Morning all, this the perfect day out there, that being said temps will feel around 93°F so trying to get all my outdoor work done before the heat of the day.
Got my grass cut, was sitting having a coffee at the little table i put out for Marie and Ted near their gardens, the other day when we were having our pizza Ted mentioned that the tree at main entrance should have two limbs cut, pretty low when trucks came in sooo before you know it up and at it , those 2 humongous limbs were down and in the fire pit.
Hope you have a great day
Off to play in the gardens, trimming needs done

Best/Worse/what did I learn Today? Come sit awhile and share you day..newcomers always welcome!
Thanks for the new room Betty.
Please be careful working outside. Take care of those wounds too. My skin is beginning to get thin, and just the slightest bump and I get bruised.
Yes, it's so nice to have Todd home, as we almost lost him twice. He continues to get better each day. We were talking today about his month in the hospital. He doesn't remember half of it, due to excessive meds and sundowner syndrome. He still has a little confusion now and then, but getting better. He has slept 3 whole nights in a row, so I hope he is getting his regular sleep pattern back. Last week's lab work was all good, doctor even told him to cut back on the potassium supplements.
Again, I can't say thank you enough for all your thoughts and prayers.
Linda, so happy to hear Todd is doing so well. That was quite the ordeal for both of you.
Had a viewing today. Turns out we were given the wrong info two days ago. Was no viewing then. Wearisome
I came down with the crud on Friday. Garden helper was here and I just got up off the back patio couch and came and laid down. He had never seen me do that. Just a little achy and congested with a mild headache. Today I woke up all stuffed up but a hot shower took care of that. Deep voice but no sore throat like yesterday. Felt OK until I took Emma for her second walk. Big time pain in my right lung area. Came home and we immediately laid down and it did not hurt laying down. I very seldom ever get sick so keep your fingers crossed.
Betty, that is so funny about those limbs. I would have done the same thing.
Ivana Trump died from a fall down the stairs. Her stairs were probably longer than ours but stairs are dangerous.
Linda, I am so pleased Todd is getting better each day. Still in my prayers.
Hugs to all of you.
Morning, another beautiful day out there..just too bad much isn’t blooming, big sigh..everyone saying same thing about their gardens
Dropping in to say high then out to water… not sure if it’s Ted or Marie pushing Ted but he says that tree that has grown sideway should come down, who know, he just might start today.. I’m thinking a day of rest but when you are offered help you take it when they want to do it right.
Wish i had the strength to take the trip folding 16’ umbrella off its support so i could give it a scrub but won’t even try.
That is such good new Lindakay, , am sure Todd can see he is improving which encourages him to do a tad more.
Sorry Karen about not having the viewing the other day..agent not doing you justice. Did the individual who put the offer in tell you why they didn’t go through with purchase?
Sharon perhaps you should get it checked out asap, a cold with pain in the lung could
Result in pneumonia.
Off to walk the gardens, don’t know why i do that because I always come up with more work.will take a photo of that tree ted wants to cut…
Betty, he backed out because we weren't willing to spend 50-60 thousand dollars to make the changes he wanted.
Mix-up in showing dates was by accident all it meant was we had an extra lunch day out.
I am seeing other places we would probably like but no use in doing more than looking at pictures right now. Just hoping this doesn't drag out for months. Not in the best frame of mind now.
Sorry hit send button twice.

Know you would like to be, over in before you are moving in a blizzard..gee whizz some people want to buy an older home but want a new home.
Here is a “Test Your Memory” If you came across these DG friends
i see by the Georgian Bay scenes I sketched that I must have one these in 2008, Lordy sooo long ago, not sure why I did not mail them out..
I know 4 out of 9, perhaps if I had their DG names I’d remember.
Sharin, please get a covid test, to make sure you aren't contagious. What you have are symptoms of covid as well.
Praying you are feeling better soon.
Betty, that is a huge tree. Please be careful.
I don't recognize any of those names. They are beautiful sketches.
Few have passed on Lindakay, wonder what would happen next time someone goes stateside
Oh my. That's sure makes a difference.
It sure does..
Sharon how are you feeling today? Imagine you are not outside with your heat..
Betty - that is a lot of tree to take down. I don't recognize the names either. I'm checking in my DG swap book. I'll let you know if I recognize anyone.
Sharon, take a test please.
Linda Kay - glad you and Todd are doing better, with him being at home.
Geeze the heat is tremendous for a lot of us! It's been over 30c here.
Back from the camping/fishing weekend. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Didn't catch any fish, but Dianne did - 6 of them, released 4 of them (too small), and one of the two won as the longest fish measured for the Adult catagory. The day before a 14 year old caught a 50cm long fish - almost 2ft long. It was before the contest, but he will get a prize for one of the longest fish caught this year.
I am PINK with a sunburn. I don't seem to be peeling, so maybe I put enough cream on afterwards. I wore a sleeveless scoop-neck summer top, so my front & back neck area are pink as are both my arms. It was sore sleeping last night, but I'll be fine quickly enough.
sorry Betty - none of these names ring a bell. I have a book I've put DG addresses in for quilt & other swaps, but none of those names are in it.
Was a long time ago, Laura was always on, she lived in Australia.was a long time ago, 14 years
That's about when I joined DG, I believe. Yes, it's been a long time that I've been on, too.
Good morning. Thunderstorms in the forecast. I hope some rain will break this heat. I don't understand why more people aren't in the lake. By the sounds of the ATVs people are out cruising the roads.
I spent most of yesterday in the Escape. Google directions just out and out proved to be wrong. I felt like Betty and Debbie when they ended up in a corn field.
Zeke has taken up residence with Chaos and I. He is a huge Rotti puppy with a lovely disposition. He is just a darling !! Chaos is coping well. I noticed when Chaos thought I wasn't watching he was giving Zeke some positive attention. Zeke is named after an amazing surfer dude who was Samoan and grew up in Hawaii. My nieces surfed with him when they lived in Hawaii. Well rather they were in awe of his talent.
I got lost so many times and I even stopped and asked for directions twice. I was going to Addison Ont. Lots of traffic on the 401. There is a compass on my dash so on the way home I followed it. I don't know why I didn't going there.
Sharon get yourself some medical attention.
LK such positive news for Todd.
I am going out to listen and watch the loons in the bay. They are very talkative this morning.
Dianne, you got a new puppy?
Photos please?
Yes LK a new puppy. He is gorgeous - the whole litter of 8 were stunning. Picking 1 out was hard. I'll try and get some pictures later today. Kieran was here he just had to see Zeke before he went to work. He did manage to get the crate disassembled moved upstairs and reassembled. Tonight Zeke will not happily spend his overnight in the crate. I need some sleep. For a pup he has a deep voice.
Betty I would have been right at home taking down the tree. I love the sound of a chainsaw - weird right ? Warren and I spent a lot of time falling and cutting up trees.
It is still raining here. It looks like a rainy week.
Just got on again, Roger’s tv is out, can get on Facebook here and there, sent messages who sent me emails earlier today, keeps saying “sending”
We will see if this goes through
Interesting day - Coffeetime at Senior Centre, then my 1st ever drive-on-my-own to Red Deer.for my imaging on my heart & lungs, then off to the pet store to buy myself a budgie. It's blue and his name is Pixie (my daughter thinks that's a bad name for a boy, but there are boy pixies in fairy tales!). I got a message about Bob's trial date - Feb 15th. I will get a subpoena closer to the date, to show up as a witness. I can't BELIEVE how relieved I am for it to be that far away. 1. I have my current life back and don't have to wait for yet another remand 2.As his arrest was Nov of '21, by Feb of '23 we'll have been separated for over a year which makes the divorce that much easier to to go through, and 3.I now have TIME to go through the legal process to put in for the divorce.
I was being stressed by having NO time to get this settled. I'm also going to have time to lose the weight I want to. I could lose 50 lbs easily (well, not easily, but I mean I need to lose at least that much) to look & feel better.
Morning, sunshine day..
Dianne, love the name Zeke, did he sleep through the night? thought you were looking for a rescue, how much fun will that be having a puppy to play with, would love to see a photo of Zeke.
Lordy you must have really been lost, at least you didn’t end up on airport runway lol
Susan that is quite a list..as long as you don’t get discouraged at the items on it..all will go smoother once the trial is over with, that is a lot of pressure on you. Courts are so on overload.
Sharon, how are you doing??
Deb,are you back to being mobile?
Ross and crew are here working on the roof, says they will do back side that has 3 overhangs, won’t attempt taking shingles off front side because they are calling for rain tomorrow so guess by weekend it will be done. Says he does have tarp that he could cover the front side..he will see.
I’ll phone Templeton glass to see about the front window..don’t like t things dragging!
Making spaghetti sauce for the crew, hope I have the spaghetti.will bake up rolls and bread pudding and they should be ok til they are home for their night time eats with family
Sounds like a loud, busy day at your home.
I know they will enjoy the homemade food.
They worked till lunch, looked like they just got out of a pool, soaking wet. Looks nice, a charcoal grey with sparkles of grey/blue..a roof is a roof, not something would notice lol
Don’t know why i am tired but am
Did they get it all done?
Linda, so good to hear that Todd continues his progress!!! A full night's sleep will also do wonders!
Karen, hopefully your new showing will result in good things.
Dianne, a NEW puppy! Zeke sounds like a sweetie & I hope he adjusts to his new home quickly & sleeps thru the night!!! Stanley has been climbing on me & squeaking, very happy to see me.
Sharon, do follow up. You don't want to get sicker!!! If you need meds, now is the time to find out!!
Got back this afternoon, the drive was LONG. There was sooooo much construction that 3 different times there was 1 lane of 10 to 20 MPH, really drug out the trip.
I usually plan one project and then add more when I get there. THIS time son & DIL really got overly ambitious with their lists!!! Carrie & I hung new curtains in the guest room on window & closet. We moved and disassembled the queen bed. Moved the frame out & rehomed it. Completely went thru everything in the room, closet, dresser etc. Then we did her pantry & laundry room.
Son had hopes I would clear an area of weeds & blackberries behind the house, around the external heat pump unit & the path TO the area. I got it cut down but not bagged up. I did get the front flowerbed weeded and bagged (THAT was on MY list, not his LOL) .
We made it to donation place before closing Monday night, I put everything that would not fit into their garbage can into my car. It filled one of my 3 BIG garbage cans. Old wore out pillows, recyclying cardboard, 2 huge contractor bags of weeds & more. We got a lot done just not everything I would have liked to have done.. My next trip will be WITH my sewing machines so I can hem all the curtains in their family room & likely exchange out living room curtains. Hopefully deliver the new quilt.
They have a beginner Pro-Stitcher class in Walla Walla (an hour away) that I will likely pay to attend. It's in August. Marie is planning a trip to MA in August so I don't know if she will be able to attend with me or not. I hope to get to her house tomorrow and see if I can get a practice piece loaded and figure out what the problem is.
Morning, it will be a scorcher, will be a feel like 102°f
Lordy, not sure how you can keep up with your work schedule
Ross and the boys are here..said he will do the front ‘v’ of the front deck roof , says they will have time to do that but will work till rain goes through which i think is about 9:30..they come from an hour away..told Ross she should of waited until thursday..oh well, guess they have other jobs to do.
Betty, that's hot for your area. Don't let the roofers get dehydrated.
Pat, that was a lot of work. Hope you can figure out your machine.
Supposed to be 107 here today.
Showing weather across all over USA and Europe..hard for many
Betty, I think 102 in YOUR area would be like 115 here! (which I think we have done before, years ago).
I think my focus here had better be completely empty my car, unpack & clean my "apartment". Stanley sheds some & desperately need to clean the big area rug I have.
I am frustrated with son. He is telling me that they don't think they can find anything by 8.31 deadline. I am telling him that based on information we both have collected, they won't qualify to even rent if Andrea doesn't go back to work. All I hear are excuses why she can't. Too expensive to get childcare before school restarts. There are 3 perfectly capable daughters that could share that responsibility. I am NOT buying their excuses! They have stretched my patience thin.
Hotter than Hades here too. It's even too hot to walk the TH. The lake is very quiet.
Kieran and I had planned to take the chainsaw and cut wood today but it is far too hot.
Zeke has to be 1 of the sweetest puppies I have ever had. He knows sit, come and stay already. He's very mellow. I don't need to crate him overnight but I did this morning when I went to the village. I heard his outrage a 1/2 mi up the lane. Chaos is excellent with him.
Betty you do have AC right ?
Sharon is probably laughing at Betty and I complaining about the 90* temps. We are just not used to such high temps - usually we get that in August. How are you feeling ?
My mom always told the story about when she was pregnant with the twins - they were born Aug. 15. Apparently she was so huge she even knocked over a wash tub when she turned around. It was a blazing hot August - so hot and she was so large my dad used to walk with her after midnight when it was cooler.
How are you and Todd doing LK ?
Karen any news about selling/buying ? When we sold our first house in Toronto we got offers the first day it was on the market - the conditions ranged from it must have cable TV to $50,000 worth of things that needed to be done. Sending positive thoughts that things will move in a timely manner for you and Walt.
Pat good for you sticking to your guns. You have more than met them half way. I bet Stanley was very glad to see you.
Susan I am so glad you have a court date - helps to have it. Sure hope it doesn't get moved again.
Liz how are you managing out there in Cali ? How is Judy ?
Stay safe, well and hydrated.
Don’t know how those guys are roofing in this heat, i ordered pizza and we found a, area that had a nice breeze, Ross had to take a trip to Coldwater for 2 pkgs of shingles, an hour or so and the house will be done. Ross will be back in the morning to pick up rest of shingles and his equipment along with cutting a few tree limbs that sit on the roof.
Paving company just came to pave Corey’s driveway, that as well is hard seeing it’s so hot.
Be back in a sec karen
Yes, Stanley has been extra needy. !/2 a mile away? Zeke does have some GREAT lungs!! LOL I am so glad that Chaos has found a little buddy, a puppy to love. It sounded to me like he tolerated Kai but didn't necessarily love him.
107 here today. Too hot to do anything outside.
Just talked to Todd's surgeon and his chemo nurse. First visit is next week Wednesday. We have to be there at 2, for lab work, then at 3 to see the oncologist, to see what the plan is. He is both scared, and anxious.
I talked to Judy Monday night. She is doing really good after her surgery.
Thanks for the update on Judy, glad to hear she is doing well.
I am sure you both are anxious, but I am also sure that having a known treatment plan will be a relief.
We added an amendment to our listing that we will pay a small percentage of buyers closing costs. It's what previous buyer had asked for and we agreed to but a lesser percentage amount. Maybe this will tip the scales in our favor.
Sometimes that is what will do it, best of luck!
