Glad you got your power back on Susan.
Beautiful photos Betty. Can't believe how big he is getting.
Where was the snow photo taken?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Grayson looks like quite the charmer, and such a happy boy!
Betty - is it Christmas, or Hallowe'en? lol

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Betty, please, be careful with the mouse poison. If Ziggy were to bite the mouse that ate the poison, it could effect him, too. I lost a cat that way. He found a mouse that had eaten the poison, but, it takes a little time to kill the mouse. The vet said he must have bitten the mouse, it was too late to save him, as it caused massive hemorraging that couldn't be reversed. Not saying that will happen, just a warning. Evan was only a little over a year, and I still haven't forgiven myself for that.

On a happy note, Grayson sure is adorable!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I have used those "sticky pads" with success. I have also used the old standby of the mouse trap with spring. I am always afraid I will get ME when I set those!

Liver and onions can be done WRONG a multitude of ways. Done right, it is delicious but if you have already decided you NEVER want to touch it again, I understand. THAT is how I feel about Brussell sprouts.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, what a glorious fall day, what I wouldn’t give fora month of this

Lindakay, its about 50 miles or so from me and Barrie about 30 south of me..both had it but not I but it sure was cold

Must say Pat i never tasted liver and onions, at least i don’t think I have, more thinking what it is.

Thank you so much Debbie, didn’t realize that could happen. I will remove the little dishes. During the night I could hear Ziggy and little mousse mouse, you know that period of time when you are in never never land? Heard them at it,,put my head back on the pillow and dozed off

The tree is Halloween Susan, ghosts and spider ornaments.

Marie came over to seeif uwasgoinpppppp to work in yard, needless to say i am beyond having pain..took meds..falling to sleep

Can’t ask for better weather than what we’ve had the last few days and what they’re calling for in the next two days.

I had a girlfriend from years ago drop in with Ann this afternoon, great chat.

Guess everybody is taking advantage of this beautiful day.

Hope all are well, gab later

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My sister hosted birthday dinner for her BIL at her house, then we watched Top Gun Maverick. REALLY enjoyed it, we had planned to go see it in the theater but were too slow. It was already available thru Amazon prime to rent!! 5 of us watched in the comfort of Marie's home.
I started working on doll clothes again. We are hopelessly behind. I got 17 pairs of jeans done, 4 skirts & 2 shorts. Not sure what we are going to do this year. We already have 50 new dolls purchased but no matter how many times I told Marie NO more 18 inch dolls, she kept dragging home more used dolls. I

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like everyone has had a busy day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Pat, thought with all going on there would be no dolls/garb this year..you’ve got so much energy..

Lindakay, how is Todd doing today, should also ask how you are doing.

I tried to think of everything i needed before climbing to bed, drats, forgot ham for Ziggy’s dresser treat

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Todd is slowly getting better. Walking around more. Still gets tired from the chemo pills. I am doing good. Staying busy sewing quilts.
There is going to be a small quilt show here next month. Think I will put some in and see if they will sell.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Selling some quilts in the show would be a nice bonus!

Ben's niece was in town for a meeting & arranged to stop by and pick up the genealogy paperwork I had from the Hull side of the family. She talked NON-stop without even comments from me for at least the first hour & then went on another 2 more hours! She was not going to get home until 1 AM (an hour & half drive) & had to get to work. I guess she needed to talk.

It's been a weird week; yesterday made the 3 x in 7 days I have been approached about how to arrange for state paid in-home care. My experience with crisis works and as case manager for Aging & Long-Term Care has been useful. I used to carry the contact information with when I was still employed with ALTC, guess I need to put it back in my phone.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My niece Geneieve in the costume her grandma, my sister Marie made.

Working on doll clothes. The stack on the right is the cut & started pants & skirts. The navy & black pants are already in the car.

I have decided that I am dressing as the tooth fairy to pass out candy at our church Trunk or Treat. I bought the supplies today. I am trying to see if I can buy toothbrushes at reasonable price from a local dentist. I could buy them at the dollar store cheaply, but they would not be individually wrapped. OR buy the travel kit with toothbrush, toothpaste, floss in a zipper container. Unfortunately, I don't think I can afford those at $1.25 per package! I am considering buying enough of them for the teen shelter, that's about 40 of them.

Love the costumes.
That's a lot of work for the doll clothes.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, Marie does a great job on the costumes. There is also a staff that has a clear crystal ball on the end that lights up. Genieve could not take that to the school party. Marie designed it to come apart for shipping & then get reassembled, & still access switch for the light. It was an amazing effort!

What we do for family members.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all,

I took cough medic8n i got from pharmacy a few times..l think it has sleeping medication in it..have fireplace on and can’t warm up, hope I’ve got ahead of it..flu shot thursday at 4.

That costume is above beautiful, you both should have been employed by major cities doing costumes for their parades.

So sad, been gabbing withthe kids who sew here. All saying what they will be for Halloween and they are not allowed to wear any kind of costume to school next Monday.

My leaf guy called and said he would be here over the weekend to do the leaves, then back one more time once all have fallen.

Sharon fell today in a hole her dogs had dug, her legs look pretty bad ..guess leaves had filled the hole and she didn’t see it..hope it doesn’t do more harm to her back.

I slept since noon, think a hot bath is in order then comfy in bed bout thought you’d enjoy these photo’s.

That pumpkin is so BIG, Grayson could curl up in it like a cat!! I especially like the serious looking pic with grandpa & Grayson, too cute.
I am picking up the tooth brushes this afternoon. My DDS said he would donate 25 of them!! that won't be enough for everybody, but I will give the kids a choice between fruit snacks, pencils or toothbrushes. When I dressed for Halloween as a tooth fairy over 30 years ago, during the day, I went to various friends' houses passing out toothbrushes, it was a LOT of fun.
When Marie was still teaching, I convinced her we should go to school as conjoined twins. I made a shirt with 2 neck openings and we both wore jeans & tennis shoes. In every class some kid would ask, "how do you go to the bathroom?" We laughed and said, "take turns".

You are both just too creative, co joined, can see it now..another avenue should have been teaching home economics which included sewing.

Yes, i see Roger in the photo’s with Greg in the,..can feel the love!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well Betty. Praying Sharon's leg is OK. Sounds like your cough syrup has codeine in it.
Love the photos Betty and Pat.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL... good drugs = better sleeping Betty!
Thanks Linda

Verona, ON

Can't sleep so here I am.

Betty I have had that cough medicine you are taking. It does have something in it to help you rest or even sleep. I think it gives you a rest between coughing spells. And yes LK it has codeine in it.

I have spent several hours the last 2 days doing the tango with my leaf blower. I still have a good chunk of time with the leaves but I wanted to get a path where I walk down the hill when we go for a walk. When we get frost the leaves just become a slip and slide.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Berry, that is one large pumpkin. That is a memory that that grand baby of yours will remember for a long time. My GGD is such a pleasure when she is not sick. When sick, I would rather not visit.

We had a terrible wind storm here Saturday and scattered debris all over our area. Wind kept blowing on Sunday and Sunday is the day I do n gardening. Monday, my garden helper came over and helped me clean up and with the both of us it took close to 6 hours. Not perfect, but much better. We are now in the low 70s and will be for a while. I have my containers filled with perlite and water. On Thursday I will take coleus cuttings and start plants for next year.

I am having my hair done tomorrow, so I will go vote afterward.

Pat, you are so blessed to be able to sew like that and make such small children happy with their dolls.

I cleaned and refilled the 3 hummingbird feeders.

Last week was the Friday I hosted a wedding for a young couple. My pool's guys daughter. It was a delightful wedding and the mother of the bride and her step-father left here with a large box of plant cuttings. Some with roots and some without. They live in North Carolina. I do have some plants that you do not normally find in just a nursery. Years ago I would search for unusual flowers. I am up late because I could not go to sleep. Going to look on Amazon to see if I can find something I am curious about. I will let you know.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Dianne, you are right, wet or frosty leaves are HUGE slip hazard.

Sharon, do you have any pics to share? I will bet the wedding was beautiful and so very personal to have it in your yard, I am sure your pool guy has seen some wonderful homes/yards, what a complement to you personally that he approached you to even ask to use your space. That says something about your yard, but even more, about YOU. Soooo very special.

I am hoping that Marie will go with me to the trunk or treat. She has an awesome "big bird" costume that we made years ago when she was still teaching in Burbank. She spent the whole day ONLY clucking, no talking. She has more control than me! Just spending the day in that costume with the big feet would have driven me crazy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Posted but didn’t send grrr
In bed today,
Back tomorrow

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you are feeling better soon Betty.
Make sure you get a covid and flu test. Lots of it going around.
Pat, that would have been so funny, her in big bird costume and clucking all day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, sunshine day..

Ray is here doing my yard.#1 pass then comes back once more to catch leaves that finally fall off the trees and do my gutter..such a nice man..didn’t put up the fees this year, said I was a nice lady (a lot he knows) reduced the fee cost by $40. Just not having to worry about the leaves takes a big load off my shoulders.

Asked if he could do Sharon’s but he said no, dropped a bunch of customers but said i will always be on his list.

I believe it was UTI infection again, my bottom is raw, have all kinds of salves but good old Vaseline seems to do the trick.

Finally i broke down and had Jeff send me a photo if his kayak so now i can continue with his stained glass piece and know he will be wondering what to heck I’m up to lol
Next part is tedious so might get an easier piece started.

Didn’t eat yesterday just 2 puddings, hungry now so might cook up some eggs so I can make egg salad sandwiches.

Wonder how Karen is making out?

Sharon are the storms still rolling in?

When is your quilt show Lindakay?

Bet Susan you are back into your normal routine.

Deb, Sharon is considering going to the dog show near Orlando florida beginning of December and asked if I would go with her? Do you do that show?

Watching the transformation i my yard instead of colourful leaves I see grass again…am sure some of the leaves still in the tree will fall

Off to make some cinnamon rolls for Ray and I

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

That was so sweet of Ray to say you would remain on his list, sorry your sister could not start as new. Cinnamon rolls? no wonder you stay on the list!! LOL

My helpers come today and with any luck I will have all this "stuff" moved and my new 8 foot table in place. It will take a while to get everything situated but I am so eager to have all the tabletop space. I know that for a while I will need to store some boxes under it until I can get more sorting, decluttering & donating done. I will want to put a skirt on it, like I did the one I am removing. I want to put curtains up over my storage shelves as well. I imagine a lot of it will probably have to wait until after Kevin's wedding 11.21.

I broke down & bought folding file boxes. Marie & I used to have LOTS of them that we kept for years. folding them down & storing them when not in use. Unfortunately, I have "loaned" out many of them to help people move with the promise of getting them back. Somehow, many seemed to have "forgotten" that promise once their move was over. They are study with handles cut into them & not too big so really nice to handle. I don't like my new ones nearly as much as my previous ones, but they will do. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Pratt-Retail-Specialties-15-in-L-x-10-in-W-x-12-in-D-Heavy-Duty-Document-Box-with-Handles-10-each-DOCBX10/313713043

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, don't let your infection get out of control. Pat, nothing like getting organized. No matter how many times, I sort and reorganize, it doesn't take long to get bad again.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Truth is, I have WAY TOO MUCH fabric. I need to find a way to decide what is worth keeping & what I should give up. AND stop buying ANY more unless it is for a project that I am CURRENTLY working on & then not touch anything else until THAT one is finished. I saw a post that fit me to a tee. (The squirrel, NOT the person who can focus!)
"I guess some people can start a task and then finish it instead of trying to do 14 things at once like squirrel on cocaine."

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Actually Pat, my pool guy didn't ask. He was just voicing concerns because his daughter could not find a venue that was no costing a fortune, which they or parents could not afford. They are just out of college and starting a new part of their life. I offered my back garden and they were ecstatic. Perfect timing as far as weather. Plumeria and roses were blooming along with zinnias and pentas. Funny thing is the grooms parents were from North Carolina and could not believe how many different plants I have. I told them I have many of each plant and they were welcome to come over the next day, before they flew back to North Carolina and dig up what they wanted. I gave them a box and a shovel and they had a blast and they were very careful and didn't really disturb anything.

Betty, my friend lived to be 103 and a UTI killed her. Please be careful. Had another friend die from a abscessed tooth. Had a dentist appointment on Monday and died on Saturday.

Betty a dog show would be fun to go to. Especially in Orlando. How did your friend make out with her home that was in the hurricane.

Our weather here today is beautiful High of 66 and not even a breeze. No clouds, just clear blue skies.

Linda, did you ever hear from the State agency?

I am going to cut some coleus today to start rooting. So I need to get off of here and get to work. I just wanted to say hi because by the time I am done for the day, I am to tired to communicate. Hugs to all of you.

Pat, my I phone takes live photos and DG does not accept them. I need to determine how to change them.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I thought one of my boys would be in Orlando for the shows, but, he came home with me after the Ohio show, instead of going to Florida. My friend who shows him said he isn't ready, yet. I think the shows run from Tuesday through the weekend in Orlando, with the big National Championship being on Saturday and Sunday. I've never gone, but, maybe some day!

We do have big shows coming up locally the first weekend of January, in Schaumburg, IL, It's at a new site, with a hotel attached to the conference center where the show will be held. I've been to the conference center for other things, it should be really nice. I'm looking forward to that. In late August, there's going to be a big weekend right in Chicago on the lake front. That should be pretty special.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, if you use your camera function instead of using the camera WHILE texting etc, the photo should go to your gallery. From your gallery, "share" and send it to your email, then download it. That is how I get to use my phone & store pics on my computer. Until I learned how to do that, I had to use my digital camera and download pics which was a pain.
It was a VERY generous offer to allow them to use your yard. I can imagine how excited the North Carolina parents were to take home plants! It is so much fun sharing the flowers.
Debbie, I imagine it is expensive to enter & show so at least you spared yourself that expense if your dog wasn't ready.
My hired help has come and gone & NOW the real work starts for me!!! the sorting & making decisions, donating & storing. I had them load up a bunch of stuff into my truck to take to donations. I was too late to be able to drive it in & donate today.

Very nice to offer your yard as a venue for the wedding
Gosh, I started this post hours ago, and forgot it. Been a very busy week.
I went to the Flu Clinic and got the flu shot & pneumonia shot. My arm's SORE.
I went to town to pick up some of the donations for the Silent Auction, and bowled 3 games in the League. The seniors had a table at the Flapjack Fiesta & Community Showcase, and I set up a table. I did a powerpoint presentation, and played crib with the fellow at the next table (I won lol). Every day this week I've been away from home for mornings & afternoons, and some evenings. I'm tired.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't over do Susan.

I just read on Facebook, that our dear friend Synda Haag just passed away. No details. Her husband Rick announced it about midnight.
Please keep him in your prayers.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am sorry to hear of your loss Linda.

Susan, you make me tired just reading your post! LOL

Moved us over

We are now condo owners. Nearly all the family came to unload the truck and it went fast. A beautiful warm sunny day helped. I figure in two or three years we will have found everything and have it all arranged.
We got our wifi yesterday. They don't come in, just hook it up outside and hand us a bag of cables. A friend was going to come over aftwer work and give us a hand with it but suddenly my doorbell rang and there stood my Grandson and new wife in from Denver. We got all our hugging and crying over with and he said what are you doing. I told him and he and his wife jumped uo and got it all done very quickly. They are both huge nerds.
Neither of us is sleeping very well. hpoing that get sorted out soon. We just get up and get a few things done and try snoozing again. Neighbors must think we are some kind of nuts with lights on at all hours.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
