Best/Wirse/What did I Learn today? & Santa Warren Exchange

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Wish I did. I can run to the dollar store. They might have some.

Victoria Harbour, ON

They would have a roll Lindakay but taping it would be ok, just tape it wide so when you put the white on it won't be all over the place

Is it in the garbage, perhaps you could still use it

Dianne, did you get snow..none here on the ground, what did fall this afternoon melted immediately. Hope you get some rest, must turn your days into nights and nights into days

I might try them, would be nice treat for Christmas but I screw up the melting of the chocolate all the time, any hints what I might be doing wrong?

Wide awake now that I cleaned the craft room. But will make myself comfy and play on iPad, sure it won't be long before I feel my eyes get heavy

Special date at 9am tomorrow so want to be well rested☺️

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

All these kinds of things I will make when we move - no room to add more "stuff" here...... and I'm looking forward to doing a lot of stuff in OUR home.... this place does not and can not feel like HOME. So many things we can't do because of space, time, or restrictions by our landlords.

They don't know how to shovel a walk with a proper shovel, so Bob has to (has a metal edge on ours, they have a cheap plastic shovel that doesn't remove the ice - and it's in the lease that they will...... oh well.) We're leaving them our new shovel when we move, so they have a proper one. Ours is in the shed at the mobile, and you know how difficult they make it for us to get anything from OUR home......

Victoria Harbour, ON

You will have a new found love and appreciation for you home when you get to move back in..

We will call you Miss Homebody

I agree with the gals though, even if not required, take photo's of everything, a must for sure

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh yes - I will be staying home a lot once we move - and I'll have twice the space (including storage) there as we do here..... all on site!!! And Yes, I'll have a new appreciation of it. We'll live there for almost 2 years, because of the closure of the park in Sept 2017.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Susan .. is there any way your tenants could get INTO your shed?

The fudge is too tempting .. DH is diabetic, and Lorna and I are watching our weight .. (watching it go up) LoL

What can I see re the Quilt by LK and wreath and the tree skirts .. I only wish I had the talent ..
Barb was my Santa Warren 2 years ago, and, she sent me a beauteous tree skirt that I cherish, along with LKs mice :-)

Going to watch a movie .. 'Boulevard' with Robin Williams ..

TTYtomorrow

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are like me"M"
Each time I open the totes there are treasures from DG to,decorate my home at Christmas time..all are cherished

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, when you get the condensed milk with butter and sugar melted, just pour it over the chips with baileys. The chips melt from the hot melted sugar.
Don't add extra liquid, or the fudge will be too thin.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

We have padlocks on our sheds, so I suppose if they use bolt cutters they could cut them, but they don't have the keys for them, and I suppose they could take the hinges off? No, they're not high security, but there's nothing but gardening stuff and our Christmas decorations in there......

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Judy, so glad Jake is okay. Knowing he is safely at home and no one was hurt makes it all okay. (((HUGS)))...you can breathe now. grin

LK, I just told Jim about the fudge...he is going to the store first thing in the morning...LOL.

I will be sending my Santa Warren package out on Monday. It will be heading west....and I do believe that everyone except Barb and Betty are west of me....GRIN

Hope you all have a good night and sweet dreams. Be safe and stay warm.

Jean

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

siiiiiiiigh our tenants are trying to push our buttons again
emailed, saying they'd been phoning and emailing saying that they were told by a neighbour that we'd dropped off court documents but that they don't have them. The ONLY neighbour we told was the one who not only saw the documents, but that we put them in a bag and inside their port.
I phoned the neighbour, and he said that Marcel told him he had the documents but that "I didn't receive them personally". He doesn't have to receive them personally. I have the directions that say if they're evading us, we can put them where they can receive them (in their porch by the door is sufficient), but not only that - I phoned the neighbour and he's going to email me a statement saying that Marcel told him he has the documents.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

But did you take a picture showing the documents on the porch? Snakes do not change their nature Susan. That is why everyone keeps saying cover ALL the bases.

Hope the neighbor's e-mail is enough....

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

normally, our word is enough. As it is, we ALSO have the word of the person who not only witnessed our leaving the documents, but that Marcel told him he has the documents.
Them demanding a set because they didn't get them is pure fabrication.
There is a place on the form where we can say they are evading the delivery, and we don't have to prove as much as we can, that they've received them.
After all, we didn't tell ANYONE else that we were delivering documents, and yet they know they should have gotten them?
And they say that the hearing is on Nov 29th? (Sunday? really????)
I sent them an email saying we delivered them Monday at 11:38 am, and the hearing is Nov 27th at 9 to 10am - Friday.
I'll call Residential Tenancy on Monday about this, and see what they have to say, but they've already told me what to do if they're evading service.

Victoria Harbour, ON

A simple picture would have done wonders Susan regardless what the documents tell you you needed..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

MORNING ..

Sleep evades me yet again .. now my worry is leaving Lorna on her own for 4 days in January while DH and myself go to Toronto for his eye surgery!
Lorna is not someone who will sit still ..there will be neighbours on the lookout, but I am still fretting ..

Susan .. " A picture is worth a thousand words"! This Marcel person is plain and simply a 'shyster' .. and, I betcha the wife is thinking the same, but, afraid to say anything ..

Supposedly off to the Reserve for gas .. early .. then I want to pick up my one Santa Warren addition .. then home for a turkey dinner, turkey thighs ..

18F ... no snow ...

We got our snow through the night, not as bad as downstate, maybe 5". Hubby is out playing in it now. He got a new snow blower last spring and has been eager to play with it. He had two that were so old he couldn't get parts anymore and kept them running with luck and bailing wire. I finally talked him into a new one and don't you know his neighbor buddy took both those home.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

"m" Lorna is a smart lady, I'm sure she will take care and with neighbours looking on she will be sure to mind! You've got me thinking of supper, should take something out now while I remember..your turkey dinner sounds yummy so perhaps I'll take the same out..might have to buy another Turkey and make dinners as I'm running out of those.

Karen, boys and there toys, likely those two are still running. 😜

We also got snow last night, in fact plowman woke me up about 4am..may 3 inches but unless we get more likely melt by afternoon.

Just finishing coffee then heading downstairs for 9am

The 9th Annual Christmas Workshop will soon begin at 9am, maybe if you've time you can drop in and cheer them on..as always I'm a worrywart like "M"..always worry that they will be disappointed with their end result!

Best I make another coffee and head downstairs

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I may have to make another tree skirt. DGD's FIL's fiance is just raving over the blue skirt...I call it snowy sky. They have been so very good and helpful to DGD & family, I would like to do something special for them for their wedding. I usually add a few ornaments from Bronners to the tree skirt, it's so easy to find just the right ones there.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Karen, can you post a photo of the blue skirt. I think I might have missed it or else I just can't remember....LOL

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty made all the cut-outs for me. I just got an Accuquilt Die Cutter but haven't used it as yet. I want to but have a few other things to finish first before I allow myself to play.

Die's are expensive but if you have the ones you most use you will not regret the purchase

Have some gloves, mr and mrs hats, some scarves ready to put into an envelope and mail tomorrow, was there other parts you need before I send these off
They will give life to the snowman

Could add a couple pjs and bows for the sleigh?

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I only have 3 snowmen, I think the sleigh is fine. Thank you so very much.

I got the 12" Qube of cutters so if there is ever any you need, just let me know. I'm thinking those will help a lot with QOV blocks. Also came with a free pattern book by Eleanor Burns.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Busy ladies :-)
I hear it keeps you 'out of trouble' LoL

Santa Warren box is done, went to get the brown wrapping paper .. no can find .. so .. I'll get some tomorrow and get if off n on it's way Tuesday.

Getting ready to shower, dinner is done, was good .. but, turkey makes me sleepy (tryptophan)

Have a splendid evening all ..

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We will have our turkey day this Thursday.

Verona, ON

M you don't have to have the box wrapped in brown paper. I never do... just seal it up really good (anyone who has received something from me will testify I make it hard for them to open the box). I take 3 pieces of white paper with the name and addy on it. One goes IN the box and the other on the box. Then I anchor these pieces of paper to the box. Sometimes I just put the paper on the top side of the box and write the name and addy on the underside. Just make sure you put a line through any UPC codes on the box

Rather envious of you'all having turkey. The house smells so good while it bakes.

Karen I was interested in your post about the docs saying you were depressed when in reality you were ill. I recently read a long article calling out many docs for saying the patient (usually women over 50) was depressed and failing to do even the minimum of testing or even really listening to what the patient was saying.

Slept very well last night thanks to Rx sleep meds. Only got up a couple of times., once to stoke the wood stove.

Sharon how was the breakfast wedding shower?

Dog bowls are being tossed around in the kitchen so I best go feed them.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Karen, I have them all as well, only thing is I didn't get them in a cube, paid mega $$ as I bought them individually..have the 2 rag sizes, the stars, the circles and the strips..try to buy one every once in awhile

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Got my tree up and decorated, and got my manger people set up. Joseph lost a hand and his staff over the summer, but I think he'll be fine. Still lots of other decorating to do but at least it's started, and the lights look pretty!

Thumbnail by momcat Thumbnail by momcat
Victoria Harbour, ON

Love your tree Deb..poor Joseph, perhaps you can make him a staff?
Hand is another thing

Can see we are starting to get in the mood

Next time I'm in town going to get wrapping paper

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

LQS where I bought mine had some specials, plus they gave me a very nice cutting mat. I will now get a 15% discount on any other dies I buy. I might down the road get a Rag die. I've wanted to make one but knew I couldn't do all that cutting.

Dianne, it seems once they decided I was depressed, any other options just flew out the window. I wouldn't go back to the Cardio because of it. Now I find out this G.A.V.E. was going on before my heart problems. I should have been getting stronger and it was the opposite. I got into grave trouble because I got tired of arguing with my Primary too. I was in serious danger by the time I got to the hospital. I had to go see her after my release and I let her know that I was upset by her calling me depressed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Good for you Karen for standing up for yourself..did she respond?

You will be thrilled with the rag cutter..I cut my fabric about 1/4 inch larger that the die cut, place my bottom and top together, sew my x then run it through accuquilt

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Great Betty, I'll have to remember that.

Not really she just let it pass, but I'll bet she knows now not to mention it to me again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Holy heck what a tremendous amount of snow out there
Am sure my plowman will be here by morning

Verona, ON

No snow here. It did snow for a brief few minutes but it melted as soon as it hit the ground.Keep it there Betty, keep it there.

I wish I could remember where I read the article about depression being used as a catchall by the docs. I am so glad you are feeling so much better Karen. And very happy you stood up to your GP. In this area if you go to your GP with something all they want to do is ship you off to a specialist.I hurt my left knee about 3 weeks ago and did the Oh I will ignore it and it will go away trick. Didn't work but I knew as soon as I saw the GP she would send me off to an Ortho in Kingston. Going in to see her Thurs so I will be interested in what she does.

Diesel is howling at the moon so I had better get him in before the coyotes join him.
Dianne

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

it's all good, re: documents - they've sent an email denying receipt, and our neighbour has emailed stating they DID receive as per Marcel saying so (but not personally delivered - form says they're still delivered even if they evade us, so don't HAVE to be personally delivered as Marcel says they have to be).

I'm more & more pleased with how Marcel is burying them in, head first.

Victoria Harbour, ON

But I'd like to share Dianne! Lol

I've been told a new doc is replacing mine, you would think after 40 years, yep did the math, that they would have the decency to send a letter out to advise of such..hope he is not one of those ' your depressed' kind of guys

Let's hope she has answers for you Dianne.

Missy is settling in re no longer wanting to go out in the cold, glad as I no longer have to worry about critters getting her

Victoria Harbour, ON

Still worry Susan, they know the tricks and all it takes is a soft hearted judge seeing they have a babe to request further time

A photo would have been icing on the cake

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

In Alberta, a young child or baby in the house is no reason to get a "stay" on an eviction. Winter coming is also no reason to get a "stay" according to Residential Tenancy, and it is a Residential Tenancy Officer who will hear the case, not a Judge. I am making a point-by-point document to refer to, on Friday at the hearing. Relaying that people in his office told me that we have 3 excellent reasons to give them 2 week's notice to evict as of Nov 15th this year, is reason enough for us to get a Writ Of Possession. The fact that we have an out and out lie in email to us (saying they don't have the documents, then saying to our neighbour (on the 17th) that they have the documents but weren't served personally "as required" when Residential Tenancy form that BOTH Marcel & we have says that they DON'T have to be served personally is just another stupid and erroneous comments that he has made all the way along. He's said in email that he's posting our emails on a Community Page, and there are more things that we have in his own hand that we haven't told you that are Definitely against not only the law, but against the Tenancy Act.
I'll post an update from the Hearing, on Friday afternoon. In the meantime, we're not being baited, nor are we answering "in kind" to any of his accusations, nor being "drawn into his nightmare".

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Here is some interesting info on depression....

Thanks for the article Jean, scary isn't it..

I was upset when my doc told me I had fibromyalgia , I said it was a catch all when nobody knew the answer to the pain
