Those for sure Dianne but most other businesses open.

My sister Marie has volunteered to go with me tomorrow, (one of my sons too). She wanted another witness present to hear what the hospital said. My DSIL is a wonderful woman but when it's her son (my nephew) that is going to be shown the door, Marie she wants to be sure it's not just his word against mine when he tells his mother what happened.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm sure we will all be praying for you and waiting with baited breathe for the outcome.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I simply cannot see a nephew being given guardianship over a wife. He would have to take you to court and prove you incompetent. I seriously doubt he would want to go to court and have his dirty laundry exposed. Betting this is not his first scrape with illegal activities.

Verona, ON

Bet you didn't get much sleep last night Pat. I am so glad you have someone joining you at the meeting. We are all here supporting you.

Susan I am so glad you got the electric hooked up in the addition. Ouch on the dry socket.

Lots of fireworks again last night. Duke put himself in his crate while they lasted. By the sounds coming from that house they were celebrating New Year's Eve all over.

Enjoy your day ladies.

So anxious to hear Pat's update..just sick to my stomach having her going through the trauma of an extremely ill hubby then to have to go through this..I too bet it's not his first brush with the law..wonder what his mom thinks of her sonny boy?

Quite a few hours difference so likely we will not hear till mid afternoon if Pat is up to it..what an emotional turmoil..

It's sunshine here Dianne, hope you are having the same..finding many are having friend/dfamily New Years Day celebrations vs New Year's Eve.

Can't for the life of me find my set of keys for the car..hope they weren't in my pocket when I was shovelling and fell out, or when packing all the totes I misplaced them in it..even looked in the refrigerator..one never knows strange places..must call Kyle, he and Brianna were here he other night, maybe he picked them up in error

Thank goodness for the 2nd set..just for car, doesn't have house or post office key

Victoria Harbour, ON

Keep checking in for Pat

Laying on the couch, sunshine beaming through, almost feel like I'm at a beach in Florida..can you get a tan with window between you and the sun lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Found my keys, on top of refrigerator. Grrr

Think it would be 10:20am in Washington right?
Meeting would just be starting

Prayers coming your way Pat

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I think there is 3 hours difference between you and Pat.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Should hear something soon then, means it's 11 in her neck of the woods

Victoria Harbour, ON

Starting to get worried, aren't you? Don't know how many times I've checked for post..took a hot bath, waiting for turnip and carrots to cook

Greg forgot to tell Melanie I was cooking supper, she is almost done cooking early supper so I guess it's just I..that is ok I love leftover turkey, won't have to cook all week

Victoria Harbour, ON

Checking in

Greg and Mel and not sure who else are on their way..Mel said they'd have hers tomorrow night..so not as many left overs as I thought..

Met with the MD, she had called the meeting primary to explain to Derek & SO that taking Ben home was NOT an option, he needs way more care than what can be provided outside of skilled facility.
Got up this morning to 6 inches more snow and managed to 4wheel drive into the hospital. Met with MD, I discussed the financial exploitation of my husband by Derek and asked for MD's opinion of Ben's recovery prognosis. Derek showed up late with his SO bimbo.
I explained to him that HE was NOT welcome here or home, and to kindly go away. He tried to say he had been at the house EVERY day to check on him, it was just short of screaming match with Derek sobbing that he loved Ben & Ben trusted him.... and that Ben had indicated he wanted for Derek to take care of him but hesitated about wanting to go home with ME!
MD sent them out, I told staff to never let them in again.
Discovered today that Ben put the deposit down on the car that Derek was buying from my son, again with "don't tell Pat"
I am contacting attorney tomorrow when the office is open. I can't take it anymore. I am done.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

You must take action Pat. He is a scumbag who just wants to see how much more he can get out of Ben. Hugs dear friend.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

The daughters are going to file the restraining order against Derek. I will deal with the rest. I talked to Derek's mom, she is going to get the mailing address so we can complete the restraining order.

Victoria Harbour, ON

So glad you've got the hospital staff on alert Pat, surely he is not brazen enough to try and come back..what a sleeve bag..you will sleep better tonight knowing you've dealt with the situation.

Noah/Jesse, Kyle and Brianna just left, Greg and Mel decided to stay and keep me company, both sound asleep

Pat - incredible...Derek really has some gall - He is not to be believed!

Happy Anniversary, LK!

We heard a 5 min private fireworks the community center.
sorry Duke was so upset by the ones at your neighbourhood.

I found that Drs & dentists are closed today, as well as other offices I tried to reach - y'know, the ones that say they're open, but don't answer their phones?!?! Oh well, the pharmacy was open, as was the grocery store :-)

Bob's really doing a great job on the insulation, and now rearranging the inside of the rest of our home so it's more functional

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Yesterday DS Kevin helped me take up the carpet in living room & hall. The wood needs to be stained and finished, protected but it's beautiful. My hands are really sore from using the pliers over and over to pull up staples.
Physical labor is always helpful to me when I'm having a hard time dealing with emotional stuff.
Invited oldest son & wife to dinner, our favorite comfort food. Manicotti!
Headed to bed, I'm going back to work tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat will you refinish the floors yourself, I so like the old wood floors, on my to do list for 2017 is replacing the floors in living room, dining room and hallway..they have so many replicas these days.

Wonderful Derek helped you amd comforting acing family over,,you sure need them..

You mentioned that you spoke to Ben's Doctor re prognosis?

Had hoped you would have a few more days

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

CHRISTMAS is officially put away, garbage at roadside, Having my first cup of coffee and toast

Light rain and mild, didn't mind being outside at all..

Judith and Rick left Fort Myers yesterday, not sure of their plans, hope it's straight homeward bound, but of course that is because they are bringing the embroidery part of my machine with them..anxiously waiting lol

Girls should be here soon, now that everything is back in order I will take on a project..Drats found a few more this morning when I was searching for something..best I don't go into the reaches of closets and shelving

What do you all have planned today!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I have had my coffee, now I need to get a hot shower, it helps loosen up all this crud in my chest.

Funny how we find things when we are not looking!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Everything laundered and ready for upstairs to be put to rights. No rush though not expecting any more company for some time.
Want to start today on quilt for coming great Gabriella, I have a couple weeks to get it done. Then to start on another QOV for WWII veteran, will need it in April.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Have you been to doctors for more meds Lindakay?

Pat how are you doing today?

Girls just left, nice catching up on everyone's Christmas/New Year..

So damp, body aching like crazy, don't have anywhere to go so think a hot bath will help much like you Lindakay..

I'm downloading the programs I need for embroidery support and patterns..step one of getting ready lol
Pat and I talked about labels to go on the 'My Canada' quilts so will go online and see what I can find.

Other than that, lazy day for me
Don't see anyone posting so you must all be busy/busy

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

All of DG has been quiet.
I have meds just need to give them time to work. I have a follow up appointment next week.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Making turkey soup lindakay wish I lived closer..
Mom still has her cold, going on 4-5 weeks

Guess everyone is trying to recoup after a busy holiday

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Been busy with a piece of cross stitch. I am doing a piece for Norm of his beloved coon cat Tigger. The pattern is 18 pages long!!! Finished piece will be 18" X 28". Will try to get a photo of the cover. Of course it didn't help that I read the instructions wrong and started it on a piece of fabric that was too small!!!! Thank heaven I had not gone too far before I realized my error. He is in no hurry for it so I will work on it each day. Also have a quilt to finish for my bed.... The blue and white one I did is really too big so I have put it away for my granddaughter's High school graduation in June....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Got a call from knee surgeon's office - as I thought I had dry socket in my mouth, they cancelled my surgery for Jan 13th, and as I'm looking after it with antibiotics and will see a dentist, they found someone to swap with me, and surgery will be Jan 23rd instead.
Went to dentist in next town and she said I don't have dry socket in mouth, but asked about other teeth. I have to talk to surgeon and see if they're ok with some decay (first dentist was, and signed off on me being ok to have surgery).
I'm just going to believe that the day is Jan 23, 2017
It gives Bob time to do more, inside. He's been doing a lot to straight things around so it's not so cluttered for me, returning from surgery.

I just couldn't afford to be off work longer. There is a facility willing to take Ben after they confirm the insurance approval. I need to get some packing done for him & go to bed. I'm exhausted.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

*Hugs* Pat - you're in my heart & prayers. Tough time for you, but the decision had to be made to make sure that Ben is comfortable & taken care of.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Glad you have found a place Pat. Hope insurance doesn't foul it up. I'm keeping you and your family in my daily prayers with special ones for Ben...
A ten day postponement isn't bad Susan. It gives your body that much more time to be ready for the surgery.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Pat. so glad you found a place. Praying the insurance approves it for you!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone,

Susan, glad someone was willing to switch with you, nice that they even tried to accommodate you.

Pat, is this facility a temporary accommodation, like Barb, hoping insurance doesn't screw things up. Sure hope the sleep fairy found you.

Barb, the coon cat piece will be gorgeous and norm will love it..project done with love for sure, how can it not be when it's done with love...not a pre printed cross stitch fabric, that makes it ten times more challenging. Granddaughter will to the quilt, did you decide to make same but smaller?

Debbie, any results?

Already been to town, needed a few staples amd as they are calling for a blizzard here over next few days thought I'd best go and not fight the weather..seems many thought the same..everyone was in a chatty mood, what should have taken me 10 minutes took me an hour.

Hoping Judith and Rick put in the hours to make it home before this weather mass sets in. Spoke to mom and she is still hacking so guess no Buffalo this weekend but things can change.

Making soup with turkey carcass, will freeze for lunches.

Need a coffee and toast then head downstairs, time finish one of my unfinished projects

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Did I miss a picture of stitchery of Coon kitty??

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Pat sure hope you are able to get Ben placed in a good facility. You must be worn to a frazzle.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Barb will try and post photo Pat, tremendous amount of work in these sticking pieces.. Is the hospital where Ben is close to your home? Next update hope you say he is more coherent.

Doing appliqué on next "my Canada quilt" the one I'm donating..stormy here so it's a good easy project that fills in time

Got to say homemade turkey soup is the best..yummy yummy in tummy! Lol

Sitting here feeling the house rattle the wind is horrible! Storm coming they say for tonight til Saturday!

Betty the docs did call from Cleveland. "I have good news and bad news. The good news is the scan was clear.....thats the bad news too because I don't know whats going on now. Something is off and we are not finding answers." Sigh Let me know he thought I had a mini stroke...or signs of MS starting. Second doctor to say MS..he also thinks Lupus or autoimmune. Until something shifts to show in blood work....keep taking meds and wait. I do have to start PT he said for my back and legs. Grrrrrr. Better be in a pool.

So...back to drawing board. Tomorrow is the eye doctor as I can't see much at all and using old contact to replace lost one is not helping. Then next week is breast mammogram and also back to Primary to go over all of this and get set with nutritionist within next weeks. Good grief.

Pat, my thoughts are with you. Your story with your nephew reminds me what I went through with my step father. His niece did the SAME thing....but the docs released him to her care. After mom passed....she dumped him at his house alone and took all his back accounts into her control. Glad you have control on this....stick to your guns and get the help you need.

Susan get healthy so you can get this surgery over. I agree 10 days is more time to prepare and you will do much better.

I am still puttering around putting little bits and pieces of the holidays away. Left some snowmen out that were moms because...it is still snow season. Why not!

Barb, I hear you are getting this snow too. Be safe!!! Watch from the window and stay home. Can't wait to see your kitty picture.

Waving to all....I didn't eat yet so need a small something. Egg sandwich perhaps.

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debbie, so sorry you are going through all these test and not getting answers. If it is lupus, it is very hard to diagnose. My Mom went through testing for years.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, can't see outside for blizzard conditions..

How very frustrating, it's the wait and see that is infuriating when you know something is terribly wrong..hugs. Thank goodness you have insurance coverage....

Ann dropped in for a visit, went home with a container of soup and turkey dinner

Think it's time for hot bath and dinner as well

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Betty - how are Ann and the twins? They must be really getting big now. Almost five years old????
I will try to get a photo of the cat pattern. It is 225 stitches high by 337 stitches wide. Over 65,000 stitches so it will keep me busy.
It seems ironic that Cleveland Clinic cannot get a diagnosis for you Debbie. Their reputation is better than that.... I am doing PT now for my back and legs too. More for my legs than back but the muscles are all interrelated. I have no stamina in them at all....
My phone is charging and when it is finished, I will try to get a photo of the cat.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope this comes out good.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My goodness the pic looks like PHOTO of cat, not stitchery! FABULOUS!

Today was frustrating and terrifying... I called the supplemental insurance to see if there was some kind of hold up to approve Ben into facility. They refused to talk to me as they did not have consent but urged me to have Ben call since there was something important. I tried to explain he had just had brain surgery 12/21. I called and got a Social worker at the hospital to put Ben on phone and give verbal permission.
WEll..... it seems SOMEBODY made a mistake and put in BEN's account that his SON has phoned and told them he died 9/29. So they CANCELLED his insurance supplement. I was given ONE day only on his verbal consent and was told to pay up $808 TODAY to get it reinstated. I only had one debit card on me so I'll have to transfer funds tomorrow to cover my house payment that will come out in a few days.
Ben has approval for transfer tomorrow at 2 PM, the facility is almost an hour away, the best they could do.
I am totally wore out from all the emotion. I need to get Ben's clothes labeled for transport tomorrow etc. When I got home and looked at the bank statements, sure enough, only 1 policy premium was being taken out, not all.
