Betty - btw I don't need a lot of meds for pain, only short term (maybe a month or less) then I go to only 2 meds per day - my epilepsy meds & my warfarin for the blood clots I had in my lungs. I had to have the pain meds before & shortly after my knee replacement. When I took the pain meds, the Dr doubled what I took because I needed to have the pain hit hard & fast.

Weather was 32F this morning

Susan that is not a lot of pills for sure.
Was it today you were going to stop into the fabric shop, anxious to hear if they had any new products.

Marie is lucky to have you Pat but also you Re lucky to be able to spend time with her. Sharon is I think getting a little homesick, wouldn’t doubt she will book another African tour.

Was nice enough to go out and light the fire pit as I got my permit, nothing like burning tree branches but believe me there is enough snow on ground that there will be plenty more branches found once it melts. Looked on ways to get rid of ashes, think last time it was completely cleaned was when it was my turn to have the DG reunion..Judy worked hard getting all ashes out as we were having a sage prayer around it and there could be no contamination in the pit..

Spent 2 hrs with Rogers as did I yesterday, here is hoping my programming and my bill will be as discussed.

Rest of the day i spent on the couch..Peighton comes 4, making a teddy bear that will if things go right have arms and legs that move..told her no more stuffies

How come I’m wide awake and1/2 hr before a class i could so go to sleep??
Have to say i shouldn’t need a nap, i didn’t get up until 8 this morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope. Your bill gets fixed. Are there giving you a refund? Sounds. Like it's finally warming up for you.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I went out to Marie's so she could take dog in to vet, tomorrow she has appt with accountant & dog goes to groomer. tomorrow will only be about 3 hours out at Marie's so she can take care of stuff.
Today I go the binding on & finished on 2 of the small quilts, Did not finish the 3rd one before I left. It was a long day there. There before 1 & gone at 9PM. I will take one of my quilts to finish tomorrow. I might not have time if Phil needs all of his personal care (if Marie did not get it done before she leaves).
Betty, don't you put your ashes on your flower beds? .

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, don’t see mud out there so guess even though the sun is bright it’s not enough to do any melting.

Pat, I am not sure if there is a difference between using wood stove ashes or that of a burning pit. Must ask around.
Do you do bindings hand stitching, love that method as it’s calming for me.
Long day for you for sure.

Hope so Lindakay, when your bill should be $142 a month and you get one over $400 tad shock. Got similar with embridge gas last month, must check it out.

Been laying on couch lat 2 hours, really is time to do something. I’ve laundry to do and I’d love to get 2 shelves up so downstairs i go

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No, I do bindings completely by machine, my hands would rebel if I tried to do it manually! The arthritis and replacement thumb joint would scream!

Phil has MRI on Friday and I pray they can find & repair the "current problems". He just keeps breaking more vertrabae. .

Adam and Andrea put an offer last night on a house. They will know by 9PM tonight. This one is a good fit, I hope this one goes thru.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Poor Phil, his bones must be beyond fragile, hope something they can do.

Here is hoping i will be able to continue to do hand sewing.

Excited, excited for all if offer goes through..now wouldn’t that be a great start for all.
Will have to take some energy pills so I can stay up till 9 to hear if it has been accepted.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Pat - excited for you as well! I've been praying for a house for them!!! Been praying for your peace of mind, too.
Betty - I was hoping to find Asian themed fabric, or vibrant colours. No such luck. Great little shop though. My not asking for a bag meant they gave me a section of my choice of fabric (I chose one with stars - white on cream). I bought a "mystery bag" with 2 panels of flowers (?), flowered black print fabric that will go well for sashing my Madam Butterfly quilt (look for it sometime this year), a tiny measuring keychain & a Never Done Quilting pen. I will definitely go back there now that I know where it is.

Wow Susan, you got a few bargains, i look at your panel and would so like to cut it up lengthwise like I did to one of mine.once our weather improves wouldn’t mind taking a road trip to a few fabric shops. Glad you enjoyed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, no sooner did I put the shelf up, grabbed a coffee and in comes Greg to do shelving.already in bed, guess I will go look on web, looking for a few things to finish off the living/bedroom room decor.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Thank you for good thoughts and prayers. It's 7PM, still no answer, the seller has until 9 PM to answer, accept or counter. I am hoping/ praying!

I have been performing an exercise in futility and frustration, looking at furniture! I can't buy anything really, as I have nowhere to put it until they are OUT. My garage is pretty much already FULL. I suppose if I had to, I could wedge something into my storage shed. I wanted an idea of what I would have to pay & what comes up, how often, on Marketplace.

I should work on a quilt and take my mind off the clock.

I’m here waiting with you Pat

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We have a really big wind storm coming in tomorrow with maybe rain. I went to Costco today and was sure I had behaved myself but still spent a lot of money. My stupid cat Peanut, just bit me because I started typing. Now she is sleeping and my wrist is bleeding. Been a long time since she has done that.

Pat, are they dealing with a different mortgage lender or the same one that let them down last time? You and your relationship with your sister makes me smile.

Susan, so pleased you liked the store and found some treasures.

We are heading up into the high 60 and low 70s so flowers will start popping out their pretty little blooms. The weather has been warmer so Emma, my Schnauzer, and I have been taking a longer walk in the afternoon also. Now two long walks a day. Easier to do with warmer weather and no wind. Last Friday I found quite a few old seeds I had collected while walking and deadheading some flowers. I just threw them all over the front landscape. Should be interesting if they come up. Strawberries are putting out runners, so thy have woken up. Those strawberries were so sweet last year. I didn't plant them, they came up from my compost dirt. Probably Driscoll.

Betty are you feeling better? When will Sharon be home?

Time for me to take Emma out to go potty and close everything up for the night. You all have a wonderful morning.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Waiting to hear, Pat......

Working on the quilt.........on the 13th of 20 blocks, then to sew the sashing & border. Come hell or high water, it Will be finished for next Thurs.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

At 9.05 I called Adam and asked if he had heard anything, he had not. I asked him to call me as soon as he knew, and he agreed. STILL no word. Trust me, when I hear, I will post. Of course it is possible you will HEAR me if the answer is an acceptance! I am trying to be patient and reminding myself that EVEN if the offer is accepted, the house has to pass inspection AND appraisal.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

11 pm, going to bed, obviously nothing will be known today!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

sorry that there's no word yet. I'll be watching & praying.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

it's 11.10 here and Adam just got off the phone with realtor. A&A have accepted the seller's counter offer. Now to get inspection & appraisal. "We have a deal".

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Congratulations on the offer being accepted!! Fingers crossed inspection and everything else goes smoothly!

Morning, beautiful sunrise, overcast and snow expected later.

Oh Sharon, Peanut like Ziggy sometimes can get a little frisky when something is not to their liking.I’ve gouges out of my leg from last week.do you find ordering from Costco or other grocery stores ups your monthly food bill? Do your strawberries grow in flowers garden? Other than front of house ground is covered with snow but i guess a couple of snowdrops plants are showing their pretty little faces, even in this cold.will be so nice when we get to 60F. When I lived on the bay I had a side done in gamine cages, worked so hard in tilling a 3’ x 30’ long flower garden, the boys were selling boxes of wildflower seed for class fundraiser, lo and behold 80% were real weeds. I have saved seeds from different areas. I have thought along back border of property to make a flower garden, thought of buying a tiller but so many roots, any ideas how i could do it??

Didn’t hear any yahoo’s Pat. The furniture not in use right now is in back sheds?sounds like when you are getting your home back you want a complete change. I’m needing a change but it will only be piece decor I’m looking for.

Have no idea unless you don’t sleep Susan to get the quilt done..wish you luck.

been up since 5:30am, eyes are so heavy
Need to finish my craft room, think I will push myself to get it done the relax for rest of day. Dianne, have you seen your doctor, will you need surgery?a

Deb, when Sharon returns Tuesday sh is scheduled for 2 dog shows, do you have any scheduled?

What are you all up to

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No, I did not keep much but got rid of LOTS of things including a king size bed (so they could put bunk beds in). The only furniture I kept & moved to the storage barn was a BIG long, bright pink dresser that I had distressed. It was kind of a unique piece of furniture and the drawers were huge.
I will need new living room furniture, a dining room table & at least 1 more bed. Living room curtains, shower curtains, towels and rugs will need to be replaced due to damage or loss. I don't know how much will need to be repainted. Adam had agreed to repaint the master bedroom because of things he wanted to hang on the walls (wall mount TV, a huge curtain rod & shelf etc).
Realistically the house won't close before mid April. If they can have EVERYTHING gone and cleaned up by May 1, that would be acceptable to me.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations on the approval of the house Pat. I can hear the wheels turning, with all the plans you have to get your house back.
Susan, congrats on the fabric deals.
Betty, ashes are good for gardens, according to this article.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, wasn't some of Susan's fabric BEAUTIFUL!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

HURRAY, Pat!! Hoping the house inspection etc goes well.

Yes, I was up until almost 4am, trying to get yet one more block quilted. 6 blocks, & sashing and finishing still to do.

Victoria Harbour, ON

See me doing Happy Dance Pat?? Praying all goes well with home inspection and finances. You will be so happy having your home to yourself again..you likely won’t put out offer of accommodations again right?? Say right lol

Off shopping before the storm hits

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Pat - I'm pleased with my fabrics. Funny thing - I bought some black fabric with white patterns, then the Mystery Bag had more black with white flowers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Your luck Susan, look forward to seeing your next project.

Nothing like 5 Walmart tills open, 6 self serve and not a plastic or fabric bag to be had. Here I was, hip killing me packing my cart in blowing snow from the bags in my trunk..felt like leaving the cart i was bagging

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Emma and I are sitting in my over stuffed chair in my bedroom. We have gone for our afternoon walk but it was a short one because it started to rain. I figured a little bit of rain was not going to hurt us then it started really raining. Just had a cup of hot chocolate collagen (my sister turned me on to it) and waiting for my soup to finish. Ham shank I pre-cooked then added cabbage, potatoes, carrots, celery in the instapot. I cooked it in vegetable broth.

Right now both cats are sitting on the glider on the back patio by my bedroom window watching it rain. I am so pleased we are getting rain because I didn't water today expecting rain and it is 3 hours late. Next week, probably Friday, I will plant my tomatoes and determine how to hill up my potatoes.

I am also going to Google to see why my photos from my i phone will not sinc with my laptop. Stopped after an update.

Betty, maybe you could add some potting mix and potting soil on top of the roots and then throw the flower seeds on to that. Actually you could throw them on top of the snow and when the snow melts they would self plant and find a way to root themselves.

Susan, black and white is a wonderful combination.

Pat, that is good news. Now if their loan gets approved and the property passes inspection. It is shocking that you basically have to start over with your home. What mother's will do is always shocking but mother's have a special spot in Heaven.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes Linda, the wheels are turning!!! I hope to get a big area rug out of storage and use it for the first time in over 10 years. I could not use when Ben was using a wheelchair. It will either find a cherished place in this home or get sold/donated. I am not continuing to store it. Until I know about the area, I will hold off on furniture choices and curtains.

Susan, how cool to get additional fabric that coordinates! LUCKY you!

When I decided to leave the furniture it was with the knowledge that I would replace it. They gave up a lot of their stuff to be able to "fit" into this house. I am in a better position to replace stuff than they are.

My son, Clayton, in China has made noises about coming for a visit this summer. I doubt he will, but I will be ready just in case. Dana & Carrie have said they are coming for a weekend in June. I have had NO overnight guests in 2 years. I have been making the trip to Sumner and Portland, rather than them coming to me. Dana & Carrie have a guest room, last time Kevin & Gloria had me use Karina's bedroom.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, although snow missed us yesterday the sky is so dark I’m sure today is the day.

Woke up at 5, no way i could fall back to sleep so chores are done, bringing coffee downstairs.. hoping to get last shelf up and finish the clean up, a home for everything..Evan comes at 9-11 and Lily 11-1, was hoping the would cancel, still a chance ??

Can hear the joy in your post Pat, what fun you will have making it yours again. How far from you will their new home be? Lucky they were able to get a quick close. Do they have all the dogs

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No, I don't expect the closing to be "soon" (or soon enough! LOL) Their house will be 4 miles away, provided of course nothing goes wrong in the whole closing process.

I hope to get some more sorting done today, maybe move some things around in the garage. I need to get started on painting Kevin & Gloria's armoire. I am trying to scrab together a backing for a minky quilt top that Marie rescued at a thrift store. I have heard it can be tricky to quilt. I have determined the direction of the least stretch, bordered all of it with some flannel to stablize the edges (I will cut that away after quilting). Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If it works great.... if not, oh well, I will try a different way to finish.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Snow must have passed us by..

Susan “Happy Birthday”.. can see you quilting, picking your finder, wide awake and back at it..off you go, do something for you today.

4 miles is good, close enough for short visit.

Your day sounds much like mine, I keep saying I’ll do this today, forget only 24 hours 8n a day.Kids have left, i so want to go do more work in the craft room but seems more organizing I am doing more of a mess i am making. Big sigh.

What are you using 9n the armoire..that custom chalk paint has me sold..

Allowing myself one hour of rest then back at it
