Having to make the tough decision to put a beloved pet down is heart breaking and sometimes the best way we can show them our love. Same with rehoming a pet. I miss Jalouse, our cat, so much. But she made life unsafe for herself and Ben. My youngest is betting I will have a pet within the year.
Living where I do, the garbage is only at the end of cement drive way, SHORT distance. We used to live on an acre, and have to get the cans up the hill to the road. I try to remind myself of that when I get crabby because I forget to do it the night before.
Still cleaning and sorting, The top of my dresser is now clear, I don't think I have seen that in 3 years. I finally cleared out and sorted the final drawer in Ben's dresser. It had every imaginable thing possible in there! spare parts for prosthetic, lotions & potions, from fungal treatment to "new skin" ,hydrocortisone, .flashlight , reading light, spare charger cords, deodorant and his cologne, CBD and so much more. Now to find new home, either with friends and family, donations.
Or things I will keep like his cologne. The ONLY one he EVER wore. It was discontinued years ago and I bought all I could find online when I found a source. .
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Come sit a spell..newcomers always welcome..
Betty - couldn't you use a dolly to put the garbage bag on, so you can wheel it?
Last night we went ice skating - haven't been yet, this season. OH, it was funny haha
I used a chair to push in front. Not because I needed one for anything other than what a kid does - stability. Been over a year since I was on the ice - holy cow bob says we need to go every night. They close down the ice on March21, so we have some time.
Piano lessons are going ok - next one is Thurs @ 11 am - every Thurs in fact, just before bowling. haha Rhoda says in a couple of weeks she'll have me working the pedals! hmmm

Piano lessons at 1:00 am?
Pat, long process cleaning out ones belongings, everything is so sentimental. Omg years after Roger died I was grocery shopping and kept following this man around, getting closer and closer, enough that his wife kept giving me the look, finally went up to her and explained..he ended up giving me the biggest hug..are you going to work tomorrow? Hoping not!
Smiling LIndaKay, I’d not be taking too much in at that time of morning.
Just by accident I ran into SHARON and her son Brian 8n Home Depot..they were returning a beautiful cupboard and counter top, when opened, the top was smashed, for 1,000 k she thought they might give her trouble returning but no, the next 2 boxes they opened were same..anyway bought tub, Sharon was standing there when the manager said to teller, give her $25 off, Sharon virtually got mad, said in the last 2 months she spent $15,000 and didn’t get a penny off...I felt bad for the lady, here she 2as being nice and I was excited about her generosity and told Sharon..I quickly walked out.
Now that he and SHARON delivered the tub and I have the tub surround he will be able to schedule me 8n..Brian thinks I should tile it vs the acrylic surround..not sure I want to do that..not a new home, just upgrading
Sunny day here but cold and windy. The wind off of the lake is so strong it is making the tarps I have over the wood piles make a terrible noise. The TH are not too keen about going out in their yard.
Pat, Warren passed in 2012 ..... I still have a bottle of English Leather in his cupboard in the bathroom. I have been known to open and smell it. I still have some of his clothes in the walk in closet. I have given away and donated a lot of his clothes but he was a clothes horse. Someone in downtown Kingston was walking around wearing an Eddie Bauer winter coat.
Exciting to do the renovations Betty. I think this is the first summer in 4 years I am not having anything done to the house. I need a new dock but not sure if I will do that this year. The TH won't go in the lake from the dock. There is a big flat rock where we had our first dock and I can walk in with them. They like that.
Something and I am thinking it must be a fisher is killing off the muskrats. They eat everything but the heads. The TH take great delight in running around with the heads in their mouths. I found a fallen limb that is up too high for the TH to reach and I place all the heads there.
Chaos is tossing their food bowls around so I had better get them fed.
Stay safe and well.

Weather watch here Dianne, not really doing anything but it’s early evening.
Lordy, those fishers are vicious.i worry when Ziggy is out..going on 30 years..will be 5his New Year’s Day, only thing I have is Rogers wallet and his boat that nobody seems to have time to use.
Dr’s office said he would be here between 4:40-8:30, here I wait..be glad to see if that batch of needles help.
Greg Has to leave at 2am and will meet Jeff at airport, they are looking forward to their snowmobile adventure in Newfoundland..
Sure hope the shots give you some relief.
Morning all, it’s a winter white day out there..we did get about 3” of snow, with the girls coming to sew today I should be out shovelling but doc said not to do much with it over next few days so hoping they are wearing their boots.
Dr. Came about 7:30pm, he still had one more client to see then had to drive home, about 80 miles away in that blowing and snowing! I asked why we were not attracting doctors..he said there are so many openings for doctors that they have choices galore and guess Georgian bay is not one of them.
There was Kuching going on, thankfully he had lanacane with him to freeze..he said no repetitive use for a few days, likely 2-3 days before I see improvement if in fact I do..waiting for pain clinic appointment to call with date..so let us see what happens.
Need to fold laundry, tidy craft room a tad as the thursday sewers will be here..
Best I not forget my getting a perm this afternoon, thank goodness, even curling iron won’t curl.
My boys plane should be landing about now..nice they have together time snowmobiling on lands nobody has ever travelled but I’ll have a week of worry.
Listen to your Dr Betty. Give the shots time to work.
Betty, is there no one you can hire for the shoveling? You don't want to sabotage the relief you might have gotten from the shots! Shoveling is NOT in your best interest!
Ben was the opposite of a clothes horse. He was very hard on clothes and it was all I could do to keep him from ruining his church clothes! He just didn't care about clothes, he would have looked homeless if I had not insisted he but on decent clothes and tuck in his shirts.
Yes Betty, do get someone to do the shoveling. Last thing you need to be doing.
My hubby is far from being a clothes horse too. I usually have to send him to change if we are going to store or anywhere else. I'm the one who has to throw worn torn away too or he just keeps on wearing them.
Listening but there are no kids near me, will do steps, this aft a few feet then the rest later or tomorrow, going to strap my left arm to body in that harness Paul got me and use left only..dr says I have to also Lear how to relax my shoulders..next I’ll have a table cit, legs shorter by 4” so I’m sewing with lowered shoulders, working down vs up
Roger loved his clothes..before he passed I had been in Texas for several weeks, total trip a month with my friend Barb, Roger and her husband stayed home to snowmobile, he loved the stretchy jean and dress pants, I bought him a new wardrobe, threw all old clothes in the dump then tragedy hit..I gave all his clothes that I had no sentimental value to his brothers..only thing was a deep maroon jacket he had tailor made, he took 28 pants and 54” across Che’s, his brother was close to same size so he got suit jacket, about six months later we were at a wedding, I saw him there, looking much like Roger and started to cry..he never wore that jacket again. When I was at his place a few weeks ago he took out a pair of stretch blue jeans he had never worn and said he kept them for his brother to be close by. I told him he better start wearing them and I wouldn’t shed tears if I saw them in them
Girls left, all know what supplies they need for their project next week, i am on the couch looking at the sun coming in..
Betty contact the Guidance Counsellor at the nearest high school. He/she can recommend some to shovel ...... and usually they need the money. Even if the HS isn't in Victoria Harbour there are probably students who live there.
Lol, don't over look the middle school as a source either. If the guidance counselor can't come up with any ideas, ask to speak to the football, wrestling or basketball coaches. Do NOT overlook the girls! Better money than babysitting!
At middle school level, frequently the girls are stronger than the boys. More than once my brothers were hired for a job that I ended up doing instead because they ended up with a different commitment (like when Boy Scout camp convinced them to work as counselor after they had already agreed to take full care of a home's yard that was up for sale.
Could you advertise online, or whatever you have locally, that you are looking for help? Is there a local youth church group that would like to take that maintenance on to fund some project or trip?
Betty, you bought a snow blower, it is time to get out and use it. That has to be easier on your arm.
Morning all, it’s 16F, sun was trying to come out but seems overcast right now.
Ziggy is looking at me, goes to door, comes back so think he wants out for awhile...am sure he is saying spring is coming.
Thanks for recommendations and yes LIndakay, don’t know if that would be easier but should read the manual as March can either be spring like or stormy.
Got my perm last night then was in bed shortly after, thInk the trapezius muscle wasn’t happy getting all those needles so today I’ll take it easy..that being said I’ve done my wash, made a st, patty’s Gnome, will give it to girls in office for their tree change a few things on mine which I will do later...$$ store had little blackpot but no gold in them so bought package of gold dollars and glued them on top of the pit, looks cute..I’m only doing these things to fill 8n my days lol anxious for spring as I’m sure all of you are.
Pat, you are back at work, hope coworkers are kind to you as I know you are fighting back your emotions even though you are trying to keep your feelings in tack..
Need groceries, snow forecaster for tomorrow so best I get all my running around done today so I can make it a Jammy weekend.
My boys arrive at newfoundland and told to get their beer together as they had a 4 hour to their home for the week. Jeff said he had never seen so much snow, fluffy as can be and long wide sled to drive..Greg goes every year and he told them about it but guess words just don’t describe it..guess with time difference they’ve had breakfast and off to their adventures of the day..
I wonder why this one is alone...
Betty, LOL... I do hope you meant GEAR, not beer!
Pat excellent suggestions about the middle schools being a source for help.. In the area I live in everyone is on the bus unless they have their own wheels. We also suffer from the teen reaction "You need me to do THAT" and "Why can't I have my money before I start?" Yep all of us seniors fell off the turnip truck kids !!
Really cold out there this morning. Diesel didn't even want to get off the bed. Chaos mustered on and helped me clean out the ashes and get wood inside. Diesel did decide to join us for a very short walk. The wind is bitter off the lake.
Betty I saw a commercial on TV with a gal from Victoria Harbour who won over $100,000 on 649 or Lotto Max. I seem to remember you telling us about her.
Furnace guy is coming this afternoon to do the yearly check up. They must be starving for business as I usually have it done in the Spring. Never once in over 30 years have they called me. Part of the business was bought out by someone and maybe he is starting to get things in order.
Glad to read Susan you are really busy.Someone just up the lake has shoveled off and maintains quite a large area to skate. Everyone is welcome.
Hi ya Liz. Thinking about you. The TH send lots of hugs and kisses. Don't worry, their mouth smells sweet. I brush their teeth every night. That's a sight to be behold.
Stay safe and warm everyone
I've been having problems with my left knee since a slip last fall. It felt like it was getting better for a while, but shows in January left me limping and in a lot of pain. I finally broke down and went to the doctor. She ordered an MRI, and sent me to a knee specialist. He seems more focused on the arthritis than the injury. I had the arthritis before, and a couple of aspirin would make any pain pretty much go away. I got a cortisone shot in the knee joint, and that has made a huge difference, and he's talking about injecting a gel into the joint. He needs approval from my insurance first, and I'm going to have a lot more questions before I go through with that. He's talking knee replacement somewhere down the road. But, I can't get a straight answer on why my entire problem, in his eyes, is the arthritis, when it wasn't a problem before my slip!
Yesterday was spent in a photo studio, one of my girls was recruited for a cars.com ad that will be coming out on Instagram late in March. It was really interesting, she was really patient with everyone. Now, I've got to learn about instagram so I can see the ad when it's released!
Great photos Deb.
Well as someone who has gone through 8 or maybe it is 9 right knee surgeries let me weigh in. If the doc is really zoning in on arthritis which I am riddled with you need to start taking some kind of supplement. I used to take Glucosamine/Chondroitin but after some advice from a very special person on DG I switched to Turmeric and it has made a BIG difference. I had a hemi on my right knee in the early 1990's and wish I never had it done. The Ortho said on hindsight it should have been the whole knee replacement. So if the pain gets too much ask for something stronger. There is no shame in asking for that.
My Jury duty was cancelled. Woo Hoo no daily trips into Kingston for me.
Stay safe and warm.

Thanks, Dianne! I started taking turmeric a few weeks ago, and I have noticed a difference. I was hoping another arthroscopic surgery, like he did 4 years ago for a meniscal tear might take care of my pain, and put me back to where I was before the injury, but, it doesn't sound like that's an option.
Omg Debbie she sure is photogenic, not all dogs would sit, so patiently..why only on instagram ? No idea about it either..my nieces talk about tic toc, had me instal it but I’m going to uninstall..have no idea what it’s all about, waste of iPad memory!
We are so in the hands of, others w.ho we hope have the knowledge to lead us down the proper health, route..I was, told several years ago I needed hip replacement, opted to not..seems from time to time the sciatic nerve acting up, had the lift chair put in so I’d be ready but no need for it other than a few bad days...
I think all those needles I got in shoulder Wednesday was cortisone of sorts..between the cbd/thc oils, a few Tylenol 3 and the shots my shoulder has been bearable today!
Dianne, she lives a few streets from me, exciting for the community to see there are winners..do you buy lottery tickets..rarely do but guess I should. Rita believes turmeric as well..she is always at health food store for different concoctions..odd they come for service at this time of year??
Cold but nice and bright, not cold enough to stop the melting, feels like a real spring day..snow expected tomorrow though...did my groceries, bought iron oats for a few projects and feel like I’m ready for bed, tad early right??
Thought I might knit a bit more on my throw but Ziggy finds it a comfy place, wondering what else I can do that I can do sitting on the couch...
Beautiful dog Deb.
Betty, do you have photos of your gnomes?
Well I only, did, the St Patrick’s,one for nieces will do myself one tomorrow..now I didn’t have proper clear glue or beard so will look through scraps tomorrow, bough iron oats today
Thought I took one but that is when I saw the deer and off to take its photo..will take one tomorrow..what I also,did,wr9ng,was bought 2 socks almost same colour
oh yes - piano lessons at 11am, not 1am hahaha
I'm finding myself to be very grumpy lately - maybe it's everything that I'm taking on, but also stuff that I'm doing that is re-done by someone else because they've changed their minds about what they want. Why bother telling me? I'm starting to adopt a "will this matter in 5 years" attitude. Also, do I really want to stretch & stress myself out when I'm supposed to have some enjoyment in life??!?! I've been doing alterations, knitting for others, and generally feeling under-appreciated. Ah well, life goes on.
Our minister (student) is feeling stressed & really over-sensitive so she turns to me to make her feel better. It's tough to be loyal to my church & also wanting to support her. I'm caught in the middle & don't much like it. Instead of 3 years, they're not renewing her contract so she's done after 1 year. To be honest, I think she's being too defensive & oversensitive - takes everything said to her as a criticism.
Again........ life goes on.

Morning all, snow forecast changed to cloud and occasional sunshine, slept in til 7:30 , feel like half the day is gone..
Susan, you have bouts of where you totally have no:time for yourself and with so many personalities out there it’s best you give up some of your work overload that does truly like you said makes a difference in 5 years time..do things for yourself and Bob. Not good this minister using you as a soundboard, shouldn’t it be the other way around? I have a niece who went right through to be a Minister, she is the most un-compassionate person I’ve ever met...wrong calling for her..maybe that is the case for your minister.
Have tentative plan tomorrow to drive to get my oils, 3 hrs one way, will not go unless I’ve someone to come share the drive so that leaves me with today, sleeping in didn't help... Dianne the reserve is Heathneath I think, 1/2 way or better towards you.
jar task to do is wash all the basement floors, on my want list is to at least put that quilt St Paddy’s on the frame if I can find batting. Sharon had an old sheet she has been working on but she is sick and won’t be here for awhile, thInk I’ll take it off and do my quilt, her machine should be arriving shortly or when I finish can put it back on.
Would also like to finish the bench pillow and maybe a gnome..now you know I’ll not get all that done, feels mighty comfy on the couch..need goals though don’t we.
Susan, I agree with Betty. Do things for yourself to make you happy.
Betty, what kind of oils do you have to drive 3 hours for?
LIndakay, this one I used up from the left over socks I had from the one I made for my niece, don’t like the fur I have left in my stash, so will give him a beard cut later, just swept up so not going to do it now and have hair all over.
This is ideal for fibromyalgia pain, called a few places around here but none have same ingredients and I don’t want to start playing with this stuff so I’d rather make the trip as I’ll be out next week from the tester Greg brought me.
Know stopping for lunch might be a bad idea..while I worked putting the throw on the frame the embroidery machine did a verse for the bench pillow, might be too big but I will modify the patter to make it fit
Thought I might make a ruby applesauce cake and figure out what is for supper then I can play again
Just lost my post. Grrr.
Betty have you Googled the reserves and the oils by name ? It might save you the long drive. A shipping charge would sure make up for a 6 hour drive. I think you mean Roseneath..... it is north of Coburg.
Indian reserves don’t mail out, in fact this particular brand only does cash...yes Dianne that is it, suzanne and Linda coming with me, we will make a days of it, have breakfast out.,suppose to be a sunny day!
Weather Liars say sunny day tomorrow here too.
I feel very guilty... - the TH are looking at me with these woeful eyes. We only had a small walk today. My left knee is really acting up - swollen almost twice its size and it hurts like he**. They will have to be content with their rather large I might add yard.I'll put my snowshoes on right when we get up in the morning and we'll at least get a couple of miles in.I'll make sure I take my trekking poles with me.
Stay safe, warm and well
Sorry a DG hiccup. Double post.

Best I go check weather network to see if there is any changes both here and my destination..
Did you twist it somehow without noticing Dianne?
Brrr you can tell it’s the onset of evening, can feel temps:drop, soon time for a bath to warm me up..Ziggy was out a few times this morning when sun was shinning, wants to lay on my knitting again, don’t know when i’ll Be able to finish last 2 skeins when he takes, over the blanket.
Have scallop potatoes and ham for supper, made a loaf and a half of applesauce cake so plenty of desert..
Betty - re: ministers - I was told once that Psychiatrists have their own to unload to, and ministers go to other ministers. So, yeah she shouldn't be putting me in this position. I know I have a sympathetic ear, but don't have the calling to be a minister. She won't talk to the minister training her as she is feeling defensive. Our student minister is feeling "picked on". Not so, but I can't change her feelings and won't try to.
betty I lost rubys applesauce cake can you please repost it
I will send it in the morning, already crawled into bed lol
Are you keeping yourself busy? What is the temps in your neck of the woods.
Susan glad you realize it’s time to back off Susan before it brings you down..
Pat,how are you doing today?
Deb, is your star walking around the house like he is a tv star?
