My MIL's name was Nora, she is adorable and yes, how proud Alice would have been, big sigh
Ohh excited to see what was in your box Kathy!
"m" everything melting here but will take some time as we got mega snow and yet arrive hardly anything..
You say it's heading south, not stopping before the border is it?
Roads are clear, might just take a ride into town and pick up few groceries..should habpve done it Sunday but weather wasn't the best

I'm in San Diego working to get my Mexican visa taken care of. All is we3ll but slow. Don't worry I'm fine will catch up later.
hugs, katie
I started making the rows and bag the way I thought it should be, and it's working out, but then I realized on the 2nd handle is where it says to take the stitches off the holder....... anyway, it's working out my way, so it's all good.
My aunt and her daughter my cousin were both Nora. Not sure if that's where they got the name because they both passed away years ago (Cousin Nora passed away 10 years ago, well before Chris & Heather met & married and Auntie Nora passed away 25 or more years ago).
Thanks for checking in Katie. Seems most government offices move slow, especially around the holidays.
I was wondering how Katie was doing .. good to hear all is well :-)
Restless day here .. my nephew is with NATO in Belgium (Brussels) .. needless to say we are all feeling a bit nervous about that .. his wife lives there with him .. their 2 children are both in university in Ottawa ..
Remaining positive (trying) .. Brussels had been pretty much shut down for 4 days ..
Susan .. so .. it seems you have figured out the knitting ...
Anyone heard from Debbie ?
Sharon, how was the Bridal shower breakfast?
I guess I'll boodle along ..early family docs apt for Gord in the morning .. getting tired of getting up and hittin the pavement before 8am !
TOODLES
~M~
Lovely baby, Susan.
Glad Gord is doing well.
Snow is pretty, but you sure can keep it.
I see posts from Debbie on Facebook. A picture here and there.
My neice , who now has fully grown kids, had a breakfast wedding shower. It was really nice.
I had the most fun today when I presented a QOV to Mr. Gahn a WWII vet who served in the Philippines. I could have talked with him all day as he had the most interesting stories. Not just about the war but his life in general. As soon as his wife was wheeled next to him, he took her hand and never let it go. She is very frail. One daughter and I showed the quilt and then put it over both their laps. I usually wrap it around the vet but this seemed more appropriate.
Karen, that is an awesome picture.
Hope Gord doesn't hurt too much after PT. Rest and take care of you too, M ((HUGS))
Glad you are okay Katie. Hope things get resolved quickly.
Betty, sounds like the Workshop day was a success.
Congrats to your niece Susan. Little Miss Nora is a cutie. Your sister would be overjoyed.
Karen (((HUGS))) to you for such a wonderfully heart warming job. Mr and Mrs Gahn seem to be such a loving couple. So glad you got the opportunity to hear about his life and see them together.
LK, so glad you got a real night's sleep for a change.
Sharon, hope all is okay with you and Vern. How was the breakfast shower?
Barb, sounds like you had a grand time making the Snow Lady. I can just picture Norm and you shopping the aisles together. Glad you got to visit with your son.
Hope things are going well with you son and daughter in law Thunder. Am sure all you have done to make the little ones feel more comfortable since the fire have helped.
Judy, How is Jake? Hope all gets resolved with his vehicle. Give him my best and Jordan says Hey to you all.
Hope you all stay safe and warm.
Just got in from town, not as busy as I thought it would be with Black Friday sales but that's ok for me. Got all I wanted done, likely no need to go to town until. Friday or Saturday.
Glad Katie posted, nice to know she is ok.
We did have. Great day Jean, they all went home with a pressie's as well as I'll not see them at Christmas so I'm sure they were pleased with their day and the weather cooperated.
Karen what a wonderful photo, bet it touched his heart to get one..they remind me if aunt Exilda and uncle Louis, joy puce met them..their whole day is sitting watching 50's programming and holding hands..Karen, mailed snowman parts this afternoon.
You know the only time it saddens me because I'm alone is when I see older people holding hands, makes me sad that I was never to do that..😪
Thunder, how are you making out with all the projects you are doing? Kids settling in to their new home?
Hugs "M" like thunder and all who have family in these places it must take every bit of strength to get through each day..prayers for them and their families.
Susan, don't usually hear the name Nora much anymore..think mil was the only one I knew with that name.
Going to call it a night and get comfy in bed!
LOL our tenants are digging themselves in deeper and deeper..........
They emailed last night again asking where the documents have been left in their porch (maybe on or around the garbage or recycle bins?) oh brother.......
Today they went down to Residential Tenancy and claimed they didn't receive them.
HOWEVER, on Saturday we called the person who witnessed Bob leaving them, and he also said that Marcel told him he found them the next day. RT asked us to bring in the Affidavit Of Serving and we also brought in the 2 emails - one asking where the documents were, and the other from our neighbour saying that he witnessed the leaving of the documents (he actually saw them) and that Marcel told him he found them.
Y'see........ Marcel is under the mistaken notion that he has to be served personally - he doesn't. It can be in a conspicuous spot where he can't miss them. He didn't miss them, he's just trying to push our buttons.
This is making it look worse for Marcel & Carolyn, not better as they hoped. We have a statement from Alain......
Not to mention the statement from the City Of Calgary re: gas smell, and removal of our property....... we brought that in today too. We have SUCH a solid case against them..........
It was an absolute beautiful day here today but cold weather is moving in from the North.
Breakfast bridal shower was delightful. And the MIL to be was delightful. She drove in from San Diego area and brought her youngest, 16, year old daughter. Daughter was delightful also. They had a waffle bar with fruit and a lemon curd and then an egg, hash brown, cheese casserole that would probably kill you if you ate it more than once a year. Some one else gave the shower but used my daughter's home. She had it decorated beautifully. Hannah, the bride to be, looks so happy. She was only here for one day. Had to fly home for a dress fitting.
We have ben watching a program on the weather channel about earth. Thirty minutes and about rain, temperatures and things like that. Very well done. And you will not believe what you do not know.
I also watch Blacklist. I watch it in the bedroom because Vern cannot keep up with it so I record and watch while I am making the bed. I have been watching for several months. They finally come to a climax and then they say, stay with us, final 3 episodes start Jan. 7th. I just about shot the TV.
Susan, I am just holding my breath that everything goes as well as you think it is going to. I have never had much luck in court going up against tenants. I now use a property management firm to handle my rentals. And I am down to two homes. One is in Sun City an we were going to move into it when we retired. It is about 1600 sq ft. We would kill each other in that. You new niece is adorable.
Katie, glad to hear from you.
Marilyn, the way I read your post, Gord was having a psycho treatment. My son and his family are going to Thailand over Christmas. Neighbors are flying to New York for Christmas. I do not want anyone traveling right now.
Betty, you are such a nice friend. You always put everyone before yourself. My mom and dad were married for over 50 years and they never held hands until just a few weeks before he died. I actually saw him reach over and take her hand.
Vern is ready for his ice cream. I will try and return. You all stay warm. Your cold weather is heading our way Wednesday......
Morning :-)
LoL .. no, not 'PSYCHO. but Physiotherapy Sharon .. and, not too much right now as the therapist wants him to work on the bruising .. .. because his left hand is bruised .. he wants him to sit with his whole arm up as often as possible ..
Now, you'd have to know Gord well to realize that when he is told to do something, he will not transgress from the instructions .. after we got home he proceeded to find every position he could that would see his arm straight up .. I needed PSYCHO treatment LOL ..
I have had that casserole here in TBay at Christmas at a friends .. an artery clogger fer sure, but, SO good !!
Karen .. what an lovely picture of the older couple .. I seldom hold hands with Gordon, but, on the way down to Toronto, we were so squished into the plane seats, we HAD to ! Felt good :-)
Susan .. as 'me sainted mither' would always say .. "Pray for the best, but be ready for the worst'.
I am thinking Marcel is either BI polar, or, a pathologic liar .. neither are good ..
Jean .. how are you? And your M in L .. is she looking forward to Xmas?
Hope things are going well for you .. must be warmer there ... warmer than out 18F.
Gord has an apt this morning .. family doc .. I drive now for at least another week .. he can't drive for 2-3 weeks .. misses his cronies ..but, they do call .. he's missing hunting season, I don't bring it up ..
Betty, trying to get a 'grip' on these Black Friday sales here .. Amazon .com is sure advertising !
Best have some Cheerios ..

Morning all
Sharon, did you take photo'sat the Bridal Breakfast? Lots to do these upcoming weeks, Lordy, 2 weddings in 1/2 year, must be overwhelming for your daughter! How did your gardener make out.was it a heart attack?
Susan, what will you ever do without all this stress in your life..countdown is on.
Have that churning tummy, feeling like something is about to happen and not good, don't you just hate it when you feel like that
Need coffee, do something with my hair, put out garbage..by then the girls should be here.
"m" men are such poor patience as likely you well know. Gord will feel better once he has wheels. Lol
Listened to BT this morning, major accidents, pedestrian killed in another (hit and run)
Black ice so be careful out there.
Good morning,
Whew sorry to post and run, and Thank you all for support with Jakes accident.
OMG, my worst fear took place; Jake fell asleep at the wheel!
He was coming from Montello was driving in that storm. He was about a half hour away, feeling wide awake and then just fell asleep. He awoke when he hit the car in front of them, trying to take control of car, veered to the other side and back bouncing off walls and finally stopped. EVERYONE is fine, Thank God, this could have been deadly.
The kids in the other had no idea what to do so Jake took the reins, called the police.
Yesterday he went and got another vehicle exactly the same.
Waiving Hiya Moonbeam! Been thinking about you a lot. Hi to Jordan and Jim from all of us.
Funny, Jake just told me the other day he still snapchats with Jordan, I had no idea...but isn't great they continue to be friends, I love it...I hope that you are feeling well and taking time for yourself. I know how taking care of MIL takes a toll, lots of driving, Well I just think your a great DIL.
M, So glad Gord operation was a success and still pain free. I hope this next one goes as well.
Well, I'm sure Lorna will be a good girl while your away, it good she will have friends and neighbors to watch out for her and keep her company.
Susan, Congratulations, and welcome to the world Nora, what a pretty name for a beautiful baby. Sorry can't help with the knitting, lol I just know how to do simple rows.
Waiving Sue...Yikes your busy, I hope you have a great Trip to NC and a great visit.
woah on the boss guy, what a jerk, glad you won't have to put up with his meanass anymore.
oops, I guess that's not a real word, lolol.
Karen, OH my goodness, what horrific scare for you! I am so glad you got this problem figured out, gosh doctors!! So very glad you got needed blood and I am soo happy at how much better you feel...You know, your story of opening your home to the stranger in the night sure brought tears to my eyes. Told my eldest and she too had tears, You are just a lovely person, Keep spreading the love. Oh just love the your latest delivery.
Also, I really love ytour tree skirts! How neat the sleigh and reindeer is but I am really loving the star one!
Barbara, was nice to have a craft day with you. LOL, I was so smiling at your shopping adventure...What an adorable picture I had of Norm pushing you piled high with need items!
Oh, and how was dinner with your family, that was just wonderful.
Yep, been thinking about Katie too, hope she is having a good visit and getting business done.
Dianne, What fun story about the TH and their crates! LOL, just that Diesel gives himself crate time, too funny. Been having quite a few fires because of this cold weather, of course I think of you every one. I hope all is well with you, oh my gosh sure thought you were going to say you were getting another pup...really wish DH would let me get a puppy, but he won't and I gave up asking.
OK going to send now hope It don't go poof.
Will be busy recreating my lost post...
Woohoo, Santa Warren Expresses making deliveries, you all are fast!
Some of my day's I have been working hard on mine, lol...took a day to find and gather all the need items, then another to work it all out in my mind, then another to get to work on it...Tah and Dah, got my structure done and now to finish this part up!! LOL good thing it is for someone, I might keep it, just kidding...Anyway it will be on the way soon!
Barbara, Betty was right my toy is my scroll saw it's what used to create your wooden scissors and Joy letters!...haven't played with it for a year,
So I have been just a cutting little elf, heheh. having a ball...
Speaking of which I finally finish a project that was in the making for a couple of years.
Not due to the cutting, due to the right files, I didn't have, this too will be on the way,lol
Not too funny but sorta, I am sooo behind on a lot of things, but making up a ton of unfinished projects.
Deb, Awe, you received such nice presents from Betty! Glad you joined this year and hope you had fun with it too...OH my gosh can you believe this weather? lol, I'll take the warmth.
Well all the mud is probably not in your favor...Awe how sweet your pup turned a year old.
Hi Kathy, looking forward to seeing what you got!
How's your wee pup baby? You sure have been working out a lot, Hoping that you feel great afterwards.
Sharon, glad the Shower breakfast was so nice.
Who am I missing??
Linda kay, OH my gosh, such a long wait for your surgery, Well I hope the time goes quickly and not worse painful.
LOL, while I think of who I am missing, I'll tell you about my days with the birds.
So, Flo is finally a lot nicer to me, we are alone most of the days and she has no choice but to be friendly if she want me to be nice too, lol...Big progress, she actually is giving me kisses.
We continue our toast in the mornings and she can say good morning, what you doing? I'm sure other things I just haven't picked up yet. she also is being nicer to Jacob as well. whew she has been really mad at us for loosing P, only thing I could think of.
Well, and of course my time with Pegasus is just so much fun. So we play ball, catch and he is just hysterical, when he gets it, We do the Crowd goes wild...woohoos and of course we dance and sing. Now, yesterday he came out to visit, it was just me and the birds.
He sat on the chair and was just cheering crowd goes wild, tadahing and having fun...
Well all the sudden I realized he was serenading me...You are my grandbird, my only grandbird, you make me Happy when skies are gray, you never know bird how much I love you, please don't take my grandbird away! then he gave me a kiss. Melt my heart away when he gives me armwraps. This he does by putting his head on my shoulder.
Ever get into an argument with a bird? What a riot!! He can be very vocal and I do mean vocal, love listening to him jabber away, hands on the hips he does swear too.
Well I got to go butter toast, Flo is screaming, she's not mad, she's alerting me toaster popped!!
lol
Our feathered babies are something, aren't they? I can hear the squawks!! Bird, bird, food is ready... come on, hurry LOL
mine are at opposite end of house, but I swear they can hear the spaghetti hit the colander! !! They go crazy ;) got to bring them some, or they keep on yelling.
Only about 250 more 2.25" squares to cut. For this quilt, I have been waiting years to make.
Remember the movie "happy feet" ? Well kyle & I saw it together, and we both loved it. Shortly thereafter I found this pattern. Knew I'd have to make it for his first born.
Had to play with the squares last night, after working on getting Waylon's room cleared out, of sewing stuffs .
Harry Potter bookcase quilt above happy feet
It feels sew good to be doing Happy quilting !!!
Y'all have a great day, sew something wonderful ^_^
Mine always loved pasta of any kind and pizza too. They used to start yelling when they heard popcorn popping.
I just have canaries & finches now, no room for bigger. I make them mini corn muffins with chopped mixed veggies, they really dive into that. Barely eat seed.
I used to have canaries, and finches too. I think I had about 30 or so, at one point. So so wonderful to watch them hatch, and feather out. Never ceased to amaze me. I had a few pairs of doves also, loved to listen to them coo, drove the guys crazy tho. Gave them to a friend.
Judy - omg - SO glad that Jake & everyone else is fine - you're right, it could have been Horrific to be sure.......... the Lord was looking out for him and send a guardian angel.......
Marcel sounds like a pathological liar....... he hooked us in good and proper, but now he's hanging himself. He'll find out that we're not doormats, and as Residential Tenancy folks told us we had 3 great reasons to have him evicted on Nov 15th and it's the same good folks who are presiding over the hearing...... well, it stands to reason that they'll back their own people up, and see Marcel for the liar he is.
Be back in a tad, girls just left, more gifts out the door, love when I see them doing gifts vs buying..Missy, well she just slept the entire morning, think she thinks we are boring. Lol
Drats, sent my Olivia iron for repairs when I was stateside, didn't heat up lately, cost a lot, for $300 (including 13% tax) it should last longer than 1 year warrantee..regardless asked them to fix, warrantee or not
Last night bought another, this morning my craft room tv no longer has a picture, sales on Thursday and Friday so guess Santa will buy me a new one..can't spend all that time in craft room and have no tv
Having lunch/supper then will wrap a few gifts so I can get rid of a few boxes laying around then back to re read
Milder today, things are a melting!
Betty, I have heard a lot of quilters complain about those olisio irons going bad.
WOOO EEEE .. for that much $$ I'd want the iron to iron FOR me .. my little Sunbeam is years old .. still does the job when called on .. now that I don't iron uniforms it's few and far between ..
Judy, love your posts, always make me smile ..
Thunder .. awwwwww .. such a cute design .. love Penguins, and, Happy Feet is a fave :-)
Docs apt was anticlimactic, he is FLOORED by what has happened re Gord's eyes .. he and Gord have hunted together a few times, and he is aware of how important Gord's sight is to him ..
He also gave us both a flu shot! fingers crossed neither of us feels 'ishy' .. so far so good.
Came home and started dinner .. went to put the chicken in to cook .. flippin oven was WARM only .. hmmm .. checked all the doo dads (it's a gas range) all ok .. but, when I looked inside, one of the burners in the oven wasn't 'bright red/orange .. it was dull grey .. as in likely burned out ..
Happily I am covered .. so .. I have an apt being scheduled (via Pakistan)
Looks like BBQing will be happening ..
BBL
~M~
Someone tell me something uplifting. No details from me, and things WILL be fine, but I do need something uplifting to raise my spirits
Hmmmmmmmmmm .. Christmas Eve is one month away ... Spring is 5 months away .. Christmas lights are looking wonderful in our area .. 2 deer just walked down our driveway .. I could say something about my bra, but, I won't ..
Sending you a HUG from Ontario .. all will be well :-)
~M~
lol an uplift bra, I presume? LOL you gave me a giggle, Marilynne, and I thank you for that.
Deer? how lovely - what, no pictures? That's what we need - time out in the country. What a lovely thought.
I won't talk about Christmas, because that's in the future, and I'm living in the present at the moment.
Spring? We just got another dump of snow, so it's very peaceful now...... a blanket of white is so very calming, until you have to walk in it lol
Uplifting
Hmmm "M" came up with many good ones..
First, saying thank you to the Lird for waking up in the morning..what a blessing and asking that the little things are what we see and feel for the next 24 hrs
Although there is snow on the ground I'm blessed that I can look outside and enjoy it's beauty without having to go out
Start the day with finding 5 things to be appreciative for, I love being able to watch the birds, even in the snow they sing, just seeing how busy the squirrels are brings joy
Often look in the sky at the clouds to see formations of many wondrous things
Stores are in 'sale' mode for Christmas..Its nice to look around and use your talents and yes all have talent, give a bit of ourselves....babysitting voucher, back rub voucher etc and be stress free and save on the bank book, always a reason to smile
Am rambling
Just had 2 calls, not a phone person but was nice catching up with Rita and Carol
I too love your posts Judy..so glad Jake's ordeal ended up with no loss of life.
Lindakay, did you get good buys? Keep forgetting your thanksgiving is only days away..here I'm in full blown Christmas mode and you with Thanksgiving
What are all your plans?
I'm looking forward I hope to a quiet weekend, with almost all my week days being filled with a craft room full of people wanting to do Xmas gifts I really appreciate a 'do nothing' weekend..hope that this weekend will be exactly that..won't plan anything as it always seems there is something that comes up..
What I would like to do is go to the Stained Glass studio and pick up bevels to do a few stained glass snowflakes..looked for supplies and Lordy almost out of everything
Eyes getting heavy..think I'll have a bowl of banana'so in milk then head to bed..already had hot chocolate..yummy
I love that Betty. So many times we are not aware of the damage words can do.
Susan...something uplifting.... the sweet face of Baby Nora, the joy you felt when you reconnected with your son....the connection you felt making the baby blanket for your grandbaby.
I am slowly getting my Christmas decorations out. I do not put up a tree but I have enough "things" to make it look festive.
Gardeners were here and cleaned up the total landscape. Then the wind came and it looks like no one ever touched it.
I was going to put out freeze cloths but it was just to windy. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow.
Had another series I am watching do the same thing as Blacklist. Blindspot has built up and I watched last night's recording and at the end they said, see you back in February.
My garden helper, who is a different person that the landscapers got out of the hospital after a bunch of tests. Angina and high blood pressure was their diagnosis.
Marilyn, that is a bummer about your oven.
Linda, are you ready for Thanksgiving. Vern and I are going to daughter's home.
Turkey shoots down a Russian fighter jet. Then they shoot two pilots parachuting to safety. Then Putin, says, you should not have done that. All these fools are going to have us in World War III soon.
Susan, I thank God everyday for any moisture he gives the drought stricken areas, I have a wonderful life, that I am able to sleep in a warm house and have enough food to eat. Foremost for my good health and any leg pain I now have is minimal. And I could go on and on. I am blessed everyday with your kind words.
Just wish I knew everyone' name. But I will eventually get there.
I need to go in the kitchen and find something Vern will want to eat. He is not eating much today.
Thank you - I just got another uplift from an email from my niece - her grandbaby, and my great great niece's picture....... She's on the Duck quilt that my sister Alice made for her, before she was born. It's a tradition in the family, for Alice to make Duck quilts for each new baby. She made a couple of them, so the next baby will have one, too.
Isn't Nora Winn precious?
Now that is uplifting for anyone, Susan. (((HUGS)) and best wishes for Miss Nora Winn.
I know that Alice is watching from heaven, and is sending her love to her and the rest of the family.
Glen (the great great granddad) is recovering nicely in the hospital, from his cancer surgery. He's sitting up today and gobbling down all his food. Won't be home for a few more days yet, but I'm guessing he's anxious to hold his new great great granddaughter..........!!
Awe, Susan, that is so precious!
Thank you :-D
Morning all,
Been up since 2:30am, sandman passed my street as I see a few lights on, tossed/turned for an hour and finally said up and at it!
Quilted a little runner I'll take with me tonight for don and Lois, find something in the bin for Randy and Cheryl, put my roast on at 7:30 and will be ready for the falls who arrive at 8:30
Linda comes extra early to so I can get her started on her populous before the others come.
I'm sure you will all be busy getting ready for tomorrow..who will be travelling and who will have company..a, sure some can't be with family but you'll have this family to keep you company.
This morning I thought I'd try TV again in craft room, nothing. Looked at the black box that brings in channels from upstairs, no on light so brought the one from the bedroom and tried it, wow, not the tv but need a new box...brought it upstairs to set on the table and dropped it, thought maybe I shook some sense into it, plugged it in the bedroom and the power light came on..Sooo no shopping for new tv
Susan, that is wonderful news re Glen and yes, bet he is anxious to see precious Nora.
Sharon, I've watched blacklist, missed this season though, mitts on when I watch another but I've not heard of Blindspot. The world is sure in a worrysome position right now, can use all our prayers for sure.. Bet your gardens are beautiful right now.
Judy, still thinking about Jake falling asleep, how lucky he is to be here..Steve back working mega hours?
