Great news Karen !!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That's great Karen. Happy prayers are answered.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

If I didn't say it before Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends!
I called my brother (we haven't talked for years - last time he was a major jerk & everyone in the family said I shouldn't bother) to wish him Happy Thanksgiving, and he was so pleased to hear from me. He asked how my surgery went, etc, filled me in on what he was up to, I told him about my daughter Michelle (they've always stayed in touch). He told me that he knew Mom had a bad day on Thurs and told me that they've got her on stronger meds and she's a bit 'loopy". The meds are for her pain. She's literally skin & bone (70lbs), so any time she's touched, she hurts. The meds are to make her comfortable.
Michelle went for an ultrasound this morning, and they found a blood clot. She's now on warfarin for 6 months. Guess that means she won't have her hysterectomy any time soon. I know they wanted me off warfarin for 6 months before they did surgery on my knee.
I went for a walk in the Park this afternoon, with my walker. Ready to come home when I was done - about 25 min, along with chatting with neighbours up & down the route. Took stewed plums over to Pat.
Came home, prepped (washed) chokecherries, boiled them, now they're dripping in cheesecloth over a bowl. Will make jelly with them. After standing over the sink/stove for hours, my knees stiffened up, of course, so I laid down & elevated & iced. I'll be fine.
Bob's over @ Pat & Glenn's finishing the railing for their deck - HOPE this is his last day. Tomorrow we're going out for dinner to celebrate our 19th anniversary (10/10/2010)

Susan, if you were married 2010, that makes it 7 years.
I have never heard of choke berries. I googled them, and they seem to be a northern, pacific coast berry.

Karen, so glad to hear she is doing better. It is amazing how fast they can recover.

Only 7 years Susan? 2010 to 2017?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is what I was trying to put, 7 years, but DG would not let me, it kept adding the 1 in front of the 7.

57 degrees this morning, with the cold front coming through. My son in Amarillo has 39 degrees.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, high of 61 today with a feel like 59
Kind of cool for you lindakay but your high of the day is likely in high 80's?

Happy Anniversary Susan, hope the day is special for you in every way.

I'm with you Karen, kids heal so quickly..remember taking greg to emerge, extremely high temp, by the time the doctor came his temp was normal..felt silly but that is how kids are lol. Glad Amelia is doing better.
Bet it felt good speaking with your brother..

Barb now are things going your way?

Set garbage at curb, going to make coffee as some of the girls are coming at 9, have pie for desert 😜

didn't get Halloween out yesterday so perhaps this afternoon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

High temps of mid 70's today, nice and cool but it feels good.

34F here this morning ... haven't had a frost yet .. just a bit on the roof.

Lorna has 90% of her beds pulled and tilled .. she will cut this week as they want to apply fertilizer.
Her leg is still glued on, she meets with her Amp rehab team on Oct 23, at which time she will begin the journey for a new leg ..crying shame, and, all my letters and calls to gov't have fallen on deaf ears .. :-(

Best get crackin (literally) have the master bathroom to clean, and MAYBE the fridge :-)

Toodles

Good morning,

No outside work for me again today. It rained most of the night and it is very humid outside. My hair looks like bed springs.

LK the temp difference reminds me of here. It can be pouring rain at the top of the lane and the sun shining on me a mile away. It is always about 8 - 10 * warmer in the village. Just weird .

Happy Anniversary Susan and Bob.

Deb how is Miss Haley and Miss Deb today ?

Happy Anniversary Susan and Bob!

Today is Hayley's 11th birthday. Kind of bittersweet, because I know it will be her last. She ate pretty good last night, but, in the mornings I don't have a lot of time to spend with her while getting ready for work. She ate some, but not as much as I'd hoped for. I may run home at lunch time and see if I can get her to eat some more.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy Anniversary Susan. I hope you both have an awesome day!

Verona, ON

Oh Deb you are such a good mom.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

aw geeze - brain dead, obviously - married in 1998.......... so it was 10/10/98........
Bob's daughter told us she was getting married 10/10/2010 and we told her that was our anniversary - her mom was NOT amused lol Don't think she appreciated the irony.

You'd have to sign up for Instructibles to see this, but you could quit right away - it's something I though you ladies may appreciate for yourself, or as a gift. Apparently they cost $300 through a retailer!!

Decided to make a stew, ought to last me till Friday lol

Finished the teddy bear Halloween door panel, too cute, almost tempted to keep itvs giving it to my goddaughter for her birthday of choice.

Can't believe how dark it is, won't be long the clocks are changed then we will really be in the dark

Rita texted me re her granddaughter Jordan, she and two friends were walking alongside of the road when a bunch of older boys around 18-19 passed them, they started to create a fuss and pulled a gun on the girls..girls ran screaming..think they arrested one, can find the gun but the boys say it was a b b gun but those girls wouldn't really know..frightened they are.

Oh my goodness! That must have scared them to death. I pray they find them and put them away for a long time. BB gun or not, the intent to do harm is still there.

Betty, I love that door panel.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That's awful, Betty - even a toy gun can look real, and when it's pointed at you, you don't stop to examine it closely!

Door panel is so cute :-)
This is cute, too lol

I'm feeling so heart-sick about my daughter, Michelle and her dad/my ex, Steve. So much happening in their lives...... Her, with a broken foot & unable to have her hysterectomy any time soon because of a blood clot & being on warfarin, and Him - recently diagnosed with lung & brain cancer, and a low chance of surgery because of hardening of the arteries. He's not a bad guy, just wasn't right for me, after 23 years of marriage. No one deserves to hear this kind of news, regardless.
Please pray for them both.

Rainy day here so I've been downstairs putting Sharon's Christmas top on the frame, mom has a cross stitch one she want done for a friend so know I have to push myself if I want time to do my own things without playing beat the clock of,December 25th.

Susan, love, your photo, bet all, eyes were on you both..Lordy Bob is tall or is it you are short lol..hope you had a grand day.

Deb, my heartaches for you and as,others say you are a great mommy to your dogs.

Today is your group sewing day is it not Lindakay, so glad you found these women, really the girls here do say, some days more chatting than sewing.

Need to run down to foodland while there is a break in the weather, I would like fresh rolls to go with the stew I made yesterday.

Susan, you guys look very nice.
Praying for your family.
Betty, those quilts are beautiful.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm 5' and Bob's 6'3" lol so, we're both - he's tall & I'm short. I'm glad I lost some weight since surgery, cuz now all my buckles buckle to the last hole, and not 2 over as they were. I'm still a little chunky & need to lose more, but really difficult, living with an "enabler" as I do lol He buys sweets & chips & hickory sticks.......... siiiiiiigh I have to Stop him pushing those buttons.
We had a lovely time at dinner last night - I had sirloin, and he had roast beef. Even an expensive restaurant can be reasonable, from the Senior's Menu!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon everyone, high of 59 today..chill in the air.

Lordy half the day is gone..Janice who usually comes she ew g thursday night came this morning, working on Xmas pieces, just left so now I need to have lunch then maybe go quilt on Sharon's quilt top for a few hours.

Glad you had a lovely anniversary dinner Susan..Caleb is 6'3" and I'm just under 5' so I know how short I feel when I'm standing next to him..you look in good health.

June called me last night to say Pat's sister fell, being examined in hospital then they will take her to hospice..haven't heard anything today, must call her to see how Sue is doing.

I'm hungry..Hear the restaurant next door has good fish and chips, was thinking of trying that tonight but drats still have lots of stew to eat up..

Not much happening here but I believe I'll have company from Buffalo/Rochester way for the weekend 🤗

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, put the stew in the freezer.

I went to the Dr. yesterday, with chest pains I have had for a few weeks. With all the coughing I had with my sinus infection, I had a feeling that I pulled a muscle. Well, the Dr. Immediately did an ekg. It showed everything was fine, butvshe tood me I needed to go to the er for a complete workup, to make sure I was not working up to a heart attack.
I told her how much we hated our local hospital, that I would go to Uvalde, 45 minutes away. She told me I was not going anywhere, unless it was by ambulance or my husband drove me. So she made me call Todd at work. I was about to explain things to him and the Dr took my phone, told him how urgent it was I needed to to the er right away. So he came and took me to the er. I had all kinds of test done, and was told myheart is fine, that I pulled a muscle in my chest wall. They gave me a shot of morphine and sent me home.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yikes lindakay, bet you were worries as I am sure that Todd was fretting all the way to doctors office...best to be safe than sorry right?at least now you can rule out heart attack but doesn't help not knowing what really is the problem other than pulled muscle which I'm sure can be painful. Are you in bed resting?

Worked on Sharon's quilt all afternoon, Lordy takes forever to do..bet I'll have at least 30 hours into it .. what sisters don't do for their sisters lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It was scary, but I am glad it was not a heart attack.

Can't wait to see your work on that quilt.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you Betty - I think I turned a corner yesterday, re: health. I'm still using a cane, but I insisted I not have my picture with it. It took awhile for Pat to take the picture, but I was determined to stand & look well........ It was getting to be a stretch to continue standing there, but I had Bob to support me.

Verona, ON

Oh LK that is one good doc that you have. Very glad to read it was not a sign of a heart attack.

Absolutely gorgeous Fall day here. There is a crispness in the air but the sun is shining.

I had a flat tire today. A good soul pointed it out to me at the IGA. I thought the Escape was running rough but my lane and township road are bumpy. Drove right to Vaughn's the local and excellent mechanic. I thought maybe a nail from when the crew was here this summer but it was the bead on the tire. Fixed up and ready to roll.

So what did you do for lunch Betty ? I agree with LK - put that stew in the freezer. Do you remember when you ordered take out fish and chips it was wrapped in newspaper?

Need to rustle up something to eat.
Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

No place in either freezers, time I throw a lot of precopked meal and use what meats I've got so it's stew again tonight, made sandwhich for lunch.

Thanks lindakay, a lot more hours need to go into quilting but I'm sure sharon will be thrilled to get it back.

Won't be long Susan you will be running a marathon, give I a few more weeks though lol Any news on your mom?

Dianne, are they calling for rain all weekend in your neck of the woods? I do remember the Friday night orders of fish and chios and them wrapped in newspaper, kept the order warm while getting it home. You are lucky you weren't left stranded, glad it was a quick fix. Didn't get my flyers yet, any good sales at foodland?

Should have gone and done groceries tonight but have a lazy on

Deb, how are things your way?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - a marathon? I think not...... my left knee isn't fully healed yet lol
No, nothing new on my mom, nor my daughter, nor my ex.
With my mom it's day by day. Still working on her obit.

Verona, ON

Betty I was looking at the weather on CP24 and they are calling for rain from TO east on Sat.. Chance of rain some for Sun.

Very thankful that we have an excellent mechanic in the village. Vaughan is a great guy . He is very fair. Just before Warren died we had new tires put on the Escape but he didn't give me a bill. After Warren died I went in to pay him and he said he lost the bill.He wouldn't take any money. He wanted to leave the account in Warren's name if I didn't mind - he said when he sees it he will remember Warren as a great guy.

LK how are you feeling tonight?

Last call for the TH.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Drats awake because of paining body, this darn weather, rain rain and more rain, plays havoc with these old bones. Grrrr. Hig 60's -low 70's

Not nice weather for Paul and Debbie to be visiting but I'm sure we will manage..bala Festival is tomorrow, best I look for umbrella.likely they will get here late morning..safe travels Debbie!

Isn't that a wonderful tribute to Warren Dianne, when instart thinking of Christmas I think of our Santa Warren gift exchange.

Obit is not a fun thing to be doing Susan, better now though and not at time of death.

Lindakay,Barb, how are you both this morning?

Think I need a coffee

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I am here checking in on all of you...LOL Getting ready to do my breathing machine and then it will be back to the cat. I am all the way over to the ears now and I'm trying hard to make sure it will be done within the year I gave myself to do it. I think it is possible.
My quilt room is now a table runner/placemat room! LOL No more really big quilts for me. I do have Sean's to do but it is an easy pattern and doable for me. I'm still finding places to keep the things I kept and It is fun seeing things I had forgotten about. So it is a bit of sewing, a bit of the cat and a bit of rest.
My hospital be is working out just fine. So much easier to achieve a good position than scrunching up pillows all night long to achieve the elevation I need. I have heard from the scooter people and after talking with them, I'm thinking a power chair might be a better option for me. It is smaller and lighter. Will be much easier to get around inside here. I don't really go out much at all anymore - I have told the kids they need to come to me as I can't go to them now. Still need to be able to get to my doctors though.
Off to do the machine. Hope everyone has a wonderful day....

Glad the bed is working well for you Barb. Betting the power chair will be a help too. I've gotten so little sewing done lately, very frustrating. Amelia and Lolli were both sick requiring Urgent Care. Amelia with a virus. and poor Lolli with double ear infection. It got to the point where I finally had to tell her mother to just get home and take her for treatment. Then she still was going to wait until GS got home which would have been over an hour while that baby was screaming in pain. I sent her out the door. Makes me so crazy sometimes but what will happen to those little girls if I'm not here to see they get proper care. She had called Drs. office and whoever there told her unless the baby had a barky cough and a fever of 104, she didn't need to be seen. I cannot imagine such idiocy.
