I keep going down in sizes lately, so I'm not sure what size to wear anymore LOL So far, since Autumn, I've gone down 8 sizes & feeling great about it. I finally figured out my current size, and I'm thrilled, however......... I'm shrinking out of that size too........ LMAO!!

*edited out "the fall" cuz I didn't fall it was Autumn!*

Congratulations! I wish it were that easy for me but as long as I continue to lose & shrink, I will be satisfied.

Probably from stress Susan, so much on your plate.
Want to scream, been careful re my surgery, listening to what doctor said..so I decide t do some replanting which means using my arms grr now i am on the couch with severe shoulder pain.. i didn’t sign up for all of this, nope, did not.

Greg dropped in for few minute, picked up what i asked h8m t pick up, saw all the soil, 1st question was, ‘ how did that wheel barrel get where it is and all that earth in it? Glad Marie was the one that did it.

Beautiful sunshine day, am sure high 60’s

LOL... yeah Betty, our sons learned from the best!!! He just wants his mother safe, happy & with less PAIN. He's looking out for you.

Don’t they though.

Greg & Mel, Kyle/Destiny and Grayson are now at the trailer park..am sure Kyle will host his Saturday at the drive in for all that are moved in, Greg helped a friend move in their trailer as the friend helped him move his in yesterday, Kyle’s is stationary so it not a big deal for he and Destiny… a little unsaved road divides Greg and Kyle so Grayson i think will be at grandma and grandpa’s place, i can understand why ?? See what grandma and grandpa had waiting for Grayson today..one spoilt little gaffer

Just spent 2 of the three hours my 15 yo neighbour boy working on the shed - he cleared it all out (10x13ft & PACKED full) then we put it some back, some in the shelter that has some of Bob's stuff, and some in the motorhome. Stuff like the lawnmowers, rototillers, leafblowers were taken out of the shelter & are now in the shed. There's still some stuff of Bob's (tools & fasteners) in the shed, but there's no room in the shelter or motorhome for them, so when he gets his stuff, he can have it too. This old lady is feeling good about getting things straightened out! Didn't hurt to get some exercise, too lol
So, Betty - I'm a nerd? lol Yup, and proud of it!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Susan, nerd?? What in the world was the word that auto correct picked upon..imagine “nerd” you must think i am an awful person. Went back and hopefully changed it.

Is the piano gone! Always feels wonderful to make steps organizing our lives.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Todd's memorial service was this morning. The pastor did a wonderful job. The military honor guard present the flag to me. Very emotional for sure.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Awwww Linda, so glad you were pleased woth Todd's service. A comfort to you I'm sure.

HappyMother’s Day everyone as well as mom’s to their furries, all are lucky to have you as their moms..

Any plans for today?

Feels like rain but they do say it will be a beautiful day.

Lindakay, my heart reaches out to you. Can’t imagine the pride but sadness when you were handed the the flag..hugs. When Roger died on New Year’s Day we had a funeral, of course there was snow on the ground, then in the sor8ng we had burial, seems i was just making it through the day and the hurt started all over again..you’ve a long road to travel.. thank goodness you have friends and family surrounding you with love. You also left your home and friends you had at same time, can’t imagine.

As most of my ‘’To do’ day list involves both greg/jJeff and seeing Jeff does not get back from Aruba til late afternoon I asked that they come another weekend so all gets done.

Been outside, rather cool, so hope that my Angel trumpets make both the repotting and cooler night, meant to cover them but forgot..oops . i planted 4 containers with seedlings and need more healthy soil, doing my hair then will run down to Foodland, pay almost double the price but it would give me something to do.

Had intended to do the grass but
A) can’t take the little trailer off the back
B) although Greg bought me one of those new gas cans, has a hose that is battery
operated is a little far in the shed to reach
BUT, BUT I can always ask Marie or Ted, know Greg will drop in at some point, if early he can do it..

Just got a text from Jeff, says ‘Happy Mother’s Day mom, I don’t have cel here but will call you in the morning when I get up’

Happy Mother's day everyone.
Both of my boys are here. We are going out for lunch after church.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie & I are going to the movie "Book Club: the next chapter" and afterwards I will make us dinner here. I have shrimp thawing in the frig, I'll make pineapple pepper shrimp with riced cauliflower, steamed asparagus. I have made sugar free cheesecake pudding in individual gram cracker crusts with strawberries. I was a little disappointed in the pudding, it was made with Almond milk & I followed the special instructions but I wish it had set up firmer. Oh well.

I bought myself a mini pink rose and I STILL need to buy a pretty plant in Phil's behalf. I will send him a picture. His room is CLEAR across the building & although I am willing to hike a plant into his room so he can give it to her, it's not fair to Marie to have to carry that thing back out to her car just so Phil can see it in person. Sorry... he'll have to accept that this is the way "he" will have to give Marie her Mother's day gift.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful you having the boys by your side Lindakay?
Think we all should be be going to Pat’s for eats.
Pat I have trouble with chocolate pie filling, never seems to set like i want it to.

I think that a picture is perfect, he is lucky to have you doing his buying. Is he now in a facility for good or is he expecting to come home.

Am having steak dinner, mouth watering as I can smell it cooking.

Greg and Mel were here for about 3 hours, Greg got his part of my “to do” list done and they brought me flowers. Been working on my repotting, some will go directly into the gardens.

I cut the front and back, always looks so nice.. i do need grass seed as the plow dis a lot of digging.

Suzanne and her 11 year old granddaughter just dropped 8n,Emilia has a special place in my heart, while shopping she thought Aunt Betty would live a new plant for her garden so a hydrangea’Summer Crush’ is what they dropped off. She will c9me and spend a night with me next weekend and will plant it for me.

Off to bed, Lordy almost forgot to call mom as we had our Mother’s Day together on Thursday, now that would have nee a disaster lol

Phil will likely never walk again and when he discharges it will be to a different, lower level of care facility as Marie will NOT be able to provide the care he needs.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Happy Mother's Day to al you moms - human or furbabies, or both!!

LindaKay - so pleased that it was a good service for Todd. Happy that your boys are celebrating Mother's Day with you :)

Betty - it was likely "nerves" that the auto-correct "corrected". Rest assured that I would Never think badly of you. I thought it wass silly/funny & was sure that auto-correct Wasn't correct lol Rest easy, dear lady, it Was funny lol

Pat - "Book Club, the next chapter" sounds good - do tell us if it is!

Went to church this morning, then stopped in at Dianne's. She wasn't home, so I walked the short distance to her daughter-in-law's on the next farm over. Dianne wasn't there, but Barb & I had a nice visit. She offered me champagne with orange juice (a Mimosa?). It was lovely sitting on her patio, talking. While there, my daughter phoned to say they'd sent me an email - deposited some $$ in my account & sent me a Blue Mountain e-card. For the $$ she suggested that I go to the Devonian Gardens that I so want to see and use the $$ for a friend & I to get a hotel room. It's about 3 hours north of us, so a hotel room is a great idea. She said if the hotel room costs more, to let them know & they'll send more $$. So sweet of her to remember & send me this for Mother's Day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, that is a thoughtful gift, if Denovian Gardens is anything like Cullen Gardens which closed their doors ages ago it will be worth the 3 hour drive.bet auto correct did change from nerves to nerds..that auto correct can get you into a lot of trouble lol.
I’ve been having a lot of trouble with letters showing up as numbers, especially i into an 8. Do you all read what you post before you press send?

Pat, is Phil aware he will not be going back with Marie?

Drats, divided my Angel trumpets and made a bunch of planters, was patting myself on the back, was in bed almost asleep when weather notice came in, frost warning, grrr so outside I went to try and cover most of what I put outside.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

We have already been in the 90s and expected to be all this week. My peonies started to open today and the variegated iris started last week.

If Phil does NOT know that he is not going home, then he is NOT listening!!! And that is possible. He does not retain what anyone says.

The Book Club was good but will not be a favorite. I probably would have enjoyed it more on TV so I could have closed caption. Even with my hearing aids I missed a couple of one line jokes.

Morning everyone, suppose to hit 60°f but it feels quite cool due to wind.

Maybe Pat he just doesn’t want to know or accept it.

How nice it must be to walk through the gardens and see such beauties. Marie was here and said we did not get frost nit rather cover them than them being hit.

Peonies are beautiful, mine are the deeper pink tone..sad they don’t last long. Iris are beautiful, do they multiply?

Woke up at 8:45am, not sure what was different, had gone to bed and fell asleep about 9pm, maybe was my being outside all day.

I am off to clean the craft room, told Marie i would be out to play around 1 to plant some of my babies lol

there are also a few rose bushes (offerings that pink ground cover rose) phlox’s I’d like to move to back gardens..Marie will be worker and I’ll be the boss😜

Vanessa, the special need little girl comes at 3:30 so must prepare for her project.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No Betty, that lack of retention is in EVERYTHING. It can be one sentence later & he is asking the SAME question etc.

My peonies do multiple but the variegated iris multiple like rabbits! LOL They are extremely low maintenance. I do not grow them for the blooms, although they are lovely. It's the LEAVES that do it for me!

Susan, you are going to have so much fun spending your gift certificate! I try really hard to remember exactly what I buy with a gift certificate so I can "honor" that purchase the same as if it were purchased directly. I KNOW I purchased my good metal rainbow sprinkler with the money I got from Paula, etc.

I got Shasta daisys from my SIL Sharon & I hope they do well. I got careless and over divided mine 2 years ago and nearly lost them all. I will do better this time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, Dreary kind of day, wind is terrible, should be out putting plants in soil and making containers but got an alert that frost will hit today so no sense, will have to cover all of those containers i planted and the Angel trumpets i put in far too soon, drats after keeping them in the house all winter only lose them.

June and Pat came this morning, Giorgia at 4pm so am cooking Turkey
Dinner, dressing is from the box thought, if I don’t eat early likely won’t eat tonight after Giorgia leaves.

I had the multi layered daisies Pat, bought a few, they gre for 2 years and never came back, did that twice, maybe i will try again.

How is everyone feeling?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat, joke for you - "Wife: You hear what you want to. Husband: Yes, I'd like a cold beer".
Getting ready for our May long Weekend - May 22nd our little town has a Town-Wide Yard Sale, and our Seniors Centre puts on a BBQ lunch from 10-3pm. We have most of the food in our new freezer or the cupboards, amd just have to pick up the meat & I need to bake 2 pies. The grocery store is donating $50 worth of meat. Next, our group is going to have a Bottle Drive on Thurs the 25th
Next, Dianne & I are hopping into her motorhome on the 26th, going to an awards dinner at the Legion (which is on our way to our next destination) then we're going camping with a new-to-me group Camping with New Friends. They have a 1980's theme night, and we are to dress up like it's the 80's. I have some leggings, knitting some leg warmers for my ankles, have a drapey-type top with sequins, and II have a sequined red cap and sunglasses lol Not sure how it'll look when done, but the top needs a bit of repair-stitching so I'm doing that now. I'm thinking about putting a fringe on it. If Dianne hadn't chosen to go I would be tenting in my new gear - 4 person tent, etc.

Betty - to answer your question, yes, I check my typing before I send, but I have a huge advantage. I don't use a phone or even a laptop, I have a PC, so can see more of my post. Besides which, I AM a nerd lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

You will be busy busy for the next while Susan..great you are getting out into great outdoors. What is happening to your rv..certainly not an expense you want to undertake.

Frost warning for this evening so spent 1/2 hour covering all the new potted plants and hanging baskets..what a nuisance.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sorry to hear you are getting weather warnings. At least you have been WARNED!! Like you, I would hate to lose the plants you have already planted and worked so hard on!
Sounds like fun Susan. My church is having an activity tonight but I am opting to attend my chair yoga class with friends. I could use a little "peace" in my life right now.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Brrrr, with the wind like it is I will have to wear a jacket to go out and work in the gardens and take the bags off the plants. Going to see what Angel trumpets i put in pots to see if they can be brought in later this afternoon as colder tonight.

worried about the ladies not posting, know with all the stress/I’ll health everyone that posting is not a priority bit we do worry?

Drop in with an ok please

Have a cousin of Roger’s coming for a visit and lunch at Shannon’s next door.
Need to vacuum then outdoor I go..where are my mitts

Verona, ON

Sun is shining but it is like 1 of those winter days when you think it will be warmer and you go outside and get blasted with cold. I covered most of my day lilies. The plants on the lake side of the house fare better. I haven't been out to check yet though.

I am just physically exhausted and have no idea why. All I want to do is lay down and close my eyes. I don't even want to read. The TH seem to understand and just want to velcro themselves to me. They're not even interested in going outside. I put them outside around 6am and they quickly were back at the door to come inside.

Stay safe and well everyone. Be good to yourself.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - brrrrrrr frost warning? Yikes. Hope all your pretties are ok. I keep getting told that we will have another big snow, because "it IS Alberta, after all" but I see all the green. Even though I've lived in AB since 2006, I keep thinking about Manitoba summers, fondly.
Lots of smoke in the area from wildfires about 100 miles away. Very hazy outside.
People are being advised to stay indoors, and nearby Olds (half hour drive away) has an evacuation preparedness plan. I don't believe we're in danger, but better safe than sorry.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Have my pretties uncovered but heavy frost here as well Dianne..

Perhaps the dogs know you are unwell and should be going to doctors, maybe your blood is very low. For you not to read or go out something is amiss. I do a lot of gardening but not knowledgeable about gardening. Dianne do you think if it’s plants/shrubs that have come back in the spring, would they need covering or just newbies?

You are right Susan, if wind was to get stronger it’s amazing how fast fire can move, best have a plan. Lordy, another snowfall? Here is hoping not. How are your gardens doing.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie and I are off the Walla Walla, an hour away to see the "3 yard challenge quilt show". Everyone who wanted to enter had to buy 2 @ 1 yard each from a specific set of fabrics & could combine those 2 with any 3rd piece of 1 yard. Then submit for judging. Marie and I want to go see the display & vote on the quilts. We did NOT enter, we had enough fabric without buying more and enough stress without adding making a quilt with a deadline.

Walt & Karen, I hope you are all continuing to improve.

Linda, I hope that you are continuing in your enjoyment of living with son & family with an abundance of family support.

Sharon, I am looking forward to pictures of your garden.

I got weed and feed applied on my back yard. I don't know that I will be able to get it applied on the other half. It should not be applied with temperatures over 90 & I won't have access until June 1. Temps could certainly be higher than that by then. I need to spray for weeds in the gravel parking but won't today.

Later ladies, I hope you are all doing well and your gardens are flourishing!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am here. Just busy trying to get paper work in order, for Todd's retirement, social security and his savings plan from the base. Getting his bank account transferred to my name. Everyone wants a death certificate.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I've done nothing with my flower or veggie gardens other than cleaning them up.
Senior's meeting tomorrow, pick up a patio planter & 4 green pepper plants on Friday, paint the door to the Senior's Centre on probably both Friday afternoon & Saturday, Our BBQ for the town yard sale is on Monday. We're also having a yard sale outside the Centre that day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy Pat, you are thinking you might get temps over 90? I only wish.
It would be nice to have such a “show around here, nothing that exciting, but like you, I wouldn’t want to buy the fabric having a stash of my own.

Oh Linda Kay, my heart goes out to you. I can remember all the paperwork month after month and into the second year that we had to fill seemed endless. And yes, I think I must’ve photocopied about 20 deaths certificates Shirley, the government and company pensions could make it a tad easier. Hard way to keep busy. Are there any neighbours or other relations in you area that you could spend time with?

Susan, like always you tire me out.
Hope the sale goes well.

I’m worried, still no news from Karen..she wasn’t feeling well last time she posted

Deb, when will puppies be born?

Waving to all others

Ohh spent most of the day with Roger’s cousin, lovely lunch at Shannon’s, just as Theresa was leaving Sharon dropped in, then phoebe for her class the Cathy. Cathy has been unwell since last week, she said she saw doctor this afternoon & he gave her script for coughing, what does she do? Comes her for an hours visit, i told her three times”i won’t be happy Cathy if i catch what you have, she smiles and says you won’t, finally i said she had to put on a mask..drats why are people so dumb, even my student kept look8ng at her. Grrrr

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm around Betty, Just still feeling worn out and trip to Dr says all is well. Well something is not or I wouldn't feel so beat down. I ache all over and even getting dressed is difficult. I'm also not up to undergoing a battery of tests. Guess I'll just wait it out and hope I get to feeling better soon.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Quote from taters55 :

I feel for you, Linda Kay. You're in my prayers every night.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I am here and still on my project to get everything done with planting garden flowers for summer and putting items away. My spring flowers are already just about done and time for the flowers that can take the heat. They started removing the plaster and pebble-teck off the pool. Sure did spread a fine white dust everywhere. I had a manicure and pedicure today and a hair appointment tomorrow. I have my hair done every 7 weeks and my nails every 3 weeks. So how many weeks does it take for them to be in the same week?

Karen, I so wish you would get your strength back and start feeling better. How is Walt feeling?

Susan, you are so busy but busy is a good thing. Have a great time and be safe. Give us a total critique when you get back.

Diane, I am so sorry you are not feeling up to par. That is out of the norm for you. Like Betty said, you need to check in with your Doctor.

Pat, I can tell by your posts that the crew is still slowly moving out of the property. Unbelievable.

Linda, the hospice people told me to get 15 certified copies of the death certificate and I think I used every copy. Vern will be gone 4 years the end of this month.

It is our bedtime. Hugs to all of you.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Marie & I spent the WHOLE day in Walla Walla, much longer than I planned. I was disappointed that there were only 17 entries in the 3 yard quilt contest & honestly, I made quilts much prettier than many of those entries. The prizes were worth winning.
• Grand Prize: $200 fabric shopping spree
• Runner Up: $100 fabric shopping spree
• 2nd Runner Up: $50 fabric shopping spree
Check out Walla Walla Sew & Vac and Spas on facebook to see the entries.

We also shopped at our favorite tiny little quilt shop and spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY. Hard NOT too when her prices are ridiculously low. Quilt shop fabric, some discounted as low as $5 per yard, most of about $8 per yard. We also bought 2 more Fabric Cafe books (3 yard quilt books). an adorable paper piecing farm animals books & 1 Villa Rosa card pattern.

Then on to the thrift stores. I only came home with 2 TV trays, 1 dress & 1 blouse, a large piece of art for the bedroom.

Sharon, you are correct. At the rate they are going it will be difficult for them to be out by June 1st. They paid May rent, that is NOT the point. I wanted them OUT. I hope they understood I was serious when I told them June 1st, I am recruiting help and getting anything they have not moved GONE. Dump, donation or whatever. It is not staying here. I am beyond disappointed and angry with my son. You would be shocked at the mess they have in the parking in front my house, blocking the view of my beautiful flower gardens.
#1, what it looks like now with a pickup loaded with stuff for the dump that has been there now 2 weeks. The cardboard boxes they taped up and left out on sidewalk. The tent canopy they put up that the wind has tore up & partially taken down. The leftover supplies leaning against the trailer after they worked on the interior. What you can't see under that canopy is a truck load of JUNK they need to move to their house.
#2 last year at this same time, basically the view that they stuff is covering up.

Still here, just busy. We go for an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy on Monday. Pups would be due June 24.

That's exciting Debbie. How many puppies does that breed normally have in a litter?
