Omg tell me I’m not the only one who has a drawer like this?? Filled the counter and zinc with its contents, so far I’ve a grocery bad of garbage, glad tomorrow I’m planning a trip to the dump

As always I’ve a helper

Now that was a quick clean up, lots in garbage. Lol

Wonder how long it will stay clean

Ah you have my favorite potholders to make. Quick & easy when I need new ones to whip up. Love how they are double thick.
I only have three drawers in my kitchen so no room for a junk drawer...all the junk just sits around until discarded or used.

Verona, ON

Betty I have a drawer exactly like that . Getting better as I used to have 2. I swear I cold clean it out every 3 weeks or so. I'm blaming the TH for that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Too funny..

Yep whenever I have something in my hand that has no home in the junk drawer it goes, Lordy could hardly open it..

Know when I get the ‘todo’ daily task and it’s the cutlery drawer I’ll have half the drawer to go to Salvation Army..only two drawers here as well.

When I get the cupboards over the stove it’s oacked full of food/boxes, bet 1/2also goes to garbage for be8ng past best before time..why I buy so much when it’s just me is stupid, throw more food away than I keep..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Lorraine. Sending prayers.
We have one of those drawers too. At least every 6 months we clean it out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad im not the only one..thought maybe I was a poor housekeeper lol

Got my tires changed, should send notification to Mother Natue, picked up fabric to try the turkey 😁

Did groceries and just got in..put in a full day and I’m out part of the day tomorrow so might just take a bath and have an early night..

Went to the dollar store, saw display of mother’s day cards, thought if pick one up, going through them this mentally challenged man, likely in his 40’s stood watching me read the cards, he was holding a large coke, I asked him if it was for him and he said yes, I said that is a lot of pop for one person, he said he liked pop, he then asked me if I had a toonie ($1.00),I looked but I had already given my change to two young girls fundraising for a school dance. Told him if he waited and I did my shopping include his pop, well as I went up each aisle he followed me and stood inches away, patient as can be.when I got to the till, the lady said, ah you have someone who is treating you, he smiled..off he went. The salesgirl says he comes in a few times a week and they don’t ask him to leave, people are very generous and he always gets treated, Bless his and their hearoff to relax in a warm tub with lavender Epson salts.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

If I remember correctly, our junk drawer from previous house was dumped in a box and I'll bet it's out in the garage somewhere. I have so much out there that we haven't needed in all the time we've been here, I just need to send it all away.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Prayers for Lorraine, Betty - how scared she must be.
Awfully nice of you to "treat" the gentleman.

Just home from the hospital. Dr said I tore my medial collateral ligament in my left knee, when I fell March 20th, on a hilly slope behind the Post Office. I'm to go to PT (will take 1-2 weeks to get in), use some gel on it, and do some gentle exercising.
I'm glad I checked it out.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Frigid temps out there but sun is shinning, snow in the forecast for this aft though.

Susan, sorry to hear you did damage to your knee, could have been much worse..are ipyou in a tremendous amount of pain?

Goodness Karen, best you check what is in that box, might be treasures.
Safe travels

Lindakay, how are you making out with your quilt..your gardens must be coming to life. Glad I didn’t take winter covering off back porch as snow is still looming but anxious to maybe see a tulip? You get to enjoy roses..

Was up at 5:30, could have likely fallen back asleep but decided if get up and get a good start to the day.

Got my jar ‘to do’ done, another easy one, tromped loeil cabinet in my bedroom, smiled at that as I cleaned it out a few months ago so less than a few minutes and done, was worrying it might be the cupboard under zinc or washroom zinclol

Doing some visiting today, have to dress warm for my visit with godson Paul at Mapke Syrop fest and a visit with Joanne, I’m so NOT a visitor..cut out the turkey pattern so it’s ready to trace, also bought the fabric, think I’ll bring all with me and joanne and I can trace and cut..

When I get home I want to shade the sign and add light fixture to garage, wording then a big project done.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning, ok afternoon now....

We had a few days of nasty winds. County over still has a few without power back.

Last night was snow and Ice mix and more wind, but not as bad.

Today is fix the dishwasher (a week without it) and DHs car. I am "cleaning" in the kitchen....drawers included. Have mercy a mess!! AND this house has not near enough cabinets or drawers to put anything. AND what is needed....gets put on the back porch until I need it. Its horrible.

My hands are so swollen right now my finger nails even ache. Lasix is doing nothing. My blood work I had on Wednesday came back a mess......everything too high....or two low. AND one needs repeated. My next appointment is April 16 and Endocrine doc. I did get good reading for my Mammogram (thank you God) on Tuesday.

Betty would love to come up and see Cookie, so enjoyed her on our sisters meeting. Will work on it!!

Waving to all....Susan be careful with that leg!!

Debbie

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

We are in the high 80s in temps and having a major wind storm. Roses and irises are getting ready to bloom and every year, just when they get in full bloom, up comes the wind.

It is Saturday night and I have no help on Saturday nights to get Vern to bed. I have same young lady every night but she likes to go out on Saturday night. Vern loves it because he can stay up late. He is still able to help me get him into bed. He has been getting confused about where he is or where he has been Especially after naps.

Betty, I am sorry about your SIL's cancer.

I have many drawers in my kitchen. I totally cleaned them about 6 months ago. There are a few that need to be cleaned again. I also need to glean some kitchen gadgets that I never use and just set up one drawers for the items I use occasionally.

I have spaghetti squash and a meat loaf in the oven and it is dinner time. You all get some warmer weather.

Betty, your sign is great. You are such a good friend.

Vegas now has a NHL team. This is their first year. The have qualified for the Stanley Cup tournament. We have 152 homes in our development and now have 5 team members that have purchased homes in here. They are all young, with young children. My back yard is on the greenbelt and the tot lot is right behind my home. So I have met them, their children and their dogs. I usually go out to quiet my Schnauzers from barking. But you know me, I have never met a stranger. Just like the rest of you.

Hugs. Today's amaryllis blooms. Same stalk, different sides.

80s.....sigh.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, not to worry if you can’t come here for 4 days, but always keep in mind a day at Niagara Falls Canadian side. I’ll send you shortly our agenda..just a month left and they will be here. Hurrah. Hurrah

.Sharon, so nice to see you post, I so enjoy as others do see8ng photo’s of your spectacular garden, like Karen, big sigh, we had snow overnight, plow passed by and now it’s sunny, but more snow to come, Lordy likely June before I see a flower in my garden.

Didn’t realize you had an NHL team, exciting for sure, I’ll be on the watch for how they do next season. Greg and Mel were in Toronto for last game of the season last night, not sure who won.

Bought a spaghetti squash a bit ago, still in refrigerator as I’ve never cooked one before.

You likely rest better at night having someone to watch over Ben.

I almost got to meet you, we planned for Roadtrip 2018 (now only 2 of us) to fly to Las Vegas, one way, rent a car, do Grand Canyon, stay 3days and tour around, then fly to SanFrancisco spend a week there then fly home but we even our Buffalo gals are being steadfast, no USA Re Napta agreement so looking into Ireland..my girlfriend Elizabeth, family friend, just called me this morning, we will go through what we could do there for 2 weeks..sad because I so wanted to knock off all the USA states, mainland before I kick the Bucket. Lol

Quite the morning, picked from my to do jar, oil table and chairs in din8ng room with furniture oil, no $$ because I left my wallet/purse at Joanne’s yesterday..worked out though, joanne’s hubby met me at Walmart so got my wallet and my oil..

Going to let l8nda sign cure, going to set it in the sun and maybe tonight I can gicpve it it’s first finishing clear coat.

In the meantime I’m go8ng to clean this mess, get paints back downstairs and vacuum..furniture oil being absorbed by oak, soon time to do chairs then maybe work on that turkey project..

Was even thinking of calling greg and Mel for supper but maybe I’ll just mello out.

Betty - the Dr prescribed some gel for my knee, and it seems to be doing it some good. I'm gently walking, but I am keeping in motion so it doesn't seize up.
I've finished 2 Prayer Shawls & put their tags on them.
I'm looking forward to Wed - when I start learning how to do stained glass!

Morning all, won’t hit 40 to do but it’s not snowing

Sharon is on her way, told her I have a scheduled massage at 5 soooo lol

Susan, love that verse, glD you aren’t worse for the fall.
You will love stained glass..a, sure Dianne would tell you same, clean your surface constantly, clean your surface constantly and I could say it numerous times over..you don’t want glass chards in yours hands..also make sure your feet are covered, no San does, solder can roll, thus burn feet..what else, oh yes if you can purchase a grid to work on that helps with chards..you can do cheap way, look for those grid panels let’s say Home Depot and have Bob make a box so that it sits on and all chards can fall throughmost important, enjoy..who knows you might get Bob interested, might take over the soldering lol

Sharon is on her way, 1 1/2 + drive, gives me time to get my jar ‘to do’ done..another easy task, clean the side dresser in my bedroom..did it this winter so a quick go over

That is about it for me, what are you all up tp this glorious day?

Ohh I’m hoping in between helping Sharon I can stuff turkey n veggie parts that I grinned and baked yesterday lol

Betty - what is that on the tin foil?

I suppose Katherine will tell me, but when thinking about what you said about grid - it sounds like I'd put all the glass on the grid and any tiny shards would fall through to the box below? I'll see what size of shards Katherine has, and I guess I can judge how big of a grid I'll need. I figured you'd appreciate the work going into making a stained glass piece even more than those on the receiving end of your craft. Thank you for your input & insight :-D I certainly plan on enjoying it! I don't know how much stained glass I'm getting, or how long it will last, but am getting excited about it! Wednesday @ 1pm!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, suppose to be a sunshine day but it’s awfully overcast and nearby areas getting snow.

Susan, the chards are pieces of glass that when scrolling the glass or cutting other piece break off, sometimes if not cleared you cut yourself, some go deep within the fingers..

On the tin foil ismthe fabric I cut in shape of a turkey body, wings p, legs and veggies for a thanksgiving piece I’m mak8ng..I grunge the fabric, baked inmoven, got all the veggies stuffed, perhaps today the turkey parts, grunge again and put together

Had a busy day yesterday, sharon was here for the day, greg came over and put New tracking on the quilting frame, went for massage, did my jar to do.

Must finish coffee, get my jar task finished, for a little old gal who doesn’t cook a whole lot I sure have a drawer willed with I’m sure I’ll never use sooo maybe if I work fast I can get down to hand and get it to the roadside for garbage pick up

Girls come this morning, so best I get a move on, times at a premium..

Good morning.

Susan ask whomever is teaching you SG if you are going to use the came or foil for the finished piece . Then I'll weigh in on some advice. The equipment to own is very expensive.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

turns out I won't be learning SG just yet - she's said to work on it in her basement is rather stinky & she's wanting to wait for warmer weather (maybe the summer) when we can open the windows and I'll be able to work with it on my deck.
She returned the $$ I gave her. Probably just as well - I have a lot of projects on the go, and some on the back burner that need to be done NOW, This Year, No UFOs at the end of 2018!!!

I got a letter from a lawyer today, letting me know that my mom's will is in probate, and to contact the executor (my sister Ruth) to find out details. Ruth's line's been busy, and I'm not give the option to leave a msg, which is odd.
I don't understand the legalities of the letter, so really need to speak to someone.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, not raining yet, told it will start shortly...ok with me as I have a full day.
My jar to do for todayis doing staircase and making sure no dust in the chairlift.

Susan, sorrry to hear about the stained glass class being cancelled, mknow how much you were looking forward to it..
As I’m doing another run to the dump Friday I thought whynot take all day, do a bit at a time and clean the dining room cupboard I store platters, vases, wine glasses etc.so I don’t want to tire myself, easy does it.

I gave another coatto linda’s sign, a coat to the fireplace mantle, did a load of wash, put the turkey together, ooops big mistake. Lol, have another cut outto make for Melanie.,that is okill keep this one for me 😂need to find a large primitive platter and it’s only 9:25am..you have no idea how great it is to be feeling my old energetic self.

Timbrr mart just called, my order for rustic wood cut into slats for the Christmas project is ready for pick up...starting early, besides the girls coming from Ohio can do one. It’s Joyce’s birthday (Joycet) must remember to call.

Lorraine had her operation yesterday, she was told they had to go much deeper than expected, now comes the 2 wait long to get results asto what next step is..

Turkey looks AWESOME, Betty!

PT called and there's been a cancellation, so I'm starting PT today @ 11. Best get myself in gear & get ready :-)

Beautiful turkey.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good news Susan..

Thanks lindakay..

Drats who knew cleaning a little cupboard would take so long
The 5th load in the dishwasher.her is soon done so taking a rest..wanted to throw at least 1/2in garbage but Lordy all good stuff, hate to get rid of anything so all going back in. Figure by 4 I’ll be done..just washed the cupboard out with spray nine..strong stuff

Then a hot bath, out of my work nightly and get dressed for the girls sew class tonight.

Well, got to call the sewing studio in cookstown to see if embroidery class is still on for Sunday before I forget.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Physio said she doesn't think I tore the ligament, but if I did, it was a slight tear. She gave me some exercises to do. One is to be done several times a day, and the other 2 are to be done 2-3 x a day.

Going to our Arena's AGM tonight, to give a report on the Wellness Centre that I am a part of. Looking forward to it. It's where we have our Wellness Centre's library (it's a public library, not a wellness centered one).

Verona, ON

Betty I noticed in 1 of the photos you posted on FB you had a glass jug on the counter cut so there were three sections with wood separating them. Very good friends of mine made that.I was their 'mom' on the road. Once set up was finished I never had to drive again until close down.

Not looking good outside right now. Sky is threatening. Forecast is no better rain and freezing rain for tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not sure which Dianne, haveto go see
Yep weather doing same here

Enjoy your time out susan..now to get excercising

Omg I worked 8 1/2 hour’s today and girls are coming at 7 to sew

Made a really bad choice, ordered an order of fish and chips, on Greasy side and now I’m not doing so good, tummy churning..knew I shouldn’t do so

Stupid stupid but it looked so good..

oh oh... hope your tummy's doing better, Betty

Off to meet a potentially new Dr. Beats travelling an hour to the one in Calgary. This one's only a 1/2 hr away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hope your weather is better than our, freezing rain and likely same next few days...

Hope the doc Susan meets with your approval!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Yes, the new Dr is nice - one of my requirements is that I understand what he's saying (had a Dr once that I could understand 2 in 4 words.......). Dr J is nice & his office is right next to the hospital, so that's good - he has hospital privileges. Not all Drs do anymore.
We went to the bowling alley, and Bob bowled (I can't, as yet) and they invited us to join them next Thurs at their bowling windup at a restaurant. We're spares, but they know we'll be joining them next Sept.
Today, the first item out of my Job Jar, is to make a curtain for the furnace. The door was a louvered door, and was always so dirty. This way, I'll be able to throw the curtain in the wash any time. The louvered door could only be cleaned during good weather when we could wash it outside. The new curtain will be made from an off-white tablecloth that we don't use anymore.

Hello from M.She and Lorna have been down visiting Lorna's DM. Last night they went to the Mandarin for dinner. Yum !!

Just got back from Chaos' vet check up. He had an excellent visit. The vet is amazed at how muscular he is. He had his Lyme and Parvo shot so he is good to go for another year.

Waiting for the rain to start up. For once I want the WLs to be wrong.

Betty I hope you have battened down the hatches !!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Dianne for update on “M” read she hit a bit of snow along the way..
Great news on Chaos, bet you are relieved.

They are calling for several days with freezing rain in the works, big sigh..have a class in Cookstown at least an hours drive on Sunday 10am, was going to meet up with Sharon for early breakfast but won’t be going if there is a chance of freezing rain.

So this morning early I started to clean under the kitchen zinc, Lordy what a disaster..nice and clean and organized, even folded all the plastic bags and what did I find under the zinc, a r/w/b plastic bag holder so that makes things look a lot cleaner..another bag for the dump, let’s hope I can fit all in the car.

Tomorrow I will try my best to take winter covering off back deck, birds are singing so it would be nice to see them, rather a big job but I’m up tp to it.

Did want to put a quilt on the frame but cleaning took most of my week."at least now when I go downstairs to play I won’t be th8nking of all the cleaning I should be doing.

Joanne will come for coffee this aft. I found a Mrs.Tea like the tassimo machines, new, but I don’t drink teas, she does so along with a few items she can take them home..

Bagged and set aside and labelled things for others..beautiful set of steak knives, still in box engraved with a friend’s business so greg wants those..

Best I not stop, need to see what I can fit in the car for dump..have tire appt at 3:00 to replace car tire that had a few holes in it..white wall area, then dump, then groceries and chinese for supper, treatfor being so good this week.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Dianne - glad to hear Chaos' vet check up went well

Betty - SO glad I've got this Job Jar - working on clearing out my closet - I'll bet I'm getting rid of 50% of old clothes. Will put all the sale items for the Community yard sales (May 21) in the RV, so I can bring them out easily, to our driveway. We'll move our RV to Carol's driveway, next door. She's not returning from Cuba until after the sale (May 24th)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wonderful Susan..makes cleaning like a game right?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, and speaking of games..... I have a LOT of puzzles to sell, so I'm making one to make sure I have all the pieces. I counted a 1000 piece puzzle, and ended up with 1122 pieces........... and they looked right.....
When a friend was helping us pack during one of the moves, instead of laying them flat, he thought to save space and put them on their sides. Needless to say, I think some pieces got mixed up lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy Lordy if it were a school day it would be a snow day..stormy out there..

Dianne and Debbie, you getting same?

Stayed in bed til 8, didn’t sleep well, kept hearing sump pumps going on every few minutes, worries me the will shut down and flood so kept listening for them.

Trying to decide if I’ll take a lazy day today or go play in basement, had planned to take winter covering off back deck but today is not the day to do it. Guess I should not have taken off winter tires!

Bought fixings to make spaghetti and meatballs so this morning is as good as any time to make it..want to stock up for meals for when Joyce and the girls come next month..they enjoy my spaghetti so good time to get at it.

Hope better weather in your neck of the woods.

What is your day like today?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yukky and stormy here too. Person who was supposed to look at house today cancelled. Can't say as I blame him, he was coming from Ohio.
Sit & sew day, making good progress.
