Nothing worse than waiting on a phone call. I hope he calls you soon.
Can't wait to see your first embroidery piece.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chateith friends old& new, join us!
That came out really nice! I hope you get your phone call soon!
Label looks great.
Don't know if it's because it's 6x8 and a lot of lettering that it puckers..will try another stabilizer??
Just called again, she said Doctor didn't get time to look at any of the reports, they didn't even take lunch..she will call me before closing
MORE stabilizer!
I dont like no further update from Betty.
Spent day at breast center. Lots of waiting. All ok....go back in April for recheck
Sorry - had a lot of catching up to do.
oh my BETTY!! I am SO glad you went to the Dr & then Emerg. No news is good news, from Dr re: results? I sure hope so, but not hearing from you - well, we'd all like to know what's going on.
GLAD that Ben's finally in Sunnyside. What a run-around! Yeah, what's up with Yakima and a non-proper gurney? Not very good communication skills, for sure.
Tues was a day of Forms, and Wed went to Calgary all day. They've scheduled me for a colonoscopy on Jan 19th (before knee surgery). They agree with me that my "positive FIT" is likely from when my body was getting rid of the clots in my lungs, but want to make sure anyway
Today's another day of forms, forms, forms.... Apparently I forgot to fill in & send a particular set of forms, so sent them today. Recipient can't read/print image files, so I'm trying to scan then copy them into Word and then send again. The Case Worker is going to contact churches in our area to help with finances in the meantime.
My Disability Tax Credit still hasn't gone through (Dr has sent it in, and I'm hoping 4th times a charm?) since Feb 5, 2016. There's a Carbon Tax Credit that I should have received ($150), but because my DTC hasn't gotten approved, my CTC has been applied to what I "owe" (even though the gov't says once the DTC has been approved what I "owe" will be wiped clear, and I will get any monies owed to me given to me. In the meantime, they will take everything).
Tuesday was a major cold day, with blowing snow. Did go to the Craft Group, but got a ride from Adrianna - her truck is higher than my little car and wouldn't get stuck in the drifts.
Water pipes keep freezing, but hoping this Chinook wind will kick in and kick tail of the cold temps we've been getting since beginning of Dec.
Well, back to the forms. Need to get them processed asap..... waiting for one from our Pharmacist, showing my med summary for 2016.
Morning all,
Waiting for 9 am but almost positive doc isn't in Friday's..we will see
I'm fine as long as I'm not rip using around then I get a bit of pressure over the eyes..hate the noise in my head though, aggravating lol
That's Pat, I will try a stronger stabilizer and I saw where they use a titch of spray adhesive to put the cotton to stabilizer so will also try that..guess it's a matter of learning what works right..can't be perfect of 1st try, well 1st try on this machine. How is Ben doing? Will you get to drive over for a visit this weekend weather permitting.
Suzanne, forms are the pitz, shouldn't be hard to get the form from pharmacy as they simply key in your name and print.
Debbie, you've results already..great news..hopefully your tests will be behind you for now and you can stay off the roads..
They were calling for bad weather, I just told Sharon all was clear and here you go, something is brewing out there.
Susan, hang in there, I know what you mean about the forms. I get so discouraged with the forms (although yours are Canadian and totally unfamiliar to me).... getting Ben approved for SS several years ago was NOTHING compared to getting his student loans forgiven! Those people were AWFUL, rude and obnoxious. Took us at least 4 times for the student loans, SS approval was ONCE without an attorney!
And they work for you right? Don't think these department staff know that..
Big problems right now, Barrie hospital having major issues, much like midland and doctors office with this virus going round..can't keep up so I will have to be patient..
Well called dr's office, they are not open Friday's..not sure if after hours clinic is, I will call at 11 as that is the only time you can call for appt.if I can get ones then likely they would have access to my files? Or they could call hospital, best I can do,,NOT sitting in emerge for 6 -8 hrs.if not longer
I hope you got through to the Dr.
Hoping no news is good news Betty. Have you seen the neurosurgeon yet ? Things move fast once they are involved.
Diesel set the vet's waiting room on its ear today. It was time for he and Duke to have their blood tested for Lymes again. One could hear a collective gasp when he and I walked in. I assured everyone he was friendly but those with small dogs scooped them up in their arms. Finally 1 lady came over and gave Dies a pet then put her mini doxie down. Diesel began to lick its face and then let the little guy lick his ears. Duke I whisk in and out as he gets so stressed. We have the routine down pat for Duke.
Sharon I need your sleep angels to do a drive by please.
I'll keep checking in for a report for our Betty.
Dianne and her TH
Did NOT hear from him Dianne, went to foodland then next door as it was opening day for the new bakery/variety store and cookery..
Can see I will not be cooking much, they will have fresh meals every day..today I bought chicken Parmesan .. just putting it into oven..am sure there is enough for 2 meals, will have my bath while it's a cooking.
Dianne, people fret when they see big dogs and usually they are the more timid ones..have to take Ziggy at 9:30 tmr to have her claws cut..he is doing a number on my furniture Grrr
just that little bit of Movement brought back headache and ringing big timeso going to have a bath while my meal is cooking , eat then bedtime.
Was thinking I might try to put trim/ruffles on Caleb's play outfit but thinking it might have to wait till tomorrow, needs to be done by Tuesday latest for the photo shoot. Seeing Jeff has to drive from the city to pick it up and you never know what weather is like I'll try my best for tomorrow. EWas thinking I have fabric glue, just might glue it, at least it would hold for photo shoot

Mmmmm chicken Parm looks yummy. Wish we had a place like that next door.
Dianne - I fear big dogs. I've had friendly big dogs jump up on me and knock me down, so it's not necessarily an issue of bad/angry dogs.
Betty - still haven't heard from neurosurgeon? Again, I say "no news is good news". I'm sure if there was something pressingly wrong, they'd be on the phone right smart with you. My ears are ringing - are yours?
Weather has gotten nicer - we're 14F now, instead of the -8F we were the other day, so no freezing pipes. It was a sunny day out, so went for a walk in between filling / faxing forms and on the phone to many peoples.
Hopefully the last of the forms will go out on Monday - will take a trip to Olds.
When we go in on the 19th for my procedure, I'll have to get my disability card updated with the Dr.
Then, on the 23rd is my 1st knee replacement. Actually looking forward to working on it afterwards. I'm a tough old bird, so I'm sure it will be fine, and I'll just "suck it up, princess" re: pain.
Susan, I understand your desire to get this surgery over with and healing!
I got GREAT news today!! All the reading, calling of free legal aid and finally got to talk to a financial eligibility person, looks like Ben will qualify for Medicaid so after his Medicare runs out, if he needs to stay longer the state will pay for it!!! We will lose all but $59 of his SS income but I think we can manage without it. Sure a LOT better than trying to find a way to come up with over $8,000 per MONTH for a Skilled Nursing facility! I think I smiled my first smile in 3 weeks today!
(((Pat))) I will smile with you.
HOORAY!!! so glad to hear this, Pat!!!
That's what it is all about Pat. The benefits going to those who earned them.....I'm so happy for you.
Well said Barb !
Sending positive thoughts and prayers Pat to you, Ben and all of his medical team.

Glad to hear he got approved.
Morning everyone.
Hurrah, what great news, it's confirmed for sure? No wonder you are smiling, it's something to be doing the happy dance to.
Susan, I too can understand why you are looking forward to the operation.,by summer you will be out gardening.
I took Ziggy to the vets, had his ails cut, advantage on and a new toy..he is enjoying the toy as it has catnip. Lol
Hand sewing trim on Caleb's coat, pants are done, shortly I will head downstairs and get the ruffles on the shirt and it's done.
A friend dropped in on her way to town, she was going to bring me flowers but said a package a fat quarters would make me happier..how my friends know me. Lol
It's Sooo spring looking, I should have asked where she purchased it as they may have yardage I can buy..now I'm thinking what I can make with it..maybe that Mundo (?) bag??? What do you think Karen..will take photo next time I'm diwnstairs.
Got an email this morning from the company I paid for membership last Sunday..said a work box was shipped yesterday..now to see how long it takes to get here
Other than than a quiet day..not sure it's today Jeff is picking up Caleb's outfit and I habpve Greg the leather recliner that he and Jeff bought me,,just too big for me, uncomfortable, headrest pushes my head out, hope he comes today as well
When I'm feeling better I'll go buy a woman's recliner.
Be nice to have company for awhile
Company is always a welcome thing here too. I sometimes forget how much time I spend alone now. Doesn't bother me to be alone - just surprised.
According to the palliative care doctor, I am now fully qualified as homebound as anywhere I go, I need assistance. Thanks to Norm, I don't think of myself that way. I can still drive but can't do anything once I get to wherever I go. It's like making all right hand turns!!! LOLOL I can still go for a drive enough to get out and see the world and get some fresh air. That is all I need.
No, it's not a for sure thing, and I have LOTS of work to do before I can make the actual application but I can make it work. I need ALL my ducks in a row including the true value of each vehicle,I need to get all kinds of proof on the house in Othello to demonstrate how little equity I have in it. Until Ben runs out of Medicare SNF benefits (100 days), he can still receive his SS monthly income. When he transfers to Medicaid, he will lose that income, all but $57.28 per month. It's a balancing act to keep his SS income as long as possible so I can pay off the bills but still get the application approved in time to beat the 100 days.
I have to have our non-exempt assets (our house and 1 car) demonstrated to be under $56,726, and they are, I just have to prove it. For instance when I take out money out of savings to pay off CC debit, I need to SHOW it clearly that it paid off debt, not "hid money" to just make it LOOK like we qualified.
I feel so much better, we CAN make this work. Ben had made such a mess of our finances and we had had a discussion about this less than a month before he was hospitalized. it is obvious that Ben cannot handle the finances ever again. I should have taken over years ago, and CERTAINLY a year ago but he wanted to do it, I resented having to take on that job when working full time. At the very least I should have been more closely monitoring and asking for the documents etc, not relying on his verbal reports. If I had followed up closely, I might have noticed more quickly his mental decline or at least prevented some of the financial mess he created. Time to put my big girl panties on and deal with it.
I was really looking forward to seeing Ben at the SNF today but it's snowing LIKE CRAZY again!! I have Monday and Tuesday off... I don't WANT to wait but it might be the smart thing to do. Darn it.
I'm about the same Barb. I can drive ut not too inclined to. Happy to stay in and sew except for presentations.
I'm afraid our world is going upside down again. DGS & wife are unable to pay rent, I knew that going in but they assured me they could. Almost as soon as she was pregnant she went on light duty at work. She posts the complaint of the day and right around Thanksgiving she quit work. Now they tried telling me she was switching to "on call" but right away the union refunded her dues. That tells me she quit. She's now due in about three weeks, then she will have maternity leave, I know GS doesn't make enough for rent and other bills. They applied for assistance but were denied because he makes too much for that. It just kills me to think we have to re arrange our place again to move them back in here but there is no where else for them to go. His mom in TN won't have them and neither will her aunt. If it was just them I'd not worry about it but there is Amelia and new baby coming. I know Amelia isn't being fed properly, partly because she dictates to Steph what she will eat and gets away with it, Also partly because Steph will just give her a hot dog every day rather than be the mom. I guess we will give them the room we had redone to be ours. I'm certainly NOT giving up my sewing area. Guess we just need to Git R Done, I'm sick of agonizing over it.
Sorry, my post sat for a while and I should have responded earlier.
YES, I should tell my friends, FAT quarters, no flowers please! LOL
Getting a recliner that FITS is important. I found ONE style that JC Penny's carries that is made shorter in the leg. I have bought it 2 different times YEARS apart! It has LOTS of different upholstery fabric to choose from Our disabled and elderly clients will sometimes qualify for a lift chair but most of them a year later aren't using it because it's "Not comfortable!"
Driving is one of the uncertainties. I don't know if Ben will ever get out of the SNF let alone drive again. Not driving would be a HUGE deal for Ben. One of the reasons. that although that truck of his is a money pit and I hate it, I have tried to just suck it up. He loves that truck, it FITS him. It's much easier for him to get in and out of than anything else. It opens wider at the door and the distance between the seat and steering wheel, position of door is different than other vehicles. At least he has been able to finally made me understand his LOVE for that old beatup money pit beast.
Barb, life is different when you are "home bound" but I'm happy to hear Norm helps make your life easier and more enjoyable, less restricted. He is such a Keeper!
Well you certainly have done your homework Pat and now comes time to gather the documentaion you need..you have several months to gather it so you can take a deep breathe. Best not put yourself into danger, wait to see Ben on one of your days off..are you able to converse over the telephone? Think you've had your big girl panties on for quite awhile..
Barb, you surround yourself with projects you enjoy doing amd norm is a darling, you hit pay dirt when you found him..perhaps when nicer weather comes you will be able to sit out more..too bad fabric shops don't have take out like timmies..well I guess they do, on line shopping right. Lol hugs
Oh Karen, so not your responsibility, not sure I could do it but your love for Amelia well just got to do it right? Now another, shaking my head.. They were renting from you right? Could they not move in with his parents? Hate to hear of this added stress in your life, know it's bound with her disposition to pull you down.
Melanie just dropped in, going for a few things and will drop in again.
Photo of the fabrics I received..of course floral to replace flowers..love the combination
Fun combination for sure, looks like bigger than fat quarters or are my eyes deceiving me?
Karen, too bad you can't take Amelia and tell them to go to the shelter. I know I would do the same thing as you, but you shouldn't be put in that spot.
She has no parents, his mother is in TN and wouldn't help them before when they lost their house. His dad(my son) is downstate. he and his wife have an already too small house and three adopted kids now teens. I really knew it wasn't going to work with them in the rental but I let them anyhow. We need the income from it so we really can't just leave them over there. We'll manage, we did before. I just don't plan on worrying about meals like I did before.
Karen, you are providing a roof. You don't need to provide the groceries, chef and maid service!
Oh I charge them, they are both big eaters. It's just her lazy that makes me so crazy. Both 31 and I have to tell them to clean up their area, I'm not doing it. Every once in a while, I'll tell them someone is coming to look at the house and then they clean up their mess. Oh darn they cancelled.
Hey, if that is what it takes to keep your sanity, GO FOR IT!
Just popped in to say Hi
Glad for the good news, sad that families can be so disruptive & dysfunctional. Happy for visitors and things that make your day.
Hope those that need to hunker down because of weather are doing so.
Love to everyone - I think of you all the time, even those who don't realize it.
Morning all
Sun is trying to shine, calling for januarythaw this week, that will help send off January, always feel we are on the countdown to spring once January's gone.
Seems so many I know have that flu, one thing about staying housebound is less germs to contend with..of course I did get the flu shot this year, first time in forever so here is hoping I don't get it..sounds nasty
Early morning, already made 3 decisions
1. Not getting dressed today
2. Gotta get dressed today
3. Need a coffee
So many here have the flu. My youngest son Andy was at work the other day, and started feeling like crap, went to urgent care, and he tested positive for flu. So he is home for a week.
Seems it last several weeks then someone else in family gets it and then you get it back again..
Got dressed, coffee in hand and heading diwnstairs, more member Caleb saying pants had to be mended
That sounds like a pretty virulent virus!!
Where is everyone???
