Best,Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new, come join in..
Karen, my brother suffers with flare up with his pancreatitis. He can't eat anything greasy or fried, and the only thing that helps him is watermelon and a very hot long bath.
Sorry to hear about Linda. Keeping her in our prayers.
Wow! That is an expensive camp!
Mmmmmm I could go with watermelon. I pretty much avoid greasy stuff, don't hardly eat much meat any more. Thinking it's the diabetes causing it.
Betty, I promise you I am OK, I've been to the hospital with this, the last two times I handled it on my own and got over it just as fast.
Morning all, calling for 81 today with thunderstorm later in the day, will do inside projects this morning while blackflies are at their worse then move on outside to get front gardens started. Nothing to exciting!
Haven't heard how Linda is feeling yet this morning, she did go home but was told to call the heart doc this morning.
Karen hope you are full of watermelon and doing ok.
Lindakay, did you keep the car today?
Barb, are you and Norm on your trip?
Best I get dressed, gave away or put in the garbage allmy old clothes, oops need some for gardening
Is it a long weekend for you this weekend?
Family are all doing their annual camping up in Tobermorey, leave early tomorrow..hoping whenthey drop off Sophie she and Ziggy will hit it off
Next week end is our Memorial day week end. 3 day week end.
No, I am staying home today!
Starting to be overcast, worked outside for a tad, now break time..should start a fire in the pit seeing as rain is a coming!
Been looking at Roadtrip 2017 to see cost if we go just 3 vs 4or try and find a 4th..Debbie, interested?
Betty - here's hoping your SIL Linda is ok & doing well.
You'd asked me on another thread if we'd gotten everything we needed to do, according to the landlord. Yes - yard is cleared/clean. We still have to build the deck(s) though. Small one for access out front, and large one in the back. Going to have upper & lower in back. Lower's already done & that's where all the other lumber is stored & stacked.
We didn't have to do anything else.
Glad our LK is okay and sending prayers for your friend Linda, Betty.....
Yes we went to Maine for a couple of days and then brought Norm's van back with us so he is now back to work.....I text him every two hours or so to remind him to take it easy... LOL
I can see how you would be nervous Barb, seems so quick to be back to work but I'm sure Norm will be very cautious! Was nice for you to get away, may you have more outings now the weather has improved.
I was all gong ho this morning, sat to have lunch and listen to a CNN, closed my eyes for but a sec and several hours later opened them.now wondering if it is too late in the day to get ambitious again.
Tragic news about the accident in NYC, prayers going out to those involved.
I heard that on the news Betty, so sad someone can get away with driving while intoxicated.
Young lady only 18 losing her life while enjoying NYC, her sister having been hit as well..hoping Thomas's who are critical make it..sad
Greg just brought Sophie for me to look after for the weekend, Ziggy is not sure what is going on..some hissing taking place. Sophie is used to having kitties here but Ziggy has never been close to a gong..we will see what happens
Good luck with them together.
Hope that thunderstorm doesn't hit hard, Betty!
Ziggy will settle down, eventually.
Figured out what ate my violas and pulled the flowers out of the containers - deer! We saw some deer tracks in the mud on the street in front of our place.....
Morning all, brrr
Shut off a/c, temps have dropped outside by at least 20 degrees, high of 57 today..gregMel and family along with about 40 more head to Tobermorey this morning for a weekend of camping..won't be the greatest of weekend, thunderstorms looming in the forecast tomorrow and Monday..they are young, likely don't mind!
Crazy, so muggy yesterday had a/c on all night, this morning I switched to heat...
Karen did you get your a/c fixed?? Feeling ok??
Deb, got your new wheels yet?
Susan, bet have got your bags packed, won't be long you will be on your way to see Mom.. have deer here but they don't seem to eat the plants, maybe they already ate and just strolling through. Lol
Set goals for myself this weekend..need to get the pond emptied and back up and running, there is a full day..on the not so nice days I'll complete a wedding quilt top..already have most of the blocks made, inserts are a tad more work, all those little flowers..if I get both done I'll feel I accomplished somethimg
Sophie is so beautiful. I love her haircut. And Ziggy is learning co-existence!!! They will do okay together....
Sophie is beautiful. I hope they all get along.
She is such a docile dog..had them come and take measurements, she said likely cost to have all done won't be done till Tuesday/Wednesday..all a waiting game, big sigh
Service master won't be far off when he said 2 months to completion
I'm feeling much better, I did dare to eat a bit of dinner last night and paid for it. I'll behave today.
AC did not get fixed, there is a leak and will have to wait until we get home. We do have some warranty left on the car. Will have a deductible but better than paying the whole shot.
We are heading back north tomorrow morning. Going to son's first for DGS confirmation on Sunday then heading home. Hoping our weather will be better by the time we get there.
Shaking my finger Karen, no more cheating even for a little bit. Let's hope your deductible isn't high but with all the travelling you do you sure need air. How many kids will be coming home with you?
Gd, Amelia& Lolli came down with us. Three great grands are coming home with us so we will be a full load the first leg to DS's house. GS is supposed to meet us at DS's. so his wife & kids will ride back up with him. From there to home we will only have the three greats. Unless Amelia wants to ride with the other kids with us which I fully expect.
Do I have you confused yet?
Big smile, omg you rwill have a house full..know you enjoy every minute of it.
Betty, send me the specifics on the trip....where to and when. All that. And ball park figure on funds. I will see what I can do if you need a 4th.
Didn't Sophie have a brother Ned? What happened to him?
I am so upset it is Friday as I do NOT want to deal with DH all weekend. AND....like Betty, the temps have dropped and quite a chill. Yesterday 85...today 52.
Waving and hugs to all....Prayers continue for LInda. She is such a sweetheart. Have had some great laughs with her on your outings over here!
Debbie
Quiet day today - Bob got a new computer & our tech guy brought it. However, although he wrote down his passwords, he changed them and didn't update the writing. Now he's trying to figure out what they might be. Good thing I have his email on my system too, so I opened his email and changed it to one he could remember.
No Betty, not packing yet - will only be gone a week, so packing is quickly done.
I'm going to get Bob's old system, and I have my passwords in my email folder, and I have no problem remembering that one. lol
Bob says he'll make the front deck while I'm away, so I don't have to climb in and out of the doorway without a set of steps. Him, with his long legs will be able to get in and out, easily. I'm cautioning him to be careful though - I won't be here to pick him up if he falls........
In the meantime, the den's ready to have stuff moved in - and build my desk & put up my wall-mounted sewing table, I hope?!?!
Take care ladies - hope you're sleeping well!
Safe travels Susan. Enjoy your visit with family.
I was wondering about Ned too Debbie. Not sure I want to hear an answer....
Safe travels for you too Karen. Are the kids good in the car? Mine would drive me nuts at times...
Thanks Barb - looking forward to the trip!!
Afternoon everyone,
Been outside since early morning, yes I overdid and yes will pay for it big time!!!
Work needs to be done but know it all can't be done in a day so calling it quits..needed thepond emptied so I can leave it dry a few days to make taking the gunk out, refill and get the water feature working..it's the biggest outdoor chore so once I'm done I'm on easy street..few froggies aren't happy with me lol
As for Ned he is as healthy as they come but he thinks he is a pup, excited and jumping all over, very high energy, Mel and Greg were worried with his size he might do me harm. A friend of Mel' s is looking after him and I have Sophie, she is as gentle as can be.
TimbrrMart was suppose to deliver paint, lumber and drywall today..still waiting. Maybe Tara thought better of it, wait till Tuesday to deliver so I don't get pain no end up painting the basement 😜
Glad you are home. That cake is beautiful.
What a beautiful cake!!! She is so talented Karen.
Morning from rainy Victoria Harbour...
Karen, she is truly an artist, what a design! Bet it tastes as good as it looks.
My grandfather was a baker..remember those fruit cake type wedding cakes, sooo sweet..one would keep the top layer to eat on the 1st anniversary?
Guess it's a sew sew day for me...
Might have been a couch day but I'd have to share
Amber alert so tv message takes over every 5 minutes for alert, a must though..2 year old girl taken by father!
Her cakes do taste as good as they look. She has developed her own recipes.
Praying they find that little girl!
Me too!!!
They didn't give update but alert is no longer being broadcasted so imagine they have.
Waiting for turnip to cook then turkey dinner for me
Pouring rain, poor campers
How is Linda doing?
Actually was just talking to her, she had company from the city this afternoon, they stayed 2 hrs and she said it really tired her out. Told her when that happens again she is to say sorry, just have to lay down' am sure anyone would understand.
Pouring rain, still, think the leaves and grass turned 2 shades of green darker..pretty even in the rain
