Well for once I'm glad I was a busy body grandma. They took wee jack to U of M hospital at 5 A.M. after another night of him vomiting. He has Pyloric Stenosis which is a blockage and will have surgery today. And yes he was dehydrated. He'll be on my mind all day until I hear he's in the clear. Such a tiny one can sure grab your heart in a hurry.
Betty, looked like you were having fun riding in the parade. You are making such a difference to so many kids. They will never forget you. I remember neighbors who taught me fun things when I was so young.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Drop in, walk our gardens, come sit awhile…
Glad to hear they got him help. Sending prayers for the family.
Thank goodness Karen!!! I do hate it when professionals dismiss a problem as not important.
Linda, 8 hours in a car, driving OR riding, is my idea of a special torture!
Dianne, "excuse me", to Tasha & she moves is priceless!! I know teens with less manners. Our dumps still take mattresses, you might also be able to get rid of it to a family in need. Do you have Marketplace on facebook, or "Buy nothing"? Those are some of my local resources.
Deb, can't wait to hear about your puppy status!
Betty, when do you teach next? How is your strapless bra working out for you? Clever solution!
I worked for a couple of hours outside in the flower beds. I dug out all the variegated iris out of the front flower bed and only put back 3 small starts. They were crowding everything out and I was afraid they would choke out one of the few perennials I have ever special ordered. Too bad I can't remember the name of it! LOL I had a bar stool in that flower bed, took it out & I'm going to spray paint it and put new pink seat on it, then reinstall it.
I will take a 30 minute nap before going to pizza party with sewing friends.
Evening, been a busy weekend.
This morning I did some cleaning then sat outside with mom, there was a lovely breeze but then what you might have thought to was fog turned out to be smoke.
Oh Debbie you must be so excited, did test ever reveal how many puppies. Hope all Re born healthy..what is the most you’ve had in litter.
Lindakay, that would have been difficult on you doing an 8 hour drive..did you bring other belongings back with seeing as you are thinking where you are will be permanent home?
Dianne, our land fill does take mattresses but there is a charge. Same weather here, starting to hear rumblings.
As for talking to pets, Lordy i speak to Ziggy throughout the day. Some days he leaves and heads for another room, guess gets tired of listening to me.
Oops company here
Want to visit with mom before she leaves
Hope to come gab shortly
I went to San Antonio, not Del Rio. Nothing left to get. Everything was packed and brought up here. Lots of stuff still in storage. Slowly getting things out.
Linda Kay - am sure your sewing machine is out first lol
Heading out to a dermatologist to have a tiny lump removed from the back of my neck (no, hasn't grown & been there for 4 years). My Dr wouldn't remove it because I'm on bloodthinners & he would rather a derm Dr did it. It's not bothersome except for when I brush my hair, etc when I touch it.
Several members of my family (sister, Dad, niece & more) have had repeat skin cancers. It's always best to be sure & safe! Just avoiding the hassle of accidentally having one get caught & bleed is a valid reason to remove it!
Good luck with your doctor. Better safe than sorry.
Yes, sewing machine is out.
I spent about 4 hrs on the start of cleaning my 3 car garage. I filled up a very large garbage can. Ate blowing dust several times so immediately took a shower after walking Emma on her afternoon walk. I plan on working on it for at least 3 days. Just sorting items and pitching many. My neighbor, who is moving, has my other large garbage can. But tomorrow is garbage day, so I will have it emptied by 2pm. So I can fill it up again.
I have chicken wings marinating for my dinner. Best get out of this chair and put them in the oven.
My brother had his back surgery this morning and is already home. He had terrible sciatic pain and they said a disk had calcium build up and they went in and lazier took it out. It's a family thing from my mother's side.
I have not looked at my tomatoes today and must do that before I go to bed. Horn worms can take down a tomato plant in a day if you are not paying attention.
It was a hot one here. I think our high was 96. Not a cloud in the sky. Just blue skies as far as you could see.
Sounds like a lot of work for you. Don't over do it.
Deb, any puppies yet?

Deb, any puppies yet?
I cleaned up all the variegated iris that I dug up, bagged them up in lots and offered them on Tri-Cities Gardeners for free. I have people scheduled to come all day today to pick up bags of iris.
My contractor is working on the floors, I still need to find a pro to cut and install all my new baseboard. I have a few sticks to paint first.
5!!! Is that a lot for this breed? I am happy to hear they are doing well. Now maybe YOU can get some sleep?? could a friend take a turn watching mama & puppies and you get some sleep and catch up?
Congratulations.
Thanks for the update.
They are beautiful.
Evening, how did we get to evening… rained yesterday big time and again today!
Yikes, that is bad for your lungs Sharon, all that sand, are you able to wear a mask to do it in this heat? I saw a few of my tomatoes down, think because of the rain vs a worm.
Oh look at those adorable puppies Deb, i will have to ask same, is that a large litter? You will indeed need the week to get them into their routine, then what, will you be able to leave them all day?
Pat will your floors be lighter in colour after sanding or will they give it a tint.
Ziggy just got on my tummy wanting me to pet him but today i got a script, I’ve big bubbles of poison ivy all over my body, especially the right wrist. When in bed Ziggy sleeps to the left of me, i roll on my side to pet him with right hand..pharmacist thinks in this dampness/rain Ziggy is carrying the oil. I was given a cortisone cream to put on once a day, here is hoping it does better than calamine.
Sky opened up again and with a bit of smoke still lingering is looks so odd.
Hope your meds work for the itchies.
Judy had her surgery today. All went well. She is in her room resting.
I have never had a bout of poison ivy, nettles a time or 2 when visiting a cousin. They sound horrid. I hope you can get it cleared up and Ziggy stops passing it on to you!
Glad to hear Judy.s surgery went well..she has gone through so much..strong lady!
Prayers continue .
Thanks for the update on Judy, Linda Kay. Prayers continue for her.
The puppies are adorable :)
We cross posted, I did not see the post about Judy. Thanks for update.
Betty - funny thing, when I was reading about your bout with poison ivy, I was listening to a song called............ Poison Ivy, sung by The Coasters
LMAO!!
5-7 is an average size for a litter. By next week I'll be able to just run home at lunch to check on them. I've got a 4 day weekend from work coming up, so that will help. They can't regulate their body temperature, so I just need to make sure they're all close to mom, and not tangled in the bedding away from her.
Air quality here was supposed to be worst in the world according to the TV news. Very smoky from the Canadian wildfires.
Praying they get those fires put out soon.
My heart goes out to those of you dealing with the fires AND the fall out of the poor air quality. The air quality on it's "good days" is worse in China then on our worse.
Clayton is doing much better but I certainly don't take that for granted. He's staying in close contact with me and I appreciate that.
We can't wait to see more pictures of your darling puppies. Have you started to name them yet Deb?
Morning,yep still morning..
Pat i think it’s from the lily family, beautiful.
Clayton gave you such a scare that I’m thankful he is keeping in close contact with you as I am sure his words are never far from your thoughts.
Deb, they are so small, bet you are up half the night keeping watch over them..could you put one of those crib pads around mom and babes? Same here, open the door and smells worse than when i have the fire pit burning… warning to stay inside.
Susan I remember that song..sang it often. Be glad when these bags of oil dry up.
How are you filling your days Lindakay? Are you able to work in the tattoo parlour, that would be exciting seeing the designs.
Dianne, here is hoping you and TH are ok..am sure the smoke it hitting you as well
On my 3rd wash..
Love the smell of fresh bedding so i just put sheets on deck railings, won’t dry to touch, will fluff off in dryer..just came to mind, not such a good idea, likely smell smoky
What a good thread!
No names for the pups, yet. I need to come up with a "theme" for the litter, and then come up with registered names around that theme. The mother was from my Star litter (we had When Stars Align, When Stars Collide, Written In The Stars, Swinging On A Star, and Sky Full Of Stars), before that it was Prayer, (Livin' On A Prayer and Poems, Prayers, & Promises), and my boys are Spirit of the Hawk and Flight of the Hawk. Usually the names I use for them are people names, Luca, John, Charlotte, Bonnie, Klaus, Teagan.
A crib pad might contain them, but, not for too long! They are in a kiddie wading pool with lots of bedding. A couple weeks and they'll be climbing out, I'm sure!
I do go to the tattoo shop when my son is working. I just sit there and watch and talk. Makes for an interesting day.
Deb, those babies are so cute. I presume the Daddy is the same color as the babies?

Wavewilderness, glad you dropped in, welcome..
We are a caring friendly and caring group.
I imagine Deb they grow quickly mom looks so regal looking after her babes.i am sure their names will be from a nice theme.
Lindakay, i can see you there taking it all in, different characters.fills in your day.
Sharon how did day 2 of the clean up go?
Karen, still feeling well?
Crawled into a nice clean bed, Ziggy want ps to lay next to me but he has been out most of the day, am worried he has been through poison ivy again..going to get up and look for clear gloves, must have something because he wants cuddling. Several blisters broke, left wrist looks as though I’ve burnt it in fire, uncomfortable as heck..can see other areas growing into bags of liquid..oh well tomorrow is another day
Thanks for the puppy pictures, they are so cute. She didn't have any of the golden color like her!
Here's hoping they get those fire controlled and the air quality improves.
Sharon & I spent part of the day together, she leaves Friday for the coast and I will then take care of her pets & plants. She bought one of those chain & spring things to keep the wind from slamming the door open. We installed that this afternoon. She said she had read the instructions and they didn't make sense. I admit I had to redo ONE part but I did manage to get it installed.
I'm going to dig out her "regular iris" and thin them, add in some of my variegated iris. The bright stripes will light up that area better. I weeded the fire pit and if she doesn't get to, I will spray her pea gravel with chemicals, eliminate the weeds that are peeking thru.
Tomorrow the contractor will do the first coat of the stain & sealer, Stanley & I will move to Marie's for 2 nights. The stuff is toxic so we both have to leave.
Marie is down sick with a raging UTI. She saw MD yesterday & slept all today. She didn't even go see Phil.
That flower, by the leaves, is definitely a lily.
Those puppies - different colouration, and a square jaw, unlike their momma. What breed was the father?
Busy quilting (cutting out/initial sewing of 9-patch) a baby quilt for a baby expected Aug 8th & for which there is a baby shower at the Senior's Centre. I only know about it because they've rented the Centre for the shower. Sweet young couple, and he's the one who helped move my desk.
The quilt is called Pink Lemonade, with pinks & yellows. 39 1/2" quilt with 4 1/2" squares
Well the 100 temperatures are heading our way. But we cannot complain because we have had a beautiful June. Betty, I got 2 day in on cleaning the garage and took today off to dead head all of the flowers. I worked in the front landscape for about 3 hours and the back for over an hour. Found a few nasty weeds hiding and got them pulled before they went to seed. I have another 4 or 5 hours left in the garage but so far it has been fun. They are coming tomorrow to plaster the pool. I picked a few tomatoes yesterday and they are delicious.
Deb, those puppies are adorable. I was thinking about raising Schnauzers when I got my first set. Read a book on it and decided it was not for me. Good luck. Tell Mommy, Good Job.
Pat, my mom and dad had one of those springs on their back door. You could also lock it open with the spring. So pleased your son is doing better and you will be able to get back into your home soon and start enjoying your home again. That is a beautiful lily. I love the rust color.
Susan, the young couple will love their new quilt. That is so sweet of you.
Betty, we do not have poison ivy or anything like that here. Weird that the cat can get the oil on it's fur and transfer it to you but it does not bother the cat.
It is time for me to start getting ready for bed. I will check in tomorrow.
That's quite an ombre look Bruiser has going on!! I still like the pretty blonde look better. Yes, it seems to me all puppies look alike other except size and color. They are built to nurse!
I move to Marie's for 2 nights beginning this morning. My house will be completely closed up and the A/C off while the contractor does the floor sealing, he will be wearing a respirator. He will come back Saturday & rehang all the doors and I will open up the house and work at airing it out. Because of the heat & stink, I will likely still be in my current living situation for the first night. I have working A/C there, and the stink should not be as bad.
Now to just survive the next 2 days at Marie's. Stanley and ANY dog is not a good mix, I am worried about it. I am off to Walmart to buy him a harness, I forgot to get it sooner. I will pack a small scratching post for him as well. I have one in storage.
Bruiser is beautiful. Looking forward to more photos in the future.
Pat, good luck with your weekend.
Sunshine morning, but smoke warnings.
Will wait til noon then cut the grass, will look nice for Canada Day Saturday.
Poison ivy is bad but pockets of oil, last night i was leaning on sewing machine ready to thread it for a young student, she said what is that, here the biggest of the sack broke open, all are raw, looks worse, now for the other ones to break.
Bruiser is beautiful, think if any of them were mine I would just let them run so I could see their coat move in the wind. How often do you brush them? Will you be keeping one or two?
My Ziggy now Pat put up with mom’s dog Bella but keeps space between them.. it is usually Bella that hets in Ziggy’s space. am sure you all will do fine. Just think, maybe by July 4th you will be sitting there enjoying your beautiful well deserved home.
Best I get a move on, washing bedding again then will do some deadheading as rain being called for all weekend so lots to do. Might even go shopping in town seeing Maddy who sews on Thursday night will come tomorrow at 10am instead so today is my day!
Bruiser is a handsome afghan!
