yep. there is a dresser near work, I have been too lazy to get it and besides, it would only to be to donate when I was done. It's missing one or more drawers but I have seen some great revamps to turn missing draw into open shelf so that is NOT a deterrent.

When you get it for "free" it's not as hard to turn a profit! LOL

So looking for a table like this..

Pat, lazy younare not..

Got under the deck done, should have taken 2 men, not one old lady..that is ok, had to be done and now it’s behind me, no won’t complain, my fault for taking on suck a project..how I would love to go to town in search of a few things at nurseries but would need someone to carry me lol

Tis a sunshine day though

Maybe a hot bath, pain meds, freeze spray, Dr. Ho and maybe I can take a run into town..😏

Betty, it wouldn't take you long to build a table like that. Do you have flea markets near you? Maybe you could find one there.

Lyndonville, NY

I think Betty and I need to go to markets or yard sales. I need a kitchen table with chairs.
Is on my list and watching.

Wet and chilly here.

Mushrooms galore

Greg just left to pick up something I need for self propelled lawnmower. I’m not strong enough to start it, Greg started it first shot..

don’t know where the shoot lock went, maybe I lost it when I sent it out for servicing anyway Greg’s gone in search of one. He thinks likely the trimming can be done with battery operated weeder and I shouldn’t need self propelled mower,we will see!

We worked fixing column bubblers, I couldn’t stand had to kneel, thinks it’s time I call it a day..Didn’t think of it at the time but I should I had Greg pick me up something for supper so I wouldn’t have to cook anything, regardless I’m not cooking this is what kind of butter and jam will do me just fine!

Yes likely I can make one, washoping not to though lol

Greg wanted to be here early this morning but Melanie’s dad had a stroke, men,he had blurred vision for a few days and this morning couldn’t even lift his head, didn’t know his address or name..Greg spent morning at hospital, told him what is left on my list I can do.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for Melanie's Dad.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Guess you all are stuck with me for another year. I just renewed with DG.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I’d usage been so,distraught had you left us LIndakay...

In bed..lyetsnsee what drugs do

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Glad you stayed LindaK, I think I renew in a month, don't remember.

I left Ben in bed until he woke up, almost 11.00. he of course planned on going to church but I could see last night THAT was not going to happen. Been a painful weekend for him. He even passed up going to look at an El Camino that he wanted to see. He can't get in the J10 pickup anymore so he thinks an El Camino will do.

I added elastic suspender-like attachments to six new pair of shorts for Ben. I've been doing some doll sewing, a few minutes outside work, then back inside. It's been nice to flit from project to project.

I've made some of the cutest little lace "shrugs" for the dolls. I'd love to find more heavy lace to make more. I recycled a heavy open lace blouse my DDIL gave me. It had some stains so it got the "doll treatment". It's bolero shaped and I can do the whole thing on the serger and then not have to even refinish the edges. I timed it, after cutting them out, I got 3 done in 13 minutes! I have a beautiful piece of 3-D style black rose fabric I have been eying... wondering if it would make up as nice. Probably would have to really at least turn all edges once after serger.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Would love to see the lace pat.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow. I'll set up a table and get some pics of this years doll clothes and the "bald" doll with the wig we have for her and other accessories. She will be donated for the cancer fund raiser.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes Pat, pics please, I might have something in my stash you can use.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, went back twice to see what weather will be, nothing about rain today, only rain tomorrow and Wednesday, then why is it spitting out ?

Girls come this morning then I will go to town and pick up a few planters as they are getting poor pickings and I’ll have nothing if I wait much longer.

I’m with LIndakay and Karen, with pictures we can see what it’s in our stashes..your new designs sound precious..once girls leave I’ll go look and see for anything that is different.

Got a few things done this morning and now it’s breafast time..

Everyone must be taking a sabbatical, think I’ll join you all...
Bath time

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

DDS appointment, meeting with contractor for bid for enclosed back patio, then sewing! I have not cracked a book once today, sprayed chemicals on weeds... just flitted from one job to another.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I drove to San Antonio today, I have appointment tomorrow to see my heart Dr. My meds are working too good, slowing down my heart rate to 48, and dropping my blood pressure. Probably just need a different med.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Different med or different dose. I'll bet you have been light headed and dizzy, besides tired.

Trying for pics tonight since I failed yesterday! I was having too much fun sewing I just could stop for pictures!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Very tired.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I just got home from San Antonio. I saw the dermatologist about dry skin patches I have had for years. One on the top of my right wrist was basal cell carcinoma. That one got removed, sent in to pathology. Another one on my left temple got froze. He said that one was precancerous. It is not a bad cancer, just annoying.
Heart Dr, has me wearing a heart monitor for 7 days. News meds are being sent to the pharmacy.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Still a relief to have dicey cells removed. Hoping new meds help and agree with you.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Glad you are getting the concerns all addressed LindaK.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, although they say rain all day the sun is shinning..let’s hope weatherman is a bit confused...if you can believe it they had snow just north of us yesterday. Grrrr

Sharon, hugs this morning, am sure they are needed..

LIndakay, so glad all those skin concerns are being looked after and that wearing heart monitor will give them a good indication,of what is going on and that maybe it’s just a change in meds that is needed.

Pat, no doubt you are busy, seems there is never a day you are not. Lol. Look forward to photo’s

Can only imagine what Susan has gotten herself into 😜

With my making a little area on side of shed where I now able amd chairs i’ll Have to make a day trip to meet up with Debbie..I ordered the galvanized flowers and had them shipped to her as they don’t ship to Canada, can’t get my project looking like I want without these flowers..

Next 4 days they say sunshine so here is hoping the are right..I’m almost to the point where I can do walk around and pick Weed, of course there is always something I think I should be doing, I am truly more open target if I see it on a list and can mark off as I go.

This weeks to do
. Fix solar mason jar stand (bought wood last week, still in car)
. Do measurement for back shed side patio...need cement patio slabs
. Work gardens with hoe
. Look at what paints I have to redo the muskoka chair set, been awhile since I’ve
Painted, m.aybe I’ve forgotten how

That ought to keep me busy till the weekend.

First I need to get dressed, have another coffee p,vacuum and dust downstairs and see what I can do outside before the rain starts

My to do’s

Verona, ON

Dreary, damp, chilly day here. The rain has finally stopped but it is so wet I can't get into the gardens without sinking up to my ankles.

It is down right cold here in the mornings - mid 40's. I could have a fire. Tomorrow morning if it as cold I will flip on the furnace for a bit.

The guys finished up yesterday so now I have to put the house back together. The new front beveled door with 2 beveled side lights, plus a new door to the TH's yard and a new picture window with double hung windows to let the air in are all in place. I am really happy with the look. I am a little peeved at Mike the general and he knows it. Somehow he dismantled the screen door to the TH's yard and can't get it back together and up.I need that door up to let the air flow through the house. He is leaving for Ireland on Friday so I said I would wait until he gets back but I need that door.

Lots of rhubarb ..... sure wish you all lived closer. I still have some in the freezer from last year.

LK do you have to wear the heart monitor 24/7?

Wonder if Susan has done a flit ? Sure hope she and Bob are well.

Give Debbie a hug from me Betty.

Thinking of Sharon and holding her close to my heart.

Stay safe and well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, I have to wear the heart monitor 24/7, for one week. Take it off and mail it in.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same weather here Dianne, gets to you doesn’t it..I’ve had my heat on all week..calling for 4 days of sun, hope same at your place..

Nice to have reno ‘s done, bet it looks lovely..big sigh about the screen

Darlene called me this morning about Hubbard, first thing I thought of was rhubarb cement stones..asked if she could cut them down in a week or so, one of the pathways going to back won’t grow grass so I want to make a walkway..forgot to ask about rhubbarb part, love rhubbarb sauce,

Still looking for that little table I want for the garden design I want to do, was told to check a salvage place up the road, omg talk about a a dump, am sure that is where my bbq and chairs went to..lots of reclaimed wood if I decide to make the table..if it hadn’t been raining I might still be there.

Dropped into foodland for muffins, as they had just finished taking chicken out of rotisserie i decided why cook so that is a plus..

Oh let me not forget that on my way home I saw at the roadside a rusted metal tripod, about 5ft and a nice finial on top, passed it by then thought ‘self if it were at a craft sake likely you would buy it so I backed up and home it came, never do that but just had to

Raining right now, I’ll find a home for it tomorrow, maybe buy a vine or climbing rose for it.

Chicken is calling me

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Weeeellll….Just to add to the fun, Jess counted 24 bats flying out of a hole by our chimney. Gonna have to find out what's going on there. I like bats and know they are good to have around however, need to find out just where they are lurking. We don't have an attic. The chimney has a wood burning stove that's set into the fireplace opening. We have talked about removing it and just having the fireplace but will have to see first if chimney is full of bats. Ay Yi Yi.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy, surprises surprisee Karen, I’d be freekimg.
When in Texas a few years ago we went to the bridge where there was over 1 million bat that left at dusk and came back before dawn. I was quite interesting to see them go in formation. They are cool I believe who is to eat bugs

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning lol..sunshine day and to be followed by three more, hurrah, best I not get too excited as weathermen do make errors..

So much I’d like to do that I don’t know where to start. It is much too wet right now to be outside so maybe I’ll try and finish my Canada pillow..our Canada day celebrations are in 2 weeks, would be nice to set it out on front deck with a floral of red/white.

Before I forget,Sharon wishes you all well and said she would drop in soon.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Weather everywhere has been "interesting" it seems. We've had some beautiful hot days interspersed with downpours!

Marie had been really busy with DH medical issues, his legs were swollen & weeping, got that under control, then the knees started swelling. Seems most of her time has been taken up with doctor and testing stuff lately. We did get together last night for dinner and then sat at table and talked until it was time for me to go home & take care of Ben.

Marie & I have resumed the doll project, will attempt to get all the dolls and "kits' (storage bag with draw string with wardrobes) ready to deliver to charities before Thanksgiving. The doll on the right (#4 pic) is one of the BRAND NEW ONES! we found at Goodwill. We bought all 60 of the dolls for less than $4 per doll, fully dressed in tunic, denim capris and tennis shoes, still secured in the boxes. She's currently dressed in one of the "remakes" I did of someone one else's dress. Shaped the bodice, added straps etc. Last picture is of used doll that we removed ALL the hair, it was not salvageable, she is pictured in wig & hat in #4. We will complete her stuff and donate her to a cancer fund raiser later this month.

That is a good buy on the dolls.

I have been at the quilting group the past 2 days, helping teaching young 4H kids to sew.
They made pillow cases, and they all had a good time.

Yes, GREAT buy! We normally pay that much for naked used dolls, have to rehab hair and make something for them. To have new, IN clothes & not have to clean is a dream come true! LOL... still lots of sewing as we make each doll 1 or 2 pair of pants, shorts, shirts & skirts, and usually something to sleep in. Many times a bathing suit as well.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

You are going to make a lot of kids very happy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, sunshine day, calling for 70 till Monday when we get rain for a week..I’ll enjoy what sunshine we get.

Are you able Pat to get more?
Remember a few times making nieces outfits for their dolls, too tidious for me,takes a special person to be so committed..

LIndakay, now don’t those little ones look happy, great feeling teaching your love of sewing to kids.

Just finished coffee, zillion bugs right now so thought I’d play a bit with my Canada day pillow, likely by 11 sun will have chased them into hiding and I’ll still get a good day in.

Bought flowers yesterday afternoon, still need more, need those planted..cant believe I bought another wreigillia shrub but back giving are seemed to be offset..are you like me? When doing an area you try to make each side same, maybe one different plant in centre?

Dropped off wood I had, scraps of sorts but hadlumber yard cut me 2 pieces a rough shod wood for top $8.00 for table top, Dar and I will pick a day next week and get it made, had alternate plans but Darlene insisted for what I wanted we must make it lol

I am not consistent in my landscaping. I don't necessarily balance with repeating plants. I know for a more professional look it's best to repeat, I do try to repeat most plants over and over while still getting variety in. My focus is getting something in bloom at ALL times and enough garden Art in place for when the plants are done with there is still some interesting detail.

We bought all the dolls they had and it was miracle they had them, so not counting on more anytime in my lifetime! Marie refuses to have anything to do with rehab of hair and styling so getting new dolls was huge bonus for me! We had decided to really scale back and only do about 50 dolls this year, 25 Cabbage Patch and 25 18 inch.... so much for THOSE plans. I guess God had other plans... The only draw back is that those 60 dolls are identical, same clothes etc. We already had a fair number of dolls collected so we'll be over a 100 again this year.

I LOVE doing the doll clothes. Doesn't take much fabric and the expense is relatively small. I've learned a lot of short cuts and I repeat to myself "It's just doll clothes" if I get too obsessive about something being imperfect!! Kids don't care.... heck if you don't make the doll a nightshirt or PJs for their doll they will put it in THEIR own old Tshirt! I've never had a doll complain that something is itchy or too tight, or not the length they want, or not their favorite color. Nothing is ever too short (or long), and if it can GO on, it's good to go! Besides I get to choice the patterns and colors! What's not to love???

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well it sure is your thing..

I’d be contacting manufacturer representative, tell them what you are doing and I bet they will provide new or seconds..

played in garden for a bit and already tired..think I’ll cut grass with rider then see it I have to use push mower or ok with weeder, then comes winding cordmfor weeder, every weeder needs cord done differently.

Well I’ve layed down for a tad, Best to get moving or I’ll be laying here all day.

What are you all up to today playing in the Gardens, weather OK to do so?

Verona, ON

Glorious day out there.

I need to get what I call a lawn cut. Also need to get some flowers into the dirt. I am not bouncing back very well from my latest vertigo session. Zip energy. Did manage this morning to get to the next village over to get the TH's monthly supplies. Spoiled, spoiled , spoiled dogs and I wouldn't change it for a second.

Pat what an inspiration to others you are !!! Those little girls who receive your dolls are lucky little ladies.

LK I remember 4H well. But we sure didn't do something exciting like quilting a pillow case.Kudos to you sharing your talent and time.

Karen any update on your bat situation ?

I spent the last couple of days watching and listening to coverage of D Day's 75 th anniversary. David Muir (abc) interviewed 9 vets for several days. These vets were all over 90 and as sharp as tacks. There is a fellow who turns B and W photos into coloured ones That really made the photos stand out.. One 97 year old fellow was a paratrooper during WW !! and with the help of a current paratrooper made the same jump June 5.

Must have 40 skeeter bites - woke up that way - I have no idea where they are getting into the house. I had none before I went to bed.Just took some Benadryl so I hope it will help the itch. I have some After Bite somewhere so will have to dig it out.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same kind of day here Dianne..
Think we spend more $$ for our furries re vet/food/toys than we spend on ourselves.

Nomskitters here yet but I’m sure they are coming.does calam8ne not work for you Dianne?

Watched some of same Dianne, it was one said worse worry I’d they’d be forgotten..so many Canadians loss.god bless them, only a few remain!

Was pondering this morning on same thing Dianne, we don’t bounce back like we once did..here I am back on couch for a rest..need to get a move on again.

Just phoned mom, Jim my stepfathers birthday today, she wasn’t home, likely trying to keep busy as these anniversary are difficult.

Ok,off to thread weeder cord

No danger of the bats getting into the house. We will wait until the end of summer, so all babies will be grown, and then seal entry after they come out in the evening.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Too hot here to be outside much. Supposed to be 100 today, 104 tomorrow. I just dropped the car off at the dealership. The windshield was not sealed properly, and water was getting between the 2 layers of glass. So they are replacing the windshield and a new seal. Supposed to be done about 6.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is not good..I’d say it’s about 72 today and much same for weekend..perfect weather for me..

Did a bit of trimming, just going to clean up..would you know my grocery store has $10 planters, either by now they will all be gone or look like they are ready to expire
