That doesn’t seen right Pat to have so many issues getting permit, how big is the addition? So many hoops to go through. Seems odd as you say to not review entire plan and provide all the issues at once and yes, permit money grabber revenues. That doll I’d absolutely adorable..was that her hair or you’ve made it with wool..so long since I’ve seen a cabbage patch doll I do not remember the hair..cutest dress. Every year you both contemplate not working on dolls or cutting down so you’ve less stress but you and Marie always find the strength to get many done for the children. For some of the doll outfits could you not make up a kit for the older girls to add the embellishments themself?
Susan, you are right, the provider should have staff working on your time schedule. I got a simplified monitoring system, it’s a 3D lightbulb, switch has to be on, i taped the switch so there wouldn’t be any mishaps..hope you win at cards.. love the clay pot bike
Teapot, it’s. Nice to have cooler temps and rain, so many though don’t get just rain but get torrential rain. I only had a few hummers this year, only a couple of monarch butterflies as well, maybe they decided your area is more to their liking.
I dropped off at Darlene and Johns..his gold was cancelled yesterday and again today because of the rain. Darlene loved her 6 bowl caddies, 2 will stay here and 4 for Myrtle Beach, said her colours down there were in blues so guess i picked good colours. She said your glasses should arrive later this week or early next, the2nd set shortly after..what 2nd set?? Just thought you should have 2 pairs incase something happens to a pair..shaking my head.
We were talking in about a food grinder i want to get for mom as she has trouble chewing, she went to grab her phone, i quit talking, she skied me more about what i wanted to buy, nope, not falling for that one, i say ‘I’d like’ and next thing i know it’s at my door..will have to watch myself.
I left because my head was so bad, couldn’t focus my eyes, laying down, maybe I get get a few winks in before my student gets here at 4:30pm
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chatting with friends old and new..
Get to feeling better Betty.
I still have mega pain almost constantly. Had a melt down at PT on Mon. She said I need to get counciling. I know I'm depressed but what I need is relief from pain. When I got home, I sent primary a message via my portal of all that happened. She told me to try taking two of the pain meds just before going to PT. Said it might make me drowsy. Tried that today, no less pain but I felt very dizzy. She has now ordered me a different med to try. So we will see. Startin to feel like a hypochondriac. Still no benefit from the PT but I guess it's early yet, I'll keep trying. I will not give them a reason to say it's my fault.
I am so sorry Karen. Recommending counseling didn't seem like the right response. I hope the PT helps soon and that at least effective pain management can be found.
Praying you get relief soon Karen. Constant pain isn't fun.
For those of you thst know Jaye from Dave's garden. A friend of hers posted yesterday that she is in the hospital. She has had a stroke. She has type 1 diabetes, and was supposed to be controlled by a machine she uses, and for some reason that machine failed to work properly and it wasn't giving her the insulin she needed. So her sugar went really high.
I called her yesterday when I found out. The stroke has affected her right leg and arm. She can still talk. She will have to go through therapy before can go home.
So sorry to hear that Lindakay, don’t know if I would totally put my faith in a machine. Praying she will get well enough to go home, will be difficult with her living on her own. How is your sister today?
Thanks for update Pat on Forest. Can see why he would want to find an on l8ne gardening thread.
Karen, there are no words, how frustrat3d you must be, here is hoping things improve.
I haven’t felt well for several days couldn’t focus, eyesight not the best. This morning i put Dr.Ho pads to my temples, helped for a bit then eyes started jumping.
Dr’s office called, imagine, without my calling him, his assistant asked if I had a call as yet Re monitoring my blood pressure, nope, she asked me if my blood pressure machine was accurate, now how would I know that!
So off to Walmart, take my blood pressure with their machine then take it with mine and see if they jive
Was higher this morning, still a tad high
2 poiInts is pretty accurate Betty!
Linda, not the first machine that I have heard that malfunctioned. I am sure when it's working, it's fabulous but the risk to health when it fails is scary!
I am working on the contents of one of my barns. Sorting & hope to get one section done today. I will load the donate, pitch discard and make contact with those items that are destined to new home.
They gave you this I V today?
Yes, still at hospital
Cat scan came back ok
He actually just came in to see me
Says. “Remind me why you are here??” Imagine
I lost most of mine Susan, glad they are plentiful
Suan, your Queen d'Nuit looks like an Oriental Poppy or maybe a Cosmos. Are they related?
Betty, without looking at a chart, I doubt most MDs remember.
I think it's really nice ..
Betty - here's hoping this new med helps with your tummy problems.
Pat, it's actually related to Hibiscus. I was mistakenly told it was Queen d'Nuit.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDPkmN_yFP8
The white & purple look rather queenly though :)
REALLY pretty, my Rose of Sharon has lots of little seedlings I need to pot up for my Niece so she can use them in the school plant sale this coming spring.
Welcome AHVCCenter, we hope you join us.
Betty are you home? Sending positive thoughts and huge hugs.
I am in my normal spot on the couch on my back patio. Beautiful day. Going to be in the high 80s all day.
Betty, I am sorry you are in the emergency room. But your blood pressure is a little higher than a tad high. Funny you found the Christmas sock. I always find things when I am looking for other things. My step-son's AC was not working and he called out a tech. The thermostat batteries were dead. He still charged him for the service call but checked the unit for any problems. Betty, are they saying if you guys are going to get any of the rain from the hurricane coming up the Atlantic Coast.
Pat, a remodel is a mess. One thing is you have to bring everything up to code. Hard to do sometimes. You two will need to have a lot of patience. Getting the permits is one of the hard parts.
Susan, that is rude for your neighbor to unplug your security and then not plug it back in when done. You cannot unplug my security. If you do so, it will set off the alarm.
Karen, shame on the PT tech. she obviously ha never been in that much pain.
My time is up, I need to get to gardening. I will return this evening.
Yes, Sharon, I have lived thru several remodel projects. The biggest was gutting my entire kitchen & starting over!
Afternoon
Susan, i didn’t have a tummy ache and no pills to take home..they just gave me iv with meds to ease the headache and lower blood pressure.
Dianne I am home, doing nothing. The would have been a great day to be working outside..are you feeling well enough to get out..does your wood come in a few weeks?
Kare, how is it going? You
Ahvccenter, hope you q stay and chat.
Deb, have you made the trip to drop off one of the dogs?must be heartbreak8ng to take them away from their sibblings?
Pat, might be simpler if you were to both sell your homes and buy something that fits your needs.
Sharon, i haven’t looked at the weather, hoping we get no part of the storm. I think what we need is a book to make entries of things we put away that we know we will fine easily, that would be some big book. Lol is this your transition time in the gardens, a time you get to sit and enjoy. Now the battery situation would have been embarrassing.
Slept most of the morning, vision and headache still with..Sharon just called, she and her daughter Nikki are going next door to Shannon’s, i said no but she said I’ll just let you have a few bites of mine lol may go, just means I would have to get dressed.
My niece Tonya, midland pharmacist dropped in for a visit. She was in USA last week so i got treated to a fall pillow and some fall fabrics.
In between I’ve had so many calls that i haven’t had the chance to nap, feeling i want to.
Greg just called, not a wonder my blood pressure didn’t jump up higher, no faith in my doctor, nor do I but there are no doctors around here so you have to stay with who you have.. says he should see his patient just not phone calls..our medical situation although better than most isn’t what it once was..think government should say now that Covid is under control doctors should be seeing their patients one on one.
Here is Sharon, better get myself up
Betty - I'm confused. The description in the new meds you have said it will help speed the healing of heartburn, and ulcers & sores in your esophogus (which connects your stomach & mouth), etc, so naturally I figured you were having tummy issues, too.
I got the cement slabs into my car, and now waiting for help to get them into my backyard. I'll deal with them in the spring.
That was the attachment photo Susan of meds they gave me which I couldn’t figure out by their description why they would give me it for high blood pressure and severe headache.
Head still not right but better
Lovely supper, mine came home in a container, who can eat ribs, 17 strips..Sharon ate 6, Nikki 7 and 4 for me for tomorrow’s supper.
Are you home Lindakay? How is your sister?
Betty, I think I would think twice about taking that med. Praying you are feeling better soon.
Yes, I got home last night about 8. Was in bed by 9. It was a long day.
My sis is doing ok. Hospice was there today, they gave her a larger dose of fentanyl patches, as well as her morphine she is taking. Because her pain keeps increasing.
Nice and cool in Texas. Only about 80 and light rain.
Linda, I am grateful hospice is doing what they can to control your sister's pain.
Susan, I am surprised you plan on waiting until spring to deal with the cement. I bet you get started before then!
My neighbor is having a huge yard sale and Marie & I decided to piggyback onto it and see if she can't get some of the 1000 boxes of puzzles sold.
Betty, the issue is finding a property that has a HUGE room for a sewing area for both of us and long arm machine. Guess we will see; we don't have the bids yet on the addition. We saw a property, more out of curiosity than anything. It had so many positives about it, but the negatives and timing just don't make it feasible. Also, moving Marie out of that house would be a BIG job!!! Bless her heart, she is REALLY trying to declutter and thinning out stuff!
Marie's daughter and family are coming for Thanksgiving. That will put a small kink in our timing of getting "my rooms" ready. We need to either get the 2 rooms completely DONE, or not start until after they leave. We will put a door between 2 bedrooms, take up the carpet in the 2nd bedroom, replace it with laminate. That will serve as a sitting room for Stanley & I. Until /unless we can solve Stanley's "dog hating" attitude, he will be confined to those 2 rooms.
Evening, was a perfect day weather wise.
Likely will take you a few days Lindakay to get back on the right time and also flying takes a lot of energy..nothing like being home. 80 that is my ideal weather, bet the rain is a bonus.
Lordy Pat, i can’t even imagine the amount of work getting ready to move in together would mean, i couldn’t do it
Talking about overload, my brother Mike and SIL Kim drove over from Wasaga beach to drop a lot of various types of fabric off. 2 rolls are beautiful fur, expensive quality, he has 4 grandchildren and I a great grandchild, might see if enough to do 5 bears and maybe get some ultra suede for paws and embroider their initials.. would be a good time to cut fur outside. I already put Christmas and children’s fabric away, tomorrow I will have to find a tote for the rest.
I am thinking of calling it a night..
Might get comfy in bed online for patterns to use up those beautiful fall prints I was given… do any of you have any suggestions
What a gift that was. Fall fabrics can be used for table toppers, runners, bowl cozies...
None from me Betty. You know I do not sew. Miss Emma started out yesterday feeling a little under the weather. Did not want to eat her breakfast. That didn't concern me until she threw up her dinner. Then this morning she threw up on our walk. So I waited on her breakfast and only fed her a small amount of kibble and a soft scrambled egg. She ate that so I guess she only had an upset stomach. So that is basically the reason I didn't do much today. I did cut up two chicken breasts and made fajita stuffings. That will give Brian something to eat for a few days.
Our high temp today was 89. And no appointments next week. Will be a beautiful time to get caught up on gardening.
Pat, my cats and dog get along. It will just take time. Another thing about moving, it helps with de-cluttering. My neighbors across the street moved the end of July, this year, and they was totally surprised how much un-necessary things they had everywhere, out of sight. They had been there 20 years. They actually rented a U Haul truck and drove to San Diego with one of their daughter's "things". But daughter did come to Vegas to sort through things so they did not have to haul junk. They also had two storage units they rented. Those are gone. Many items, they sold, donated some and some went out on Bulk day for garbage. In this neighborhood, if anything is out for bulk day that is usable, the different crews that drive here for work, usually pick it up. Good idea on the puzzles. That will clear out a lot of space.
Linda, so pleased you are back home for a few days. How is the pup?
Hugs to you all.
The pup is growing so fast.
Linda, she is so pretty and growing like a weed!
Sharon, doesn't that just scare you to death! Stanley does not throw up often but when he does, I worry!
Betty, I am sure those bears will be gorgeous! Please pics when you get them done
It really helped that I had done some serious decluttering and getting rid of things I needed but did not have room for when Adam & Andrea were here. Marie & I have decided to completely clear my garage and store the things we are selling here.. Marie lives quite a distance out of town so trying to sell anything from her house is not a good idea. I live "in town". We will have a LOT of duplicates but of course some of those we can't sell until we live together! We both have wonderful Kitchen Aid mixers for instance. We sure don't need 2!! We are going to have LOTS of beds to sell!
I got over half of the puzzles sold today of ones I brought here. When the garage is cleaned out, we will bring the rest of the puzzles here & I will list them for sale. I have chairs, storage bench https://www.brylanehome.com/products/88-gallon-basketweave-deck-storage-bench/1042174.html?dwvar_1042174_color=4314846 and other unnecessary items listed already. We are working on it!
How did Marie get so many puzzles. Another beautiful day in the desert. High will be 92 about 5pm. I have two different plants that come up for winter. They are starting to pop up, so winter must be on the way. Emma seems to be feeling better today. She ate her breakfast.
I have an open calendar all week. Love those kind of weeks.
My sister and he son both have Covid. They were here the week before and think they got it on the plane from Vegas to Santa Barbara. Not bad. Like a head cold but they both tested positive.
Betty, the quilt rack was such a find. Saw it on Facebook. We should all get together on Facebook. I post many photos on Facebook that I cannot download on DG.
Linda, you look terrific.puppy is really growing.
For the last couple of years, all Phil did was put together a puzzle. At his best, he did one 300 piece puzzle a day. He could not do the bigger puzzles because the pieces were smaller and harder for him to handle. I think Marie just didn't know how to sell them when she knew no one would drive out to Burbank to buy them. And how do you display them?? I had them in boxes under the table, spread out on the table and sitting on the garbage can with sale sign on it next to the road.
After church, Marie and I started on my garage. I doubt I will put the beds in there but the rest of the sale stuff will get moved to the garage. It will make it easier to show something and avoid people coming into my house. It will also give me a good opportunity to "up sell", sell more than what the buyer came for. Turns out I am pretty good at that.
Gosh it was hot working in there. We totally sweated thru our clothes.
You are working too hard Pat, can’t imagine doing that much work. Think you have to be a barterer to sell and buy, but know from over the years you Re great at both. With heat as it gets where you are don’t the mattresses get a moody smell?
Sorry to hear about Covid resurfacing Sharon, it’s not in the forefront of our thoughts anymore but it’s there. How is Emily?
How is your sister today Lindakay? 17 lbs, going to be a big size..bet she misses you when you are away.
Most I did today was cut out a brown bear, if i didn’t have to cut in direction of the fall of the hair I might have gotten a 2nd one out of that piece. The roll is black, I’m not fond of black teddies.
Dianne, have you been getting all this rain? How are you feeling?
Deb, Sharon was all ready to leave for Tennessee to breed her dog but vet says likely tomorrow!
Karen, you ok
Susan is it a walkway you are making with the cement?
I’m in bed, fighting distorted vision and headache today, blood pressure high, thinking tomorrow i will force myself to stay in bed. Hurrah, got an in-house doctors appointment for Thursday vs just a phone call.
Another day in the garage, we only put in about 6 hours. We are making headway. I sorted stuff into boxes by category & will try to sell the boxes for a set price for the whole box.
Goodness there are a LOT of mechanic's tools that I am clueless what they are. I sent home a lot of the car stuff to Marie's son. I also sent him the rest of my canning stuff. He & his wife have a side business of selling pepper products. They grow the peppers, dehydrate them & sell the dried product.
Betty, our weather here is VERY dry so unless something gets rained on, it's not going to mold.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Betty.
Glad you get to see the doctor Thursday.
Kathy is declining quickly. She is spending more time in bed and asking for morphine more often. She can hardly walk even with a walker.
Pat, good luck with your sorting and selling. That's a lot of work.
I imagine the "In person" appointments are as rare as hen's teeth. I am happy to hear you get a face-2-face finally.
Pat - I can't do all the projects I have to do........ This weekend I hope to have a (almost 16!) young man help me clean out my veggie garden and also help me install my up/down blinds. This morning I'm going to a line-dancing class, this afternoon Tuesday Social Group, and tonight Crib. Line dancing & crib are in the same town, and crib is at our senior centre. On the run lol I have the table top sanded & stained, and 3 legs on. Waiting on the 4th leg at Randy's place. That man is SO slow. Thurs is our Senior monthly meeting (last one was June & now we're back). So many things to do........ I have more to do, but no time to put it here. Must dash.
Glad you are seeing the doctor Betty. Will Sharon be able to get her dog bred? Does she need to drive to Tennessee?
One of my pups, the girl I'm keeping, broke her baby canine tooth and it split, there's a crack that goes below her gums. She goes tomorrow to have that removed.
LindaKay, prayers for your sister.
Deb
Ouch, bummer about the tooth Deb. The vet told my sister to not allow her dog big bones to chew on as she has broken a couple of back teeth.
