Morning, woke up to a blizzard, i just hat that Marie does the back area so thought i would do it..got dressed into winter garb and she already did it..talked to her for a few minutes out front while she was doing hers.
Dianne, if it’s in your region please stay in, think as it warms up this morning they say it could be freezing rain..
Isn’t there a thing in the courts that is called like something “ in a timely due process’ where lawyer can demand it be thrown out..think there is a time link.
They are lucky to have you Susan, you are a good organizer and to donate a quilt to raise funds for the group it should make you Queen for the day lol
Hope you raise a fair amount.
You are right you had all the materials and it fill in your time while being creative.
Sharon and I were going to go to Barrie today but that is a no go.
I bought that electric mop maybe I will go do the basement floors, that is a no effort chore
Young Mason did a throw, I could make binding for it..not a thing needs done upstairs so i could knit some dishcloths, mindless knitting i call it.
Hope you have nice weather, sending prayers for all in need.
Best/ Worse & What did I learn today? Chat with friend and newcomers always welcome..pop in with a “hi”
Betty, it is a 3 hour trip to San Antonio, we will see the doctor, have lunch and drive back home. It makes for a long day.
A very long day seeing you will do all the driving… at least you aren’t worrying about a snow storm..hope there is some good news.
Sharon should be here shortly, sun is out so thought we would go to Barrie. Linda is going stir crazy, doesn’t like leaving him, start of Alzheimer’s but will come out with us.
a blizzard, Betty? Oh my......... If it's icy out, please be careful
Linda Kay - do be careful - 6 hours of driving makes for a very tiring day, plus the time waiting in the Dr's waiting room. I hope you get some rest in the waiting room.
Almost finished the Maple Leaf Heart quilt. Then it's on to the Log Cabin one. Had a good meeting yesterday. The speaker from the Focus Mind & Body Equine stables down the way was interesting. Now, to get ready for the AGM (Wellness) on the 25th, and then my senior group's AGM next month.
Only for a few hours Susan then the sun came out..enjoyed my day with Sharon and Linda..got everything I need for the March kids Easter class, glad about that, only think I need now is to make 34 pink pompoms.
I ended up with a new picture from Linda and Dave for my birthday, and from Sharon (Christmas $$$) a new ru g, won’t be in til mid March
All tired out..time for eats then bedo

That's a great article Betty.
Can't wait to see how long it takes for your phone to start ringing off the hook. You are going to be busy.
We are back home. Today's visit was a consultation. We have to go back for imaging if his pancreas, and we have to see a specialist for his diabetes.
Hurry up and wait...
Damn, when will this all happen Lindakay?? Did he not have other information or suggestions on Todd’s condition?
and a 6 hour drive each way? Oh my, Linda Kay - this sounds like it's taking over your lives. Yes, are there any suggestions of what Todd can do?
Betty - wonderful article, and everyone looks so happy & productive :)
Betty, that's a wonderful article. You are making a difference for those kids.
Linda, I hate you have that awful drive. It must be so tiring for you and Todd both. Seems they should have a facility so you can rest and get comfortable for a while on those trips. And now you have to go back?
It's a 3 hour drive each way. Doctor suggested he drink ensure drinks. He already does that. He has ordered imaging to see what's going on. It all takes time. Hurry up and wait. It's very frustrating. We told him this trip is very hard on Todd, we can't get the testing done here, our local hospital doesn't have the machines, or specialists to do it. We have no choice but to go to San Antonio.
Linda, it seems Todds Dr. is not a very good listener. How can he think putting Todd through all this is good for him?
We don't have a choice. Our little hospital can treat an ingrown toenail. That's about it. Anyone with a broken bone, heart problems... are taken to San Antonio by ambulance or helicopter. We have no specialty doctors here. It sucks.
That's just a shame Linda.. I'm so sorry.
Would they consider admitting him for a day, just to get all the imaging and testing done at once. Probably a no go with insurance, but, it would sure make it easier on both you and him.
Morning all,
Hard going for sure Lindakay, doesn’t seem fair when Todd is so I’ll to have to make these long trips even though you doing that driving and how hard on you..if someone from the doctor’s office could only take time to try and schedule all the tests at once even if you had to get a hotel for a few days so Todd can rest.
How is Walt doing Karen?
Dianne, when is your doctors appointments?
Melanie.Greg and Noah dropped in yesterday with a package of w dozen beautiful tulips
Drats, Ziggy starts his antics at 6:00 a.m. every morning, I so wanted to sleep in…sitting on couch making pompoms and head is bobbing, thinking I need a nap.
I wish there was an easy answer.
I bet those tulips are beautiful.
Betty, Walt is still sleeping the majority of the time. I hope they have a cancellation and get him in sooner.
i know how hard it is to sit and watch a loved one be so sick, overwhelm8ng and sad you can’t get answers right away.
They are just starting to open, will take photo when they are..the plant Giorgi gave me the other night is starting t bloom.
I was so tired today I slept on couch for 4 hrs then got ambitious enough to make some pompoms, open bags of carrots and now I am starting the kits, makes like easier..think I am going to cut off 1/2 of body of the bunny to make project work..I will see.
Sharon is busy running around getting last minute things for her trip to Australia..so hope the trip is what she is hoping for..leaves Thursday.
Wonderful article Betty! Here's hoping Sharon's trip is everything she hoped for.
Hang in there Linda & Todd, Karen & Walt! You are in my prayers as well as Susan. Bless you for your quilt efforts!
I had a good time in Portland with Kevin, his bride Gloria and Karina. It is so sweet to see her (7 YO in 1st grade) calling Kevin "Daddy". She asked her mother if she could, since "he loves me, takes care of me, helps me". Needless to say it is NOT making bio-dad very happy!!! She calsl bio "Daddy Casey", Kevin is "Daddy".
Adam first offer on the house was rejected and not even countered. He has offered another 11 K. I am praying this goes thru.
Pat - praying that Adam's next offer is more in line with what they're thinking. (not even a counter? sounds like he's nowhere near what they want)
Pat, the housing market is still tough and strange. People do not want their asking price, they want more than their asking price. They are always hoping to get a bidding war going. Interest rates are still very high and the government likes it that way.Word is that when this sorts itself out, people are going to find themselves paying on a home that is not worth what they paid for it.
Morning, high of 34°f here this morning..light snow later this morning.
Houses here are going for double their value, younger generation will never afford a home..rent is almost always over $2,000 +utilities.
Been asked to go to a luncheon 12-2 one of the neighbours is having for Marie whose birthday is today…she dropped in last night at 8:00 pm, i jumped as nobody comes here in the evening and certainly not to front door, she came in and we had a lovely talk..you know me, I’d much rather have said I couldn’t but Marie is so good to me thought it was a must.
Look forward hearing about your day
We are LONG past the bidding war stage of this housing issue here and prices are coming down. I do believe in a very short time people are going to be paying for a home that is mortgaged for WAY more than what its currently worth. THEN the defaults and repossessions will start. That said, renting is $2000 and up for 3 bedroom 2 bath that is 1,100 sf.
He offered 280K (for a home the seller is asking 300K) and requested 9K help with closing costs. I did NOT think that would fly!! He is working with a good realtor so either they will come up with a figure they can all agree on, or they will continue to look. I know Adam is feeling a little desperate but they (or should I say she?) brought this on themselves. I am certain they offered low looking for the owner to counter will something closer to what their lowest acceptable bid would be.
Well let’s hope their offer is accepted Karen..would the new house be close to you?
Been sitting in the sun and dozing on/off, drove down to Foodland and bought a bowl of Greek Salad, she said to come at noon, best I get a move on.
Lindakay, I’d say the tulip’s are about 1/2 open.
Off the Marie’s birthday party.
Unusual color! very pretty.
The house is in Burbank, a few minutes from Marie. They have lived in Burbank before, and it would be a good choice for them.
Not too far from you then.. sure hope offer gets accepted, then it’s how long before the closing?
Just got back from Carolyn’s, she had a nice luncheon for Marie’s birthday, only other lady there was Carolyn’s younger sister. You don’t see it everyday but she had bibles at the table and after reading scriptures as questions Re reading, much of the discussion was Lord based. Did enjoy outing ..
Thinking of having a nap again, fighting keeping awake..
Sun is out, cool walking but sun is strong enough to melt snow, mega mud outside.
I know I’m not suppose to be lifting but 4 Tories were near basement entrance, luckily wheel barrel to get through to back shed, couldn’t stand them sitting there..
The way that the snow is melting it’s good for my basement flooding..only hear pumps working the odd time, that is a relief.
here's hoping, Pat, that they get an offer accepted. $2k a month seems really high for a rental, but then for the size I suppose that's in keeping with the current market?
I got an ego stroke today, from the lady who wanted people to be able to quilt for free at the Community Centre. She said that I'm a much more accomplished quilter than she realized, and that she is. I thanked her kindly for saying that.
Praying they get a counter offer Pat.
Susan, congrats on the compliment. Glad she spoke up.
Betty, those tulips are beautiful.
Great dr. visit today. My hemoglobin is higher than it has ever been, 13.4. I knew it was better because I've been feeling so good but never expected to see it that high.
Karen, do you have ANY idea what you are doing right that created that wonderful higher hemoglobin count?? I am so glad you are feeling better.
Susan, wow.... she admitted her error! That is not something you see every day!
Betty.... Betty.... Betty!! Can't stop from potentially hurting yourself worse!!
I went to Sharon's & used her washer & dryer today. Cooked us salmon patties. I had bought 6 cans in pack of Salmon from Costco & finally used one today. They turned out good. She had help cutting down an old arborvitae, we got it loaded into her truck for the dump. It was a nice visit. Sharon & I will get if off the truck tomorrow morning.
I have had two injections of ferumoxytol. after the first one my hemoglobin went from 7.4 to 10.5. After the secon it went to 13.4. That has been the only change so it must be the reason. My hemoglobin has never been that high. I am really hoping that the G.A.V.E. has gone away again. Last time it was gone for 6 years. I think the recurrance was due to having covid because I vomited almost constantly. I'm sure it irritated my stomach and caused it to bleed again. That in turn causes the anemia. I'm so very grateful to be feeling good again. I'm sleeping better and walking better and have plenty of energy
Karen, that is awesome.
Morning all, light snow, wind is up, ‘this winter..
Great news Karen, here is hoping it’s up for good. Was that the same injection med you were taking before? How is Walt doing?
Lindakay, how is Todd been over the weekend?
Don’t know where the long weekend went, got all the pink pompoms done forthright Easter kits
Oops, here is June & Pat
Gab in a bit
Todd has bad and good days. Some days his pills help his stomach pain, other days not so much.
Judy sent me a message last night that her mother in law has passed away.
Please keep her in your prayers.
Linda, Judy has sure had some tough times lately. Goodness, she remains in my prayers with all my Davesgarden friends.
Karen, here's praying that your positive change remains! I am hoping you get answers for Walts issues and they are easily resolved.
This was the first I have ever taken that med Betty. I wonder if it would help Todd.
Is it an infusion Karen?
