Robin Very Nice !!! Multitude of Colors ,,, OOOOH !!!

Oxdrift, Canada

Lovely photos all . Love all the daylily colours Robin. Ju, you were about 4C warmer than us. My last post was from Thunder Bay (about 4 hours east). We went away for 3 days and it got crazy hot but I managed to water heavily enough to keep all the pots alive while we were gone. Only 2 plants were a wee bit limp when we got home this afternoon.

I think they are going to rescue. At an hour and a half per feeding and they need 6 a day i can't get any work done. Cross your fingers for me?

Robin, I picked the little rottie male, but instead I think I am going to ask the rescue to name him Bronx, for my Bronx, who is still with me. and who he looks like. I really do have 5 dogs, and even 4 dogs is a lot.

Interestingly Bronx started refusing food a couple of weeks ago, but would take medicine, then he started refusing medicine. He is not itching, his lymph node swelling has gone way down, I'm thinking he is in remission. with no meds. I am pleasantly surprised.

Mipii what lovely lilies. If you ever divide them remember me .

Oxdrift, Canada

Major excitement in Oxdrift. This picture is not from my garden, My daughter Tennille just sent it to me (Kira and Reece's mom) she has been growing asclepias incarnata in her garden for years and this is her first monarch. Kira will be in 7th heaven. I bought seed and tried to grow asclepias before Tennille ever did but I couldn't get them to overwinter. I may have to try again

ok, pups should go to rescue tonight, I won't upload their glamour shots (nice back ground, toys... I took on my love seat) Anyway had a good butterfly day a couple of days ago when I got to go outside. and a bad bee day. I was in the midst of some bee stuff when the neighbor called about pups. the bees on this iron tank are supposed to be in that little yellow hive box. Frogs on lily pads. I got the shot because they were facing the other direction.
Going to be taking a LOT of cuttings from the passionflower, it has about covered my Texas sage, and the Native Plant society will need plants for the fall sale.

Cool on the first monarch Keith! I have swamp milkweed on the unmowed land around me, and asclepius tuberosa plus other butterfly plants here, and I have not seen a monarch yet. Just Queens and Giant swallowtails.

the little bit of Texas sage peeking out from under the passionflower. Red Salvia Greggi I think, my precious Desert Willow I spent $40 on last year that was in a pot during the hard freeze in December, I thought it was a goner, it lived and is blooming. giant swallowtail on Lantana Confetti

I am afraid to take seeds from my daylilies or iris, with all my bees helping out there is no telling what the results would be, so I just do divisions. How do you keep the daylily seeds true to variety?

Fort Worth, TX

Texas Sage, Echinacea, what kind of lily is this? can't remember, and my porch petunias.
