Praying the vertigo goes away quickly Dianne.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear have vertigo again Dianne, has t be one of the worse things to have..know what you mean when you lose full days..

Dianne it’s pouring rain here and will do so all day. Glad you have your helper, after all the work you did last rearit shouldn’t be as hard this year?big smiles re the hippo..
As for my boys, Greg came Mother’s Day and we got a few things done, Jeff and Caleb were to come up last weekend but rain, wont come up from the city today and do remaining jobs, not with this rain, not sure about tomorrow..

Am thinking of calling that young man that did the house and decks to get the remainder of to do’s on my list.hope not as what I’d pay him would buy 3 hanging baskets lol

I took a quick run to Fesserton, must say they have the healthiest looking plants and hangers that I’ve seen so far,,another $125...yesterday I spend more than that and am only about 1/4 done..1 of the hanging baskets was $30 but really nice..next week I will do front deck -3 planters..
Did get enough plants this morning to do the two long baskets off the back bedroom deck, and to fill a little trio pot hanger for the fence..

While cleaning up in the secret garden last night I found a metal piece that holds 9 pots, thinking I might set it aside, that would be $$$$ again but might look pretty..hmm have any of you bought a big hanger then dissected it into smaller pots?

Grrr just saw the prettiest of orange birds at front window and no seed, he was looking at hummingbird feeder though.

Think I’ll cook up some bacon, eggs and home fries, kind of thingone does on a rainy day..that and paper/fabric cut outs

Today’s pretties...

It's adorable when the dogs latch onto some toy as a favorite comfort companion. My sister's laberdoodle will hide her favorite toys so her "cousins" next door won't steal them. Both houses have doggy doors and Marie (sis) and her son Chris x door, leave the gate open between the houses and the dogs can come and go. Seeing Jenny hide her toys cracks me up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ziggy has a realistic looking mouse, about the only think he plays with and it scares the beekeepers out of me sometimes.

Sun came out for all of 1/2 hr, got my plants in their containers, need a bigger container the the big rusted iron basket, what I have is either too small or way too big. Grrr ... the sun is short lived, I can hear the rumbl8ng in the distance, so back to inside entertain8ng myself

Verona, ON

Keiran and I got 2 hours in before the sky opened up. Today we concentrated on getting the area where the snappers like to lay their eggs. I had some of my winter wood stacked up on skids there. So we got all the leaves, winter debris and the skids moved. I've got everything together so I can dash out and cover up where the eggs were laid so the raccoons can't get at them.

Lovely flowers Betty. I am thinking about going to Burt's Greenhouse tomorrow. It's about a 30 min drive from here plus I can stop in Wilton and get some curd. Yum !

In a way I am glad it did start to rain as I could feel the vertigo starting to ramp up on me. I'm headed to bed soon. I've taken my meds so that will help me sleep or at least rest.

What's everybody up to this weekend ?

Sounds like a good start Dianne and yes, I feel the good lord brings the rain so I keeps us inside or we’d be hurting. Saying tomorrow and Monday no rain so maybe we will get a few more things done.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yep, rain has saved me more than once when I don't have good sense! Sorry to hear about the vertigo. My husband has had some issues with it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty sounds like the orange birds are Orioles. They will drink the sugar water too. They love grape jelly and an orange cut in half is a real treat. My daughter has several at her house and they clean up everything she puts out every day. She has two feeding stations. Each has a small dish of grape jelly and half an orange.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Xooh that is good to know, yes they were around the hummingbird feeder..will get orange put in the morning..early trip for birdseed as well

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful baskets Betty.

I have been working on a purple heart quilt for a friend in Oregon. She is presenting 6 of them in a few weeks. I will get it mailed out Tuesday. I just got it done, I will take photos tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oooh anxious to see, Linda.
We have 6 QOVs finished, two more out for long arming, and blocks made for another couple, so I have time now to work on other things. Wanting to do some embroidery projects for the greats. I love the reading pillows Betty has been making.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone, it’s a sunshine day..an outside day for sure...got all my housework done, coffee in a take out cut and actually sat on back bedroomcafe set sipping my coffee..birds are singing, nit quite as loud as yesterday but enough to say ‘have a beautiful day’...my world today is in every shade of green, although beautiful in itself can’t wait for color.

Have my list of to do’s but decided I’d walk the gardens and get done what I can get done and just enjoy the day. Dar and John have company this afternoon and John likes to sleep in so not sure my plating bench will be delivered today or not but that is ok, thinking for it too be more visible might put it where the Roger plant is, I bought it because of its name, planted it 3 different areas over the years, now near back shed it’s thriv8ng, I often go there and say hello Roger so a good place to put the bench.

Karen I even have an orange cut and set out in the tree, hope the orioles find it..big warning Karen, those pillows become addictive. Lol

Have three sets of patio cushions to set out so up and at it, see you on my next break

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Here is the purple heart quilt. I am only making the top. She puts them together when they arrive.

Now that is a beauty LIndakay..love the insert..president side view is the finishing touch..your idea?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, I'll have to take another look at your pillows to make sure I do them correctly. I have enough greats to keep me busy with them for a while.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

This was all from a pattern.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well you did a great job LIndakay, anymore in the works?

They are easy Karen, although I do them differently re back closure, use up a tad more fabric but worth it..let me know when you are ready and I will do a step by step with you if you wish..know you know how to do pillows, just thought it would be fun.

Going to make myself a BLT, was up early and tummy says it’s hungry..have 15 more perennials to plant but need the trip hypertufa columns up and running before I plant them .. hoping that project gets done today

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks Betty I will

Victoria Harbour, ON

Severe pain in shoulder and neck so came in for a 40 minute Dr.Ho treatment..hoping it’s enough to allow me to get back outside and put a few more hours in.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Make sure you take your pills Betty. Sounds like you over did it.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Linda K, what is the difference between Purple heart quilt and QV?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just had a bath, Jammie’s on, hurting like hell, phone r8ngs, checking to see if I’m home, doctor says he will get here around 5..imagine, house call on a Sunday!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

WOW... a house call on SUNDAY, YOU ARE SPECIAL!!! I hope Dr. gives you some relief and answers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

He came just after 7, going to give me a shot of steroid in the trapezius muscle and make appt for a nerve specialist in Barrie..in meantime I’m to take Tylenol 3 -3 times a day, 4 on days pain is severe, will also give me something to sleep.he will try to come thursday night for the shot,sreroids..if not next thursday then the a week Monday.

He still had 2 patients, he is doctor for end of life patients, patients who prefer to die in their own home..said he and Dr.Veal have 25% of area patients.. he alone has 2,000 patients, yes 2,000. 2 doctors retired end of 2018 and 2 more end in the next month, they have no idea what they will do

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pat, QOV quilts are anything red white and blue. For anyone that has served their country. A purple heart quilt is specifically for those who were wounded.

Betty, I hope you get some relief from the meds.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

thank you that explanation, I guessed but I wanted to KNOW for sure.

Goodness Betty, I am so sorry the pain is so severe.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think I knew that LIndakay but had forgotten.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon everyone, what a sunshine day, girls just left, thinking of. Going to nursery for a few more pretties.. calling for rain tomorrow so best I get the few things on my Monday to do list done today..they are calling for 3 days of sunshine starting Wednesday so here is hoping!

Karen, far better when you can buy a second hand machine that you can try out.

Janice this morning said there was a $4,500 demo floor model embroidery machine in Barrie on for $2,400 so she is going to look at it this week..

I actually sat outside and had my coffee this morning, enjoyed that, birds were just a chirping. Janice helped me take the big bbq out to the roadside in hopes someone will take it so I don’t have to get the boys to come with truck and make a trip to the dump.

No news re Darlene coming over with my planting bench, has to wait for a trailer so I just have to be patient, you all know just how good I am at that...lol

Off to make a salad, didn’t have breakfast today so Tummy is saying it needs something.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yeah, I put lots of things on the roadside and let people just haul it away. I gotten rid of some really nice things that I just didn't want to hassle with including Queen Anne arm chairs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lots of people here put things on the curb. It doesn't stY there long. Even old appliances get picked up. Some people repair them. Some sell it for the metal to he recycled.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well m hoping mine gets picked up for metal..
Went to garden centre again, Lordy not a good thing lol

Just as I was turning onto main road I met Greg, he was off to doctors, hadn’t been in 10 years, hasn’t even met the doc that took over from our previous doctor..he said seeing same doctor that came last night going to ask why he can’t get on home visit list lol. Melanie turns 50 Wednesday so he asked if I wanted to join them Wednesday nights at an Italian restaurant, she didn’t want a part, then they started asking this one, then had to ask that one..Greg is hoping he can get seating for 36

He then said he just got off the phone with Jeff, both coming,Saturday to spend day with me, I started to laugh, told him the list is all but done, said ‘well I guess we we just sit and keep you company’ nope I’m on the lookout for secondary to do’s list lol

Body needs a rest, it’s rumbling out there so rain is in the air, will go out and make a couple of planters, bought all different plants to go with dipladenia plants I got today see how they turn out, figure I’d save $5 a planter doing them that way..I’ll go pick up 6 hangers on the weekend

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening,
Just running my bath..
Greg and Mel dropped in a few hours ago, brought Foxy Lady home,I never take it out, feel like she is a lawn ornament..

Greg went to doctor and doc is concerned over his liver count, I’m worried now because that is what took Roger when he was 47..big sigh

Saw someone taking the bbq, scrap guy, thrilled about that.

After Greg and Mel left I I decided to give the day one more push. went out and lit the fire pit while it was dry, with rain tomorrow it would take till weekend to burn again...heavily watered trees, shed, ground all around it..just embers blurring now and it is spitting rain so I’ll stay up and keep an eye on it! It was so high with brush, thankfully no wind at all so all went well

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you had a busy day today. Can't wait to see your new planters.

Anyone heard from Susan? I haven't seen her post in awhile.

Victoria Harbour, ON

She is so busy with her community organizations and also house projects, not a wonder..hope she is not Mia because she is ill..

I hymned and hawed yesterday about buying mandavilla plants, been thinking about the so off I go to nursery, pickups meds at pharmacy, have to make sure steroid meds are in for injectionand a. few groceries, don’t mind doing running around when it’s raining.

LOL... don't ya hate it when you WISH you had just BOUGHT the darn thing that you passed up and now regret?? I tease my sister all the time when she is debating and trying to talk herself out of something. We drove to Portland OR (4 hour drive) to shop and buy shoes (we have TERRIBLE time finding shoes!) She bought probably 8 pair and had this red pair of shoes she wanted but didn't buy. In the morning, before leaving Portland, we had to go BACK to the shoe store to buy the shoes.... Now all I have to do when she hims & haws debating about buying something, I tell her "BUY the darn red shoes!!"

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sorry - you're right Betty, been MIA doing community stuff, and gardening, and church... yup, may be almost summer, but things are ramping up.
Monday our Senior's Centre has a Silent Auction, then afterwards I'm attending a Wellness Society meeting as I'm their new Secretary. This Friday I'm going to the dentist to get my uppers out, and one lower, then will get my new dentures. Going to be painful I hear, to put my dentures in the new extraction sites.
Sorry to hear you're in so much pain Betty - hope the shots help.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is how I had my teeth out and lower, upper dentures right in..say it’s easier to adapt at your gums heal to form of dentures..
Don’t overdo..is Susan coming this summer and are you going camping.

Went to town and bought 2 mandavila’s, the larger vining type I bought, bright red flowers I gave to Melanie when she dropped in after work, I kept the pink toned mandavilla..gave to figure out where I will pit it

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

They like to climb. I am sure you have a post somewhere.
Hey Susan. Sounds like you are staying busy. You will be sore for awhile, but will have a beautiful smile with those new dentures.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Short term pain, for long term gain - looking forward to having a nice smile again :) The side benefit - I'll lose some weight as I'll not be eating solids for awhile
Yes, Susan's coming out again this summer - end of July and will be here for her birthday, Aug 11th. We're having our Annual BBQ in our Mobile Home Park again, on Aug 10th. Looking forward that, too. We hope to go camping this year. Susan so enjoyed it when we went in 2017.
