Best/Wirse/What did I Learn today? & Santa Warren Exchange
I'm first lol
(Hugs) Karen - glad you're getting good care at the hospital! Sorry to hear you're in again though.
We're filing for a court hearing today. Hope our documentation will expedite it - we're checking anyway.
Forms, copying X 4, yadda yadda.......... the tension is so thick here, you could cut it with a knife......
With your landlords Susan or in general just getting this done
huh?
We're filing for a hearing, to get our tenants out.
We're heading to the courts right now.
Good luck, Susan. Praying it all goes quickly and easily for you and Bob from here on out.
Waiting on the Chinese food.
Best of luck Susan.
Betty, when do you travel?
Bbl
M
In Toronto "M" girls stopped for timmies, I'm saving my steps
Susan you said things are so tense there, know about the court situation just sounded like other problems
Again Susan, best of luck ..
House is quiet, and I am fading .. have to be up at 6am to put the roast on as we will be eating at 2pm .. Lorna's parents need to be picked up at 4:30am Sunday .. my body is starting to revolt against these early morning runs .. but, it's not all the time
No one mentioned whether the roast done in the slow cooker is in anyway spicy or overpowering in the taste dept .. Lorna's Mom has a touchy tummy ..
Karen .. sure thinking about you .. hope you feel better.
You as well LK ..
A colleagues hubby passed away suddenly today .. he is, I think, maybe 53 !!
Best go and let the pups out
~M~
Marilynne - there is no other spicing of the roast, just the Au Jus powder, and the Ranch salad dressing powder. That, and the butter is all you put on it. If she has a touchy tummy and can't have ranch dressing, or gravy (Au Jus), then this wouldn't be for her.
We had this dinner on Tues, and it's certainly tasty. Our landlady said she likes things spicy, so she added spice to it (she's Malaysian, so of course likes spices - the more the better lol).
You can always add salt & pepper to taste, afterwards.
Just got home from filing for the court - hearing date is Nov 27th at 9am to 10am.
We should get a judgement at the hearing, after we've had our "says".
We told our Grace about it. Also told her that we do not want Marcel in here while we still live here.
I'm hoping that we'll get a 24 hour notice for Marcel & Carolyn to vacate (Saturday Nov 28th by noon).
Best of luck in court.
Thank you, LK - We have a lot of things right about what we did. He tells so many lies that it's patently obvious. The Residential Tenancy office has 2 weeks to look over our case, including an email trail where he's being inflammatory, defamatory, and trying to bait us into replying. We don't. Even the email where we gave them a replacement stove, and they said That one broke 4 days after we brought it.
As I said, there are so many issues with this case, that they've doubled the amount of time assigned to it - 1 full hour instead of 1/2 hour......
Thanks Susan .. she's just really sensitive to onion and garlic .. for such a very ladylike lady .. she can sure BELCH if she tangles with either if those 2 things !!!
Now, her Dad on the other hand, the spicier the better, and, the saltier !!
Guess Betty is Buffalo bound .. hope she's feeling OK ..
Just read on my FBook that Karen is doing better after having blood .. :-)
Splitting the sheets ..
Sleep well all
~M~
Ranch dressing is a type of salad dressing made of some combination of buttermilk, salt, garlic, onion, herbs (commonly chives, parsley, and dill), and spices (commonly black pepper, paprika, and ground mustard seed), mixed into a sauce based on mayonnaise or another oil emulsion.
As you see, there's garlic & onion in Ranch dressing.......as part of the seasoning packet.
As there's no liquid in a seasoning packet, I guess that usually the buttermilk is added for the salad dressing. In the case of a roast, no buttermilk or any other liquid (other than the butter and roast drippings) is added.
I guess, given that, it's your call Marilynne.. There's garlic & onion in the seasoning packet, but is it enough to cause her grief?
Today was a good day. Beautiful weather. I had HOA gardeners come by before I left for hair appointment to move another plant into the garage garden area. Weathermen are reporting a cold front coming in and didn't want to wait for next week, just in case.
I had my hair cut and colored, then did a quick stop off at Trader Jo's. I then dropped off at SteinMarts to see what they had in light long sleeve sweat shirts. As I drove up there was a very large banner stating 14 hour sale. Since I do not shop there much I did not know about the chaos I would find inside. A total mad house. I did walk through but could not find anything I thought I was looking for and turned around and left. I was planning on running in, grab a few and go right back out. It would have taken a long time to check out and there was nothing I needed that bad.
Got home, unloaded the groceries and walked the dogs. I was planning on sitting back and watching the rest of Masterpiece Classic when the news came on about Paris. It is so disheartening when something like this happens. So many innocent families lives have bn changed forever.
Susan, I certainly hope this eviction goes as easy as you think it will. Something finally has to go right for you two.
Karen, hopefully they are finding your bleed area. Not always easy.
The photo I have posted is Luke's new dog. It is a labradoodle. Lab and poodle combo. He gets his puppy on Nov. 21.
Linda, time flies unless you are waiting to get rid of pain. You totally have my empathy. Back. leg and hip pain are horrible. Mine is still gone after the healing massage. And as soon as I have any pain, I am going back.
Betty have a fun time.
Sharon - if the Residential Tenancy Officer, who presides over the hearing, decides in our favour we get a Writ Of Possession, which means they have to vacate, and if they return to the property can be charged with trespass.
We have the keys to the mobile, and Bob can hop over the deck fence, no problem (if they bolt the gate). We can have the bailiff and police attend on the day they are to move, in case they don't vacate, and physically take possession and change the locks.
Up to put on the roast and, to get more news on France (Paris)
My gosh .. ANOTHER ISIS attack, and hundreds killed or maimed .. I kept wakening and thinking about how INSECURE we are all now becoming within our countries ..
No wonder security is so high at airports .. I was getting annoyed with the checks and pat downs etc, but, there IS a reason ..
The most horrific thought (fact), is, theses terrorists are HERE among us ..
My thoughts go out to the wounded and their families, and those innocent lives lost.
Re the roast .. it's on .. and I will give her the option. a roast beef dinner, or, chicken .. really find it difficult to avoid onion and garlic ..
Sharon .. I can imagine the store was teeming with folks out for a bargain .. I salute you for going in ..
You sound so much better, makes me smile.
LK .. how are you doing? Do you have a walker, or, access to one? I know it sounds awful, but, you will need it post op, and, you may find it helps .. sure did me before I ended up in a wheelchair.
Karen .. thoughts with you ..
Barb and Dianne and Debbie .. any snow? Ours has so far, stayed :-(
Best go and listen to more news .. frightening
HUGS
~M~
No snow here yet but getting colder every day. Almost "stay in the house" time for me unless it is Christmas!!!! In the winter I need to let others come to me instead of me doing the going....LOL
Sending prayers for Karen that she is doing better. Hope they have found the reason for her blood issue. She sure has had enough this year.
How is Lorna's Dad doing "M". I know you are concerned.
Hope Betty doesn't exhaust herself this weekend. The girls like to shop!!!!!
Sending hellos to Dianne, Joyce, Debbie and everyone!!!
Off to start my day. Norm is home and it is housework day. Hope it is a great one for all.
Morning everyone.
"M:, I use a cane all the time, and i was told i would get a walker while in the hospital. For pre-op, I need to have a dental exam, to make sure there are no infections, as well as lab work, and an EKG. All this is supposed to be done the week before surgery.
LK .. I used the walker pre op, and, by the time I had the surgery, and, after, I was quite used to it, and, felt 'safe' ..
I no longer need to take antibiotics prior to a dental appointment .. man was that a deal and a half .. 6 capsules, and, my tummy HATED it ..
My gosh .. can you smell the roast !!! :-)
Sheesh .. smells awesome, and, I'm baking a fresh blueberry pie .. well, I made it and froze it in August ..
House smells great .. yesterday it smelled like WET DOGS LoL .. the snow is still to ground, but, the sun is out so brightly I do believe it will be gone soon ..
Have a headache .. should perhaps eat something ..

No snow here, but south of here they had a few inches. Sure is cold though.
I'm getting sprung this afternoon. Dr. told mewhat I have will never be cured and I will have to be monitored and have regular transfusions. Ahhhh another uncurablr, just what I neen. I do know that right now I feel better snd stronger than I have in over a year.
(((Hugs))) Karen - I'm there with you in spirit, and knowing this is tough for you.
Glad to hear you're getting "sprung" lol
Marilynne - you're right, it's difficult to get away from onions & garlic when cooking.
I wonder how Ernie is doing (is this the right thread? I get so confused......)
I hope everyone has a relaxing, blissful, blessed weekend :-)
Wrong thread Susan, but Ernie is having a rough time.
I'll go to the other thread and mention it again there. Thanks Karen for letting me know.
Karen sorry to hear your in the hospital again
LK hopping the best for your surgery. Big hug
M your such a strong woman. I'm sorry it's not good news. but glad no more antibiotics for you.
Ok I will admit, I skipped a thread and am still catching up
Is everyone making roast ? , the one Cookie makes is wonderful, have any of you tried it?
Susan hope you and Bob can get some sleep, awful upstairs neighbors are horrible.
Sorry if I'm forget anyone, yo are all in my thoughts
Not much goin on here
lilli our puggle is doing better
Lucy .....our lab.....well......she is Lucy lol
The kids are doing well. Savannah found 23 socks under her bed cleaning her room and $80. Lol maybe this will encourage her to clean her room more often lolo
Austin is doing better in school, I'm more involved, Jessica death took longer to mourn then I thought . I finally feel 90%. I'm more patient also. Lolol
Karen sorry to hear about illness. Sending prayers for you.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The roast turned out incredibly well .. Lorna's Dad says he is going home to make it ..
It wasn't too spicy, it was perfect .. I did mashed potatoes and Cauliflower and Broccoli .. the Au Jus was a bit greasy, but I was able to pull off most of the grease, and, the gravy was a smash hit !!
Whoever gave us this recipe ?Jean? .. I thank you ..
Early to bed .. up at 4am to get the folks to the airport ..
Sue .. thanks for your kind thoughts ..
My nephew works with NATO in Belgium, he emailed my brother to say 'things there are 'heating up' .. makes us uneasy ..
Toodles
~M~
I've made the roast a couple times, I added potatoes & carrots the last couple of hours. Rave reviews both times. Didn't bother making the drippings into grave, used as is.
I'm home, feeling surprisingly well. I need to see both Drs. next week or so to see where we go from here. I'll need blood checked at regular intervals and transfusions as needed. Gastro said there is no cure just control. It's been months since I've felt this well. When we left TN, I cried and cried because I thought I'd never see them again. I've been convinced for some time that I was just dying.
Oh Karen, I am soooooo happy to read this last report. As long as you monitor it, and keep up with whatever you need for it, you will be here with us for years to come!!!!! And our prayers will continue for you.
So glad you finally have a date LK. Waiting is hard but holidays should help keep your mind busy.
Glad the snow passed you be Debbie. We had some in the mountains up north but not here.
Karen, what is wrong, why will you need blood all the time?
Karen - where was the "leak"?
Marilynne - glad you liked the roast - I found it very tasty, and did make the drippings into gravy.
Sue - the noisy neighbours (landlords) upstairs are the least of our worries. I just want to get the tenants OUT of our home, and our utilities all set up the day we move back into OUR home. The electricity & heat aren't an issue - the billing will just revert to us, the owners. The TV/Internet & modem phone are another issue.
Morning everyone. Betty, are you home yet?
Just walking out the door for more shopping then home
Gab later
Linda, what I have is called G.A.V.E. I don't remember what all that is right now, basically it means I have a slow leak of blood in my stomach. There are streaks on my stomach lining, the sight of the leakage. I will know more when I go back to my gastro Dr. Evidently this has been going on for some time as he mentioned the streaks back in Feb. I know I just felt off as all said after the bypass that I was getting better and I just didn't feel it. I felt slowly and steadily I was weaker not stronger. My Primary and Cardio then said I was just depressed. I truly didn't think I was but tried to think more positive. The trip we took in April was really a good thing for me but it was taxing. Then Thunder, bless her heart, put me in touch with the QOV group and I felt it was just the right place for me. I kind of put my physical feelings aside and jumped in with both feet. I had to admit when we took the trip to TN that something was seriously wrong. I knew I was very pale and weak. Even if I couldn't see my face I could my hands and they looked like wax. I spent most of my time sitting in an easy chair and even slept there. I don't remember most of the trip home, hubby took me to Dr. first thing Thurs. She took one look at me and said I must go to the hospital immediately. I really hated going but I did. I do believe my color shocked everyone there as they were quite busy but hustled me right in. First Dr. came in and said "Oh my goodness, you are white". Blood test came back with my hemoglobin at 5 when it should be 12. I was given blood, iron, magnesium and I forget what all. By 7 when I was put into a room, I felt stronger than I had for most of the year. Now I wait until I see my Drs. again to see what will be the regimen of treatment.
My gosh Karen .. thank heavens you made it back for treatment .. ..
I smiled at the 'colour' comments .. nurses are notorious for checking out a persons colour .. even OUTSIDE the hospital .. talk about '50 shades of grey and white'
So glad the infusions worked, and, all the best with monitoring your labs ..
Was on the road at 4am, and home by 5:15am .. Lornas folks should be landing right now ..
Came home and caught a bit of sleep .. sun is now up, and, I do think we'll have a good day to do (finish) the outside stuff and perhaps put out our deer decorations ..
BBL
~M~
You know "M"? I think I was in more danger than I thought. My DGD wanted me to go the hospital in TN but I needed to get home.
Long and short of it is .. the red blood cells (your hemoglobin) carries oxygen .. you must have been short of breath as well ?
Anyway .. without proper oxygenation, our bodies don't run correctly ..
Thought processes get scrabbled a bit, and, generally speaking we slowly shutdown, which, I do believe you were doing ..
Just SO happy you got treatment :-)
~M~
Goodness, I am glad hubby took you to the ER when he did.
Karen, so very glad you have a diagnosis and are getting treatment. (((BIG HUGS)))
Gastric Antral Valve Ectasia is nothing to ignore. Here is a bit of general info to help explain to family what is happening.
http://www.virginia.edu/uvaprint/HSC/pdf/03044.pdf
You are so right "M" I could barely walk 10 feet to the bathroom using my cane and hubby helping. I was gasping most of the time. I truly felt it was just the end of my time.
It's was amazing how much better I felt after just two units. I'll be seeing my gastro Dr. in a few days and we will set up a plan of dealing with this.
