I just sew an hour or two at a time. My back won't let me sit longer than that.
That is a huge class. Looks like they all had fun.
Best/worse and what did I learn today…a place for all, come join in
Linda, I meant call the State Insurance commissioner. Also call the American Cancer Society.
The weather here has turned delightful. Just got home from Sunday family dinner. GGD was a delight tonight. My GS who is out of college and returned from his mission for the church has a girlfriend. He has a great job and everyone is holding their breath because he has never dated one girl for very long. Why, because he want to get married and start the next chapter of his life. He is 24.
Betty those children are having the times of their lives. They will remember this for their whole life.
Karen I have moved 8 times in my whole life. I have been in this house 21 years and the one before was 20 years. I have been in Las Vegas for 62 years and have lived in 5 houses. Bought my first home in 1962.
Pat, I am with you. Would rather have everything I am suppose to do, done. Takes a loy of pressure off.
I will check in tomorrow.
Sharon, I will make some calls, and see what I can come up with.
Nasty day out there. No walk yet and Zeke sure needs one.
Yesterday Zeke opened a drawer in the bathroom and pulled out a roll of toilet paper then ran with it chewing away. I have to keep a supply of toilet paper in the drawer or otherwise it is fair game for him. Last night he pulled the beautiful pastel coloured toothbrush holder off the counter and broke it. A sweet friend made it for me so I am hoping he is still doing pottery. Zeke then opened another drawer in the bathroom pillaged the drawer and came out with a full tube of stuff I use to keep my teeth in place. I was so tired I fell asleep around 8 but woke up just after 9. That's when Zeke went wild. He also took 2 dishes out of the kitchen sink. I think you would all agree he was full of the old nick.
Of course Chaos stayed laying on the bed beside me.
I always used to say way back in the late 60's and early 70's if you get me the boxes I could back up the house in 1 day.
Like Betty I loved the colours in the quilt.
Sure hope Susan can hang in there until tomorrow. What a terrible situation she ran into.
My dryer is fixed - woo hoo !! If you averaged it out I do a wash a day.
Need to tidy up the house before my cleaning lady comes tomorrow.
Betty I think I am going to start up the wood stove. Earliest I have ever done. All this rain doesn't help my joints. Bet you are aching too !
Oh my! Zeke was definitely full of it for sure. Can you keep the door closed so he can't get in?
Our cold front has arrived, It rained all night, and will most of today, then the temps are supposed to drop tomorrow, 70 for the high, and mid 40 at night for most of the week. It will feel good to have cooler weather.
Linda, that is COOL! I like your version of split 9 patch. It is ANOTHER one I would like to try! I will never get to them all.
Dianne, GOODNESS Zeke was on a tear!! He really went on a scavenger hunt pillaging all he could find! Naughty big boy.
Betty, your class looks BIG and happy!!
Sharon, I can see why you are holding your breath. If he is NOW ready to move on, maybe he has found the right woman.
Sis & I delivered all the flowers, the reception supplies & gift for Karina. We made a long tulle skirt in strips of lavender & purple, bought leggings & blouse to coordinate with it. She loves to play dress up. We had a nice dinner & drove home. Marie slept the whole way there AND back LOL. I have offered to spend the night at her house so she can take a motel and get a full night's sleep but so far has turned me down.
same weather as you Dianne, yep bones are giving me the what for. Grrrr what I wouldn’t give to be sitt8ng near a wood fireplace..might just put mine one to watch the flames and hear the crackle..i can pretend I’m at your house and enjoying your wood fire. I might be able to keep an eye on Zeke lol. Lordy he got into mischief yesterday, was it that he didn’t tire from walks in the cold or he just said I am a pup and can get into anything..by the way Dianne, my nieces went to Medford last week although the had a great time with their group of friends they said much same. a lot of new vendors set up at the garden centre on highway leaving Collingwood, said it was pretty good.
Those attending Bala must have froze their butts.
I am sure Susan is no longer counting days but counting hours. Am sure she will ask for photo’s and cleanliness report before travelling to someone’s home if she travels again.
Poor Marie, bet she is fighting as hard as she can not to put him in a home for a rest..they do that in your state right? Maybe you have to be firmer with Marie, for a couple of night trade lodgings or it will do her in. Sigh of relief that you have the florals delivered just in case the weather turns bad, best be prepared. Guess if they are calling for bad weather you could leave anew days earlier?
Karen, hooe you are taking time to relax a tad..soon soon you will be on a new adventure.. can’t come fast enough I bet.
Deb, Sharon said likely you and she might have been at same dog shows, next she enters she will check with me to see if you are entered.
Sharon,i can hear excitement in your posts, am sure it’s the Sunday weekly dinner with your family and that the weather temps is lowering..as you get great outdoor weather I get cold.. that is alright seeing I don’t go too far from home. Any pictures of the wedding? Did the weather cooperate?
Got up at 7 to let Ziggy out then fell back to sleep til 9..Marie came over for 1/2 hr then downstairs I went.
I should not have stopped cleaning, what a disaster in my craft room so while I cam cleaning the mess I tidying up basement. Going to cook supper and have a late lunch..have to go finish cleaning and I have 2 students tonight..think I will make sure the classes are cancelled for Monday after Christmas p, too exhausting as I am not as young as I once was lol
Called Sharon,Linda and Suzanne to check if their schedule is clear to go to Markham Craft show November 18th. Had to cancel a few times in the past due to weather conditions..coming sooner than I thought
Back at it before I fall asleep, can feel my eyes get heavier, off to find my drugs so I can get the rest of the day in.
Oh before I forget I was in contact with Liz, she is doing well, she now stacks items on the shelves and says she has lost a lot of weight and is thrilled.
I feel all I can do is offer. Marie will take me up on it, or she won't. Sometimes she surprises me and accepts more help.
When the time draws closer to the wedding, I will watch the weather reports closely. The only way Marie can go is if we go up & back on the same day. If it becomes JUST me, then when I travel may change.
Do hope she can go, would do her good.
You are a good sister Pat, she is lucky to have you.
Dianne, have bedroom fireplace on and that of the living room, feels so comfy.
Time to ear then downstairs..decided I had best do a lick and a spit upstairs before going downstairs is a must… Susan has me worried about 🪳, so cleaning it is lol

The trip to Nebraska wasn't too bad. Left around 5:45am, got there around 1:30. Of course, I never thought that the fellow I was meeting was coming from Wyoming, so he was thinking we'd meet up on his time, and I thought we'd meet up on mine. So, I had to wait an hour, but, if it weren't for that, we'd have pretty much timed it perfectly! We chatted for about an hour, and both got on the road headed opposite directions. I got home at 12:30am, and went straight to bed!
Trying to winterize as much as possible. They said we had a few snow flurries this morning, but, I missed them. There is a chance of more tonight, but, nothing that will stick to the ground.
Dianne, you may want to invest in some child proof locks for your drawers. Some of my cabinets have them, and I had one on my last refridgerator. I came home twice to an emptied fridge, and went out right away to get child proof locks. I had one girl, the same one the opened the fridge, that would open the oven door and take out meat that was cooking.
Betty - thank goodness your dryer is fixed
yes, counting the hours. Looking forward to being in my own wee bed, and a clean home.
I took pictures of where Susan lived/slept - her poor cat is left in her room.

Debbie, I admire your dedication to finding good homes for rescue dogs.
Lordy Denb, that was kind of you to drive that distance, did he take to the dog?sure hope it’s his forever home. No fuss when he took him?? Omg never heard of in refrigerator or oven..my German Shepard though always had an eye of steak for bbq’ing.
Here is hoping this snowfall isn’t the beginning of your winter, so early, however must say that i be seen snow came at Halloween and stayed til April, thought winter would never end.
Safe flight Susan..nothing feels better than being in your own bed. Susan’s living conditions could not have been good for her health both mentally and physically.
Yesterday, one of the 6 year old girls,3rd class she has been in drove me crazy, wouldn’t you know a mom called and i said I’d fit her little girl 8n, drats same little girl, I’m great with kids but this one?? Big sigh
Told the father 2 hrs is far too long, an hour might be better because she wants to play
Long 4 days, one more and I’m hoping to be back in my regular routine.
Hummmm.... if she is just 6 years old, how much does the class cost? Is it possible you are being used as a BABYSITTER??? Sometimes for self-preservation you need to require the parent's assistance if the child is "too young" and eliminate the "accidental babysitter" situation!!
Oh my...sounds like Zeke needs a few more doors closed to him. We've always crate trained ours. They didn't view the crate as punishment, it was home. Unless we were there for play time or out time under supervision they were in crate for nearly the first year. We always had very large crates so they had a sleep area, an eating area and a play area. Going into the crate always involved a treat like a cong filled with doggy cheese or peanut butter so they were always ready to go in. After they were allowed out all the time the crate was still there and they went in often to sleep or play.
Betty 6 seems a bit young.. Think I'd be telling parents to bring her back next year. If she needs too much help, she's just not quite ready.
Well tomorrow is busy day number one. Loading up the moving truck. Next busy day will be Saturday, unloading the truck.
I will see you all again once we get settled in and I have WiFi access.

Safe travels Karen.
Betty, I don't think we have places for the older people to be dropped off, just to give the family a break. Nursing homes here, require a doctor to admit you, and once you are admitted, it is a permanent place for them.
Betty, I agree with everyone else. I would put an age limit to the classes, or tell parents must be present.
Thanks gor the update on Liz.
Morning, dreary, rain most of the week,I’m hoping by this afternoon I can cut the grass once last time, wash the mower set it in the back, take battery out of it and voila, can say goodnight to it til spring.
That is too bad Lindakay, i believe there is one in Penetang, they have a day program for the more active but if spouse is beyond tired they take them in for a week or so..will have to find more about it.
All the kids regardless of age have been a joy to teach, patient and enjoying each other’s company..this one must have a challenge, if you tell her not to do something she looks at you and does it. Just cannot warm up to her..horrible to say..had I known she was the little crafter i had so much trouble with I would never have let her c9me…oh well, will come up with something.
Both Karen and Susan are getting excited about now..look forward to hearing how they are doing.
Listen to BT Dianne, they are saying winter will soon be here, start preparing with skin lotion, thought he would say shovels lol must moisturize head to foot, have short showers, keep moisturize, use humidifier in house..no to humidifier, bones would ache.
June and Pat will be here shortly, i have my kayak sg out, thought I’d get pieces glued to the glass to start cutting, I’ve set my pattern somewhere, but where..guess i should go look in trunk of my car as I may not have brought it in.
Sounds like you have another busy day Betty.
Safe travels for Susan and Karen.
All I need to do is get an oil change in my car.
really anxious to get home. Amy really isn't relating to me at all. We sit in the same room, but don't talk for hours. The kids enjoy spending time with me, and Felix (the dad) stays "in his room", drinking beer. I can't see coming back here. Amy's calling for a taxi to take me to the airport. Guess because she's never been to the airport, she won't be giving me a ride. She had to give me $3 US so I'd have enough for taxi fare. It's $30 and I was short about $1 USD. I checked, and the taxi company doesn't take credit cards (?!?!?!). Ah well, I have some USD left. I asked for, and am being given a Georgia State coffee cup that Susan used. Everything that I made for her (lap quilt & a knitted shawl) is put away in the shed in the back yard. I would love to have gotten them, but that's not going to happen. I really think they don't know How to have company. When I first arrived, I was left to my own devices as per meals, except that they eat dinner semi-together. Folding table brought into the living room, and Felix doesn't eat with us at all. He stays in "his room".
Well, we went shopping a few times, out to visit more family on Sunday, went 10-pin bowling, had a turkey dinner, and a BBQ in the back yard, as well as going to a Mexican restaurant and played Monopoly. I didn't expect to be taken to tourist-y spots, but it would have been nice to spend ......... oh, I don't know doing what, but well..... several times they would take off to go do stuff & I was left at home. That's when I would go walking within close distance to the house, because of course it had to be left unlocked. I guess they wouldn't know what to do at my home, either.
The sure did not know how to treat company Susan.
Betty, perfect example of ODD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Not a fun one, that is for sure. It is sometimes helpful to offer up something as a "suggestion" rather than a direct command. "That generally works better to .... " I think I would require a talk with the parent AND then a private talk with the kid. "If you would like to be in my class again, there are some things you need to do differently." "Marissa, we talked about this, please..... " Then, NOT enroll her again if she can't be compliant. You offer a community service; you are NOT under any obligation to accept kids that have proven themselves to be difficult.
LOTS to do today, so I best get started.
Thanks Pat, good advice, will take it for sure..wish I had known as I would never had taken her on as a student had I known it was her. Too late now..maybe there will a change now that I have a few suggestions..
Don’t know about you but something is definitely wrong with that family..can’t think you would want to go back..isn’t it strange, we kind of mentally think how a person lives and sometimes it’s 100% the opposite. You can now count hours until you are home…hurrah
Gee, I too need an oil change, forgot today to call for a Friday appt. i don’t like when you’ve over 3,000 marked on the little sticker in windshield and they tell you it has to be done now because the car has been sitting..grrr must call tomorrow.
Giorgia left at 6:15, been sitting working on Jeff’s stained glass, tired so think I will bring my toast and hot chocolate to the bedroom
Sleep well, hope sandman finds you all
Sage travel Karen and Susan
They don't go by miles here in Texas. Sensors in the new cars tell us when it's time to change. I have 36,000 miles, and have changed the oil 4 times now.
Yes, my car has sensor too. It gives me a warning that my oil life is now "15% and time to change oil". I need to have the power steering in my truck looked at. I hope it's not too expensive to fix. I need to get it SOLD.
I got the laundry done & worked for hours on Marie's altering. She can rarely wear anything off the rack, her proportions are so odd. She's lost weight and part of what had been waiting for hemming etc is now too big. Eliminated some of my work!
I got the fresh sheets on the bed and really had to struggle to get Stanley OUT from under the fitted sheet, the little stinker. It is common for him to get between the fitted and flat sheet, but this was ridiculous!
I'm home, a bit late because my ride didn't come for an hour after I landed. Then I had an hour's drive home so didn't get home until 11pm
I left my suitcase in the trunk, got in & stripped down, throwing everything in the washer, on "Allergen" then had a shower & when my hair was dry, went to sleep. I was so tired. I took everything out of the suitcase (leaving the suitcase outside) and put all clothes in the washer in "Allergen" mode.
I have ice cream (base is in the fridge) & a birthday cake to make for tomorrow's Senior meeting, and an agenda to make up & email out. Still don't have a secretary for the Society.
Right now, I'm heading over to Dianne's to pick up my budgie, Pixie.

Glad to hear you are finally home, and hot some rest.
Think I would spray that suitcase with bug spray, making sure no eggs survive.
I am glad you are home. I bet you ARE TIRED!!! Maybe even open the suitcase and the suitcase OPEN, then set off a bug bomb in your trunk!
You made Susan proud Susan..do you think Susan thought this,is the way, people live..still can’t believe it..so glad you are home but Lordy you’ve got quite the agenda going on and with being so tired, no fun
Imagine Karen is on her way north if all going according to plan.
Linda just messaged me, in emerge, thinks another heart attack, prayers please.
Joanne’s hubby Henri (Roger’s cousin) who never stops is quite I’ll..sleep most of the day, these days are worrisome..
Went to back shed, carried 5 fall totes to back shed, did some measuring, thought if I brought in a metal frame, put it in tool room it would make room for all the stained glass equipment and small plastic totes, got it done then it started to rain heavily..had a student come to sew at 4, almost cancelled because i can barely move, i know what you are all saying but it had to be done.
Hate to take sleeping pills as i am waiting for news from Linda
Sooo tired anyway, if i doze off hope i can hear my iPad ping
Thanks for update Betty. Continued prayers.
Betty, I looked at your weather for the week and yes you are getting rain and then snow. According to the weather channel, big time cold hurt coming your way. We are dropping big time early next week about 20 degrees but then back up to high 70s. But wind is coming with it.
I am starting on my embroidery project today. Yes, Sunday dinner was delightful. Eloise Grace is over her cold and she was delightful. She will be three in March. She has that adorable baby talk lisp. Baby will be one in December. He is trying to walk and when he does, he will be hard to catch. When they move to wherever their daddy gets his internship, they will not know what happened. Right now they have two uncles, one aunt and grandma, grandpa and great-grandma to entertain them.
Susan, so pleased you are on the way back home. I cannot believe they couldn't have taken you closer to the airport so you could have found some cheaper transportation.
Karen, So excited to hear escrow has closed and you are unpacking.
Linda, I do hope you call the Insurance Commissioner. What should not be able to happen is their in-insurance providers are over 3 hours away. There has to be exceptions that can be placed on that insurance by the State. Please be sure to keep track of all expenses, including lodging and gas, meals and such because all can be write offs for medical on your taxes.
I typed this yesterday and didn't send.
Sharon, it is so special when kids get the opportunity to grow up around family. I was so blessed to have Aunts & Uncles within a few miles of me plus, although my Mom's siblings were further away, we saw them all at least once a year for a week at a time.
3 of my 4 sons lived within 20 minutes of me until a few years ago.
Morning, sipping on a coffee with yes Sharon a day likely filled with rain.
Melanie called me to see if she could use my car today for work, not sure what happened to her new truck, maybe something wrong with it..
With Linda calling to say she was unwell, Henri and my own aches and pains sure didn’t sleep well so decided to get up about 4:30 as I wont be travelling anywhere..
Off I go to give Mel my car, she will drop me off at home, then I will hopefully nap
Just more working on the garage and my sewing room. for me I am trying to get it all sorted and cleaned up so I can move filing cabinet out to the garage and an 8 foot table into my sewing area.
Betty, sending prayers for your friend Linda.
Sharon, I did find a number for the insurance people, gave them all the information. Said they will get back with me.
I hope that the insurance people are speedy with their response and can you find care that is closer, more convenient and affordable. With the price of gas etc, 3 hours is NOT a good option.
I agree
Linda good job. I am sure their are regulations that will help you out with this. So pleased you called.
I didn't sleep well last night. Getting ready to make myself some liver and onions. One of my favorite and not too many people like it.
Betty, hope you get some rest and give those pained muscles or nerves a rest. Looks like you are either getting rain or snow for the next week. We have a cold front moving in and now they are saying we might get rain. I will believe it when I see it. Looks like you will not need to mow, just let the snow cover it and be done. Is your coleus still growing inside?
Pat, I hope you have help moving that furniture. How many days until the wedding? Looks like a storm is coming down through your area. It is the one that is coming from your area down toward us.
I just had a monarch fly around the back landscape. Again, way late to be here. Hummers are still here. Ones still here usually do not leave.
I best get off of here and cook my dinner. Was supposed o be cooked yesterday but time got away from me and i got lazy.
Yep, after you posted Sharon, I looked at the forecast. We are supposed to be 50's for the highs over the next 10 days... likely rain tomorrow too! I guess I had better make up my mind about some of the stuff I took out of the garage and set against the house!
I have help arranged for next Thursday. I have the area cleared in the garage. I have banker file boxes being delivered next Tuesday. I want to sort thru everything in the cabinet, box it all so the cabinet can be moved. Full it would be WAY too heavy to lift up that one stair out of the sewing room. Then put the stuff back in the cabinet when it's in the garage. I generally make a list of what I want done & where I want stuff moved to so I can make the most of the time I have help. Some of it I COULD do but would rather hire, carrying stuff around the house and into the storage barn leaves me hurting & out of breath.
YUM, liver and onions! Thankfully my sister, husband & her BIL & wife all like liver and onions so that is a meal we can all agree on! Tomorrow I will make lasagna & steamed vegetables for dinner for all of us.
I took a break this evening & sewed some doll clothes & cut up scraps for the dog bed stuffing. Going to read for a few minutes & go to bed.
Sharon - I could have found cheaper accommodations near their home, at Days Inn. Even so, at $103/night, it would be around $1,000 and I simply couldn't afford that.
I left the suitcase overnight in the trunk of the car & checked it thoroughly before I brought it in. It was cold. It's definitely late fall, and we'll be getting rain & **** this weekend (don't want to swear here LOL)
Breaker popped on me today, and I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go back on, but found that I had to push it IN before I could flip it ON.
Evening, 7:12pm on a Friday night and i am already in bed..
Hear you Pat about hiring, i am still too stubborn and doing closing for the winter. My guy though should be here this week Re getting leaves doe and boy are there leaves.
Was up yesterday because Ziggy was having a great time playing with a baby mouse, needless to say it was own my bed they were playing. He doesn’t kill the babies and bigger ones he did..i tried several times to get it to no avail. Then after my bath i sat on the bed, before i left the room, rearranged the pillows and that sucker of a mouse was there so still couldn’t get him..this afternoon I did put poison where Ziggy can’t get at it.
Today i got quite a lot of winterizing done, grass cut, pond emptied and some of the garden art stored away…tomorrow i should be able to finish it.
Pat that cabinet sounds lovely, too bad it has to go into storage. List does wonders when you have help.
Wonder how Karen’s trip went..closing was today wasn’t it?
Susan, before long you will be a Mrs. Fix it all..
Sharon yesterday it was so cold, this morning I told Marie I had to come in, couldn’t feel my fingers.by noon it had warmed up. Just north of us they had a significant amount of snow, think plows were out. Maybe you have a pet butterfly like I’ve a pet mouse, here is hoping Susan doesn’t get a pet cockroach.
As for liver and onions, sorry, no like, so much so i think I’d throw out a pan if liver was cooked in it. Am sure it’s delicious but you wont convince me
Am working a bit on Jeff’s stained glass piece..hurting my shoulders, then everything pains my shoulders. Have no idea what I will do this winter when i cannot wear a heavy sweater or coat.
