Betty I am not sure how you foil your jewels but here's an excellent way. Foil a few of the jewels you need and but them in a plastic glass or unbreakable mug then shake. Works perfectly and there are no bumps or crimps in the foil.

Soon headed for the tub then bed to read.

Stay safe and well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Congratulations Susan on being the new president.

Betty, that pie looks good.
Guess I don't know much about stained glass. Why is each piece wrapped with foil.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you (curtsying deeply). I shall do my best for the seniors of our community & beyond.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne i put them in Tupperware container and shake the dickens out of them..thanks for input.ran out of black foil till i get to midland tomorrow so i used copper back foil i mistakenly bought on the coloured alleys, think the difference will be seen?

Lindakay, the purpose of the foil is to bind all the pieces together with solder.

Good luck Susan

Where is the sandman

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

No doubt in mind that you would be elected Susan, congrats! Enjoy the position and the positive influence you will be in that role. GREAT CHOICE!!!
Hair cut and eye exam today. I can't wait to get new glasses, these are NOT cutting it on any level!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, 32f and overcast..know it is melting out there because I’m at hearing sump pump every 2 minutes…

This morning when I went out to get Easter totes i pick up some pretty big tree limbs..need what is the fire pit to dry so i can start this springs cleanup..I’d be shocked if the snow is gone by mid April even with the rain they are calling for.

I’m on slow motion again today although i haven’t stopped, cleaned cupboard under the zinc, not sure why but I’ve 4 cans of oven cleaner.

June called me at 7 to tell me that after fighting chemo in 2 areas and stating to feel better he has been in midland hospital since last Thursday..they did a stint yesterday and was going to bring Alex back to Midland hospital, he just slumped down in his bed , can’t respond to anything, in a coma. They called J7ne and said she best come, Holly who lives nearby picked her up and they sat fir several hours with him..nurse said no change and for the to go home and get some sleep.they were going back to Barrie Just after we hung up..poor June..

Pat i got new glasses just after Christmas, i don’t like them so the are in glass container and i wear my old ones. Thanks for reminder, must call and make appointment for perm and cut.

Went out after June’s call and got one tote down and placed them around, 2nd tote was on top shelf so i will wait for help..imagine me waiting..lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your friends Betty. Will send lots of prayers.
76 will be our high for the day. 47 for night Temps. Can't complain.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

So sorry to hear about your friend Alex. June must be beside herself with worry.

I'm going today to Silver Willows (SW) to set up a puzzle table. That way, if someone's waiting for something, they can spend a few minutes on the puzzle :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks for the prayers, when i first moved into this house there was so much to do and Alex and Darlene’s husbands were always willing to help out.

Just did my groceries, stopped at stained glass studio, spent my allowance lol
Told her I’d be back next Friday for Bevel green pine tree. She only ever deals in cash so i had already done my shopping and used what i had, doesn’t matter, it will be a treat to go next week..

Hardest thing for me is grocery shopping, picking articles, putting them on belt, bagging them, carrying to car then house and put them away..I soon will do happy dance when i don’t have to wear a coat, that also does me in.

Bath time

June just called, Barrie hospital did a stint on Alex yesterday morning, what they think happened is he had some mini strokes..he seemed ok then slumped over, they said he is brain dead, took all life support off and sending him back to Midland hospital in the morning so it’s closer for June.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am so sorry, this is such a draining & sad experience for the family, poor June.

ETA on new glasses 3/26, and I had BETTER LOVE those glasses at this price. My correction is so strong, it is always very expensive.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thought I was going to have a heart attack a couple of weeks ago when I got new glasses. Everything is so expensive.
Betty, we will keep them in our prayers.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My son called me today. They got death certificate for Matthew. Ultimate listed cause of death is Homicide. I'm hoping this means the man who beat him will now be recharged and just maybe if he is facing more serious charges, he might give up the woman who had him do it.
I know you are supposed to be forgiving. There are some things I have difficulty with. Matthew was a normal healthy young man before this was done to him. His mama sat for days holding his hand and telling him he was loved.

Betty - prayers for June & Alex. Such a tough time for your friends, and their families.

Verona, ON

Oh Karen my heart aches for your family. No family should be the bearer of someone's spiteful wishes. May your family find peace that Matthew is no longer suffering.

Prayers for June and Alex. Betty I guess it is the sign of our age but it sure hurts we seem to be losing so many family and friends.

The local death of the young man killed in a workplace accident h
as really rocked the village. Hopefully the family will have a memorial service for him.

Raining this morning and will continue all day. Blech!! I need sun as do the TH.

Need to get my act together and get out the lane to get my TH and grocery shopping done. I really just need milk but will get some salad fixings. I had a frozen pizza last night and it was excellent. First time I tried that brand and will certainly get it again when it is on sale. It must have been tasty as I noticed when I got up this morning a piece was missing. I haven't done middle of the night eating without my knowledge for quite awhile. At least that meant I got some deep sleep in. That doesn't happen often.

Gulp on the price of new glasses. LK and Pat I feel your pain.

The TH are looking longingly out the window but I won't walk them until I get back home. I still am fearful of the stability of the ice both on the lake and in the swamps. Plus being selfish I don't want to be wet before I go into the village. Wow !! I knew Kai was a powerful dog but he just jumped from standing still up across the bed and the chair beside it landing on all 4 paws.

Susan it makes me smile to see how busy you are keeping and doing things for the better of the people in your community.

Need to get ready so I can be at the Pet Food store as close to 9 am as possible.

Enjoy your day no matter what you decide to do. I have a new book calling my name that I think I will start this afternoon after I do the floors for the I don't know how many times this week. I did find something that helped with tracking in the sand. It doesn't stop it but it sure is a lot less. I had 4 bags of wood chips that was left over from putting down in the gardens last year so I spread them on the areas close to the door.

Betty tell me about the pine tree bevel. I have absolutely no interest in doing SG again but love to hear about new items.

Enjoy your day everyone.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Karen, I hope you and the rest of the family can find peace. Forgiveness is not my long suit, and the situation you have described is most challenging. Forgiveness for someone who has wronged or hurt me, is much easier than if they hurt my loved ones. I don't know how that woman can live with herself after what she orchestrated.

I am in charge of the lunch after a funeral today. I am so nervous. The funeral will not be in my normal building as there was a scheduling conflict. I just pray it goes OK, there is enough food. I t want this to be a successful luncheon for the sake of the family.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I would hope the woman gets her just deserts. She is the one who caused his death.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

DONE!!! We had no serious issues (had to heat water on the stove due not enough hot water!), we had enough food. Eventually we got everything we needed. It is DONE, grateful its over.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Good for you, Pat. Always nice to have a successful luncheon, and even more so when the family is grieving. Congrats on your success.

Sammi's Sweet 16 party today. My cousin Mike came from MI to help us celebrate.

What a beautiful girl, LOOK at those dimples!!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh I know Pat. Her dimples just go on forever.
Her older brother is 19. Do you realize how dangerously close I am to becoming a great, great?

Our special granddaughter age 22, applied for and landed her first job out in the world. She'll be working at a day care. Perfect for her. She is wonderful with children and very experienced as she has cared for some of the greats. She needs to be in a protected environment as she is unable to make good choices at times especially where males are involved. This will be as safe for her as possible. Once she became 18, my son and DIL had to file for guardianship as she will never be able to live independently. Prior to this she has gone to sheltered workshops so this is a big step for her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.
Betty, are you ok? Didn't see you post yesterday.
Karen, our prayers are with you and family. Praying whoever was responsible for his death pays dearly.
Pat, sorry to hear you had axdeath as well. Was it someone close? Glad the luncheon went well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, 45f overcast but sun is trying desperately to come out..

Happy Birthday Sammi, great decor to help her celebrate her 16th birthday..am sure you were thrilled to have your cousin come for the festivities. How exciting for your 22 yr. old..lots of people out there to take advantage of these special children..congrats to her, hope she is happy in her new, position.

Pat, wonderful that all went well with funeral luncheon..nice of you to take it on..bet you gave a big sigh of relief when it was over..family certainly appreciated it i am sure.. we

I have to say the temps and no heavy rain so far has made my life a treat..unless we get a heavy downfall i will do the happy dance.

June just called, they have Alex in Midland, he is brain dead but his heart is beating so it’s a waiting game but i am sure not for long, all arrangements have been done. As per his request it will just be a few family members in attendance..June loves her gardens so Pat and I will buy something for it vs sending fresh flowers.

lindaKay, i am feeling fine, just mellowing out, going from one project to another, few naps..didn’t realize i didn’t post yesterday.

This morning I quilted about 1/2 of the kitties, don’t think plain area of the block needs anything. Talked to Darlene, was her birthday yesterday and she was out, did send her birthday greeting though..then talked to my mom for awhile and to a friend, there went part of the morning.

i brought a ceiling tile with my stained glass pieces on it upstairs on coffee table, could start soldering the inside so I can add my first row of bevels, hoping Gayle has some diachronic bevels in stock for 2nd outer row. You can’t tell, but the almost black glass will show the dark purple in the center piece, the slightly lighter ones will match inner mauve… know it will look pretty when done, this is the ugly stage right Dianne?

Just watered my pots of planted seeds I have on mom’s dresser..can’t believe the size of them i just a few days.
If I don’t go back downstairs and do more sewing i might go out and gather some containers pots I had bought last year, set them in between back door and basement entry, let them unfreeze so when the sunflowers get bigger I can plant them in larger pots..first day of spring so i am thinking gardens.

Dianne, this is something like the pine tree bevels, the ones the Gayle has are a tad larger.

Yesterday Mason couldn’t make it, he was on his first sleep over since Covid..both Evan and Ezra finished their projects..

T8me to have something light for lunch seeing I am going to Sharon for supper at 4pm for roast beef dinner.

I am sure I will find something to keep me busy til 3:30pm

Glad to hear you had a relaxing to you day. Love the photo's.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can’t get much more relax than I am now..

Had early eats at Sharon’s, think we were bot( nodding off
Darn her puppies are adorable, Inuk just sleeps, when he did get up just looks at the walls poor thing.

Brought my kitty quilt to Sharon’s, decided i will put a flange border on it , here is hoping I have enough yellow batik to do the flange.

I got a small dog crate from Sharon, will call vets early morning and make appt for Ziggy nails. Let’s see if i can get him in that crate.

If things continue as is weather wise perhaps by next weekend there will be just little mounds of snow

Just turned on dishwasher so think I will make myself comfy in bed

Victoria Harbour, ON

Look who got his 1st tooth..

6 more bunnies I will have 2 dozen, should do me for Easter..

Linda is coming one day this week, she wants to do 6-8 of them, likely she won’t get that many done but I am willing to share mine.

Going to be on lookout for something easy and economical to take my time with Re Christmas carollers, am sure they will be carolling this year, i know, slap me silly but with the way I often feel want to be ready and not overdoing.

awww adorable little one with his first tooth!
oooooooooh Easter....... Just thinking about how soon it comes - April 17th!!!
I have to think fast on my feet for this one! Already have the year mapped out for Events - just not next month. Some things I will have to get passed at my first meeting as President and that's the 3rd Thurs of each month. After Easter.

Morning, a high of 43F overcast, let’s hope thesunbreaks through. Next 2 weeks are days with light snow, hail one days it does rain..that brings us into 2nd week of April.

Was awake good part of the night, kept checking to see if June sent a message.
Linda is combing this morning, wants to do bunnies, image it will take her til 2 to make them, i will hopefully finish the kitties, doesn’t it seem forever since i started it? But all that embroidery and 24 sets of paws took some time.

Ziggy crying to go out, no go, skunks and raccoons are in the area..want him to wait at least until daylight.

Hooe you have a great day

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Skunks and Racoons, NO THANK YOU!!! Last year, in a one-week period, we had 3 racoons dead on the road within a couple of miles of my house. Betty, I warned you, if you made blue bunnies & put them with those pink bunnies, you would soon have MORE bunnies!!! They are already multiplying! Stained glass is looking good!

Karen, its a shame we have to worry about the special need grandkids but we do. Our need to protect them is so great, sometimes from their own bad choices. Daycare work should provide a perfect opportunity for her. A fulfilling job in a safe environment.

Thanks for asking but no, the funeral was for someone I barely met, years ago. She & her husband had lived within our church boundaries for YEARS and then moved away. When she passed away, her family requested her services be here. As a member of our church, the funeral is held in our chapel and the luncheon provided to the family. The church members organize and provide the meal. Organizing the funeral luncheons and other service projects is something I have recently been asked to do. Since this position/calling, this is my first meal I have been responsible for. The services were held in a different church building, since there was a scheduling conflict with our building. Needing to provide this at a DIFFERENT building/kitchen etc was especially stressful!

This is a service that I was SO grateful for when Ben passed away, I am grateful for the opportunity to assist someone else. Much more than the huge financial benefit of having our chapel (rather than paying for funeral home facilities) and meal provided, the relief of knowing it was ONE thing that I did not have to plan or even think about.

Marie and I are headed to our cousin Bev's again today to help with getting her packed and ready to move. Marie & I have a lot planned for this week. We have an all-day serger class scheduled for Friday and a quilt show Sat. I also have more dental work scheduled.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Doesn't seem he is old enough yet to get his teeth. They grow too fast.
Love those bunnies.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I didn’t think he was either, he was teething nw for about a month.

Pat, how do you sleep, your schedule is so full. Enjoy your class..

Yes the pink and blue bunnies sure worked at it to multiply. Linda got here at 8 and left at 2:30..i did 10 bunnies for her, she cut then out and cut threads from the pieces, was a nice quiet day.

June just called, Alex passed away!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Alex. Sending our condolences and prayers.

Glad the two of you got the bunnies done.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My condolences to the family, so hard to lose a loved one.

Betty, I love sewing with friends, as long as it's not a "class" and I'm stressed about completing in time! Sitting with a friend making bunnies sounds like fun!

i try to stop doing stuff by 11 pm and then read for an hour, bed by midnight, up between 5 and 7 AM. Sometimes i am only up an hour or so and go back to sleep in my recliner cuddled with Stanley for an hour. Every few months I have a day when I sleep all day, up an hour or two, go to bed early and sleep thru the night, guess its my catch up time.

Guess I need to read up about putting a hanging sleeve on the quilts that will be displayed. I'll get that done tonight so that I can stopping worry about it and be ready..

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is not a lot of sleep Pat, don’t know how you go with so little sleep, I would be a walking zombie. Alex is being cremated but a 1/2 hr viewing first this morning at 11 for family so not a wonder i could concentrate

Poor Pat she was working on the barn quilt blocks and I’d ramble on.

Most of what i do now i put the hanging sleeve just incase it will be hung.

Lordy, Pat came overworked the morning,I’m a tapper, was so wound up, talk talk talk then could find anything and what i did find just shows me i have far too many hobbies.

June is not really interested in sewing so Pat said she had some rocks she would love to paint so we will finish what we are working on and do some decorative painting. Of course that led me to finding my books on painting rocks. Also found metal triangular wind chimes, there is 4 so i will share.

Also went through my containers and found fusing glass… have 3 leather necklaces for use in a hanging fused bead and earrings they could do for their mom..i haven’t used that kiln in forever so must test it out first.

That has been my day, now off for perm and hair cut. I will drive down to Foodland afterwards and pick up a ready hot meal.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Betty, I generally get at least 7 hours, between midnight & 7 & then sometimes nap. I allow myself to sleep all I can. I try to limit naps as it interferes with the quality of nighttime sleep.

I've really never done any painting etc walls and furniture! No recreational painting although I have bought everything for acrylic pour, I have not done it yet. Maybe this summer when I can do it outside. The place I had decided to use is not available anymore. (The other patio, the one the family & dogs use).

Victoria Harbour, ON

1/2 furniture in my house Pat I painted and did trumpet l’oeil, kind of too country for most, suits me though.

Joyce (Joycet) told me the rock I painted for her that look like a deer laying down is still looking great in her gardens.

Lordy, not sure why i wanted a perm, i always had hair growing on my sides longer than in any other area so asked her to give me a different cut, she used razor and thinned hair and cut with same, so short but you know it will grow..

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Well inquired minds & eyes want to SEE new hairdo!!!

Happy Birthday Betty!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not my birthday Pat..sister Sharon is on April Fools and and about 20 of us going to Mandarin Chinese buffet..with the way I am gabbing might have said it was my birthday..big sigh

Is it bedtime yet?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well....we made a slight change. This is the one we really wanted but were trying to save money. However after three tries the one we had still smelled and we just didn't think it would ever get better. So we decided to go with our heart.
