Enjoy your trip Pat.
Karen, sorry to hear about your day. It was hard to admit that I needed help with Todd, but I am glad I am living with my son now. Getting old is not for sissies.
I do like the weather here. Other than the occasional dust storm, it's not bad. They have decent soil here, but my son also has 2 large cane corso dogs, and the youngest one is in the digging and chewing stage. I don't think planting a garden right now would be a good idea.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, 43°f here. Brrr too cold to work outside and all my housework is done, not a thing out of place so that gives me options to fill my day.

Enjoy your trip Pat and we will look forward to hear8mg all about it and see what creations you sewn.thanks for the link Pat, will print it out and keep it on hand.

Don’t believe you would Susan.

Karen, how are you both doing?

Decided I will go into town for groceries, need to drop off injection meds I picked up at pharmacy and drop it off to Dr. Jones office.

Want to stop off at the the lady who provided me with the red tree limbs i used for Easter project as she called and said she had batting and 3 bags of fabric for the little ones,mi get excited to see what is in the bags.

I got me e receipt last night that the provider for grace frame in Calgary sent out my order of rubber tracking for the quilting frame, going to try a quilt on it and see if i can do it..was $50 the shipping which is a wee package $25 for shipping, imagine.
Might even drop in to the office and see my niece..think the office has been sold and closing date mid May..she needs a hug, mega hugs

Long terrible story, I’ll post when I get back home tonight.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sun did come out, had visitors for a few hours, Grayson loved his Easter gifts but made a sad face when Melanie broke a wheel off of it but then she handed him the chocolate piece and we got smiles galore.

Kyle got my lawnmower running, even had a long ride with Grayson, Lordy he is getting to be quite the little man.
Even got a note from our MPP Re my work 8n the area..was nice

I'm waiting for Tues. Apparently I will hear then if I've been chosen as the Rep. for our wee hamlet. The District Counsellor suggested I apply, so I did.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You have been busy. Grayson sure is growing fast.
Such a nice note to get from him.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Rainy cold day, was ok because I worked from 9-3.

Was nice Lindakay visiting with Grayson. Are there any young ones where you are staying?

Susan bet you are anxious to hear

How are you and Walt doing Karen

Waving to you all.

I was frustrated with Mason and Evan today..Evan was on his way to a birthday party, wanted to make something homemade, Mason said it was his dad’s birthday and wanted to make a gift..gee whiz, told them I am not a magician then the girls came, one made a neck warmer, the other family name pillow and last one finished her Xmas throw.i fought at finding words all day so must be tired.

Giant Tiger had different boxes of Chinese food and ??? i will have to come back with name, oh yes egg rolls, told you I can’t remember names. Glad I bought enough for 4 dinners when they were on sale.

He should have told you before he got there, he needed a gift.
No young ones here. My daughter in law is anxiously waiting for grandkids.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Memory Lane - remember this, from Sistahs Of The Heart? Barry's quilt that was presented to him as a war vet. Can't remember who presented it though.

Overcast likely all day, that is ok, it’s giving me time to play in the house and keep up with every room looking great. I counted my blackboards and still have 10 to paint..still in nighty so have 4 on coffee table so should be an easy project to finish.

Susan I do not remember that quilt, perhaps it was on the other site, but I do love it. So much work and love put into it.

Where you are now is there like a granny suite that you can have your own space?
Love the antique cars you are posting on Facebook, what treasures they are.

Deb, are you scheduled for dog shows? Sharon leaves end of month for St Louis..had she not already had ompany I’d have gone with her.

Did I post photos of the place Darlene and John bought close to Myrtle Beach, if I visit Icould go visit Jaye

Sharon, photo’s of your beautiful gardens please, we would all like to enjoy seeing most of ours are dormant.

Judy, are you back home ?

Karen how are you and Walt doing?

Know i told you about the plow plowing down my 40+ lilac trees, well on our community hub I asked I’d anybody had lilac and rose of Sharon sprigs and got response to both..hurrah..i pick up lilac trees sprigs in the morning.

i was up early so i filled 15 containers with soil and divided some of the seedlings so they can grow stronger..still have a good month before I can plant…planted a few pkgs of cucumbers as well..

I also managed to get myself in trouble, the 2 neighbours in front of me has pyl9ns out along the road as does my neighbour to my right so that clients of Shannon’s restaurant that is doing so well can’t park. Marie is in that same complex, she hates the owners, well i feel bad so I offered the restaurant to park their 3 cars to give them more room, she told me before, if she takes a dislike to someone she never forgives and forget..so i haven’t seen her since, guess i am on the bad list.

Well it’s 11, time for another coffee, might get dressed warm and go prune some dead brush and clean a few areas..don’t you love those days you can jump from one thing to another?

Nurse was here this morning. She thinks Walt is doing good. She will be leaving this job so we will only see her one more time. We really like her too.
Time to head to the sewing room. Hope my mis-directed packages get here soon. I need that fabric.

Victoria Harbour, ON

glad to hear Walt is proving, i see you are preparing to sew that must mean you are feeling a tad better, that is good news, not so on the misdirected fabric, although you’ve tons of fabric the package contains the perfect piece right? What are you making?

It’s been forever since I have quilted, sat down for no more than 20 minutes and could
Feel my shoulders saying no more, big sigh..so i cut out a few pieces of the Canada Day banner the kids and I are making. Mason helped with what will be the design using some of the patterns I have

Yesterday I went to a quilt shop to get a backing for the baby quilt I'm doing for Dianne's g-granddaughter. There were shopping carts outside with quilt templates. I grabbed a couple, but was told those are for long-arm quilters. Don't have (and never will have) a long-arm quilter, so I put them back. Now...... the other templates I have are likely also for quilting machines? No matter - I traced the pattern onto the previous quilt & hand-stitched it. I don't know why I couldn't do that with any template?!?!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't remember that quilt either.
Todd had 6 antique cars. 68 & 72 corvette, 59 chevy El camino, 54 Ford Ranchero, 54 ford truck, 57 sedan delivery.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, not sure why it wouldn’t have worked..were they paper or design cuts in plastic?

Lordy Lindakay that is a lot of antique vehicles, where will they be stored?

Came to bed at 6, now I am hungry, best i toast some raisin bread and see if I’ve some hot chocolate packages.

Went on our community group and asked if anyone had a tiller, yep, Giorgia’s dad has one and if he can get it running he will come and do a 10x10’ area for veggie garden

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

4 of them went to my son's place in San Antonio. He has lots of room to store them. 2 came up here. The 54 truck and the El camino. Going to try and get them running good.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

How about this quilt, given to Mr. Pate? Anyone recognize the "giver"?
This would have been in 2013.......... so 10 years ago.

Making good progress on my quilts now. Having a problem with some fabric being mis-directed to old address. I did change my addy when we moved but somehow they are digging up old one. Jess is picking up the fabric and will send it on to me.
I have all the preliminary sewing done and ready to start assembly.
Betty, quilts are for my Twin great grands coming in June, both boys.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Brrr, damp cold day, rained last night and more to come.

Seeing lots of green out there so bad weather isn’t stopping growth of grass and plants that are saying hello after being covered by snow all winter.

Karen, hope you get your fabric, will they be same colours but different designs?

Lindakay, can your son get them up and running?

Although weather isn’t the nicest I’ve errands to run, visit the office, but before I do I must bring in 3 bags of fabric from my car trunk, find 2-3 big pots so I pickup some lilac bushes someone gave me..also 2 mdf boards short so back to Home Depot..class is Sunday

That will be my day

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I was entered in a show yesterday, but I've been waiting to breed Charlotte and Friday afternoon noon my vet said it was time, so I'm in Colorado for the breeding. I'll probably be out here for a couple more days.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, I don't remember that quilt either. Who is posting these quilts?
Betty, yes my boys can fix the cars. They are both good mechanics. If there is something they can't figure out they have buddies to help.
Deb, good luck with breeding your dog.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

The quilts may have been from Cubits "Sistahs Of The Heart" thread......
I know that Round Robins were done there, too, and I thought some of you ladies joined in? Long time ago, so I guess my memory isn't as good as it used to be lol

Today I'm using my quilting walking foot for the 1st time ever. I'm doing the baby quilt for Dianne's g-granddaughter. It's hard work, rolling & pushing the quilt through, but if it will stop the puckering, that's a good thing. I'm still hand-quilting the other one for the raffle. Almost done. Guess the baby quilt will be a LOT faster to stitch lol
Betty - here's the pattern you sent me re: Periwinkle quilt. You also sent a template. It's the one I'm using for the baby quilt. I'll post my pic when I"m done.

I was just going to sat “Susan I made quite a few of those” lol

i have enough earth tones to make another and I want to as they were fun to do with using the template and paper triangle. Hope you get to make it.

Great that your boys Lindakay are such great mechanics..was Todd as well? Know you used to go to a lot of shows, not sure why I thought the gatherings
were motor cycles.. maybe it was Judy and Steve I was thinking of.

Would you know the breeding and the dog show were at same time Deb.That is one heck of a way to do breeding? Is that where you usually breed them?

Sharon has been having difficulties posting photo’s on DG so she sent me a bunch to post, they are fantastic. I am hoping to post tonight or 1st thing 8n the morning..

Did I tell you when I went to Walmart I ended up right behind Destiny and Grayson, little one kept giving me the dirtiest of eyes, old saying if eyes could kill lol
I tried everything but nope..Destiny said she had to wake him to come into Walmart so guess he was having a moment

I am so tired, have to call mom but I will tell her I have to make it a short call but she will keep on gabbing I am sure

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I had the worst time cutting the triangles to go with the wedge. I tried to make a triangle to go with it, but ended up cutting a chunk of material to go with it, then cutting it to shape afterwards. Some of my "shapes" were not great angles. I was never good at geometry LOL If I actually had a template for the outside triangles, I'd be fine. As it was, I wasted a lot of material my way, but had a lot of white, so I was ok. In future (yes, I'll make another, because I have more wedges cut out than I needed), I will make a whole bunch of the background triangles, cut oversize, and go from there, rather than doing them individually.
It was a learning curve/exercise.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, Just the opposite on the quilts. Same design different colors. Using fabric fro "Guess How Much I Love You" collection. One is in blues and the other in greens,.Mom can decide who gets what. Actually got quite a bit done today. Some of the fabric is still on tour. Hoping to get it this week.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The tattoo show in Sturgis is all motorcycles. That is where Judy and hubby go every August. It's also where my son goes for the tattoos that month. He makes a lot of money in that month.
The show in Austin was all antique cars. Todd used to work on his cars all the time. He quilt working on them about 5 years ago. Just never had the energy to do it anymore.

Morning, mixed precipitation today with a high of 43°f wind is up which makes it much colder… guess my lilac starters will remain in the trunk til later in the week.

Karen I will have to goodie ‘just how much I love you’. I’m sure the will be loved by the twins.

I remember Lindakay that your son who does tattoos did well in Sturgis, glad you did these outing when you did.

Aren’t the flowers above from Sharon’s gardens breathtaking??

I’m exhausted and not 2 yet, young Giorgia will be here at 4 so I could leave going through the 3 bags of fabric i got the other day and go through them in the morning..I’ve got 2 bags full for Fridays dump run, likely another..there so far I have found 3 panels, 9 horse blocks which Lily will love seeing she takes riding lessons, maybe blocks 2 double size quilts

i feel I am running around in circles.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Those are beautiful flowers she is growing.

Why can't you use the fabrics?

Last tie I communicated with Betty she wasn't feeling good and her fingers were numb. Then I lost my internet. Didn't get it back until tonight with the help of my SIL.

I got two items off my list of four today. But I had one added because of the wind. Seeds from the pine trees next door all over my driveway. Then I had to hand water one side of my driveway because irrigation did not come on. When I do that I always get a neighbor dropping by to chat. But I never complain about that.

It is our bedtime. I will check in tomorrow first thing. Betty I hope you are OK.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening..

Was so busy today trying to get things done for Sunday’s class and for the gentleman who might come do a 10x10’ veggie garden tilling. Great earth just not the best location Re sunshine but I will try.

Had my hair cut, then Peighton came for her lesson, now my throat is so sore, sitting here with neocitron hoping by morning I will be ok..have nothing really I must do tomorrow and Friday so if going to be sick might as well be next 2 days..

Few young ones have been sneezing but say not a cold, allergies..someone must have had a cold.

Thanks for checking up on me Sharon, I am at awe of your gardens

Bedtime for me

You have been busy.
Sorry to hear you have a sore throat. Praying you are feeling better soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morn8ng, suppose to reach 54°f this afternoon but it feels cold.

Thanks Lindakay, luckily I had some cold meds prescribed by doctor when I was sick a few months ago so throat is slightly tingly, just took more meds so should be ok.

Had messaged a a guy advertising if anyone needed metal items picked up he would was making a run to the dump. was downstairs sorting fabric when i saw movement out on my deck, I had forgotten all about him coming. .he took the gliding bench swing that has a top on it, fabric you sit on ripped, i though oh I can replace that, then there was metal frame of headboard, black and very scrolled, was going to make a garden piece out of it and thought nope take it as well, got to learn what I can do and not do right?

Drats, told Marie I would come out at 11 to do my pruning and there she is

So off I go

Verona, ON

Weather here is like Betty's. Sun is shining but it is cold. I started to walk the TH in just a hoodie but had to turn back and get my chore coat. Last night I had to flip the furnace on for a bit.

LK I hope you are taking care of yourself. Don't let anyone push you into a decision. Happy to read your sons are bringing all of Todd's cars back to you.

Sturgis - I've always wanted to go. Do you know that some of the stores are only open during Sturgis and make enough money to get them through the rest of the year? They can go ride their bikes to their heart's content.

Need to look for a battery operated leaf blower. I have an electric one but end up with extension cords tangled all over the place.

Need to go and do battle with my cell. It hates me!! I need to find the contact for firewood. If I get the wood dropped early I will have lots of time to move it under the car port.

The trilliums are starting to pop up. So Spring really is here.

Deb I hope this is a successful mating visit.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, I have a large trillium patch in my gardens, won’t be long it will be opening up then as you say spring will be here.

As you say it’s beautiful out but it’s cold. i just came in, wouldn’t have but Marie picked all the tools and put them in the back shed, said it was time to stop..i will soon start calling her mom lol

Hope you find the phone number and get your wood delivered, would be nice to pile it in summer vs late fall/early winter.

I have the heat on at 73, last night I put the fireplace in my bedroom to 80 and timer for 1 hour, then my routine is open bedroom window 1/2 open, get kitty treats for Ziggy to be able to look outside and enjoys his treat.

Broke my heart today, cut down all this lilacs and planted 5..no secret garden so I will have to come up with some sort of garden art to hide what was ‘secret’

I am chilled but likely because I pruned about 1/2 the shrubs/trees, had a big fire going to burn the brushing so it was so warm/toasty sitting there while it burnt that the 73°f inside feels cold.

Was going to make a batch of spaghetti sauce then realized I had a container of sauce in freezer so took easy way out, mhave enough for a few days.

i got new rails for my quilting frame delivered today..will email Greg to me me on his list of to do’s, I would like trying to quilt on the frame and see if I can do it.

Think I and Marie put in a good day and can feel my eyes getting heavier so I will have a hot bath, nighty and watch tv

I decided that starting Monday I will start my exercising to music and see if i can take 12 of the 15 lbs of weight i put back on.

Talking to Darlene, she sounds terrible, had cold when she left and came home with it..they are doing $$ transfer for the place in Myrtle Beach so needed to come home to do that.. she said the killer of the deal would be water, good pressure all over except washroom, no pressure so that needs to be checked out. i said maybe when previous owners moved out they may have shut a valve off just in case

Stopped as I was typing this novel, so I’ve now had my bath, not even sure if I want spaghetti 🫢

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, remembered several years ago Ann bought me a beautiful book and arranging planters for all seasons and special occasion. Am sure you’ve seen h8m doing weather and a garden specialist..parents own Barrie garden gallery. Lots to read, if I could only have 1 container that looks like Sharon’s

Betty is Frankie still on City TV ? I watch GMA in the morning now as I get my day started.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I did a quick read thru. Good luck on dog breeding, Linda, that's a lot of vintage cars! Betty, the kids KNOW you are miracle working. They didn't know you can't pull a gift out of your hat at the LAST minute, you need a least a LITTLE lead time! LOL. Susan, is it next Tuesday your hear about the rep, or this past one? Karen, good to hear you sewing again. Sorry about missing to comment. I usually take notes as a read but Stanely is not having that. He is ALL about cuddling him.

Just got home, should have been a 4 hour drive but my body didn't like the apple I ate & I made 4 pit stops, plus a gas stop & then went & got the key remote battery replaced as my dash said it was low.

I had a great time, sew, pool, more sewing, a little read, sleep REPEAT!! I made 2 quilt tops, 1 custom bag for Carrie & a pillow case. Son & wife went out to eat everyday, either lunch or dinner. I stayed back at the resort and sewed. The only extra money I spent was on FABRIC, including that cute book print that was used for Carrie's bag. It is lined and has pockets for her phone & tablet. Quilts are fair sized, "the U-turn" is 64 x 80, the 2nd one is a Swirly girl pattern named "Perfect 10". It was designed to use 10 fat quarters and all the 8.5 blocks were to be cute from each of the fab quarters. I used a single feature fabric for the "framed" blocks.

81 on the drive home!

Yes he is, he is so knowledgeable, enjoy watching him.. the female anchor is gone now, still interviewing for her position. I didn’t watch BT much since she has been anchor, too flighty for me or do I like the male anchor.

Maybe I’ll start again.

Big hockey game tonight, Bertie mom’s neighbour whose son is the coach had his mom and dad go to see the game, will be disappointing if they lose seeing it’s their home town.

Watching Murder She Wrote and scanning the Pot It Up book. I do not do pots but Sharon has me wanting to try after seeing her pots.

Dianne, will you do your gardens this year?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Close to done with one of the quilts.
We had a good day today. Got Walt to walk to the mail box with me. Not far but a good walk for him. Found good Chinese not too far away. We are as stuffed as a Christmas goose.
Kids are getting together. Planning to re do our deck. Assn. sent letter about it. So grateful to our gang.
