Good rainy morning. It is just a drizzle but annoying enough you can't go out. It is so wet Keiran the little guy (who at 13 is 6ft) has applied for a PT job at Foodland. I sure hope he gets a PT job there. We can work around his schedule.
Susan there has been just a lighter tone in your posts since you moved. It is so good to read/hear. I have to have teeth pulled too .... not looking forward to it.
I've been awake for hours but still wandering around deciding what to do.
Chaos and I are at a crossroad. He has a tick just over his right eye and he will not let me yank it out. I can't find his muzzle. It must be in the laundry room. The promise of a new stuffy hippo is not working either.
Pat your were far more patient with your sister about the red shoes than I would have been. I am not a shopper so online buying is great for me. I have 3 pairs of shoes - 2 sets of flip flops and 1 pair of sketchers.
I'm excited to see in person the things my fav jeweler has made for me. I'll pick them up on the July 1 weekend here at a show in Kingston. Mark took a diamond bracelet that I had and worked it into a Celtic bracelet plus he had enough diamond left to make some drop earring AND make me a necklace out of the diamonds left. I can hardly wait..
Betty we should both stay away from garden centres. I swear those flowers talk to me and scream "Buy me".
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old and new!!
Dianne, I hope you can post a photo of your jewelry. It sounds beautiful.
I hope you can get that tick removed.
Morning everyone, taking a tad longer for the morning warms up, everything in the gardens are wet, figure by the time I have another cup of coffee and cereal I’ll be able to go out and play.must covermyselfwith calamine lotion first, Drats I hate poison ivy!!
Rita called last night, she is coming to spend the night, not sure what time she will get here..door is open lol
Going for supper at a 6:30, Italian cuisine, about 30 of us to celebrate Melanie’s 50 birthday...
Once I get my mandavilla replanted I will go on the lookout for so many saplings I see in gardens and put them along the back property line, won’t help:3 this year but perhaps in years to come will grow enough to fully hide back property line.
That is today’s goal..
Must get dressed first
Been forever since I got dressed up/heels etc lol
Must remember to bring my camera so I can post some photos
The project that has taken most of yesterday and then another 1 hour tonight to finish. It is now safe for me to exit the back door! Picture of the "door" walk and what can be seen from what will be my back porch when "next project" is done. Last picture is from door into family room/game room thru to entry.
Beautiful photos. You have done a lot of hard work.
The lavender clematis is really something this year! First time it's looked this good. Nice that both bloomed at the same time.
Looking so very pretty Pat. All your hard work really paid off.
Thanks, it's coming along. I find that I forget to take pictures and then "miss" a beautiful blooming stage. My dogwood tree was just beautiful but I missed taking pictures of it this year. Oh well... I have pictures from previous years.
Morning all, almost afternoon isn’t it...sun is shining, working out without a jacket so that is nice...birds must be happy, all singing in harmony, I’m amazed, Ziggy doesn’t seem too interested in them,thank goodness.
Pat I can see all the work you,be done, you’ve made it so inviting, you must be thrilled with your accomplishments..now sit and enjoy.( listen who is talking right? Lol
Rita just left so it’s time to get working, t least until Darlene comes to deliver potting bench..I see Ray is here trimming the ditches so think I can cut grass when it dries up a bit..
Need another trip to nursery so I will attack another unkept garden, maybe take all out and work soil, set everything back in so I can set black mulch in it..
I’m thinking if I get that done today I’ll have accomplished lots, now let’s see just how much I do get done..
Are you all outside working or enjoying the sunshine maybe with your feet up..
I’ve been out working in the garden and Darlene and Steve came and we set the potting bench out in the backyard, Lordy it’s a lot bigger than I thought have to decorate it with something.
Just had lunch so now I’m back out working the small garden near the side door, taking all the plants out and re-planting...Job is a lot harder than I thought but now that I started I got to continue. Have about two more hours to work at it,Quick run to the nursery then clean myself up as the doctor said he would either come tonight or Monday night to give me a shot of steroids in shoulder.
Off I go
Pat I enjoyed seeing your photos. You have done a lot of work and it shows.
Dull and dreary morning but then the sun came out. It is cool though. I could have had a pancake fire this morning.
Betty my Foodland has an amazing selection of hanging plants and planters.. Much better than the 2 hardware stores. You know I don't like to go into Kingston but I was humming and hawing about whether I would have to go. Now I don't. I'll just go to the local farmers' market on Sat and get some fillers.
Kieran my garden helper who at 13 is over 6 ft can't come until Sat, He has football tonight and divisional track meet in Belleville on Friday.We'll get a lot done. At least we got the area where the turtles lay their eggs ready for them. I haven't seen any snappers but did see some mud and painted turtles trucking up the hill.
Chaos is just fixated on hippos He loves the Telus commercials with the hippo.. He has a stuffy one now but it goes missing overnight. I am not sure if he is hiding it from Diesel or Diesel is hiding it from him. Anyway every morning starts with a search for the darn thing.
Deb are you busy with your dogs ? Did you have something on this last weekend ?
~~~~ to everyone.
I am here. Just busy putting sewing machine away, and cleaning house. Hubby will be home about 10. Have to pick him up at the airport. We have tornado watch in effect till 11. Praying the weather is good for him to land.
That is worrisome Linda Kay, sure hope his flight is uneventful. How far is the airport from you?
Tired tonight I don’t want to go to bed just yet because the doctor said either Thursday night or Monday night he would come to give me the injection, not looking forward to getting it but will be I guess if it works. Darlene was here earlier her brother-in-law Steve helped her load my potting bench, quite a bit larger than I thought it was but it looks nice set in the corner in the shade in the back lot.
Diane they were calling for nice weather for the weekend that I see in my region it’s rain rain rain, wouldn’t you know Greg & Jeff said they were coming on Saturday and it’s going to rain again...Maybe I should tell them not to bother coming from now on because every time they say they’re coming it rains.
Nice to see that call Kieran is still able to help you considering he is so active in school sports.
Worked hard today I deserve a treat, I think I’m going to make a quick bread putting and enjoy it with a dish of ice cream
Our little airport is about 10 miles, not far. Just got a notice, that the flight will be 40 minutes late. Now arriving at 10:40, instead of at 10:00.
So far the storms have gone under us, but more are supposed to be her in about an hour.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh bread pudding!!! Yum!
Just a short note to let you know Vern died this morning at 10:35. CNA ad caregiver were both here so I was not alone. And now his pain is gone and he is being greeted by all of his family and our animals that preceded him. I will return.
M sincerest condolences Sharon.
Double post..
I am so sorry, Sharon. Sending prayers.
Sharon,how very sad and overwhelmed you must be feeling today.I’m glad that you were able to be with him as he took his final breath.May the great memories you had over the years console you . Vern could have had no better caregiver,you were there to provide to his every need ...hugs Sharon
So very sorry Sharon. We are holding you in warm hugs.
Quite a shock for Sharon..Although Vern was failing she thought he was holding his own..
I wondered this morning if Ziggy was feeling unwell, called him several time, he never moved off the couch or even looked up,that in itself seemed odd, went and petted him trying to get him to follow me upstairs and no go. Few minutes ago I need a ruler to go measure some wood I need and there was the basement door open and back entance door open, guess he was able to come and go at his leisure all night so now is tired as can be and doesn’t want off the couch lol
On the cool side so putting my jacket on so I can get some outdoor work done.
Oh Sharon, I am sorry for the pain and trials he & you have endured. I am grateful he now has peace, pain free and is with those on the other side that love him.
So sorry to hear that Sharon. Sending our condolences and prayers. Lots of hugs too.
Afternoon, thinking of Sharon, no other loss is as great.she can take console in the fact that he wanted for nothing,greataesta of care right to his last breathe...
did nothing this morning except have a 2 hour nap..sky is heavy,if I don’t get off the couch I’ll be able to say it’s not because I’ve a lazy on but it’s because of rain ..big yawn 😝
Maybe I should check, might be warmer than it looks.
What are you all up to today?
Nope, just as cold as I thought it was...brrrr
Put 2 goals on a pad, I seem to do so much more when a see chores written down
#1
scrub metal door and wash down birdhouses so when it’s dry I can while was birdhouses..been a good10 years it’s been in the back 40, John and Darlene moved it yesterday
#2
See if I can tidy up under deck a bit be moving old chairs to roadside in hopes the will be tan and open up the muskika chair that has been under deck in ions, likely it will have to go in fire pit like old bench
Happy with my potting bench though..yesterday in town I bought a bowl and saucer that is perfect for it
Getting ready to go to town, get some lunch, then groceries.
Under the back deck looking to see what’s there and what I can put at the Roadside, found a Muskoka chair and a foot bench that I painted at least 10 years ago..wasn’t the nicest design that I painted on all the chairs but the wood is solid, needs a lot of sanding then repainting so question of the day
Does it go in the fire pit along with red bench
Or
Do I revamp it by repainting the design and background white and tan
WELLLlll… do you need it? Would you miss it? someone else CAN benefit from it so not going to waste... Do you have TIME for it??
I vote NO fire pit but the rest you'll have to figure out! LOL
Our evening & weekend help is doing Basic Training this week so of course this is the time when Ben ends up needing more help than usual. Having to wash ALL bedding including the quilt I have BEGGED him NOT to touch, the only blanket I sleep with. Pillow, mattress pad, yep, ALL of it. Some days I am so tired and frustrated. No matter what precautions I take, he manages to overcome them. I know it's NOT on purpose, but that does not reduce the work it creates.
Pat, I do believe you need some hugs. Frustrating weekend here too.
Sorry to hear that Pat. It is so hard to be a caregiver. I went through that with my Dad. Sending you hugs.
Early morning ‘hi’,
You are all in thoughts and prayers..some days are more difficult than others..we struggle through them until there are sunshine days to look forward too.
Thinking of Sharon this morning..hope her being with family help ease some of her pain..
Waiting for daybreak , would love to finish cleanup under the deck,,yesterday I put 11 chairs at the roadside, in no time the guy with trailer that picked up bbq last week picked them up..great way to rid myself of some junk without going. to municipal dump. Hurrahhh.
This evening I have to be sitting 3 girls as niece/nephew will drive to Toronto airport lto pick up Suzanne and Lenny..missed Suzanne as we speak daily.
Glad to hear someone could use your items.
LOL... I put stuff out and it's fun to see people scoop up their "treasures" and move on. If I forget to put free sign, they will knock at door. Seems it is usually some delighted female and a reluctant male driving a pickup truck.
One of my granddaughters "finds" stuff by the road. Takes it home, rehabs it and sell for very good money. She always has people waiting to buy her finds.
