Just what you needed..Grrr for sure
Laying on the couch, sun shinning in on me, Kyle doing errands in Barrie so all well in my world
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chateith friends old& new, join us!
Betty - PLEASE get yourself looked after. I know you don't like the waits in hospitals, but take some knitting, or a book to read........ and get that "minor" concussion looked after please.
Pat - what are they auditing you for? Not being in the States, I'm wondering - is this a personal audit?
So happy the box finally arrived!! I hope the "snow" in the vase didn't get all over. A local women's shelter volunteer makes those as a fund raiser for them. She paints them and then they add the snow and tea light. I'm glad you like everything!
Today is my son's birthday, took him out for lunch, and, got talked in to babysitting tonight so he could go out. I love my granddaughter, but, it's so cold out, I really wish they would plan their outing another evening. Think I'll bring stuff to make rice crispie treats, that'll keep her busy for a while.
If you are subject to any federal or state monies to fund your employment then you are accountable for the funds you spend in the form of quality and quantity of service you provide. We are paid to look after the elderly and disabled, monitoring compliance to training and other requirements. Once a year or more, they send a team in to do a look over (audit) of a random number of files. If our work is not "good enough" then we can lose that contract.
I am required to complete and have signed a BUNCH of paperwork that informs the clients of their rights and responsibilities, lets them know their options and how to appeal if they do not feel they were treated fairly or disagree with my assessment.
There are standards I MUST meet, so many contacts a year asking if the hours assessed are meeting their needs. A full assessment once every year (we do 11 months), make visit into their home at least once a year (usually we do assessment IN their home to meet that requirement). If they have been hospitalized I am required to do a follow up within 5 days to determine if I need to reassess if their needs are changed and personal care hours need to be adjusted.
Lots of requirements for different circumstances and the percentage of compliance with those requirements can make or break us. There are remedial trainings that are mandatory if our agency does not perform up to standard.
I work hard, try to meet every requirement exactly and get all work in done in a timely manner. For that reason I don't sweat the audits too much but they are an inconvenience. You are at their beck and call to answer questions and make appropriate fixes if there is a problem, all that while trying to get your regular work done. Between holiday and off work with Ben's brain surgery, you can imagine I am scrabbling. With "we are moving him" "not today" "Maybe tomorrow" crap, I am reluctant to schedule an assessment and then have to cancel.
BTW... he tested positive for the virus and will not be accepted for now, no transfer.
We have a winter storm and it's snowing like crazy. Some reports say it won't stop until Monday night.
With a storm coming Pat it is good that Ben is staying put - virus or not. He is where he needs to be at this moment. I just wish you could have a bit of time to get some rest yourself. You need it so much.. Sending more prayers and gentle hugs to let you know we care......
Barb, are you OK weather wise? Seems like your area gets hit pretty hard. We didn't get but a dusting. it is bitter cold though.
Making a baby quilt for new one coming and had enough fabric left to make a small matching one for Amelia for her dolls.
Then I'll be making another QOV, got a call from newspaper article, A woman asking for one for her dad, also a WWII vet who will be 97 in April. I have enough blocks made for it just need to put top together and send off for quilting.
Drats Pat, so much going on in youtpryour life, sure hope today being Sunday you can mellow out, maybe your sister can come cheer you up..did you get any acknowledgement from those who received your doll kits?
Just got up,mgot bath amd back in bed, another day of taking it easy won't do me harm..I've a tutorial at 1pm to log into then I will see, like to go through all the quilt tops I have to finish, think 4-5 that mom cross stitched to get dimensions of backing, thoughts of backing color and thread needs so that when I do go to Buffalo I will be ready
Ohhh big news, Ziggy is a mouser..talk about a to do about 3 this morning
Good boy Ziggy!!!
YAY!!! ZIGGY!!
Morning everyone.
PAt, sorry to hear he can't be moved, but it does give you time to get some rest. Sending you lots of armwraps.
Yeah Ziggy.
Missy was a mouser, didn't take long if one got in that it was gone, think a newsletter went out when missy died because I could see signs the critter/critters was back so it pleases me to no end that Ziggy will be a hunter
What you all doing today?
Took spaghetti sauce out for supper, have rolls to bake
Ordered a few designs for my embroider machine, maybe I'll sit and see if I can download and if so what I can do with them
We have a winter storm and our church meeting was even canceled. I can only remember that happening once before! It's not snowing... it's shooting down fully assembled snowballs!
Calling for snow here as well, sure hope nothing like you are getting..perhaps tmr will be a snow day for you
Still in bed, think I've ice cream in the refrigerator calling my name
Ice cream called my name too Betty.
Sunny day but very cold. Weather Liars said snow storm coming. We lucked out last night and the snow by passed us.
Don't think anyone will try and spud a hole for ice fishing near me now. Someone was right at the end of our dock spudding yesterday ....... Diesel and Chaos ran down to check it out. I thought the 2 guys were going to faint on the spot. 230+ of dog running right at you must be quite the sight. Before I could get to 2/3 of the TH the guys were trying to make friends with them. The 1 guy wanted to shake my hand and Diesel did not take well to that.
Pat still holding you close to my heart. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for you and Ben.
So Judy are you trying out the sound of "Grandma" ? I am very excited for you all.
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
oh my...... 3am mousie call for Ziggy? Glad you have a hunter on your hands :)
Betty - are you still feeling woozy & dizzy? When I see your typing going "wonky" I worry.
Pat - glad you're not stressing about the audit cuz you have it all under control, but it's just one more thing on your plate. As Ben's staying put, you don't have that running around to do. How far away is he from you now?
Ice cream is calling my name too, and it's name is French Vanilla!
Still working on my stocking caps - have one done, and 2nd is half done.
We are getting the bitter cold now and had about 2 inches of snow yesterday afternoon. I hate seeing orm go off to work when it is this cold as some of his accounts are outside. He is well protected for the cold as that is what I give him for Christmas each year now.
I have half of the first page of this X-stitch done (2600 stitches) and I can see the beginnings of the cat's whiskers. This is going to be a long process....
1/2 of the first page... how many pages are there??
In good weather Ben is 30 minutes from me. Right now, not safe to travel at all if you can avoid it. I got a call from Boss last night saying our office would not open until 10 AM on Monday.
18 pages Pat!!!!! It will take a while!
Morning,
We got a sprinkle of snow, it's bitter cold out there. Brrrr
Winters aren't bad if you don't have to go out right?
Pat what time do you normally start? Was hoping you were going to say office closed for the day..an hour or so is better than nothing..drive safe.
Lindakay, you have weather you can be out gardening?
I think 1/2 page Barb is marvellous, you must have worked on it all day..you didn't respond to if this project of love is done in secretly
Still dizzy but much improved..actually went downstairs a few times this morning,, got dressed, hadn't done so since Friday, made my bed then thought likely only going to get back in it. Lol
Calling doc, office opens at 10
No gardening yet, it was 28 here yesterday morning. I have cut back all my roses and other plants. But they will all come back in a month or so when we warm up.
Glad you are calling the Dr. Betty.
Got an appointment for Jan 26th 4pm..big sigh
Receptionist did give me after hours #, if one is prompt at calling exactly at 11 you might get appt.
Managed to do so, have one at 5:30 tonight..oh happy days
Good to hear Betty.
Good morning and good day!
...So far my year is been frustrating and aggravating, all I could do is sigh any more.
I'll be ok, just have to stick to my only resolution and that is to just say NO...of course doing this I am the lazy one who's every day is a vacation!! This of course is revealed to me while we are out to a restaurant and therefore I am not to have any waterworks. The entire evening went to crap because I refuse to sell the crap in the basement-Just not going to happen, I didn't drag the junk home...I have shifted condensed and done all I will ever do to the crap. It takes a great deal of time clean up take the picture, figure out how much...go back and forth to all the replies and then box it up and take it to the post office. Nope, than I guess I am the laziest person alive, cause I just Aint going to do his projects!
I think the thing that really was upsetting is because I asked if he would like to work together to make a toy box for the baby with me.
You know what, I just get upset all over so just going to keep quiet...
You know, I'll not ask again..When I'm ready he could help or not, lol.
Oh Dianne to answer your question, oh yes, yes I am so ready...lol I've taken to humming songs I used to sing to Julia. A little giggle while I do daydream as to what Baby will call me. Mostly, I think GrandMaMa, since Julia still calls me Mama...
Well and then sometime I think about Grandma Babe. That was what we called my Grandma on dad side...Terrible to say; I don't even know her actual name.
I was named Babe since birth after her,and I do like the sound of Gramma Babe.
Now that my craft room is somewhat organized, I can begin thinking about making baby items, although it is still a bit early- no harm in dreaming about it.
Awe, The twins are getting so big! They sure are beautiful and yep, I still tear up when I see them.
Yikes Betty so glad you got an appointment for today! Better be safe and check it out. Gasp, send Ziggy the mighty mouser over here!
So you know, I've been trying to move into my Craft room last April, when Breenie moved, finally making some good progress. Big smile here are some pictures!
Still have walls to shelf and decorate. OMG, can you believe all of this was crammed into that little corner of the great room?
DG crashed on me........ just as I was looking at your pics, Judy! It's good now though!
Judy - good for you, on saying "NO"! Sometimes you just have to pretend to be lazy and refuse to do stuff :-)
Grandmama, or Grandma Babe - interesting choice! It would be easy enough to find out your grandma's name - just do an internet search for your grandfather's name & see who he was married to - now That would be interesting to know!
Love your craft room!
Betty - SO glad you have an earlier appointment - wow, today, instead of over 2 weeks from now? That's great :-)
Linda Kay - already working on your garden? That's a big "wow" from me!
Looked outside, and we have a fresh dump of snow, so no gardening in my near future!
Awe, Judy, sorry to hear someone does not like they way you refuse to jump at every little demand. I agree, I would say no too. Stay strong.
You are doing great with your craft room.
Susan, no I am not working in my garden, the freezing temps the past 2 week ends took care of what was blooming, so I cut everything back.
My son taught me a lovely little saying that amuses me "Not my monkey, not my circus". Makes me smile every time I think of it. I'm getting better at saying no.
Looks like I will be working on my "asking for help" skills. Not something I have EVER been good at but it's got to happen I guess.
Ben has been cleared by hospital MD (after testing for virus, he did have it but cleared up) for transfer to Sunnyside SNF (Skilled nursing facility) but the roads are too bad. The ambulance company its not transferring anyone today (or yesterday) and we MIGHT get a tentative time for tomorrow providing the roads are better.
Judy, big arm wraps, makes a lots to say 'no go' but sometimes it's the only thing one can say and my dear lazy you are not..can see lots of organizing went into those areas, what a mess it makes when we are cleaning but look now you will know where everything is and are ready to start a baby item, bet it's a quilt.
I like grandma babe but what a lot for a baby to remember and say..maybe just 'babe'
Think a lot of us would have a hard time with grandma/ great grandma's name..grandma was Alice, maher mom, have it marked down somewhere
That is cold for you isn't it Lindakay? You would be wearing a jacket for sure.
Always paperwork Susan..annoying isn't it.
Have a headache, mnot moving around too much but I'm glad I've got it, nothing like going to doctor when you are ok
Dianne, I can just visualize the terrified look of those ice fisherman, not easy to run with winter clothing..sure was a worry when the repairman told you about the leak, mega dangerous if not possibly fatal..maybe put on your calendar several dates to do a check up. Glad the storm passed you by...June came in this aft to check up on me and bring me knitting needles that her hubby Alex made for me, #20's, was nice having company..so quiet the past week...
Kyle dropped in last night for a tad, dropped off the free motion folk for the janome 6600 but I'm almost sure it's the long one.
Had spaghetti and now I've eaten I so would like to take a nap, might do
Went to after hours clinic, doc sent me to emerge, wants me to have a scan grrr
Sending a prayer Betty that all is well.
Meant to add that the cat is not a surprise. It would take me years to complete if I could only work on it when Norm was not around!!!!

I know how aggravating it is to get medical help Betty, but I'm sure glad you did.
Just had scan, likely a few hours before they get results..it's a sister (Barrie) hospital that reads them
Greg was here, I just kicked him out
Closing for the night, running out of iPad juice
Blood on the brain
Waiting to hear from neurosurgeon
Will try and post when doc get info from neurosurgeon wether it's not bad enough to keep me or keep me and do something
Glad you went to have things checked out. Keeping you in our prayers for an easy solution!
I'm glad you went Betty, I really thought they should have done a CAT scan when you fell. Maybe I am overly cautious with all of Ben's stuff right now.
At 1 pm the hospital called to say, Sunnyside said to bring him & AMR (ambulance transport company) is sending unit from Yakima to get him. I head to hospital. 2 hours later Yakima ambulance show up with rickety gurney, NO way can they take Ben.
No problem they say, a Tri-cities unit will bring bariatric gurney and they can be here in 20 minutes. (Mind you we are IN Tri-Cities so why they sent a Yakima unit to begin with is beyond me.)
2 hours later they update me and say, oops another 1 hour, but don't worry, he's being transported tonight!
A unit shows up, AGAIN without bariatric gurney! By this time I am boiling mad, I go out to the nurses station and ask them how this is possible? They assure me when they called AMR they advised them of Ben's size and were assured no problem. AMR farts around longer and it's too late and Sunnyside will not take him tonight. They assure me they can transport tomorrow.
I tell AMR I am NOT holding my breath, the reason they couldn't transport Sunday, or earlier today, was because of roads and since they expect another storm, I'm not betting on it.
AMR comes back in, they have phoned the manager, and assure me that they will transport tomorrow morning at 9.30AM. I told them great, I am not sure that I will come in, call me when you get to Sunnyside and anything Sunnyside needs I will sign by fax.
The ONLY thing competent any of them did today was go ahead and get the CAT scan done today. (Only because I called Dr Steele and the hospital and explained that Dr Steele wanted it 3 weeks after surgery and that would be Wednesday but Ben is discharging TODAY. (she NEVER expected him to be stuck in the hospital this long, all because they couldn't find a facility, then couldn't transport!)
For 10 days I have been in a holding pattern, not scheduling assessments at work. Taking time off from work because "he's scheduled to leave" etc.
I'm going to put fresh sheets on my bed and go to bed. I am calling in tomorrow to work whether I go to the hospital or not.
Goodness, they sure are giving you the run around.
I hope you get some sleep.
Will read your post in the a.m Pat
Last post for the night
I'm home, I will go for scans for the next 2-3 days or more to make sure nothing is getting worse.
I'm to lift nothing, no shovelling for sure, nothing that takes energy..can do little things that are not demanding but if what I experienced on the weekend returns I'm to go right back to emerge..nice to be home
So it's rest/rest/rest
I can do it right
Thanks for your concern
I'm So glad you went in.
Now just do it! REST REST REST We so love you Betty and know what you are like. Don't make me get a new passport or better yet, don't make me call Debbie or Dianne. Please listen this time...... Hugs and hugs and hugs - gentle ones of course.
Morning
I will behave, promise
Ringing in my head is aggravating, headache , a haze in my head not bad but then I'm not up yet
Blizzard happening right now..
Morning everyone. Glad to hear you are home Betty.
Barb, if Debbie or Dianne is busy, we can always call one of her sons.
Betty, please listen to the Dr.
