Yes I am LIndakay, just got back from shopping..instead of taking my personal supplies,re shampoo, toothbrush, comb etc etc I decided to go buy new then I’ll leave them in a carry bag when I get back so I can have them ready for next outing.in the morning I’ll call pharmacy to get meds in order then think other than $$$ I’m ready and that is an easy thing as I only keep a few hundred US and use my c,c,’s then transfer funds when I get back..I’ve a habit of setting my wallet/purse all over the place so easy to lose so c.c.’s are easy and I have a waist purse to hold all I need.

Glad you still meet, having the companionship of those who enjoy the love of your sewing is wonderful.

Deb, when Sharon tells me what it cost her re shows I’m in awe so can see that you would have that time pick and choose which you will go to.quite a distance for you to travel to Virginia beach, is there someone that would travel with you and help share costs?

Keep thinking of different things to buy re food for mom, easy cookings as she hates to cook so have almost all now except Effie’s and fruit.

I’m cooking corn, my downfall, could eat it every day, not our corn yet but smells good and I also bought berries from local farmer, mouth watering here.

Must find energy to go get june’s Panel ready for the morning, it’s either go get it done tonight or get up extra early and I’m already getting up at 5 so best I get it done tonight..I make it sound a lot of work but an hour would do it..

Off to move the sprinkler

What is Effies?

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My Sister just lives less than 30 minutes from me. We also get together briefly sometimes when she comes to town & meets me at work.

I ordered up 4 wide backings and they just came. Of course the one I like the most was twice as expensive... darn it!! I had to cancel our longarm reservation to take son to hernia surgery. We just got back, he's sleeping.

Ladies, have fun & enjoy all your planned trips, garden projects and the countless other things we all are involved in!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying your son recovery quickly.
Too bad you had to cancel your long arm session.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Dang....such a loud close thunder it shook the house.
I'm working on making memory pillows from shirts for my DDIL's mom. She lost her dad a few months ago.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - whatever are you talking about - of Course I'm overdoing 🤣 Took a page from YOUR book, doncha know??!?!
I was out weeding & planting, trimming grass around plants in the yard, watering the veggie garden, etc. It's warm out, but I was taking frequent rests. A neighbour gave me some irises to plant on the east side of our place - lots of gravel with a little bit of soil 😉 Should do fine though - irises will grow anywhere & thrive.
Looking forward to Susan arriving on the 3rd, then the Park's 2nd Annual BBQ on the 10th, hosted at our place. Bob changed out the old main outside door frame, now he's putting the new siding up while the weather's nice. We want our place looking nice for the BBQ, of course.
I'm actually doing what I can - but now it's time to go have my injections & pill (Warfarin, both). And I'm hungry - time for dinner, too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Should have read LIndakay ‘veggies’ lol

Wow, he did do a number on it, can he do repairs to it now that he has seen what is under the vines..don’t you love it when you get good value for $$$ spent on workers..I was so impressed with Devon, sorry that he will not be back.

Those pillows Karen are wonderful..is your embroidery machine working? There is such a nice program for this shirts for next t8me..they will be so loved.

Suzanne dropped in for a few hours, was sitting here in my nighty...had some good news..if NOTHING happens in the next 3 days, praying it doesn’t, we will be the 4 of us going on our trip..

Dish of berries then off to bed

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Machine works. I'm making small pieces with a poem on. They will attach them as not known who will get which ones. Some will say Papa and some Dad.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

All is good in Las Vegas. Hot but will be cooling down because rain may move into our area. My mow and blow guys were here today and I am not happy with the job they did. I will have to think about how I am going to approach them.

My sister is here for 2 more weeks. We are having a great visit. Not doing much but that is what we both want.

Betty you are blessed to have so many girl pals to go on holiday with. And you all have such great times. It has been a very long day and I am way behind. I wanted to make sure and say hello to all of you. I will have more time tomorrow to chat. Hugs, Sharon (My friend, the owl in the greenbelt.)

Those are very cool Karen. A friend makes teddy bears from Loved ones shirts as comfort gift. I know it sounds terrible to some people, that I would think of such a thing while my husband is alive, but I will likely make small throw quilts out of Ben's dress shirts when the time comes. He has a closet full of button up shirts he has rarely worn in the last few years. Ben's shirts are all in stripes of different colors, my favorite the teal and dark gray, HIS favorite: red, black, gray & white. I've seen some wonderful "chemist" print fabric that would be a wonderful companion print.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW, fabulous picture of the owl!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I have GOT to show my two friends that love owls this picture - it is SO cool!

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Karen, those pillows are very unique. I've not seen anything like them done before. I must confess I don't sew. Used to make things but haven't touched my sewing machine in years. However..I just received some new dressmaking shears from Amazon. My old Henkels broke. I found Kai scissors..they have rave reviews. My mother was a very good seamstress. She made most of her clothes. My sister can sew. I guess she got the talent from Mum.
Betty, Not sure exactly how Mike will finish the top of gazebo. He said he would think about it and look for ideas. I would be ok with just a type of pergola roof..flat so that when the vines grow back I can reach them to trim them so they don't get out of control.
Susan..you have a lot to look forward to.
Pat..you are lucky to have your sis so close to you. Mine is at least a 3 hours drive away. That's if the traffic isn't bad on the 401.

Hi Linda Kay. I thought that Effies meant veggies,,sometimes the computers auto fill has a mind of its own.
Have a good day everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen those pillows are beautiful.

Sharon, I am glad you got that photo of the owl. He is so pretty.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thank you Linda, they are surprisingly quick and easy to make.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LOL... well son #2 is with me, #1 is 4.5 hours away, #3 is in China and #4, just down the road from me, couple of miles.

Another stressful day, caregiver messaged me that he forgot to tell me that HIS MD appt had changed and he would not be with Ben until AFTER his appt. I have not asked Ben when Andrew got here. I got a message from Andrew after 2 PM asking about one of the wrap supplies which leads me to believe that he did not get here until at least 1 PM. Ben said he transferred from wheelchair to couch to "do some repair" on the wheelchair and couldn't get up and had to call paramedics.... Just another day in paradise. If I don't end up with a bleeding ulcer it will be a miracle.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Pat. Sounds like you need a different care giver.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, a sunshine day in my neighbourhood ,trying to figure out how to fill the day without causing myself pain..

Few call to make re venues where they haven’t sent me confirmation yet $$ out of my account.

Sharon are they the same guys who have been doing your maintenance all along? What have you and your sister been doing to entertain yourselves? Is she able to help you in the gardens?

Pat, are these gmt employees that you are getting, is it because they are underpaid so no one dependable apply for the positions? Must be so frustrating...could Ben go to a facility for a few weeks to give you time the recoup your energy?

Karen, recipients will cherish them, a wonderful keepsake..so what have you been making with your embroidery machine? I enjoyed doing the hockey jersey pillows, they too were keepsakes.

Not sure but something is frightening Ziggy, he looks around as though he is thinking nope not going out there so back in he comes..

My day to water so have the sprinkler on..might start bringing all the flowerpots, hanging baskets to back deck for easy watering for mom, few are much too heavy so they will have to fend for themselves.

Need to have breakfast, tummy hungry

Pose of the day

Guess where Ziggy has been cleaning LOL... If Ziggy is frightened, he probably has good reason to be and just as well that he stays in. Do you have any big predators in your region??
The workers are PAID for by the government but we do the choosing. Andrew actually did make it on time per Ben. Andrew got his appointment and the clinic had rescheduled... very frustrating for him I'm sure. Andrew has been a good worker and very positive attitude so not waiting to replace him!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat, maybe tell Andrew you don't want to have to replace him but you do need to rely on him to be there when he is supposed to. This will let him know you can if necessary.

Betty, I haven't embroidered as yet. I plan on making labels for the memory pillows. I have several projects lined up and trying to keep to each task. I decided to set the reading pillows aside and make for Christmas gifts. Surprisingly the pre quilted has been hard to find to I'm slowly gathering it as I find it.

Water in the basement again.. called the company as it is lifetime guaranteed, They will be here next week. It's been really rainy so not surprised they are busy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear about the water in basement, been there, mega $$ to fix..good luck.
I buy pre quilted at Joann’s, you could always order.

These are some pretty labels Karen..

Susan, doesn’t sound like they have all your health issues addressed..you are full steam ahead again, please spend mega time sitting and overseeing lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh Pat - I hope you get some "me" time that isn't fraught with worry about what's happening when you're not there. Take a breath now and then and ask yourself if you can Really do anything from the distance you're at, and if you're sure that there are problems. It sounds like Andrew is a good & solid bet for you as a caregiver. I'm happy some things are going right for you.
Betty - like you, I only know of one speed - full steam ahead lol I've spoken to both the Dr that booked me into the hospital as well as my GP and they've determined that my INR is doing well, and that I just have take 1 Warfarin pill per day, at suppertime. I'll get my bloodwork done tomorrow, then see my GP on Friday. It's all good :)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..sunshine day day here, sipping coffee and wondering what I need to get done first so mellowing out for a bit.

Does sound like you are are getting great care Susan..takes time to get back to good health, meds and rest should doit

Mom got here yesterday afternoon, perhaps she mixed her days.. likely she will go to aunt Muriel’s for a visit and maybe her brother dons while I get lol my ducks in a row.

Sharons daughter Nikki got her pass for November from Americans got talent..she is excited.

Oh I love watching AGT. I'll have to keep an eye out for Nikki.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are feeling better Susan.
Betty, that is awesome news about her daughter. Congratulations.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks re Nikki,

Just going to town to get meds etc as mom is not feeling very well, to make matters worse her brothers dog jumped at her and got her in the eyes, big cut, black eye, black arm, look so pitiful. Likely pick up some soups and puddings etc.

Grrrr is it almost tomorrow, suzanne’s Hip is gone, walking with a cane, in mega pain, Linda just send me a photo, her hand was paining, soon after big lumps...big sigh

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no. Sorry to hear about everyone In pain. Praying they will be ok for the trip.

Victoria Harbour, ON

They have til 1:00 tomorrow to get well...big sigh

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

It seems like every time I have even the smallest of plans, some hiccup in the form of emergency or health issues with Ben, sons etc come up and jeopardize it. Gotten so I rarely plan anything -

So sorry to hear about your Mom's too close of an encounter with brother's dog. Well behaved animals are a joy.... the others... not so much.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

OOpps.. meant to say congratulations on the entry in AGT !

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Congrats to Nikki. Is she a singer?
What a shame about your Mom getting hurt..and your friends not feeling well. I hope they will all be ok to join you on your trip.

Morning all,
Sunshine day in my neighbourhood..1:00 is the kickoff time, always a chance someone won’t go lol

Suzanne can barely walk, Linda has a walker, hope it fits in with all our luggage ..
my shoulder just carrying bags to car is paining, likely once we are in the vehicle we will forget all about our woes.

Must be so frustrating Pat..ben’s kids should take turns giving you a much needed break.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying you are on the road Betty. Have a safe trip.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Safe travels and have tons of fun.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

SAFE trip, hope all of you hobbled out to the car and are well started on your adventure.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - hope you're happily on your way! Safe travels :)

Yes, I'm getting great care - the Dr who booked me into the hospital called to see if my GP has been in touch (yes) and today the pharmacy called to see how I'm doing on my meds & has the Dr ordered the INR & when was my last one?!?1
This would Never happen in the Big City. I love small towns & small town hospitals

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I agree Susan. When my mother was on Warfarin, she got a blood draw in the morning and then got the results right after lunch, like clockwork. When the MD's office could not reach my parents at home, they CALLED ME AT WORK!!! It was out of their normal pattern to not be home at that hour and the doctor's office wanted me to check on them. THAT's what having a "Family Doctor" is all about!! Dr. Cain is our PCP for my siblings and was my parents as well. I BEGGED them to accept my husband when we moved back into town and they gracious did.

Over the years, the hospital has moved from your PCP seeing you while you are in the hospital, to the "hospitalist". An MD that serves ONLY the hospital patients and it changes by shift and day of the week. I HATE it! I don't want to trust some doctor I do not have a relationship with to be making recommendations and decisions about my healthcare. It has got to be a blessing to Dr Cain, he is no longer making rounds before & after his office hours, sometimes his lunch, but I TRUST him!!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - my Dr is in a Clinic right next to the hospital, and all the Drs there go to the hospital to cover Emergency. Sometimes I will get my Dr or another one from the Clinic. Oftentimes I will get my own Dr. They TALK to one another, and I feel very cared for. I'm very thankful for that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So hard to get good doctors.

Betty, you must be having fun with the girls. Pop in to say hello when you can.
