Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Come sit a spell, enjoy chatting, newcomers always Welcome!!

Julie is beautiful! I generally have stayed friends with the men that were previous romantic interests. I obviously THOUGHT they were good men, or I would not have been interested in them. I also have male friends that were never romantic interests!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pat, I agree. She is very pretty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gee whiz, already afternoon

Woke up with a plan, I will tick off where I am, I just came into to sit for awhile, that might not be a good thing..

I was up early, Darlene called at 7 as she said she tried to call many times today, then off for an hour to gather all the plastic chairs

Will have cereal then call a few places for scroll saw blades I need and see if they ship then out ✅ will pick some up Monday

Get the 12 chairs in the driveway so I spray javex on them, let them set a bit, put old painting clothes on incase javex hits me, they sure need cleaning, likely have to spray/was 3-3 times ✅ set in place near gazebo, other on side of house in case they are not needed

then I’ve washing, done ✅ vacuum, wash floors (floors can wait til tomorrow)

Get 2 embroidery designs opened and names put in it and put on memory stick for 2 of the 4 classes tomorrow

I cut wood and light sawdust all over in craft room, needs vacuuming and organization

will clear off one of the tables so Sunday someone can carry it outside with that smaller table i bought at Costco

Shop vac the room i cut in and wood scraps from cutting in fire pit

feed Diann’s kitties ✅

Burn what is in the fire pit ✅

I will stat first with cbd candy and T-3 ✅ 😜

Take sander outside and sand what parts of the Turkey I cut ✅ sanded 9 kits so almost 1/2 done
Rather tired and it’s going to rain, took some commercial plastic and wrapped it where it is, just couldn’t try to carry it 8n, know I’d hurt myself.
So

Recheck who registered for Turkey and Christmas workshop ✅

Am sure by the time I finish all aI will be done in.

i had something happen this morning that touched my heart, i have a note on front door saying if no answer come down into the basement at back of house. A lady came in and i knew I knew her but couldn’t have at spurr of the moment remembered her name. She said it’s Christine Betty (of course) said she was at Shannon’s for breakfast with her family and asked if I still lived next door, family sat down but Christine rushed over, through her tears she said I saved her life..said that when she was going through a difficult time she would come to class and always felt better when she left, said I saved her life! Imagine.. guess one never knows the impact you have on people with a few kind words.

Jeff and Julie head home today, are taking the USA route, yesterday Jeff said he was playing passenger lol

If I don’t get up right now know I won’t finish my list…. might order supper from Shannon’s

Shannon was over for a few seconds, one of her bridemaid is having her birthday, 14 people coming so Shannon is on her way to Midland to pick up Balloons and birthday decor, said Sunday morning she would bring all of it here so it will look festive for Bernie Sunday.

After my classes tomorrow I might run into Midland to pick up last minute eats. Was going to go 1st thing Sunday morning but maybe resting is better..party is only from 2-5

Jeff saying he was wearing his Canadian tuxedo lol. Must have turned cold

Calling it a day
Will have hot bath and relax.
June gave me wool the other day, it’s much too early to go to bed so Sharon is looking for her toque pattern, if she finds it maybe i will crochet or knit, want to have some made to those on the street this winter

Betty, you're right, you never know the impact you have on someone's life. Bless you!! You sure had a busy day yesterday. You deserve a break.

Last night was very much fun. I went to Three Hills where they had an International Discovery Night and I had a table representing Scotland. Pictures were taken & I've requested the people to send them to me - my minister & one of the people organizing the event. 22 countries were represented, Some of them were India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Mexico, and so many others. I won a restaurant gift certificate for having found a painted rock the county put in my community. They also reimbursed me for my travel, time, and for baking scones & oat cakes ($125!!) I got a t-shirt from them, too - with several countries' ways of saying "Hello". Lots of friends from my community came out, too. It was a 2-hour event. Not sure if this will be an annual event, but it would be fun if it were.

Here are the pictures taken by my minister from last night

GREAT picture Susan, glad you had a good time. I hope it becomes an annual event for the community.

Victoria Harbour, ON

How lovely Susan, very photogenic, wegreat way to meet and get to know other nationalities that otherwise one wouldn’t get to know. Love the display and your family tartan, so like plaid look.

Gee, i should ask if we couldn’t have something like that here, might with your permission suggest it.

Been an extremely busy day, was suppose to rain but passed us on.
Bringing in pop, case water, groceries etc . did shoulder in.

Took meds, had a bath, my froggie heated up my froggie and think i will call it a day

What are you all a doing, so quiet here

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My kilt was my mom's tartan - Hamilton. The sash is the MacKenzie tartan, so I represented both clans.
The County put this on, and it was a great success. When you say "here", are you referring to your own County? You certainly wouldn't need my permission for that. If you mean "here" as in Dave's Garden, you can certainly do that. It would be lovely to know more about each of us and our heritages. One of the displays was for the Cree nation, and the presenter's son had done a wonderful picture of a married Cree man (did you know that only a married Cree man can wear braids? I certainly didn't). One thing we couldn't post is actual FOOD, but we sure could share recipes :) It was funny last night because I brought scones, and several people thought they were shortbread cookies lol Also, people wanted to know what part of Scotland I came from - I pulled out my Scottish accent, with the pronunciation of my name - Susan MacKenzie, which phonetically sounds like Shoosee “MacCoinnigh, which is pronounced as “Mack-quin-ee” or “Mack-quin-igh (very hard sounding Mac - gutteral)

Meant in my town Susan

Had friends when I was young, moved next door, couldn’t understand most of what the said then it became 2nd nature

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you had a very busy day.
Susan, you look great. Congratulations on your winnings.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, looked like rain but sun trying hard to come out.
Been up since 4:30am, pain was bad so got up, cleaned my craft room, i had vacuumed the woodworking room so had to do again because i cut 4 more Turkey kit.. drats it just occurred to me, we used to do a Christmas craft and haven’t done one since Covid, i could send a kit to anyone who might want to do one for your Thanksgiving

Ted next door here to move the tables outside, backing bit

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh yes - Christmas Craft, or a completed Christmas gift a la Santa Warren? (Secret Santa?) I remember getting 6 "quilt look" Christmas balls from LK - beautiful. Hang them on my tree every year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I loved doing your Christmas crafts.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, do you have a cart or something to help you bring the groceries in? I am so grateful we have level parking, directly in garage with pantry RIGHT there, frig & freezer right there. We have VERY little lifting.

Mare's DBIL & wife are coming Monday. He finished a stain glass for her bathroom window. Marie is in tutoring her grandkids over Zoom and will resume cleaning her bedroom and bathroom when she is done.

Yesterday we finished kitting up all the dolls, they are safely dressed and bagged with their clothes and loaded into Marie's van. They will be stored at St Vincent de Paul until they are needed at Christmas. SVdP will bring them at Christmas for distribution.

We sorted and bagged the leftover clothes. Marie says she has had enough, tired of the dolls taking over our lives. I have been there for several years now. Marie would agree and then drag home more dolls. We agreed to do ONE additional year since we have so much already sewn up and ready. We are going to kit up what is now leftover and how many ever kits we have, THAT is how many dolls she can bring home for 2025. We'll see if Marie sticks to it. Whether she does or not, I can't control her, but I can refuse to participate. She will give up in a hurry if I am not working with her.

Oldest son Dana & wife Carrie, my 2nd Kevin, Gloria & Karina are all coming next weekend. I think this is first time Dana will have been home since Ben's passing. Covid etc just kept them home, Adam & his family at my house meant I had no guest room.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

A friend gave me a 75 gallon aquarium with all the supplies and equipment and tropical fish Can't seem to choose photos from my phone 😔

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How many dolls did you do this year?
Sounds like you're going to be busy this weekend. Enjoy the family.
Susan, how nice of your friend. Can't wait to see photos.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We will donate 70 used dolls with clothes and we have I think 12 new with clothes. We will have at least that many kits packed and ready for next year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's a lot of work.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

reported spam

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening,

We have bad weather warning for our area, just went out and put a few things away in case.

Drats, bet DG wished there was an automatic checker to get rid of spam, thanks for letting DG know.

I don’t know where the days are going but seems i start my day and kids are here at 4 for their lesson. GiorGia finished her flannel p.j. Bottoms so left early, brought her flannel she wants to make her boyfriend a pair for Xmas home to wash, so much shrinkage.

Lordy Pat, that is one heck of a lot of dolls and work, maybe as you’ve done them for so many years you’ve learned all tricks And comes easy?

Lindakay, do you have a surgery date?

Susan, aquarium is mega work is it not? Jeff has on large one, maintenance is on his phone where he can see fish, feed fish etc..i love watching them when he visits. Where can you purchase fish for it. How is the deck looking.

Dianne, sure hope you don’t get the storm they are calling for tomorrow. Imagine tornado warning.

Hope all your families are safe re the next storm hitting Florida. Just came to me, didn’t hear how New Orleans made out last week when they Said it would hit Texas and LA

Deb, hear anything re commercial?

Only 6 but I am tired so heading to bed

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No surgery date yet. Waiting to hear from workers comp.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, could not fall asleep and stay asleep last night, so up and at it.storm is stirring so I’m going to play in sewing room today, at least till 4 when Peighton arrives for her lesson.

Pat, when it’s through Workman’s Compensation the don’t move quickly do they.

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Spammy posts removed. Thanks for the heads up! These were kind of ordinary as far as spam goes (although sick) My best ones this week were selling 'death spells' to cast on unfaithful lovers.

Also thank you to everyone who entered the Pixel County fair...a number of you were among the winners. Your participation was much appreciated.

Latest little baby quilt...I'm on a HST kick it looks like. I keep baby quilts simple so the new moms will actually use them. Quilting is simple with a walking foot and I intend for them to go in the washer and dryer frequently. I want my quilts to be loved to pieces...literally.

Thank you Melody for removing spam

Got my laugh for today, you must just shake your head at some lol

Love the soft look of the baby quilt, nothing more touching than to see a baby/toddler playing with the quilts made with love. Next baby quilt I need I will try this one.
Must go see photo’s of winners.

Sharon said she had fabric I might want to use for another border on that lighthouse panel, was all gung ho to work on it to get it on the Frame today so off I went to her house, nope nothing matched so then I got home and started to look around in all the fabric totes and cupboards, and before you knew it, my concern was not working on the quilt, but organizing all those boxes. I’d say I’m about half done

Thought I might sit for a while and have a hot bowl of soup for early supper as Payton gets here just before four and all of a sudden I feel a cold coming on runny nose, maybe with the hot soup

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thank you melody. Beautiful quilt.
Betty, workers comp is a pain. They are never in hurry yo get you what you need.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Melody, for removing the spam. Lovely quilt.
Betty - once set up, the aquarium is easy enough. Once in awhile I have to remove dirty water & replace with clean, but I have 2 algae eaters inside. It's very calming and beautiful. Not getting more fish, so only have to feed 3x a day - not a big job to sprinkle food in. I don't have an app on my phone for it - I do it the old fashioned way lol
I need to buy some rubber coating for the bottom layer of the deck, then hopefully Ken will put the upper layer of outdoor plywood on it and I can put more rubber coating on the new layer.
DeAnn & Peter put up my "fireplace mantel" shelf under my picture window as a plant shelf - looking good!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sun is trying i hard to come out.

Went for chiro at 8:30 then a bit of shopping, now I’ve a lazy on.

Susan, things are really coming along for you, was thinking this morning that some halloweens we have had snow and it stays, that is just around the corner and you get that fluffy stuff before we do so not a wonder you are trying to get all done

Lindakay, Roger had an accident, he had surgery at Sunnybrook Hospital, well known for their surgery outcome and dealt with Compensation injuries,he was told he might not walk again, went through his throat, anyway, the hoops he had to do were unbelievable. I always thought they were an agency to help the injured but think that has changed. Hope you hear from them soon.

Got to push myself, Ari comes at 4 for her lesson, sure don’t want to lay on couch lol day. I could get up though and make a few batches of banana muffins as I was in Walmart and they had a large bag for $1.15

How is the weather in your neck of the woods and what are you up to

Ohhh Ziggy wants in, guess I have to move after all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let Ziggy in, did my banana muffins and here I is with a question

Mind my own business or not??

This morning driving in to the chiropractor I took Williams Street which is a fairly quiet street, except during school hours, and the start of commercial work day. There were two cars in front of me who passed on a solid line to get ahead of a vehicle it wasn’t until I was the one behind this vehicle that I noticed it went from shoulder to the other side of the driving lane of oncoming traffic back on the shoulder doing 10 miles an hour, 15 miles an hour, then back off the side of the road, so I thought for sure it must be a drunk driver.

I had my iPad sitting next to me and could see that shortly we would be getting a red light and I could snap a photo of the license plate and the individual driving because if it was a drunk driver I would report them as I do not want in someway to be responsible. Should there be an accident and who knows it could be one of my family.

I was right we did get a red light. I did take the license plate, but it was a little old lady, yes, a little old lady I would say older than I who should never be behind the wheel, so what does one do .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Maybe she was having health problems?
Our weather is cooling down. Mid 80's most of the time.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

You send in the info Betty. You also save HER life. She absolutely should not be driving. "Minding your own business" is not the responsible or kind thing to do.

Susan, so good to hear things are looking up for you,.

Yes, after this much time we have learned a few tricks to speed things up on the doll project. We are always looking for ways to make it better and more efficient. Marie got them all delivered for storage at St Vincent de Paul's. They will hold them for Christmas.

Contractor and helper came, finally got the 2 cabinets put together with a top in the long arm room. We are waiting for glue to cure. The 2 cabinets were mismatched and I will attach handles to the one to help it blend in. I have some painting to do on it as we needed to get the cabinets the same height. One needed to be taller, the other shorter so changes on the kick board on both. We had reflective film put up on the windows, I have sun-blocker curtains to put up.

We got the last piece of work done on my bedroom floor, the guide for the closet doors, the curtains hung, mirrors and the rest of the art I wanted hung.

Today will be about running errands & baking. I finished 4 washable fleece covers for the big dog pads that have been completed much earlier. FINALLY, I will get them delivered to the shelter. More donations to the thrift store & stuff to a different pet shelter charity yard sale. Drop some finished blankets off to Linus project. Somewhere in the day make 4 dozen chess tarts for my brother.

My first of the company arrives Friday night, the last of it leaves Monday. Having junk food in the house will be difficult for me and it ALL goes home with them when they leave.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I am smilling Pat, I made a few dozen of banana muffins, just wrapped them up and into freezer they go as each time I was passing by I grabbed one, best make them a little less accessible.

Will be nice for you to have the family, you will be a happy exhausted by the time they leave. Community sure is lucky to have you.

80’s Lindakay, is that the heat you enjoy the most, is it humid as well?

Spoke to Jeff about the elderly lady driving, he asked me if it were I? Brat
Said to let it go, could be a zillion reasons why she had to drive herself somewhere.

Watching CNN all afternoon, poor Florida, they no sooner have one tornado they get another.warning out for Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. 4-5 hundred miles wide.

Showing Fort Myers, looks like new buildings and here they are in danger again.

Mother Nature not happy!!

Sure hope you and your families are out of danger.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Meant to tell you that Dave is pretty much the same, family are having meeting with discharge nurse Sunday. No possible way he can come home so not sure what the plan is..Linda is ready for a breakdown.

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

praying for Linda & Dave - hoping that he settles down to staying PUT! I know that it's hard for both of them, but it's best that he's taken care of, and Linda is certainly not able to give him the level of care he needs.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I count my blessings that Ben did not fight hard about discharging too early. That was rarely an issue. Prayers for Linda and Dave continue.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, do they have hospice care in Canada. Where he can go home and nurses come in to take care of him?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

We have home care in Canada where nurses come in every day, and it's possible to have live-in help, but they have to have their own bathroom & bedroom.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hospice care is when someone is about to pass. Like Todd was. Knowing there isn't anything the doctors can do to help any more. So we brought him home with hospice care nurses, to keep him pain free with strong meds.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Beautiful day here, drats wrote a pest this morning wouldn’t send, the last few days i have to sign in, then says safari can’t open it, every time I post, annoying to say the least!!

Pat, bet you are in 7th heaven having family with you. David isn’t fighting going home, mentions it the odd time, it’s trying to determine next step that is getting Linda down, she feels overwhelmed with having to put him in a home care facility because she can’t manage.

Dianne, haven’t seen you post, hope all ok

Deb, all ok in your neck of the woods

Susan, don’t know if they do the live in here in Ontario? Will have to check it out..

Guess Linda and family having a meeting tomorrow with discharge nurse and will answer many of their questions.

Yes we do have special care and hospice, it’s just the hoops and all specialist being on same page.

Could barely move yesterday, must be the weather, went to bed at 6, i must have dozed off and woke to Jeff coming in at 7. Was nice chatting about his trip and views on different provinces. I cooked spaghetti, was enough for 3, i had already eaten so didn’t have any. Before going to bed i started to clean the kitchen, he said leave the spaghetti out as i likely will eat it all up, he must have been hungry!
Today he is gone riding with my brother Mike,

Got more kids registered so had to run into Midland for wood and brown paint, watered and gave a light water stain to 11 kits, 110 pieces lol. Must be humid as they are taking forever to dry. I took 1 kit/fixings and a pumpkin to trailer park so Mel and Greg could help Grayson do it. There was Greg rocking Rose in a rocking camping chair, never see him without one of the kids. Kyle/Destiny and Grayson weren’t there, when i got home the boat was gone so guess they are getting all the boating 8n before they have to put it away.

I have a bag packed, Sharon will pick me up at 9 for Buffalo. Had my bath and meds and wondering if i should cook something out for Jeff but then he might eat out before coming home so I will just wait.

Just copied my post, let’s see if it posts or not
