I dread the leaves that our HUGE silver maple drops... then in spring all the little helicopter things. MESSY tree. If I don't get the helicopters picked up I get inundated with Box Elder bugs, those are their favorite food it seems..
End of the month my Dad will be moved back to my sister's out of the AFH. He is counting the days. I do hope moving him home there will be some positive changes. I know we have started to gently correct some of the things that drive my sister crazy. If she doesn't stand up for herself and say something, I can only do so much.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new..
That's great that your Dad will be moving back. Here's hoping the corrections "stick"
Time for me to get ready for church.
Well I just lost my post - my fault. BBL.
It's not the easiest Pat having a sick elder living with you, your sister will have to speak out about things that drive her crazy..would be better for him I'm sure to be in a care facility. Hope I'm grave enough when time comes to say 'a home for me'. Had an elderly friend at the time say she would know when time came, time came, gave her house to her daughter and lived about 12 years in a home.
Dianne, hate it when that happens
Cleaned and washed down back deck, managed to sew 15 little strips for the rug, thinking to myself I'd not make a bunch of them lol
Good morning, I slept in late again. This flexeril knocks me out!!!
DH was supposed to work today, but they finished all yesterday. So he is out mowing.
Betty, took my lasix last two days...so swelling is a bit better. But hurts to bend
fingers. I have to call for my next appointment with RA doc tomorrow.
So happy Paul did well with the fryer. Thing is big and should handle a bit of food for him. Glad I could help a little bit.
I did find some flowers and such yesterday to fix a wreath I already have....and forgot about...up in the attic. SO saved money in long run. haha
Susan, thoughts and prayers for tomorrow. All will go well and you will be home running circles around us all with two new legs!
Need to get some laundry done.....enjoy your day and be safe!
Sorry they are upside down. Maybe some day dg will fix this problem.
Beautiful lindakay, you did pattern in back? You are ambitious. Very young man,I keep thinking older vets get these Quilts of Valor.
Debbie, here is hoping you can get something that takes the swelling down, never knew skin could stretch that much..yes paul was over thrilled, kept telling me not to forget to thank you.
Kyle just came to show me his new trailer, just got back from camping..told him that instead of the side pushing out it should be roof of camper, not more than an inch and he would have to duck his head 😜 Lordyhe doesn't take after hisgrandma for height..to think Caleb is taller than he,
Off to see if there isgad in the mower, I do not feel like doing it but if I don't there it will sit.
Last o my blooms
That back of the quilt is a panel with the eagle, I just added strips to make it the size I needed. He has a son in the army, with the 101st airborne, about to be deployed to Iraq.
Beautiful camper Betty.

Reversible, lucky him..did you drive far for the presentation lindakay? Bet it meant a lot to him..q
Less than a hour to cut the grass, don't know why I was procrastination, big sigh, grill fell out of front and I ran over it..almost time for annew mower, had hoped this one might do me another year..was thinking maybe I should look at fall sales.better forget buying fabric and get mower lol
Greg just called to say he heard my Aunt Hazel passed away about an hour ago..guess I'll be going to funeral this week
We presented the quilt at his church in town. About 7 miles.
Sorry to hear about Aunt Hazel. Sending our condolences and prayers.
Betty so sorry to hear about your Aunt Hazel....hugs.
Linda you did a beautiful job with the quilt, I'm sure he was very happy to be so honored.
Thanks everyone. It was truly an honor.
Morning, rain called for today, got up with headache again, weather changes I'm sure so something for it, I'll have a quiet day.
Thinking of Susan this morning as she heads out for surgery..prayers go with her.
Aunt hazel/uncle Marcel (Roger's side) lived behind me on the lake, Roger worked away from home Monday/Friday most of our marriage so they were my go to for everyone. Back then there weren't many neighbors and small town so I spent mega time with them.
What are you up to today!
I'm so sorry for your loss Betty. Was this an aunt you saw frequently?
Great job Linda Kay...
Sending prayers for Susan...
Good morning,
Humid here today and the heat showed up now in September! All week supposed to be like this.
Betty sorry for the loss of your Aunt Hazel. Hugs!
You know, your Mom can run circles around ALL of us. She wore me out
at the shop. haha The 3 of you are so much fun for me and I think of some
of the stuff and get the giggles later.
Battling the headache still and nothing is touching it. I think maybe a touch of sinus has moved in with weeds blooming and all. Not happy with all this. Sleep is the most I am doing it seems.
Susan, thoughts and prayers are with you today. I lit a candle....It helps me focus and keep good thoughts.
Barb, how are you and Mr. Norm doing? Regarding the hospital bed My 2 cents. If you get one.....and get a good nights rest in the comfortable position....not tossing and turning on 3 pillows. Just think how rested and how much energy you might have the next day? HUGS!!
I took a few pictures...I thought I would share. I don't craft much...so you get nature from me!
Beautiful photos Debbie.
Sorry to heat you and Betty both have a headache. Praying it goes away soon.
Sorry for your loss Betty.
Beautiful quilt, well done LindaK!
/Susan is in my thoughts and prayers this morning.
I'm feeling used and abused, just plan crabby today!! Ben agreed to drive our little truck so "friend" get some "free" red rock. they left the spare, wheelchair and walker the bed of the truck.... They never cleaned any of it out afterwards. On top of that, their daughter walks thru the house and decides to "take a short cut" thru the garage and leaves the interior door open.
Then youngest son borrowed truck so he could borrow our lawn mower. I asked him to please wash out the truck and wheelchair etc. He kept the truck for more than 24 hours so was too late for me to do anything about. Returned it unwashed.
NOW I get to climb up in it and wash out the mud and red rock that "friend" should have take care of. GRrrrrr.... this man is not a "friend" but a PIB. specifically MY B.
He is constantly trying to get Ben to do something for him. Things that Ben is NO way capable of doing with his health and mobility issues. "Friend" is the most narcissistic person I have EVER met and he drives me crazy.
THERE----now I can laugh and feel better.
We are characters Debbie. Lol
Love the photo's, one day I'll visit and you can take me to these wonderful places..rest. Rest and more rest, off you go..
Took my excedrin migraine, it masks the headache fairly quickly..must buy another container next time I'm stateside.
We had a nice trip downstate but glad to be back. I probably shouldn't have gone with this cold, kept my distance as best I could.
Just had another go around with the real estate lady. She wants another open house this week-end. I told her no. In the first place, we've had two and.....nothing. They are a pain in the rear and I miss two days sewing. When I only get three days now missing two is just not happening. The same has been with the house across the street. One low ball offer is all there has been. Now the person who made it said she will extend the offer for a week. I said to tell her she can extend it for a month if she likes, not accepting it. We know she is approved for more than our asking price so......
The agent keeps saying the price is a good fair price.
Very annoying Karen..stick to your guns, if she wants it bad enough she will up her offer. Sorry you are still fighting your cold.
Wonder how Susan's surgery went..hope all went well and pain isn't too bad.
Good morning ..
Sorry to hear of your Aunt Hazels passing Betty. Today is the funeral of a cousin of Lornas in Bradford, Glenn was Dx with lung cancer just after Lorna's Dads funeral in May .. nice man, he was 80.
Been thinking about Susan .. know she is having discomfort ..
Pat, that plain sux, and, nothing worse than a narcissist ..
Karen, up here real estate is a 'sellers market', so, hang tuff.
Out for lunch with DH today, and some shopping ..
Stay well
~M~
I'm up too. Have been since about 3:45 am. Lots of activity in the woods last night.
Karen agree with M just hang tough. Things are slowing down here a bit for waterfront homes/cottages but they always do this time of year.
Hoping to use the chainsaw today and get some more saplings down. I need to get the overhang from the trees on the hydro line cut back. I won't do it as it would require a ladder. Here in Ontario you are responsible for the overhang on the hydro lines from you lot line to the house. If you don't keep things cut back then you have to pay for any work done to get your hydro back up and running.
Thinking of Susan. She'll be glad to get back home I am sure.
Dianne and her TH
Morning all, still fighting headache but I fight I shall..raining here, sky is low so likely why my head aches.
Sorry to hear about Lorna's cousin, am sure he put up a grave fight. Enjoy your outing with Gord..when do you next go for tests?
Dianne, hydro comes and cut the overgrowth near their wires, from the road to house I believe is underground, thankfully as I've a lot full of trees in that area. Be careful t there, big job for a little lady.
Don't they say 2nd day after surgery is the worse, here is hoping today isn't so bad for Susan and no falling like last time.
Deb how did you do at the dog show? And your daughter, hope she is ok.
Debbie, hope there is some improvement with headache today, if you've this weather likely not. Did you say paul is on vacation end of month?
Will phone June today and ask her not to come, pat couldn't come as her sister who is at the end because of cancer has to go to the doctors and Aline's hubby is in hospital, chest pains and likelupy gets to come home today..i will rest/play quietly by myself, only thing I must do is call and make appointment for hair cut..
Have garbage by the curb, coffee and toast waiting for me
Good morning. You ladies are up early.
Sorry to hear of Lorna's cousin passing. Sending our prayers and condolences.
Dianne, please be careful cutting those branches.
Are you going to make another quilt of valour lindakay seeing you did sush a good job and likely they will ask you to do another?
If they ask, I will. I really enjoyed doing that.
Look what I just saw on Facebook.
I believe this is Susans area?
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/southern-alberta-snowfall-1.2253568
Might make another just have on stand-by, Linda. I try to have some "in the wings".
LK yes that is Susan's area. Glad she didn't have to drive in to the hospital today in that wicked weather.
I'm in .... too muggy. I am drenched. Got quite a bit done and tidied up. Cleaned up my tools so think I will maybe cut the last of the lawn later this afternoon.
Need to go into the village if Duke's pills are ready. Am not very pleased with the service from the vet. Duke has been without meds for a few days now and has gone off on Diesel and Chaos twice . He has super strength when he goes off like that and he won't let go of whatever dog he has in his mouth. Plus he won't stop attacking. I have to reach in and pry him off of the other 2. Not a pretty sight. One fortunate thing is that is happens close by - heaven forbid I should get out of their sight Once he is on his pills for a few days he will be an entirely different dog.
Deb thinking of you and yours. How did the pups do ?
My cleaning lady is here - the house will be immaculate by noon. Woo hoo !!
Okay need to do something... maybe I will go out and cut the rest of the lawn now.
Dianne and her TH
Sure hope you get the pills soon Dianne.
My pups did well at the show. They were the babies in the classes, but two ended up in the ribbons in conformation. The one girl who didn't place in the conformation class was also entered in Rally obedience, and she got a qualifying score! Very pleased with how everyone did, but it was a long week, with the pups living primarily in a crate. On their short times out in the hotel room, they managed to shred two rolls of toilet paper, and every piece of paper they could find!
My daughter is doing OK. She's found another apartment that she likes, we are just waiting to hear if she is approved. I had to sign for her, because her income as a bartender/waitress depends a lot on tips, that aren't always recorded, and what was recorded wasn't high enough. The woman said with me a a guarantor, she should be fine. Still a worry until we hear for sure. It's in a nice area, and the apartment complex is very dog friendly. Plus, she's only a couple miles from me. I just worry, where ever she is because she gets home so late at night. She frequently closes at the sports bar she works at. She likes it there, and has been promised a promotion to manager within 6 months. She's currently an asst manager. She's dealing with things so well, I know I wouldn't manage as well as her!
LK ... the date in the Calgary link is from 2013 .. October ..
Crazy snow though, but, in Oct. not unheard of
Lorna and I are headed to her Moms at end October and I am a bit worried re weather by the lake.
Dianne, hope you got the meds for Duke .. scary that !!
Lunch was good .. took Lorna a fritter and some coffee, she was hard at cutting grass .. starting to take some beds out as well.
Deb .. congrats on the wins, and, bet of luck for your daughter and the apt.
Nothing from my doc yet .. :-) .. have an appointment in Nov .. am everso HAPPY !!
TTFN'\
~M~
M I noticed the date too and wondered. I think it was Washington State that got a huge dump of snow this weekend and all of these hurricanes it makes me wonder what we are in for this winter. Our nephew Pete is in the Dominican. He received an evacuation order and will be home late tonight.
I chuckled Deb about the pups . It is so hard for them being crated, strange place and sounds. I've stayed in several hotels when there have been dog shows in the area. I will gladly have canines next door to me than rowdy, drunk humans. Ana my last Samoyed loved being in a hotel room. She was quite ill the last time we stayed in one and needed to be walked every couple of hours. When I took her out 1 time there was a guy in the hall and he yelled "There's a bear out here!!"
M maybe your doc and my vet are in cahoots.
Dianne
Love your Sammy story, Dianne. I have a black boy, who is almost 3 now, but when he was about a year old and still quite fuzzy with long puppy coat, the grandson of the woman across the street from me, saw him in my front yard, and yelled to her "Hey Gramma, there's a bear across the street!" They had to come over and meet Klaus. He loved the attention, and, at times, when he's not all cleaned up for a show, still looks like a big hairy bear running around!
Sorry, I did not notice the date.
Woke us all up though Linda Kay!! LOL Poor Susan would be having a fit if she thought that was going on now!! Thanks for chuckle.
Morning all,
Read all the posts, fighting headache, will be back in a bit..
Feel better soon Betty, hugs.
