You will LOVE your "new" table when you get your paint on it! Doesn't it feel good to make something your own?
Marie & I are considering either doing some remodeling on HER home or buying something else together. It's a LOT to consider and I have some concerns that we are exploring. A friend's sister has a huge home with 2 living spaces, a shared kitchen and laundry. We have not seen it yet, the owner & husband are not yet ready to sell the home, but that time is coming. This whole thing (living together) will easily take a year or more to happen.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chatting with friends old and new..
Good afternoon everyone. We had about 30 - 45 min of a very loud T&L storm but the sun is shining now. I will be in the 80's and 90's the rest of the weekend.
Well my vertigo came back big time. Yesterday I was able to walk into the other room and sit in a chair for about an hour. I had to get to Foodland today. I am at my best when I first wake up so at 7:50am I was at the grocery store waiting for them to open. I have to be careful I don't turn my head suddenly or BAM. I'm able to sit up again this afternoon after I laid down for a couple of hours. I appreciate your caring.
Zeke has been snuggled right up to my side except to eat and go out in their enclosure. Today Hailey, Keiran's sister came down and took Zeke for a couple of hours. He came back with his tongue dragging on the ground. Chaos can't get up on the bed unless I help him but he lays on the floor beside me.
Loved the photos Karen.
Betty is there any type of celebration in your area? There is a church service in the park on the opposite side of the lake from me tomorrow. Plus there will be a band in the later afternoon tomorrow. Last week there was a band on a pontoon boat that drifted up the lake and into the next lake.
LK the quilt you made for your sister is gorgeous. You put some light into your sister's day.
Pat doing a reno with your sister sounds interesting. My DH and redid a couple of houses in Toronto so when we bought the farm house we thought we were ready for anything. Not!!! We did the living room first and started to tear down the walls. Not a great idea as it was plaster not drywall. What a mess! Plus my hands proved to be allergic to the horse hair in the plaster. Needless to say in the rest of the house we put drywall over the strapping we put up.
Hope to BBL. Be kind to yourself ladies.
Afternoon all, gorgeous day although but for watering for15 minutes I’ve been inside.
Who knows Susan, now that you are on the list as a group you might get more school kids doing their hours, hmm think in order th graduate from grade 12 they need 100 hrs?
Pat, after all your work you wouldn’t want to move would you? Marie is likely restless right now, Sharon has a large home, she is always saying maybe i should move in and have basement which is ground level with patio doors but nope, want to finish my days here or at least as long as aI can.
So happy for you Dianne to be moving a tad better..how long do your episodes last? Has it not been about a year since your last attack? Will Hailey be able to come over like Kieran did and maybe help a tad? I shake my head when I think of you having to do that wood. Have you contemplated not heating with wood although wood is a different heat, real heat! I do not see anything advertised for this weekend, don’t you think in small communities such as we live in the committees are burnt out with May 24, Canada Day and soon fall fairs that it’s too much for them. I had thought I’d go for a ride to Grandma Lamb’s tomorrow but too much construction.
I kept busy today and am tired..had my bath and thinking of getting comfy in bed.
I started my morning early, made 2 batches of plaster of Paris for pumpkin pies, got a call from Joanne and Henri, they were on their way next door at Shannon’s for breakfast and wanted to treat me, i enjoyed our time together.
I also gathered fall fabric and thought I’d use it and make Tanya a throw, have about 1/2 done.I’d probably rest better if I stayed up til 8 or so.
Grr that system Darlene and John set up for the house is driving me crazy, tells me to look out back, then out front, think i will check how to disconnect
Wonder where teacup and Forest got off to.
lol love your idea, Betty, of kids needing to do community work in order to graduate! This 13yo is doing community service because (as the worker said) he made some bad choices and ended up having to do restitution.
Dianne - sorry to hear that your vertigo is back!
Beautiful day out there, I’d have to say, my kind of perfect day!
Susan do they not have that mandate in Alberta? i was wrong, it’s only 40 hrs.
Can’t get your grade 12 without it.
Lindakay, how is your sister doing today?
Bet Karen is still in the kitchen making jam.
I am hoping Dianne is well enough to be sitting out in the s7nshine for a tad.
Was up at 5, although you would never know it I’ve been busy, busy.
Worked on the throw I’m doing for Tonya, she is picking up some goodies from Hobby Lobby and will drop these treasures off on her way to work next week so I am hoping I can finish her throw.
i set a fire in the pit as there was no wind and got a lot of limbs/branches burn, while doing that I cleaned out what I could in back shed.
Of course with fall in the air I brought a few totes in, I’ve far too many quilt/throws, time to give some away bot be making more lol
I fluffed the quilts in dryer and added some spices, sure smell nice in here.
I set out 2 of the 3 pies I poured in hopes the sunshine will dry out the moisture. If it does perhaps i can sit and paint them tonight.
Up so early I am thinking it should be lunch, tummy telling me I am hungry.
Absolutely stunning day here. Sun is shining with a nice breeze. It's mid 80's and will be even hotter as the week progresses.
Vertigo is still haunting me but if I am careful not to move too quickly or move my head suddenly I can sit in the recliner. I am going to sweep and mop the floors so I'll see how I feel afterwards.
Betty you would think the lake would be packed with people and boats. No one out there at all. My US neighbours have company and they are usually noisy. A happy noisy but we can hear everything they are talking about. They'll have fireworks tonight.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weather Betty and I have. I have no tan at all this year. After 2 bouts of skin cancer and rounds of topical chemo I tend to cover up or use a powerful sun screen.
Thinking about having a nap as I have been awake since 4:30 but might tough it out and go to bed very early.
Enjoy your day everyone.
Thanks for asking about me.
Our weather has been so hot and dry all summer. Mostly over 100 for the last few months. I’ve read a few things about it causing a kind of depression like in the winter though not as severe. We are so tired of it. We can’t be outside more than a little while. Meanwhile I’ve been fighting some digestive issues and wacky blood sugar readings so there is absolutely nothing going on other than napping with an occasional laundry or dusting.
Fortunately my husband keeps up with the dishes and vacuuming so the house doesn’t look like a disaster. But I enjoy trading about all your adventures and busy lives..
Betty - this is what I found, and it looks like Alberta is NOT part of it:
"2. Mandatory community service – schools Community service connected to education is increasingly prevalent. In its “mandatory community service” format, students are forced to perform unpaid community service work with penalties for non-compliance up to and including denial of graduation. Such programs exist in Canada, for example, Ontario requires 40 hours of community service; British Columbia and the Yukon both require 30 hours; and the Northwest Territories and Nunavut require 25 hours. Newfoundland is expected to expand its current 30-hour pilot project to a province-wide initiative in 2006. Unlike its service-learning cousin in which the emphasis is on learning through community involvement, the Canadian varieties tend to emphasize service with little to no curriculum support or opportunity to learn through reflection on community experience. Fey (2002) encapsulates the distinction between service-learning and mandatory community service this way: A good service-learning program has three components: preparation, action, and reflection. Community service, technically, consists only of action. Based on the laudable premise that early community involvement increases the likelihood of life-long volunteers, the structure of the current Canadian programs are least well suited to achieving that aim. It appears from at least some research results that the program structures thought to increase the chance of success have yet to be adopted here . Mandatory community service in Canadian schools will undoubtedly create positive experiences for some students, while for others it will seem as compulsory and punitive as its alternative sentencing cousins. The fact that students performing mandatory service a re consistently and pervasively called volunteers does not make them volunteers, but it will certainly cement the association between volunteering and servitude in the minds of some."
Same kind of day Dianne, one to be enjoyed.
Do you think it’s the gas prices that few are using their boats? When I lived on the lake this long weekend was always the quietest because people would leave today vs tomorrow to get kids ready for school Tuesday. Very difficult keeping your head straight, no sideways, no ups and downs. When you said no tan lines at all, I looked at myself and much the same..was way too hot for me to be enjoying outdoors sunning myself.
Sorry to hear you are not well Teacup, i would not like living in those temps, is it humid or dry heat. Am sure it’s difficult getting sugar under control.glad your hubby helps out..as you can see, there are only a few blessed ladies who have hubbies..maybe that is why we are so busy, possibly trying to fill in the void.
Lindakay, wondering how things are going with your sister.
Been messaging with an old friend Sharon, her son has been admitted to hospital, prognosis isn’t very good.her hip us and Trevor and Roger were best of friends, he died about 10 years after Roger, she remarried several years later and her hubby died during Covid but not of covid. Steven her son is my boys ages, mid 50’s..when saying prayers can you include him please.
Dianne when we get up as early as we do we wane out about now, trying to talk myself into going downstairs and finding something to do but know I won’t.
Best I go bring in the faux pies that are drying outside before the evening dew sets in.
I made the big trip back to Pioche, NV for my brother's 80th birthday. He has lived in Pioche his whole life. High school basketball hero, married a girl from a town 1 miles away 57 years ago. They had two children but helped raise hlf the kids in the county. He coached girl soft ball for the little league and high school for over 35 years. He takes care of all of the old people in town that have no family left. He is just an all around great man and person. We drove up yesterday morning and drove back last night. Went to church this morning for Great Grandson' blessing and naming and then came home. They are having a brunch right now but i bowed out. Tired from yesterday. Pioche is 5700 ft above sea level and it is a mining town built on the sie of a mountain. So you are either going up hill or down hill.
Dianne, you have your vertigo and I have my falling. I am very careful not to stumble because if I do, down I go. In my garden I use a ski walking pole. i would go to physical therapy and many people would wonder why I was here because I walked in like I owned the place. I would tell them, just watch an learn. Then they would hook me up to a harness, and tell me to close my eyes and walk. I could barely walk three steps with my eyes closed. This was part of the vertigo therapy.
Susan, that is great you get to use this young man for 10 hours. And he will probably learn alot. And he probably needs some hugs too.
Betty, if I was going out to eat, breakfast would be my preference. A nice quiet place, white tablecloths on the table, very quiet instrumental music or none, great conversation and a great cup of coffee to start.
Battery running low on my laptop. I will try to return.
Susan, "certainly cement the association between volunteering and servitude in the minds of some." For some this will probably be true. I remember telling a client who was suffering from depression and boredom, complaining of lack of opportunity to meet people to GO VOLUNTEER (He received SS because of his mental health was way younger than me). "You mean WORK without PAY? Why would I do THAT?" OK, guess that was not a suggestion he would act on! LOL
If I try to walk or turn with my eyes closed, it is NOT safe.
.
Teacup, while winter might be "darker", it has the same effect of keeping us indoors so I can see both would lend itself to depression.
Betty you lose your bet. I'm not making jelly or anything else. I'm barely functioning. Pains in my back have made it nearly impossible to walk. Did go to ER but after 7 hours and not even seeing anyone, We came home. No clue what happened. Went to pT for evaluation and it nearly killed me. She said at end she didn't think I would get back even 50% of the use of my arm and not lose much of the pain. I will try it for as long as I can stand it. I just feel at the end of my rope.
Morning all, nice sunshine even this early in the morning..
Start the morning checking in on all, Lindakay how is your sister doing today? Bet she is gets splice you are there.
There just are no words Karen, to have spent 7 hours in waiting room and still not be seen is bad medical care.wis some of us had some suggestions for you.
Susan I get great feedback from the kids. That come here, many are gong Ho to get them done in their first year. Too bad Alberta has not joined in.
Sharon aI am going to look up where Pinochet is..your brother sounds as thought he is an earthly Angel, community is lucky to have him. What is the baby’s official naming? You likely missed a wonderful breakfast. That therapy sounds amazing.
it’s getting light later in the morning and darker early evening. I will spend next few days indoor, our feel like 104F and high humidity is not conducive to enjoying the outdoors.
will take a quick out to the back and find another fall tote to bring in, water my flowers and by then it should be Vanessa’s lesson, told her 9:30.
Sharon is having an Afternoon birthday gathering for my mom on the 17th. Only place mom wants to stay with is with me so guess she will spend a week.
Guess i should go get my chores done so I can fit breakfast in before Vanessa comes
Good morning everyone.
I have never heard of mandatory community service for school kids.
Kathy is asking for more pain meds, and is in bed most of the day. She gets up about 8, falls asleep on the sofa about 9 for a few hours, has a snack, about noon, takes more morphine and has another 2 to 3 hour nap. Then eats dinner about 6, then back to bed for the night with more pain meds.
We are both glad to be with each other. But it's so hard to watch anyone go through so much pain.
Betty, I will keep your friends son in our prayers.
Forest, you are sure quiet, you ok?
Oh goodness Betty!! You can keep your humidity with heat if it means "feels like 104!" Our heat here is DRY. To me it's weird that I can handle the heat much better than the cold now as I have gotten older, but it's also true that I weigh less than before as well, so that probably accounts for a lot of it.
Linda, I hope your sister is having less pain.
Karen, I am so sorry you are having so much pain & they don't feel they have much to offer you to help.
ahvccenter- good suggestion & welcome. We hope you join us.
Sharon, I cracked up at your remark that your brother is taking care of the "old people" and you are celebrating his 80th birthday. He obviously is a young 80.
Teacup754, sounds like you found a keeper, he helps with household chores. My 2nd husband Ben, did almost ALL the cooking. He passed over 3 & half years ago.
Off to Marie's so we can bag the rest of the Legos
Linda, there are some school districts that require a certain amount of service as a requirement for graduation.
Another hot humid day here. The TH and I are inside with the AC on. There is no breeze so you really feel the heat. No one is on the lake so it is really quiet here.
Sharon I bet your brother was happy to see you at his celebration.
Still have vertigo but not all the time. I read some info online but all it does is frighten you. One site suggested a stroke is imminent. I know not to make sudden moves with my head. I'm able to get more things done around the house.
Oh Karen holding you close to my heart. I am so sorry you are in such pain and unable to get any relief. Your wait time in the ER is pretty much the same here. I did once take Dawn my cleaning lady into Kingston's ER and while I found a parking space they took her right in. She had a kidney stone and was just screeching in pain so I imagine they wanted her out of the waiting room. Shot of morphine helped immensely. She never did pass the stone that she knows of.
Susan here in Ontario students cannot graduate HS without putting in a certain number of hours of volunteer time.
LK it's hard to watch your sister in pain isn't it? Warren was the same - he would take morphine for pain eat a bit then sleep for a couple of hours. In order to get him to eat I would make whatever his heart desired. Often by the time I had prepared the meal he had fallen back asleep.
Zeke has lost his favourite ball somewhere. It's driving both him and me crazy as he keeps searching for it and taking me by the arm to a spot he can't reach. His ball is down at Keiran's as he left it there after playing with Piper. I usually have extra tennis balls on hand but he has managed to lose them all. He has a larger ball to play with but it's just not the same.
Has anyone heard from Judy or Liz?
Deb are the pups in their new homes? I can't remember - were you going to keep 1?
Stay safe everyone.
Dianne, that's about the same with my Sis. Wakes up, eats just small amounts of food. Ask for more pain meds, and back to sleep.
Last week we dipped down into the high 90s. Before that it was 100s with feels like temps in the 110s.Today we are at 99 with the forecast rising each day until over 100 each day the rest of the week. We needed to go to Lowe’s so I checked out the nursery section, just to see what was for sale. I saw some really pitiful Japanese maples with very crispy leaves. What a shame!
Yes my husband is a real keeper. We are coming up on 46 years and we know how lucky we are to have found each other.
One pup dropped off on Friday. Still need to make arrangements for the second boy to travel to his new home. I'm keeping at least one, still need to make some calls and some decisions on the others.
Deb
Deb, so PRETTY... how do you decide!
This was a boy I dropped off. I have too many boys at home, I'm keeping a girl. This is the puppy the stud dog owner picked. I think he's the nicest in the litter, I think he'll have fun with him at dog shows. It's hard though. Even though I've been telling myself almost from the beginning that he wasn't mine, he's going to Colorado, there were more than a few tears shed when I handed him over.
Deb, how many litters have you had to part with over the years? Is this a fairly new breeding project or have you been doing this for years? I just know, I could NOT do it. My fears and concerns over my female dog, add to that the pain of selling those puppies.... Nope, not me! LOL
Forest, we still have not heard from you. Are you OK?
We got the last Lego kit finished and I have 18 of this batch in my car . My 18 will go to Support, Advocacy & Resource Center, to be used now for the kids. Marie already delivered 17 to St Vincent de Paul, and she has16 now. SVdP's will be used for Christmas.
Marie washed the last of the Cabbage Patch dolls & they are drying. She is in the process of washing stuffed animals. We have not touched all the 18 inch dolls. I am encouraging her to clear a week from her calendar, so we don't have the kitting of the dolls take forever and be strung out all over the house for weeks. Her tolerance for the mess is MUCH higher than mine, guess it's good thing it's at HER house! .
Where oh where did the day go?? I get up awfully early but before i know it it’s late afternoon.
LindaKay hoping the Lord decides he needs an Angel shortly, can’t imagine being 8n that much pain and still fighting for life. Yes it’s hard watching our loved one go through so much, they wouldn’t give Roger pain meds as they said it could push him over the edge, liver couldn’t break down the meds, hello?? Who cares at this point! I do remember going across the street at the pharmacy and reading labels, guess you know what my next step was going to be, and that was fine with me.
It must truly be hard Deb seeing the pups do, i watch Sharon when it comes to that time and she is ok with it..she vets the new mom/dad and is confident they will have great homes, some have had several of her dogs.how far will you have to drive to meet up with next delivery?guess by now you know which is the better of the dogs to be shown.
Dianne, today is a good day for you to be texting in the big chair, not well enough yet to read?
The agencies & recipients sure are lucky to have you and Marie, fewer children without nothing for Christmas.
Teacup, weather is beyond hot here, so dry even the leaves are falling, doubt there will be a lot of colour this year.
Sharon, all the garden piles picked up by the landscapers. Hope your sister enjoyed her stay.
Joanne called asking me to go to Orillia for outing, wasn’t up to it. Then Theresa, Roger’s cousin who wrote a book on Thunder Bay Beach/Georgian bay dropped in, I ordered a copy of the book she wrote, seeing I wasn’t well when she had her grand book launch and I wanted to buy one for Suzanne for Christmas she dropped in with it..one less Xmas pressie to worry about. She was just leaving, we were gabbing and i put my arm down on the railing without looking and ouch bee stung me, Lordy those bee stings hurt, i mean it’s just a microscopic bite.
Karen, how are you today?
Giorgia started her 1st day of high school, she is resuming Tuesday after school classes, i was hoping next week but have a feeling she will be here at 4, kinda hoping starting day would be next Tuesday.
Ouch Betty!! I have a nest of wasps on the deck right outside the sliding door so will give them a spray at dusk. I sprayed once already but it obviously wasn't good enough. I am so scared of getting bit as I get really sick when I do and the bit swells up into a huge, red hot spot.
Deb I couldn't breed. I'd end up keeping them all. I thought about it years ago when I had Samoyeds but DH hit me with a bit of reality about how I wouldn't part with 1 pup. He knew me well. I'll shed a few tears with you when you hand over the puppy.
Hot, hot, hot here still. The TH are not interested in staying outside long not even for a short walk. I had Zeke doing doggie pushups to use up some of his energy.
Hope everyone is keeping cool.
I’m surprised Dianne that i haven’t been bitten long before now, never seen them in such numbers. Just went to Foodland and likely like yours the prices were beyond reason. Needed bread so came home with that, looked for something sweet to eat, decided I’d but a bag of blueberry muffin mix, think $5.99 and a lemon meringue pie filling.they were selling baked muffins 6 in a pack for $8.29, 1/2 a pie for $7.99..guess I will be baking early am. Met an old friend Tim , hadn’t seen him since his wife Debbie was living.
Can’t blame the TH for not going out, Ziggy has been laying on my bed in an a/c room with fan going, doesn’t seem in a hurry. The feel like here today is 104f, no air to breathe.
Was nice seeing Giorgia tonight, she was so excited to tell me her visit to P.E.I., her 1st day at school and breaking up with her boyfriend, her doing, she had me 8n stitches.
Shoulders are bad tonight so i am already comfy in bed.
104F was normal for Winnipeg summers. You know how everyone talks about "Winterpeg"? Well, Winnipeg could rightly be called "Summerpeg" too. Growing up it was "put the swimsuit on at 7am, and keep on until 10pm" and that was a humid heat. No "feels like" then - 104F was the real temp.
I think I've had 11 or 12 litters over the years. When I was younger parting with puppies didn't seem as hard. Next puppy gets dropped off in PA on Sept 22nd. Google maps says it's an 8 hour drive. We'll meet at her sister's house, and she invited me to spend the night, actually told me I must, but I think I'd feel more comfortable in a motel. The other two I don't have homes lined up for, yet, but, I have people who are interested.
Bee stings hurt like crazy. Praying that welt goes down soon.
Betty, we have all been praying that she gets her wings soon, so she doesn't have to suffer anymore.
Michigan Temps starting today are supposed to drop to mid 70's. I am so looking forward to cooler weather.
I sold my vintage oak pedestal table & chairs. I must have gotten it about 40 years ago, when Costco first opened up in Winnipeg & paid about $150 to $200 for it. It's in good shape, and a lovely set, but TOO large for my mobile home. It was rather overpowering next to my main door. I was going to sell it for $70 and got some pretty "interesting" queries from potential buyers. They wanted me to deliver it........ NO, and one just wanted the table. I told them "it comes as a set, and what you do with the chairs is up to you". My friends Dianne & Bea said I was practically giving it away & should ask at least $200. I edited the ad & that night a friend/neighbour called & paid the full price. They'll pick it up on Friday am. Sure glad I listened to Dianne & Bea. The lady had been in my home & seen the set, so was happy to be buying it.
Afternoon, here I am 1/2 hr early for my cscan, thought it’s always better to be a tad early.
Got to say it’s one heck of a scorcher, no air to breath so this morning i watered Shannon’s flowers, 8 barrels and a few hanging baskets then picked my to do chore, clean under zinc cupboards, yucky but did it. Been long time since i gave my vacuum a good clean so basically took it apart ..June visited for a bit, her sister Geraldine is nearing the end, her husband Stan the same, darn “c” so doctors etc are coming today to discuss the ‘end of life’ program, go together..
Lindakay, does Michigan have end of life option? Prayers coming your way
Deb that is a lot of litters,do you keep in contact with those who took a pup? Sharon messaged me that Sage is going in heat and I guess the stud is in Pennsylvania so she will be off shortly.
Phoebe was suppose to come at 4:30 but she is in a trailer schoolroom and came home yesterday exhausted and her mom wondered if we could skip today. I was going to rush doing a few things in town but now i can take my time
Best i send this because they soon will be calling my name
Susan, you are right, $70 would have been WAY too low and frankly $200 might have been! But hey, you have a buyer and it's a plus that it is someone you know and they will enjoy it !!
I have a realtor coming this afternoon to meet with me and start the process. I want to get some projects done & THEN list the house. Marie is calling a contractor to go over several different ideas for remodeling her house.
When assisted end of life was a hot topic in the state of WA I remember Marie being afraid "our mom would want to be the first". After her experience with Phil, I don't know if that would have changed her thoughts about it.
Ohhh, finally good rainfall, we sure need it…
we must have cross posted Susan, $$$ is better than taking up space..you can pickup something that makes you happy with the money.
Pat, my only fear would be you get comfy at Marie’s and something happens to her, what then. Are homes selling in your region. So did WA pass the law?
Well, that didn’t last long, it started to rain but seconds before i started to type this post, rain stopped and sun is out grr
Oh well, won’t have to water tonight.
Have Dr.Ho on my shoulders, nurse kept pressing the dabbler on my shoulder and must have aggravated it so best chance of it easing the pain is good old Dr.Ho.
That's 11 or 12 litters over almost 50 years. I do stay in touch with owners as best I can. I think at least half of the puppies produced since 2005 have never left.
So how many dogs do you have now Deb? Do you have a kennel?
Been trying to sleep for 1 1/2 hrs…about ready to get up and do something.
Bet the sandman is on some beach sunning himself.
Mare & I are working out the details of how we will handle the purchase, cost of remodel and the impact of one of us dying. We are considering a "nobody inherits anything" from the house until BOTH of us die or decide to leave/sell the house. It will be based on the total input/ratio of money contributed by each of us. I am not very concerned; Marie is very fair and honest. We will have all that written up by an attorney, our kids will be told in advance, so no one is surprised or expecting the remaining person to sell and get out just because one of us died.
Met with the realtor today, discussed things to work on & agreed that I likely will not list until January. This is a slow time & the market picks up in February.
Yes Betty, WA did pass the Death with Dignity law. You have to petition for approval and get a MD to sign off on it. B3
6asically, you have to show you have terminal DX and less than 6 months to live. https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=563310982&sxsrf=AB5stBgTyIUqtCwzrStWmSUmMdUF18kKaQ:1694067445834&q=Does+Alzheimer%27s+qualify+for+death+with+dignity%3F&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjHltaC7ZeBAxXeI0QIHcaHCJcQzmd6BAggEAY&biw=1705&bih=973&dpr=1
Morning, finally turned off my a/c and did not put furnace on YET.
Pretty much same law as here, I think I could sign the documents, lots of hoops to go through but so much better for family and the one living in pain. June’s sister is crying “why can’t I die now, it hurts so much”.
Have a funeral to go to in the morning, will be nice meeting up with cousins i haven’t seen in forever.
After my c-scan and X-ray yesterday I went to the optometrist who checked my eyes, holy wah $660 for glasses, told them I’d think about it, after funeral tomorrow will go to Michelle, my kids friend and see what she charges, if too much will order stateside as for $295 Canadian
An old building in my home town, about 10 miles away collapsed last night..lucky tenant survived.
Was up early, tummy thinks it’s been lunch hour for a few hours, eating a muffin and having a coffee, hope that will stop the hunger pains.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been working with faux food and real food. Have a set of pumpkin and serviette set, a thanksgiving throw and a faux pumpkin pie set aside for my nice, she picked me up some fabric while away on the weekend, her mom has a cottage in Sabrina so they crossed over Michigan border and shopped at Hobby Lobby, will be fun to see what they brought back for me.
We picked up our granddaughters (7 and 4) yesterday after school and had a few nice hours playing cards and doing LiteBrite ( remember that?). They are the reason we moved to the Dallas area after my retirement just before Covid hit. Best thing we ever did!
I agree Teacup754, you were so blessed to have moved closer to your grandkids BEFORE Covid!
Yes, Phil was literally praying to die. His faith did not allow for him to consider the Dignity provision. I am not judging right or wrong, that's between Heavenly Father and them. It was blessing that Phil passed, it's been over a month already. Quality over quantity is my prayer. I remember when my father-in-law had brain cancer, he had 1 really good month after the treatment ended and his kids came to see him, he went downhill and died the next month. I was so grateful that beautiful month and his kids coming to visit.
Dentist appointment and then over to my Sister-in-law Sharon's. We are going to put the forms up for a short walkway in cement. from her patio to her storage barn. We have been viewing tutorials for "dry pour cement" and THAT is the technique we are going to use for her walk. We will do a wet pour for the tiny little wooden ramp I need to replace. Maybe I will get to that next week, but I doubt it LOL.
Always nice to be near grandkids and great grands.. lite brite, I do remember that. Visited Dallas but didn’t get enough time there..went to Dallas Ranch and visited site where President Kennedy was shot and the museums then off to visit with Lindakay in San Antonio, best part of Texas lol
I did a pathway Pat, dug sod out in shape of stone, mixed cement and poured in each hole, that is about 15 years ago, still strong. Don’t overdo.
