Happy Birthday, Susan!!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Happy Birthday Susan.

Betty I am relieved your friend passed before the injection. God Bless her and her friends.

We got 1/2 an inch of rain last night. That is a lot of rain for us. Back in the mid 70s tomorrow.

I made the hummers food with a little extra sugar because I knew a cold spell was moving in. There are 3 hummers and they have been here all winter. The other day it was so cool, two hummers were on the same feeder at the same time. That is unusual in this area. They spend lot of their time chasing each other away from the feeders.

Vern had an UTI about a week ago. I have test strips at home. Doctor has called in the antibiotic I need. She is very understanding to my needs when it comes to taking care of Vern. He started worrying that we had left the cats where we just come home from and were suppose to go back to get them, and we didn't. That immediately alerted me to a UTI infection.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I sent that because I needed to start heating up our leftover soup for dinner. I usually feed Vern by 5:30 and it is already 6:25.

I worked in my front landscape Friday for 4 hours. I kicked butt. I had a garden helper here so I cleaned, made pies and he came by once in a while and cleaned up my piles. Made up another pot for succulents cuttings. I will take a photo tomorrow.

My son's wife and son are coming Wednesday for a visit. He is in the Army Reserve and has a weekend drill. She is coming for her daughter's soccer tournament. They come in Wednesday and will here leaving Tuesday. Grandson Luke is now 9. I get to see him at least 3 times a year. All trips are planned by my son's wife. And I appreciate her very much.

I am getting all of my container garden pots refreshed with new potting mix, my special mix and then in two weeks will get them panted. Have a lot of plant holdovers in the greenhouses and coleus have been ordered from Rosey Dawn for early April delivery.

Karen, I hope you are feeling better.
Linda, are you feeling good.
Judy, so nice to see you back.
Marilyn, where are you.
Deb, is your cat feeling better.
Diane Spring is on the way.
Susan, tell us all about your birthday.

Hugs to you all.

I cut out sugar 8 days ago and starting about 3 days ago,, I feel fantastic. I did not realize how much I was eating until I stopped.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone, just a soft snow falling, only suppose to do same for a few days then sunshine.

Sharon, do hope Vern is on the mend today..coleus, think grandma kept hers in the house, does that sound right? Was just looking outside and thinking of you and your lovely gardens, here much of the ground is bare but looks terrible, more limbs on the ground than ontrees I think, not really. Lol. How nice you will have a family visit , nine, nice and gabby at that age, will keep Vern entertained.

Nice to see you back with us Judy, what a darling little one..glad Steve is back working..kniw it was getting concerning..any more work being done on the Florida house?

Hope Susan you were spoilt on your special day..

Feeling better lindakay?

Ziggy is laying watching me on the couch, wasn’t sure who would fall asleep first, guess it he

Joanne and her hubby brought me flowers yesterday, belated birthday bouquet..glad as the one Suzanne sent me was done and soon the one from Mel and Greg will be as well..

Hmmm not letting me download photos

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, glad to see you back....but still resting.

Susan, happy you had a nice birthday....Belated wishes.

I am still coughing and sniffling all over the place. About day 6 or 7 of this cold and
I am ready for it to leave. DH shared....I was not appreciative. I admit this time I have whined more than him....making sure he knows is HIS fault. hahah

The weather right now is calm but they say not so the next couple days.

Fingers crossed it clears up and passes us by.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for the birthday wishes.
I went to church in the morning, then when I got home Bob & I went to Smitty's for dinner (early, cuz they close @ 3pm on Sunday). They sent us both birthday dinner coupons for free dinners and because we're 5 days apart with our birthdays, we get to go at the same time.
I got a b-day card & singing (barking?) from our neighbours Pat & Glenn & their dog Yoti, and an invitation for Bob & I to join them to go for Chinese food at a day/time of our choosing - how lovely! We both got lots of calls & cards, of course.
At night I made a cake with candles, we sang Happy Birthday & blew them out together. All together, a lovely day.
On Tues the Craft Group celebrated my birthday with a jelly roll cake with sparklers lol It was fun!

Can someone please contact admin. I got a new computer and I can't log into DG from it. Only my phone. It keeps telling me my email is not associated with DG.
I sent them a message on Facebook, but they are not responding.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, overcast but next few days promise to bring sunshine..

Are you all fixed up lindakay with DG

Debbie sorry to hear you are under the weather..not much of an update, still spending most on the day laying on heating pad, body is giving me the what for..

Joanne my friend wanted me to go onbus trip to Paducah in a few weeks re their quilt show, not up to it..brought smiles though, remember Debbie when we were in Calvert City visiting dg member and we went onanexcursion?? We went to Paducah fabric shop as a treat to me right before the tornado came??

How is Lorna doing “M” is your winter almost over?
Is she going back to work this spring?

Greg leaves for Newfoundland tomorrow, flies out and rents snowmobile forweek of fun..mom visits for the weekend, won’t be much of a visit, sure hope I can do her drapes..Sunday it’s Celebration of Life for Lois at BaxterCommunity Center (one of the facilities I ran as Reccoordinator.

Hot chocolate time

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Lorna goes in for her 'DEFINITIVE' leg tomorrow, the young lady prosthetist she works wth now has done an absolutely wonderful job on making the new socket. Her other prosthetist, Kerry, is embarrassed, as well he should be .. Val is his associate, but, she is fresh and new and uses techniques that work. I still am taken aback when Lorna comes walking into a room with no walker, just a cane.
She has had dental extractions and a plate put in, just one more go at hat, and, her blood weathered the procedures.

Looking forward to going down to see her Mom, who is doing well, her 88th BDay is April 8 ..

I lurk her off and on, and send condolences to you Betty re Lois.
I am part of the "MAID' mov't here .. Medical Assistance In Death. Basically just the interview part.

Hello to everyone, here's hoping Melody answers at least one of us ..

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

What great news “M”

I’m thrilled for Lorna...Val didn’t offer any kind of refund I imagine seeing he did a bad job.

You would be so good dealing with individuals in MAID, the interviewer who did her 2nd assessment was so compassionate, takes a special kind of person.

Weather should be ok for the drive “M”..she will be thrilled to see you both.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I think it is time to ask your Dr. about doing surgery to try and get rid of your pain.
Glad to hear Lorna has someone that knows what they are doing.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pmorning, overcast but no snow predicted for the next few weeks.

Housework done, having coffee and will go downstairs and do a bit, forge forward..

Asking l8ndakaylindakay for tests, at the end of my wit, guess if I upped my meds I’d get a bit of comfort but Lordy who wants to do that.

Are you feeling better, up to quilting? Been saying all week that I’d get the winter birds quilted, just a wall hanging, you’d have thought that was an easy thing to do but not, maybe today is the day..

What are you all up to?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Just up to my usual, working on QOVs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am doing much better. Thanks.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad you're doing better, LK

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Me too. Thanks.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, what a gorgeous day, sunshine galore

Wonderful news lindakay, you’ve had it quite some time..Suzanne has acute pneumonia, not doing well, like you she seems to feel better then it’s right back!

Did mom’s living room drapes, think enough left fabric to do a topper for kitchen and maybe side window but had enough for today, so did Ziggy, can you see him??

After she left for her brothers’ I took a run to Cookstown, picked up a gift for a friend who sews, omg such wonderful side items, one of the things was a holder, will take photo, of course I needed one as well lol

Bought background fabric for a quilt I saw in the magazine Janice bought me for my birthday, Lordy fabric is expensive here but have to bite the bullet seeing no joanns..big sigh

Got my block 4 of the 6 from monthly winter solstice kit, least nicest of them all, tree and birdhouse, joined a machine embroidery class, 3rd Sunday of the month, with nice weather on our doorstep thought I’d try it..paid for one class and see how it goes.

Now I’m home, on the couch thinking maybe hot bath, meds and relax..

LOL Betty... Ziggy thinks you can't see him.

Lovely sunny day but boy is it cold.

Made my foray into the village to IGA and the PO. Now I am in for at least a week.
Stay safe, well and warm/cool
Dianne and her TH

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL Dianne - I think you're right, Ziggy thinks he's hiding!

On the 24th there's a quilt & quilt fabric sale at my friend Pat's church. I donated some fabrics to the church for the sale. Won't be able to afford to buy any, but then I'm sure I have enough here lol Thing is, I'm in a small home, so don't really have the space to store any. That's one reason why I'm making banners for the church, and trying to make up some of my UFOs, to lessen the load of "stuff" I have stored.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pretty curtain fabric. I see Ziggy, he best not play in that fabric.
