Time for a new room everyone.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks Kathy.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Don't for get to click on the eye to watch the thread!!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Eye clicked :-)

Thanks for the new room LK

LIGHT snow outside .. won't shovel til tomorrow morning (I think) . fluffy stuff .. dogs are like Dianne's .. LUVIN IT .. OH to be a dawgy !!!
I flopped down last year in the snow to make an angel, SHUT UP .. was nice while I was down there, but, OH, getting up !!

Hope everyone is having a great day !!!

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my. I could not imagine flopping down, much less getting back up.

Verona, ON

Thanks for the new room LK.

Finally got the boys to come inside - I had to wave a treat or 2 before they would come. I could see that the temps were rising and the snow was vanishing. I just wasn't up to give all 3 of them a bath.

I did my weekly check on the house/cottages I watch in the winter. I took just Duke with me ... he was so excited and was extremely well behaved. Interesting dynamic with the boys. Chaos is seeking Diesel out to play. It used to be Duke. The Rottis still let Duke play with them but Duke wants everyone's toys which can cause a problem When Duke does that I take all the toys - actually they are just different sized balls and ropes. When I give them back Diesel collects them all and then either lays on them or puts as many as he can in his mouth. One of the boys' fav ball is a Kong that our Mary sent them in the Santa Warren Exchange.
Hopefully M you won't have to shovel too much.

What's the count LK?

Enjoy the evening everyone.
Dianne and her TH

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I made some split pea & ham soup today - nice and thick - time to go have it - yummmm

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

AKKKKKKKKKKKKKkkk ... ended up shovelling last evening, and, thought that would be it .. NOT!
Woke up to about 5" of kinda heavy snow, and, 3 dogs wanting OUT, but, not willing to bolt out the back door until SOMEONE (me) shovelled for them!
So .. between DH and myself, the patio is done as are the dog runs .. and, the 3 pups are very happy ..
ME, not so much .. groan .. but, I'll get by, going to have to as we'll be shovelling every 2 hours to keep ahead of it .. it's going to snow for the next 24 hours ..
Karen, have you gotten any snow ..??

Susan, I have a meaty hambone in the freezer, might just as well get out the crockpot and 'let'er rip' :-)

Best grab a coffee .. Lorna is up and getting ready to get out and plough .. just waiting for some light.

PS

Anyone on my FBook page, take a look at Betty's completed 'Wedding Anniversary Quilt' for her uncle and Aunt .. 75 years married !
It turned out beautifully :-)
I would steal the pic to post, but, would rather Betty did ..

OH.. Barb .. the Compass Quilt is gorgeous !!

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

"M" can we be friends on Facebook? I don't know how to find you......
The compass is for a coworker of Norm's. I still need to quilt it and really want to do it by hand. Here's hoping the hands will allow it!!! LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Dianne, 16 more sleeps.

I saw that quilt, and it is beautiful.

Betty, please post your quilt here.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I have 15 blocks done and another 12 to put together. Some I will send in, some for ours on Cubits and some for what I want to make. I want to present to my "DGS" who did two tours and I want it to have blocks made by me in it.

My LQS had a big sale yesterday 25% off everything in the store plus goody bags. Of course I couldn't miss it.

No new snow right no "M" in fact today is supposed to be in the low 40s. I think we'll be reverting to our normal Brrrrr soon though.

Betty's quilt was so beautiful, glad I got to see it finished and presented. Can you imagine her aunt still able to wear her gown?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Can you imagine her uncle NOT being able to wear his wedding finery? (that's not unusual - and men don't keep theirs anyway. Women are more sentimental, usually).
It was lovely to see!
Bob wasn't fussy about the split pea and ham soup...... oh well, left overs for me!!! lol
He says "no church today, because we don't have the funds". Church isn't a place where we 'have to have a penny to pay"...........!!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Barb .. pretty sure you are on my FBook ..
Would be better if Betty posted the pic on here though .. you will have yer sox knocked off .. ALL of you quilt such beautiful quilts .. a God given gift you should be SO proud of ..

We are still hard at the snow clearing, I might take some pics, but, it's just snow .. LOTS of it .. and, still falling .. hope it stays away from you Karen ..

Kind of worried re Sharon .. hope all is well with her and Vern and the furries ..

Waving HI . off to fix supper and then put the pea soup together ..

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I am finally friends with Betty so I got to see the stunning quilt. What I found truly amazing was the fact that they had been married and together so long!!!! They must have married when they were three!!!!!

Meant to add that I thank you "M" for the kind words about our quilts.

I'm glad to see Betty posting on Facebook - we should get her over to the Sweet Interruptions / Sisters of the Heart thread there........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, been an exhausting week, taking a few minutes to drop in with a 'hi'

Sure hope you get some good news "m" re Gord, wow, thinking of another trip to Toronto can't please either of you..how if Lorna's dad doing?

Karen, wonderful that you are feeling better, sure has been a long haul for you

Susan, not good news at all re your tenants, shaking my head..

Dianne, you must have gotten all the snow, my front lawn is actually bare..sad to say there are still idiots trying to ride the lakes, one young man mfrom town trying to rescue idiots on the bay lost his life Friday..sad

As for Facebook, rarely go on, posted the quilt as some family members who couldn't go wanted to see them..

Joyce they are the couple we visited when you were here and yes they are still spending the day holding hands

Marilyn, don't worry about me. Just up to my ears taking care of Vern and getting all the supplies my garden helpers need to get started on the front landscape.

I have been having problems with my legs. A weird burning pain. in both legs and my pain is usually only i my right leg. Three Motrin and two pain pills knocks the pain out but then I get slumpy.

Vern and I have been watching the Super Bowl kick off show. They introduced all of the MVP for the last 49 years. Oh my, brought back so many fun memories. I worked in a building and Jimmy the Greek, big time legal sports bookie, was on the 2nd floor. I got to know his secretary, then I got to know everyone including Jimmy. So I was pulled into the liking of football. Vern and I just discussed how we knew everyone from the first 20 years very well and then slowly we did not recognize some of the name and faces. But the first 20 years, ball players did not move around a lot.

We are having hot dogs for half time. I stopped by a Jewish deli and pick up a small container of sauerkraut and 2 hugh dill pickles.

We are going to be in the mid 70s all next week. A lot of plants showing their heads Hope the weather does not decide to back up to colder weather.

The town is packed for Super bowl. And I am trying to watch the commercials. Just got back from walking the dogs and Vern has some snacks so I can sit for awhile.

Linda, I a glad you days are flying by. Marilyn, praying for Gord's eye to get better. How is your back doing. Susan, I am o sorry about your results with your tenants. I would classify these people as the tenants from hell.

Barb, loved the start of that quilt. I am will Marilyn, I am amazed how talented and patient your guys are. I quilt and paint in my garden. I was walking by this afternoon and saw a spot in the front landscape that totally needs to be changed. And it will be an easy fix. I do a lo of backing u and seeing my landscape from different angles. I need a drone.

Marilyn, no snow moving here.

I cannot imagine being married that long. Vern and I will be married 42 years on the 17th. I thought it was amazing she still had the dress and it still fit.

My daughter and her husband just dropped by. I will return.

Waiving Hi...
Geesh Dianne, bummer about the wooden slip and slide...Hope your healing pretty fast.

Barbara, Barbara!! wow, great job with the compass quilt top.

Betty, I am just smiling away... Wonderful quilt for a wonderful couple your Aunt and Uncle are. She is so beautiful in her wedding dress. Your busy as ever, glad to see your getting projects finished.

Oh ma'an Deb! Never realized how awfully muddy your yard gets. holymudcakes! My gosh...Havent seen anything like that since Sturgis! Glad the weather is at least better for you.

ARMWRAPS DEBBIE

M, oh gosh, hope you take some me time! so cute, yep I would have role over and holler for hel[p, hahaha.

Everyones watching the game, not me...just don't care, shrug.

So I've been a busy bee! I actually finished my quilt top, so very excited it turned out beautiful! Have to admit Breenie helped me choose the material. We had so much fun. Tomorrow will go for the batting and lace for Julia's Veil. We are recycling mine.

I've been dress shopping, how fun but oh my gosh, Never try on something you can not buy! LOL, well at least I got a silhouette I enjoy. still looking.
The wedding list is finally ready, so tomorrow I go to the printer. Everything is prepared, so I am glad about that.

Bahahamama party is this weekend, so keeping things in pretty good order. looks like a nice turn out.
Plus, I ld like to go to Joannes and get the batting. I kind of can't wait to see the finished quilt, and trim for Julia's veil.
Need to drop off photos at walgreens...

Here is my quilt top, part of my veiling.

Love your quilt top, beautiful colors.

Mornin :-)

Great to hear from you Sharon :-)
I still don't know who won the FB game, the Broncos scoring that first field goal within the first 10 minutes kinda put a damper on it ..
Was VERY impressed with Lady Gaga's singing of the National anthem!
Lorna's Dad and I have a $5. bet .. I chose the Panthers ..
That sauerkraut sounds delish!!!..

Judy .. lovely pics .. the quilt is earthy, and, the veil is going to be perfect .. you are sure busy.

Betty, thanks for sharing the pics of the quilt, and, the couple :-)

Just came in from shovelling .. temps have dropped significantly, and, so far we have had about 10"+ of snow ! .. Gordon is not supposed to shovel because of his eye .. he still does though :-(
I snuck out at 5:45 .. it's not a 100% job, but, I can 'fancy it up', when we get home from the docs .. fingers crossed on that !!

Best run

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Quilt is gorgeous Judy. You should be very proud of it. I'm sure the veil will be beautiful too.....
Off to do the machine = BBL~~~~~~

Beautiful quilt, Judy. I love the colors. The veil is lovely, too, I'm sure that will be stunning when you're finished.

The mud is pretty much dried up, supposed to have snow today, not much, maybe an inch. Trying to keep things halfway clean. Public works is installing a new water meter here today, and I hate letting strangers in the house when it's messy. At least they only need to go in the basement.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Finished the top to the Antique Charm quilt....Need to plan better for a flange!!!

Oh man Barb, I hate when that happens. The flange does look good though, it's a nice touch.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

That is just gorgeous, Barb. I love the fabrics!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

And, once again, I am blown away by the craftWOMANSship of the quilt .. I am totally in awe of how much patience and, SMARTS, you have to have to do one of these beauties .. I am simply NOT a math whiz ...
KUDOS to all of you ..

Well, the appointment went a bit better :-) .. he still had to have a needle into the eye (makes me shiver) .. the eye is frozen (drops) before the needle deal, I leave the room .. can't stand to watch it, but, Gord just shrugs and is happy there is something that can be done .. the doc is pleased with todays visit, so .. that's a plus ..we go again Thursday, early, Ugggggggggggg ..
I'm always up early anyway, but, not ready to hit the road by 7am .. this morning the 22minute commute turned into about 40 minutes, the roads were slick and snowy ..

Deb .. I hear ya re 'service people' coming in ..
When our gas stove needed a new burner, the fella pulled out the stove .. OMG .. I about died on the spot .. D U S T ... and .. dog kibble under it .. he let me sweep it up .. now I do it once a month !!

Have pea soup on in the slow cooker (since last night) .. Lorna should be done ploughing soon, and we can have dinner ..

Many thanks for thoughts and prayers ..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well,, I went to the family physician for my pre op, and she told me I need to see a cardiologist, and that may not happen for another 2 weeks, which means my surgery will have to be re scheduled. I told her that this should have been scheduled before hand, and I was not happy. She just shrugged he shoulders.
Not a happy camper right now!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

AKkkkkkkkkkkkk .. HUGS LK ... remember me! Same thing, anaesthetist found a heart murmur .. had to be tested, but, happily my surgery was not rebooked, AND, no one has seen my test (Echocardiogram) .. IT VANISHED SOMEWHERE ..
So sorry to hear this news ..

I went out and took some pics .. have no idea how they will turn out as it is SO white outside ..

Mostly all of the driveway, one of them, and the snowbanks, I think there might be a truck or 2 as well :-)

The snow is so pretty! I'm a bit jealous, we haven't had a decent snowfall yet this year!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Deb, we didn't really have a GOOD snowfall until mid January..
NOW, it won't STOP !!!

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a lot of snow.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I am blown away by all the work (and yes, craftWOMANship) that goes into the beauties I see here.
My brain is so frazzled that I'm trying to figure out a block that I've made before and now 1 1/2 years later is trying to do again. Baby steps, but I will do it, and once I've done one, I'll be able to do more..... I'm doing them for a friend's lap quilt
It's a maple leaf. I have pieces cut, it's putting them together .........

(((LK))) Man that burns my a** so I can just imagine how you feel. The first surgery for my pit tumour was cancelled and the neurosurgeon's sect said she would call back on Thurs with a new day. So when she didn't call I called her only to get a message saying the office was closed for I think it was 2 weeks as they were on vacation. I just about blew my top.Ended up with another surgeon I had never met but I think I lucked out and got the better doc.

Susan I really like the maple leaf pattern.

Need to organize the boys so I can try and go to bed earlier than midnight tonight. I'm looking for Sharon's sleep angels to come for a visit.
Dianne and her TH

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I have the tops of the heart, and the stem of the leaf done....... now to try the rest...... :-/

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks everyone. I called the surgeon this afternoon, and they said as long as I saw the cardiologist as late as the day before, I would be OK. They will call me tomorrow with a name so I will call and get an appointment ASAP.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Good Kathy, hope they can get you in on time.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hooray - that's good news, LK - they Should accommodate you so you don't have to delay another procedure, just because an assistant didn't do her job. I'm glad you stood up for yourself :-)
