the other day that I have a big been from the last four or five years of different things that with made what I should do is put them all in brown bags stryle then have the kids workshop grab bag style and whatever they get they get to do, wonder if that would work out?

The kids certainly had a great time yesterday, it was nice that some of the parents stayed and helped because I’m not so sure I could’ve got through the entire day on my own. There were four that didn’t come to because a death in the family and to because they weren’t well, but their kids were picked up, so I wasn’t stuck with them.

Mega smiles

A few parents asked Ed if I would do kids birthday craft parties, sounds like mega work

Think only thing I will do today is bring inmy grandmothers fern outside before it freezes.

Glad I cancelled Evan tonight

Maybe I should have a hot chocolate and apple pie heated then a scoop of ice cream, Ted made a batch of apple pies so Marie brought me one.

How nice of them to give you an apple pie, Betty!
Has the injection helped you any?

Melody, I dm'd you my address. Thank you for the offer of the ties!

Tonight we have our Community Dinner - free/donation. It's Ham & Scalloped potatoes. I made a jelly salad (fruit) for it and I'll take a bag of frozen peaches & cream corn.

Victoria Harbour, ON

My favourite, scalloped potatoes, wish i had a fail proof recipe

Susan, takes awhile before it makes a difference, She always tells me to rest a few days, not do anything crazy, so far i am listening lol
