Now doesn’t Stanley think he is king of the castle, nut the he is😜

Well I’ve had quite the weekend , many of you remember well some might not as it was ongoing when I joined DG,, a friend Cathy who came everywhere with me , would be odd if she didn’t drop in while she was out biking,, we were great friends both on our own we were company for each other, she is younger tan I by 15 years .. she lived with her parents . One day without knowing why she would answer my call, when she would see me and quickly try and get away. Then about 5 years ago met here just hoping into Foodland, i cornered her, I’d ask her how she was doing , etc.. she’d reluctantly answer them but after five minutes I could see she was coming around.although friendship never the was it way we visited, her mom has Alzheimer’s, she would visit with Cathy. Well a few days after New Year’s Day they had to have her admitted to hospital, said she wouldn’t be able to come home again, she is being placed in one of local homes so Cathy is on her own, yesterday had kids till 2, Cathy dropped in around 2 to tell me about her mom, 6 hours later she left, this morning she came at 10a.m. and didn’t teave ttil 6:30 talked the entire time, none stop. I’m used to resting and quiet time, sure hope this isn’t a daily thing..

Morning, what a beautiful sunrise, calm before the storm as they are calling for quite the snow/ice storm this afternoon.
Having faith as we soon will be in March and bound to have some sunshine days.

Was suppose to have 2 home schooled children this morning, will have to see if they will come out.making my coffee then will look for message sent to me where we discussed morning class but not t8me.

Hooe you are out of bad weather, stay safe

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about her Mom. It's hard to all of a sudden be on your own. Maybe she can help you with all those kids you have coming over for craft lessons.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I asked if she would like to learn a craft, would she like to learn to knit? Nope not fond of grafts..big sigh

I know she needs a friend

Brrr it is frigid cold here. I bundled up to get the TH out but I will still have to soon toast my tootsies by the wood stove.

My day did not get off to a good start. I woke up and was just freezing. I walked out into the other room and the door to the TH's enclosure was wide open. I must have really crashed last night after I put them out for last call. For the first time in a long time I took a sleeper and an oxi when I went to bed. It must have zonked me out.

Betty Cathy has put you in a difficult position hasn't she ? Did your homeschoolers show up ?

Aw Stanley he is such a handsome boy Pat. Any news on Adam's latest offer ?

My doctor's appointment is Mar 8. They had to shut down for a few days. You aren't even allowed to wait inside. You tell them what you are driving and they come out and wave you it. This knee isn't getting any better and aches all of the time.

Betty how did Liz make out weather wise ? Did she get snow?

This morning I wore very warm mitts Barb sent me. I always have such great memories of her and these mitts just keep her closer to me.

LK how are you and Todd? That 6 hour drive is hard. I know too well. Once I took the train back and forth and it took even longer but it saved Warren the drive.

Betty have you heard from Thea? I don't know if she is even on DG now.

Susan just how cold are you out there ?

Going to toast my tootsies. Stay safe and well.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, it's hard when someone suffocates you! My SIL Sharon, when she would go to visit Dad, she would stay and stay. Now, my Dad passed away several years ago and Sharon & I are trying to get together at least once a week. She babysits her grandson, takes him to school, picks him up so I KNOW there is a limit time wise. , That works best for me. Poor Cathy, she must be so lonely.

If Adam & Andrea have heard back, they have not told me. It's really too soon to expect an answer, the offer was only submitted Friday. The owners had an open house on Saturday and I am sure they are going to hope for offers from potential buyers after that.
Susan, have you heard back from the internet provider? I hope they are willing to work with you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, I hope you didn't have any frozen pipes. Praying your doctor has answers.
Todd is not doing any better. His pancreas is acting up, and the pills prescribed don't work. Trying to find food that will agree with him is not easy. Yogurt was a no go. Even his assure drinks bother him. His appointment to see the specialist isn't until the 23rd of March.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still waiting on the storm, perhaps it’s missed me, hoping Dianne not heading your way instead. Long time to wait for appointment when you are inso much pain.our doctor’s and vets are doing same, you call them when you arrive and they open the door for you, even worse when vet takes your furry in and you can’t go in.. they come out with outcome.

Morning class cancelled but Vanessa came tonight, she is the one with issues, a handful but I manage.

Don’t believe Thea is on DG but we’ve facebook’d from time to time. Liz didn’t get the snow but had extreme cold 34f

Sorry to hear Lindakay that Todd is having so much difficulty with eating again, hope he doesn’t lose the weight he just put on..don’t understand why they don’t hospitalize him and run all the tests, drats, makes me mad?

Pat, hope that Andy let’s you know the status of his offer on house and/or the what he is planning to do Re looking for another house.

Know it’s early but think I might get snuggly in bed…Dianne wish I had a fire going so I could warm my tootsies like you.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda, March 23 most seem like a LONG time from now!!! I hope you get some answers from the MD and Todd can get on the road to recovery.

My pet carrier was NOT where it had been stored, Stanley has vet appointment tomorrow, so I quickly bought a used on off Marketplace. It's a little small for him, luckily, he won't be in it long.

I finished the clothing chore today. I finished sorting the clothes that were too big, got them separated and bagged. Ready to go to their new homes. I limited the new clothes to not more than the number I got rid of. I have 54 inches of closet, and I hang everything, Tshirt, jeans, sweaters, etc, I have to limit the clothes!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, I imagine it is a snow day for the kids.
Doubtful the girls will come today. Marie has already done the pathway for back entrance, basement entrance and where the township plow made is run.

I never go on Marketplace but perhaps I should, just never think of it,you get such good deals and seem to always find what you want and don’t want lol

You are lucky you can get Stanley in a crate, more so with a smaller one.. when Sharon gets back i will have to have her bring one of the big crates as Ziggy needs to go in. Not sure about anyone else but I’ve a 3 bedroom, every closet if filled with my clothing including downstairs closet, add 3 chest of drawers, think I had better get purging as you do..not sure how I can get into your frame of mind in doing so.

If left alone today I will tidy up the craft room, not sure why I tidy up and within a few days it’s back to looking like a war zone and that is taking into account I haven’t been sewing, can’t believe how long it’s been since i touched a sewing project, would say over a year at least but would have to admit shoulder feeling much better not using my right arm.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LAST year, when it was time to get Stanley in a hard crate, it was a rodeo! It sincerely was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. He had his back legs spread and clinging to the walls of the entry into the crate, refusing to get in. I ended up wrapping him in a towel and putting him in upside down to avoid the whole spread leg resistance thing. LAST year was better than the year before!!! He thrashed in the crate so hard he knocked the crate off the front seat of the car on the way to the vet
.
I can only get ruthless with clothes (or fabric, or any other hobby) when it is necessary. I only have so much space, end of story! I have some clothes that are too small out in the storage barn. I need to go thru them and see if any of them fit currently. It's also possible my tastes have changed enough to eliminate some of them.

I don't see the overall "store in the barn" any different than you having clothes in a different closet. If you rotate them by season, or size and will actually use them at some point, AND you have the ROOM, why not?? The room limitation and having some place /someone to gift them to makes a BIG difference! I find it always easier when I know someone else needs the clothes.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Promise, will start purging

Pat and June came this morning bearing birthday cake and gifts. We spent a few hours just gabbing which was nice.

Glad they left when they did because the wind is up and there are white outs.

Ohh one of the thingsI got for my birthday is something I’d not seen before, it’s a miniature metal blade type unit that you run over your ironing wool matt and it cleans it..works great.

Trying t get materials together so Giorgio can finish her beach bag, going to Cuba for March break.

Ladies - nothing like trying to store things in a 14ft x 50ft mobile home, even with an extension of a 10ft x 24ft addition! No basement or attic lol Yes, I have a huge shed, but that's for Christmas decorations, yard machinery & camping items. If I had the space you all have, I'd be filling it too, I'm sure lmao
I've been thinking of getting rid of my piano. I don't know how to play & it's 800 lbs of antique that I can't seem to donate anywhere.
I think I've gotten through our bad weather (I hope!!). We had a big dump of snow & -35c etc the other day, but it seems to be warming up. I'm hoping for the snow to clear more so I can get out to the shed in the back yard & pack away my Christmas stuff - SO much is still sitting in my livingroom on the couch, etc. It clutters my mind.
Working on the Log Cabin quilt for the Silver Willow Senior Citizen's AGM on the 16th. Other mini-projects too.

Verona, ON

The snow is starting to let up but still falling. We are in the midst of the largest snowfall this winter. It's been snowing overnight starting around 11/12. It's beautiful outside. I went out around 3 am to move the Bronco into a better position for when the plow comes in. The snow was up to mid shin then. I've got to stop being such a procrastinator. I had pulled up yesterday after chasing down Zeke and I knew my leg wouldn't handle walking further if I parked in my usual spot.

It's hotter than Hades in the house. I've been burning hard wood the last couple of days. Hard wood also means lots of ash to clean out and I can see I need to do that probably tomorrow. Out of kindling so tomorrow I will have to use the splitter and make some.

Pat I would rather tangle with a 125 lb dog than a cat. Don't know how they do it but my dogs always seem to sense when the car ride is a vet visit and resist. Otherwise they are raring to go.

Betty don't you go out there and shovel. It's not a fluffy snow. You haven't mentioned it lately but I have a hankering for Chinese food. The next time I am in Kingston I will get some take out.

Not a clothes horse anymore although when I taught I sure was. I just have the bare minimum of 'going to town' clothes. I did have 1 dress that I could wear for several occasions but I think I told you I woke up 1 night to Zeke chewing the hem. It was long enough I can hem it and keep wearing it.

Susan how are things in the west ?

Sending positive thoughts to you and Todd LK.

Stay safe and warm everyone.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

It's warming up here but still lots of snow so not able to get to the backyard to get my Christmas decoration boxes out so I can pack everything away.
Busy as heck here - meetings, meetings, meetings with Wellness & Senior's groups.
Gotta get busy on the log cabin quilt.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, your neighbor is Ann angel shoveling snow for you.
When do you see your doctor?
Sounds like you had an early birthday party.
Can you post a photo of that wool pressing mat cleaner?
Susan, seems like you always have things to do. Glad it's warming up for you.
Pat, about every 2 years I go through closet and purge things. If it hasn't been worn in the past year, it gets donated.
Dianne, take it easy splitting wood. When do you see your doctor for your knee?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, in like a lion out like a lamb but today is in like a lamb so for sure it will be out like a lion..old farmers prediction.

Just overcast here today Dianne 28°f, doesn’t say snow til Friday, just what I need, trip to Barrie for cardiologist appointment, if too bad I will cancel.
Marie indeed is Ana “earthly Angel” sage is 69 and as strong as an ox..she had heart surgery about 8 years ago..think they gave her a bionic heart..just saw her going for her walk, she is always walking, think she does 20 miles a day.

I will take a photo next time I am downstairs

Marie just came in, will be back after my perm

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Stanley lost 9 ozs this year!!! He is now 13# 8.5 oz. I think most of that was due to conscious choice to see that he played more. When I was doing my "walking" in the house, I drug a cat toy and encouraged him to follow and chase the feathers. I have also been making other opportunities for him to play with me..

Things are looking up on our longarm learning curve. Still not perfect, I don't always get the "next" row quite as tight as I would like & I have a plan to figure that out. It is "acceptable" but I want "PERFECT". For now, with these small quilts we will donate, this is the time to perfect the skill. At this point, "done is better than perfect" and the Linus Project will be ecstatic to get them. I did not get to Marie's until 4 Pm because of Stanley's vet appointment, and we got 2 small whole cloth panel quilts on & off the longarm. I hope to get binding on some of these little quilts and get them ready for donation. A friend wants one of the Tinkerbell ones for her granddaughter's bedroom, probably as a wall hanging.

Adam called; he was so upset. Rocket Mortgage had said they qualified for a Conventional loan and would forward the paperwork to him. When he didn't get it, he contacted them. They changed their mind!! They "misspoke" and his credit score needed to be 15 points higher! That leaves them with the only the FHA loan available to them and the vast majority of the houses will not qualify for one. FHA has VERY stringent requirements and most houses will not pass their inspection. (They did not get the latest house they put an offer on).

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about the mistake. Sad that a company can get away with that.

Happy St. David's Day everyone !! He was the patron saint of Wales. My mom was so proud of being Welsh.

In like a lion or a lamb in your neck of the woods ?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

St. David for Wales, St Patrick's for Ireland, and Robbie Burns for Scotland lol Guess he wasn't sainted!
Happy St. David's Day, Dianne!!

Yes, I keep busy. Not sure if it's nervous energy, my filling my time to keep my mind off other stuff, my losing weight and gaining energy, because I can do what I want When I want, having a "full plate" or a combination of everything, but I'm getting things done that need to be done.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had my visit with Marie, got my perm, having late lunch, student at 4:30 then bedtime.

Sorry to hear the news that Adam received, very disappointing for them for sure..not sure how your financial system works re getting a home but sounds like that out them back quite a few steps..just maybe they had best look for a rental for awhile. When do the puppies leave.

My stepfather Jim always celebrated St. David’s Day Dianne, he was from Wales, immigrated in his late teens..he sure was a great stepdad.

Susan, likely energy comes from nerves as does the desire to take on the world..make sure you take time to rest or it will come back and eventually catch up to you.

Pat, I’ve bought so many toys for Ziggy but he he won’t play, I do see lately though that during the night he goes into his toy box and takes a few out, not to sure he plays with them though.did make him a pompom and see it and different areas of the house so who knows what he does during the night. Does Stanley sleep most of the day?

Since I’ve been spending so much time on the couch I’ve put over half I had lost before Christmas, today she brings me a birthday gift, beautiful solar light, a box of chocolates and 20 chocolates, thot what I needed that is for sure..too many sweets in this house.Sunday she brought me an apple pie right out the oven, a few days earlier banana muffins and I wonder why I’m putting on weight.

Dianne, funny you asked about Chinese food, Greg called this morning, they are all not 100%, Noah was going to hospital, Greg thinks it’s strep throat and he himself hasn’t been well so thought it best not to come around, glad he isn’t. Said they wanted to take me out to Mandarin Restaurant Saturday night bought they decided to come on Sunday, invited a few people and will order Chinese in. Spoke with Jeff, asked what I wanted for birthday, said nothing, just have a list of to do’s which really are quite easy to get done..so that will be my gift, I reminded them that once my birthday list is done Mothers Day isn’t far from that.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Birthday wish & Mother's day wish, what a GREAT gift THAT would be.

Stanley sleeps most of the day, if I am in my recliner, he is on my legs snoozing. There are certain toys, that he will play with, sometimes even without me. I hang his wand with colorful fabric & feathers where he can reach it while it remains tethered. If he is awake, he is usually right at my side, whether I am sewing or using computer. He can be a real nuisance as he is an attention suck and lays down on whatever I am working on.

When Adam gets home again, I do intend to talk to him about the possible necessity of renting. THAT is NOT easy with big dogs but that is NOT my problem. There is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house for rent listed in Kennewick that is advertised as pets with approval $2200 per month.

Adam's stepdaughter was PAID to take pictures of the puppies, She took pictures of each puppy in a basket, NO full body pics, and people are asking for body pictures of course. My patience is wearing thin.

Off to do a little sewing, bindings & whatnot.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Amazing how much rent or house payments have gone up. If he rents, that will help his score go up.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I believe Adam is so focused on buying a house NOW, that anything different just isn't going to satisfy him. I honestly believe the prices will come down in the next year. The price is artificially high, and I see prices ARE dropping now. When the price of houses was rising so rapidly, people developed a warped idea of the long-term worth of their house. Some people are going to be upside down in their loans shortly if they bought in the last 2 years.

He could increase his score by asking different creditors to increase his limit and a few other tricks. I just don't think it will be fast enough. I KNOW he is going to ask for more time and I am just not up to it. I am barely hanging in there now! Andrea, dogs & kids have pushed me to my limit.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

This is the way credit scores work. They look at late payments over 30 days, and thy look at credit available and credit used. If you are maxed out on your credit cards and have no credit left to use, your score will go down. Credit scores aid in rental approvals, car loans and insurance for cars or houses. Best thing to have is open credit with no or low balances. And long term, 24 months or longer, credit history. Being on a new job is not helping him either. That is what a FHA loan is designed for.

We are having winter in Southern Nevada. My one brother lives outside of Reno, near the California border. They are getting slammed. my other brother lives near the Utah border. Whatever Reno area gets on one day, brother near Utah gets it the
next day. We actually had snow here in Las Vegas this morning. I didn't sleep well last night because the heavy rain kept hitting the metal awning on top of the fireplace chimney. I should have recorded myself yesterday. wind was blowing and I am running around in the front landscape tossing chicken manure and mills mix, which is a combination of several ingredients. I wanted to get it down before the rain moved in. I have two workers coming tomorrow to help me with the getting ready for spring done.

Granddaughter and her husband are leaving Friday to drive to Scottsdale, Ariz to look for a property to purchase. Probably will not be Scottsdale. Mayo Clinic Credit Union gives them a special loan for the 5 years of the Residency. This will be their 3rd home, so they know what they are doing. Market has slowed down so that is in their favor. They have 12 houses to look at. Lost two houses to being sold and that is not bad for a week delay.

We have been 15 degrees below our normal temperatures but need the moisture so bad, no one is complaining. My strawberries are showing their heads and a few even have blooms. Roses have budded out and garden helpers tomorrow or Friday will get my vegetable garden double dug so I can get my tomatoes planted. Right now my whole landscape is a total disaster. Either cut back or bare. Good thing I am on the HOA Board. Hope I know what I am doing. Never done anything this drastic before as cutting back everything.

I went to Trader Jo's today and they actually had eggs. I went to a place called CAL Farm which is where I purchase potting soil and such much cheaper than plant nurseries.

Pat - Adam needs to get his family OUT of your home, one way or another. I agree about the credit score. I owe nothing to anyone, and therefor my credit score is low - no mortgage, no credit cards, just a home I own, and the lot it's on I pay rent on. Great for my income, but not great if I needed credit for anything. You're right Pat, his renting is NOT your problem?
What is Trader Jo's - a farmer's market?
Sharon, sorry to hear about your rotten weather am laughing about the sight of you running around your yard trying to throw the manure & mills around - you must have been a sight, for you to have wanted to record yourself lol
Betty - guess I've been this way all my life - Energizer Bunny lol Not going to stop now, and it IS a way to get my mind re-focused on productive things rather than dwelling on my situation. Nothing I can do about it now, so being productive actually helps. Right now I'm hand-quilting the Log Cabin quilt. Hope I get it done for March 16th's AGM where it can be raffled off.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, why not do free motion quilting on your machine. A lot quicker to do.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm not great with straight sewing, and that's what this is - log cabin, all straight lines. Whether quick or slow, I sew crooked.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Overcast this morning, storm brewing for tomorrow, hope i can get to Barrie for Doctor appointment and home before it starts.

Susan, You need to buy the magnetic attachment, great to have in your sewing kit.. You measure from needle to get 1/8th, 1/4, 1/2”, size you want and it guides you with straight stitch.

Lindakay, my wool Matt cleaner, can you see the how much came off the Matt this morning.

Best of luck Karen with your talk with Adam, am sure it will be a difficult one.
Omg he had today to get photo’s done..shaking my head, you would have thought she would have gladly helped out and now, will she come and do the photo’s of what people want to see. Some don’t like buying older puppies as likely they’ve taken on bad habits.

Did 2 hrs work in craft room, can’t see any difference, will have a good lunch then put in a few more hours… nope, not overdoing.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

This machine says it's a quilting sewing machine, and I have all sorts of feet. One says it's a "walking foot" but I'm not sure how to use any of the feet so I use the basic foot for straight, simple, sewing.
Now that I've started hand-quilting, I can't go back & do machine quilting anyway.

Happy birthday BETTY!!! I hope it is a wonderful day for you & weather cooperates for your doctor appointment.

I have to keep my wool mat covered as Stanley wants to scratch it. He is REALLY good about not scratching anything else! I made a cute "pillow case" cover out of aTshirt.

Susan, I admire you hand quilting. I have only done a little and it just not my idea of fun.

I had the BEST time with Sharon yesterday. She did not have to pick up her grandson, so we were able to stay in Walla Walla ALL day! We went to thrift stores and fabric stores. I even found a dress that was brand new for $3.50 and it fits great! I bought most of the rest of the kitchen stuff I needed at the thrift store. A new broiler pan, pyrex baking dishes, cupcake tin, pizza cutter, etc, etc. I feel like I have just about everything I need now. I am spending a lot of time shopping online for a used drop leaf table to replace the one I gave a friend before A&A moved in.

I just found out my grandson got a lead part in Frozen play and I hope to be able to watch it tonight.

Happy Birthday, Betty!! Hope you had a wonderful day.

They were predicting snow and rain all day here, since early in the week. So far nothing, it looks like it's all going south of me. Looks like NW Indiana, and Michigan will get hit hard.
