It's a cold one 32 but feels like 16 with that howling wind..
Slept like a baby, my travelling buds tired me out 🤗
Was too funny when I got home and opened car door Christmas tunes were playing..I put a wreath on back deck door, it's a motion sensor unit on the hanger, guess with the wind and movement of trees it likely was playing all day yesterday. Lol
Having my coffee and by then it will be light enough to go to unload the car, how we fit everything in is beyond me.
Turned the Xmas tree on, love my new tree, love it rotating and lights flickering, with wind howling it's just so cozy.
Now that the Christmas shopping trip and DG workshop is behind me I will focus on my Christmas which will be the 11th. As long as I've finished quilting the other 3 tree skirts and the My Canada quilt and 8 lanterns lol I will be in good shape, these is shopping for last minute things and $$$. Hard to believe it's so close..
You are all so close to Thanksgiving, having family over, travelling to family??
Debbie, get to go out now and get the pressie you gave me, shall I open now or wait till the 11th AGAIN was this my Santa Warren Christmas box?
Off to bring in 1st load.

Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friend old/new, join us!
Good morning. Sounds like you had a great trip!
I will get pictures of my box from Betty. I can't believe she mailed it Saturday, and it arrived here Sunday. Our mailman never delivers on Sunday!
Mailed it Friday night at 5:30 pm Lindakay, record time for sure. As always I'm so impressed with your postal system
Started to snow, been putting off going outside to get another load but should get out there now, starting to snow
Woeked on getting a tree shirt together is morning and am 1/2 done quilting it..if I get it finished by tonight I will be happy..looking to see how much stain I have so I can do all the lanterns, if I got them stained I would really be happy.
What are you all yo to today.
Today is my "day off" so many errands to run! So nice to have a work week day off so I can get some things DONE!
Short week for you Pat, you have a mega long weekend
Unpacked the pressie I got from Debbie and Paul, not part of Santa exchange but had to show you how spoilt I was.
Have the lights on the tree, fireplace on, going to finish cup of hot chocolate and muffin I just baked, only thing that would make me more cozy is if I take a hot bath using the bottle of dr. teals Epson salt foaming bath that was in Debbie's box so off I go to run the tub then likely hand sew binding on 2nd tree skirt..thrilled I got the 2nd one done today but disappointed that I'm too tired to stain some wood..that's life
oooooooooh and aaaaaaaaah - lovely presents!!
Betty - you always have a lovely tree!!
Also glad you're helping the US economy lol
Bob cleared out 50% of the "tool shed clutter" and took it out to the shed ehere it belongs so our place is 50% clearer of clutter. He also brought in some Christmas decoration boxes up. I told him I wouldn't decorate until the place had room to do so! Bless his heart! It's not "there" yet, but getting there!!! I'm a happier camper!!
It's inspiring me to put some other stuff put away and organize our home :-)
My gifts I got from Betty. A beautiful rocks of fire, and an awesome Christmas panel. Now I need to decide what to make out of it.
This page has a video of the rocks of fire.
I love this rocks of fire. Thanks so much Betty.
http://graniterocksoffire.com/how-to-fill-lamp.html
That looks awesome! And the wick will never run down? That's pretty near :-)
Oh, and that Christmas panel - how beautiful :-D
Lindakay, love the front side of the rock..what a time of it, Sharon grabbed your rock instead of hers, Linda went to city to get yours as we didn't want to trade rocks. Lol
That is awfully nice, Betty
And the table setting is so pretty!!
Off for my foot care clinic today (once a month here)
Really going well on my Christmas disclothsn Never thought I'd knit with cotton, but as there wasn't any Christmas yarn last yea, this is what I ended up with. These take a long time, but they are pretty. You have to purl 3 tog, twice, so it's tight going
Betty, what kind of oil do I need to get?
Any kind of oil lamp oil..parra fin oil is good, think Walmart or hardware would have one. I would have sent some via post office but it's a no no, guess they are cautious.
Just had a nap, need to go to town but I look outside and I just want to snuggle under a blanket it feels so cold
I vote snuggle unless you HAVE to go!
Braved the elements Pat, winds had died down so wasn't as bad as I thought, ate pizza and worked on projects...must have gotten a surge of energy and now thinking of all I have to do and can't sleep.
I have the sweetest hubby! While I was at our crafting group, he was pulling out the Christmas outdoor lights, and checking them. When I got home he'd laid them out on the lawn & beginning of driveway, and they were lit. What a lovely way to come home in the dark - strings of lights on our trees, the ground and up some of our home.
He set them that way to test, and to give me something pretty to come home to.
Tomorrow he's going to set them up "properly", but knew that seeing them light up would please me :-D
Ahhh, hope you have him the biggest hug and kiss..
So sweet Susan. He is a keeper for sure.....
Love the lamp LK. Great gift Betty.
Getting ready for Thanksgiving. We go to our daughter's house and all I have to do this year is bake a cake from my kids childhood. She is doing a "remember" theme this year. So everyone has been asked to bring something from their (Barb and Norm's) childhood and to bring something from their (Stacy's) childhood. My cake is from both!!!! Mine and hers.....
Had the monitor leads placed yesterday and I will be wired until Thursday morning. I can remove the leads and take my shower before we go out (I'm thankful!) as no shower until then.
Norm, Stacy and I had an hour and a half meeting yesterday with a palliative care doctor. She is awesome.... I learned a lot about what services are available to me as this COPD progresses. I have noticed it getting worse over this last year and my heart doctor suggested the meeting. There are so many things I can do and one of the things she has sent is a referral for PT services at home. I have little strength left in my legs and she thinks the PT would help me. I walk very little unless I am at home. We shall see!!!
Wishing all my friends here a most wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have so much to be grateful about. Sending you all hugs and love.
Barb
thanks for explaining Barb, worried about you..what a great idea re memories of the past, mind if I steal it??
Was getting a monitor for blood pressure tomorrow at11:30 and had to bring it back Friday but I've a funeral to attend Friday so will call and cancel..best I put that on my list of today's 'to do's'
Feel I've accomplished much this past week, can almost breathe a sigh of relief...
Thanks Barb about the rock, should have bought myself one, hmm perhaps next craft show
Susan, that must have been a great pleasure to come home to.
Barb, I hope the home therapy helps you out. Sorry to hear you are getting weaker.
I lost you all. Debbie directed to the right spot.
Sunny but cold and icy. I think that by Jan/Feb we will think the temp is balmy.
Judy your Santa sleigh is out. I had to move it up though as Duke was too interested in it. You would have laughed at me this morning. I needed to go out and get some wood in... couldn't find my work gloves (Chaos moved them to what was a much better spot for him to reach) so I put on the gloves you sent me in your Santa Warren box. They brightened up my morning.
How thoughtful of Bob Susan. Yep he's a keeper.
Later.....
Dianne
Glad you found us Dianne as the Santa Warren gift exchange wouldn't mean as much, so hugs for finding us...gifts starting to arrive, always exciting to see what is in everyone's box.
As I sit here looking over at the chair I see the lovely 'friends are the best presents' pillow from Debbie, Mrs moose from Liz and the Christmas swap block quilt that many quilters here helped out on..brings joy into the home, as I go from room to room many of you are with me..
Much like you Dianne they have special meaning, thanks to Judy you got to stay warm with gloves from Judy..
My box went out this morning, should arrive by Monday!
How thrilling that the packages are arriving!! I'm excited to see each
& every one!!!!!!!!
Had a lovely chat with my mom & sister Ruth today. Ruth tries to call when she visits once a week.
Happy Thanksgiving to you my American friends..time to reflect and be thankful..I'm thankful for you all! Are you going out to family and friends or are you hosting..tell us about your day.
Couldn't sleep, went downstairs at 1:30am, put Sharon's Christmas gift together as she might come for a day of crafting tomorrow, no this morning..did text her and told her to call before coming as its been snowing and blowing.
Painted 5 of 9 lanterns..will paint the remaining 4 later..just had a hot bath, climbed back into bed, maybe I can get a few hours sleep
Wishing everyone a most Happy Thanksgiving. Going to our daughter's and I can't wait to see Brandon (home from college in Ohio). I have so much to be thankful for this year. A new home, wonderful kids and grands, a fantastic medical team that will keep me going for many years to come......and most of all , the most wonderful husband any woman could possibly have. And no, I will not share him........LOL
That is not fair Barb, a hubby who went out early morning for coffee and donuts so we would have a treat when we woke is special indeed and yes I want you to share.indeed you have much to be great fun for. Enjoy your day
Morning everyone.
We are having Thanksgiving at home, just Todd and I. Having ham and all the trimmings.
I am so thankful for all my family and online friends here at DG!
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Travel safe and enjoy your families
Denpbbie, mouth watering, with the way your postal service delivers you could have shipped me a plate to celebrate with you. Lol
If it weren't so icy out I'd go to moms restaurant and order a turkey dinner so I could eat with you..
happy thanksgiving to all.
Love that basket!
Same to you Liz..Kenny cooking for you? 😉
Thanks lindakay
Haven't been as productive this morning
talking to Linda, she has been in bed since Monday, sick sick sick
Then Suzanne as well, mboth say their body feels as though it was run over by Mack truck, maybe that is why I'm hurting so. Hmm
Then Sharon called, she is going to dog show 1st week in December, driving 24 hrs, 4 days at dog show then 24 hr drive back, mom and her had a tiff, mom wants to go, Sharon told her no way, too long a drive for such a little time..told her to fly and she could stay with her but not unless she has health insurance..war is on, Sharon wanted to warn me as she said I wouldn't take her with me either...shaking my head
Think I will try going downstairs again..
Hung our 5am wreath project lol
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!! I was going to make a turkey in honour of your day, but Bob says no, not for just the two of us. We have one in the freezer, and two more coming in the delivery next Tues, the 28th with our Santa's Choice hamper we bought. There will be a ham as well, and all will go in the freezer :-)
I got up for a couple of hours but was able to go back to sleep and SLEEP IN! YES!!! I am hoping for low key but productive restful LONG weekend. I have 5 whole days off as we are closed Thursday and Friday, Mondays are my normal day off (4 10 hour shifts with Mondays off).
Did some online shopping for Christmas and I'm almost done. I would like to find more for Best friend but she is difficult! She has sufficient money to buy anything she wants for herself. I should have started a needle work project of some sort for her but sure can't now, too late!
Betty, your wooden box filled with nature products is just beautiful! You always do such beautiful work.
I'm looking forward to decorating the Christmas trees at work. One in the break room, one in Conference room, another in my office. And yes, we actually have more than that! One of the projects I hope to get done this week is to make some storage shelf units for our storage closets at work. I will tear apart pallets and use the free wood. I won't have to ask the boss for money that way and it will be more user friendly and organized. Stuff is just heaped in there right now in 2 closets. makes finding anything difficult.
I "lost" quite a bit of the stuff I bought to decorate with that was stored in the big office closet. I don't know if I just never found it, stuffed in wrong boxes or whether it left with employees that no longer work there. Oh well.... Over the past year what I have purchased I have stored in my own office now. Eliminates some of those issues.
Had Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's place. My kids both made it, which was really nice. Had an early dinner as they both had other obligations with in-laws. I was going to put up my Christmas tree when I got home, but I really need to do a thorough cleaning, wash drapes, etc, before I bring out all the Christmas stuff.
Heading to Omaha tomorrow, for dog shows over the weekend.
Betty, is Sharon going to the big shows in Orlando in Dec? My girl Bonnie will be there with her handler. Not at the big Royal Canin show on the weekend, but the shows leading up to it.
Need to get to bed early tonight. I need to get up early, I have to bathe a dog before I leave in the morning!
Deb
Drats, cousin Gary's wife funeral tomorrow afternoon and now Sharon just called to let me know my cousin Doreen's husband was killed this morning driving transport.
He was driving a fuel truck and another semi hit him and his truck went up in flames.
She will be devastated, her only son at 18 going to college was killed in car accident and now her hubby..
So sad
