I crawled back to bed "M" keep telling myself to get up but like you it's cold in here and I'm cozy here under the covers. Do you not have pay per view?? Sorry to hear your pain remains, hard when you have to kick start your day with heavy meds.

Karen, your uncle will be overwhelmed as will the family. Don't forget your camera! Safe travels.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's my cousin but yes he will, as of now he has no clue. His SILs father is taking him to play golf...good thing no rain..we'll all just be there when he get back. Going to do presentation first if all are there.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very exciting Karen..

Well I'm out of bed but not out of my Jammies, will have my coffee and muffin then get into something, don't want to waste a day being lazy!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. Just in for a minute as Sean will be here in another 10 minutes.
He is now 15 Betty!!!!! Just at "that" age. Seldom wants to spend time here anymore.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Enjoy the day, Linda just called she has had a week from hell so meeting her in Elmvale in half hour, heading to Meaford for the day..Drats spent my allowance yesterday, can I have an advance on next weeks please?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. We got a nice rain yesterday, so it is cool this morning. 72.
Sorry to hear that your shoulder is hurting "M".

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Getting cloudier. SIL said it's raining there but not expected to last all day. They do have a nice big pole barn so weather won't bother us much.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

So sorry you can't get to your sister's funeral, Susan. Hopefully something will work out in the next week so you can manage to go. Are bus fares too expensive, too?

Sounds like everyone has a busy weekend planned.

I bet your cousin will be thrilled, Karen! Have a safe trip, it sounds like a good time!

Sorry to hear your shoulder is giving you pain, M.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Deb

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Lindakay at 72 you must be wearing a sweatshirt right?

Karen, by now you will be with family, your cousin smiling from ear to ear all enjoying this special gathering and ohh'ingahh'ing over the quilt.

Deb, any mating going on??
You must be enjoying just being home

Fun day

Picked up several fall decoration items, I fall in love with a zillion things when I go to the candle and decor factory in Meadord..their big sale is coming up in 3 weeks.

In the morning I thing I will put anything spring coloured/red flowers way as once my fall decorations get put away it will be time for Xmas decor...imagine

Had late lunch so I will not need supper

Must go get a bunch of painting books out and find something for one of the pieces, just know if I don't move my bi putt I will not have met the Tuesday girls challenge.

Lordy it smells wonderful in here, new potpourris , candles burning, love the feel of the coziness.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! No sweaters till it reaches about 55 or 60.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

My daughter paid for the move here - not going to ask her to pay more.
Bus trips, return, are about $250 from Calgary to Winnipeg and return. 20% discount on that.
I cannot justify spending that, when Bob doesn't have a job, other than semi-casual (maybe).

I did look at the Southland bus driver position - 6:30am to 5:30 am with a 3 hour break in the middle - fulltime/regular and more $$ per hour than he gets now - has to have the driver's license he has, and will train up to a Class 4 (free). And a raise after 7 months.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had a bit of a headache coming on, came to lay on my bed and fell into a deep sleep!!
"Hello, Hello" in a loud voice, Greg dropping in to say hello
Think I'll try some excedrin, been forever since I've had a headache..

That's a long day Susan, would he be close enough to home that he could come home on those 3 hrs? What does Bob think, will he apply? Will you put yourself back on the market?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh my, today was just so much fun.
My cousin was just floored when he walked in the door and most of my family was there. (I was so stunned that almost none of his were.) We prepared the meal, ate and then the big surprise. I took him by the hand and told him why we were really all there. I then presented his quilt to him. We were nearly all in tears by then. All in all it was a wonderful day. I will post photos when I get home as I don't have the smarts to do it from my phone.

Can't wait to see

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Waving!

Counting sleeps (11) and getting more excited! Can't wait.

I've released 26 Monarchs so far. There are 19 more chrysalides in the 3rd butterfly condo. What a fun time this has been!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Funny story...last two pictures.

When I brought in the first 11 caterpillars I put them all in the first container. So I kept counting them and every time I came up with 10, not 11. I finally gave up. Then when releasing some from the second container, I glanced over at my houseplant and hanging there was Number 11! I have absolutely no idea how the little guy (actually a girl) got out of the container and made its' way to the plant, made its chrysalis and became a butterfly all without getting taken out by the cats!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Been quite an experience for you Joyce.
Could she perhaps have latch onto you?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

omygoodness - a housebound monarch? That's too funny!

I have no idea where Bob might drive to/from to where he'd take the 3 hours off in the middle. Maybe that's why they're still looking for drivers - people don't want to have the long day.
I'm going to see how my knees are, after this last move.
and as 900 people are out of work in Calgary and area (most in Calgary - because of the Oil & Gas recession), it isn't a good time to be looking for work.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well let's hope bob will get enough time in each week that he need not worry about finding another. Did Ker move on to another location? Perhaps he knew this was coming!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - as for Ker not being a Warehouse manager, he wants to work for the same company but as a Day Porter. I don't know what's happened yet - Ker has asked for a Day Porter position close to where he lives, and an easier job. I'm sure he knew this was coming.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
Raining heavy here, hope that means you all have sunshine!

No doubt Ker knew Susan ..heartbreaking I'm sure as Bob was hoping this would be his last job

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Heya :-)
Another cool morning .. 46F .. but, temps are set to climb again .. gotta luv Ma Nature ..

Off to the Reserve in a bit for gas .. and out for breakfast somewhere ..

Joyce .. love the Monarchs :-) even the escapees .....

Hope everyone enjoys their day .. prayers and hugs for those in need ..

The house plant was right by the Monar h condo, so it probably crawled over. I'm sure if it was on me I would have known.

I have daytime garden club coming on Tuesday. The garden looks awful in my opinion, but Sherry assures me it's fine. She's been helping me with the cutting back and weeds. I'm so glad it cooled off this week. It's 56 right now. Great weather for working outside! I made several mushrooms and stems yesterday. I need to distress them today. I'm doing a demonstration on making them for garden club so I needed stems. Also, several have asked about buying some. YAY! Canada money!! ☺️

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wow, you are having awesome good luck with your Monarchs. We didn't get out to find then this year. Darn pneumonia.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce, you'd better save some of that energy for Canada as well, I've some pretty poor looking gardens that need reviving or put to bed. Lol

Yeh for Canadian dollars..remember you are already in the + big time, your money is now worth a lot more than ours.

Thought of you all when I was in Meaford, remember our shopping day there.

Next year Karen you'll be running circles over all the things you couldn't do this year!

Still raining, put a throw of mish mash blocks that were odds/sods, not the best looking but I decided to quilt it and see how it turns out..

I so enjoy taking seasonal things out, found this pretty t-towel Liz sent me years back..

I also remembered my painting challenge the Tuesday gals and I are doing, wasted time cleaning shelves and was a roadrunner yesterday so have to get at it, put out my grungy witches hat, mind is travelling o/t again, thought I'd make a couple, just not enough time in my day, as you can see I've projects galore waiting for me to work on

still in Jammies and it feels good, think I'd best do my hair though and pick a project

Rained all day
Jeff dropped in for a visit, was heading back to home, had to drop into his work as he is running a new program with an overseas company and wanted to make sure it was running ok.

I sat and painted a bit, got another piece done..Yukkk, so long since I painted, tempted to throw it in the garbage. Lol

Ready to take the throw off the frame, initially I thought I'd stay up later than norm and do some hand sewing but decided tomorrow's another day.

Mom called, she had been to bingo last week with a friend, they go 50/50, her friend won several times and I forget what they both brought home, in the $800 I think, yesterday she went alone and won $500 - 1/2 of the $1,000 jackpot, went today. And won the same game but on her own $1,000 so she was on a roll, glad for her. She begrudges $$$ spent but I said its her entertainment, I have crafts, Sharon has her dogs

Time to go downstairs and shut things down

Very quiet here so hope you enjoy your day

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yeah for your Mom.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I've been in the garden all day.

I remember Meaford well. We enjoyed it so much!!

Won't be long now, Betty!

Had about 5 Monarchs flitting around me today as I worked. I felt like they were visiting!

There will be 18 of us on Tuesday. Guess I better be thinking about some extra seating. I have 17 lawn chairs, 19 if you count my two rockers from the porch. So I guess I'm covered after all!

Hope you have some cool weather for us next week, Betty! Are the girls coming for a carry in?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Calling for 70 feels like 75, is that cool enough for you Joyce?

Those Monarchs have an attachment to you, likely think you are their ma'am lol

That's a good group Joyce..yes, I've made spaghetti for the Sunday you are here, not sure of the numbers but yes we'll have a visit.

Christmas throw is off the frame, will put binding on and sit and hand sew..relaxing
Might even get another wood piece to paint, if I stayed focused and picked an easy design I could meet my Tuesday target. Would say I've more than met it anyway seeing I finished a quilt and a throw that wasn't in the offing

If it dries up enough will get the grass cut and trimming done, nothing too exciting

What do you all have planned for your day?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Mine is the same as the few past days. Work in the garden. Sherry will be here at 10:00 to help. I think I will gather the chairs today so that isn't facing me in the morning. I need to make a few mushrooms and stems for the demonstration tomorrow. Donate plasma and it will feel like a full day.

We were at 48 when I got up this morning. Tomorrow is to be 81. I'm ready for the cooler weather. 70/75 sounds perfect, Betty! 9 more sleeps!

Victoria Harbour, ON

9 more sleeps..hurrahs
Anyone else out there who would like to join us, door is open/bed waiting!

I have several mushrooms the tops came off, glue doesn't seem to be working so thought I might drill a hole in stem, in top, set inside then reglue
Kept wanting to make another batch to rid myself of leftover materials for winter, who knows we might get a chance

Joyce need to ask a favour, will you pick me up a cheap bottle of vodka and I will pay you..liquor expensive here especially when you want to use it for spray starch. Lol

You are busy next few days but remember you have a few things to pick up, got your list?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just unpacked one full tote, when putting the goodies away this year I will divide..fall tote and Halloween totes.

Just going to wipe down some of my pretties..As always it's thrilling to take items out, Lindakay
Just took out the glass pumpkin and glitter pumpkin you sent me in a swap..I ohh'd and ahhh'd, must get to town to do buy treats for it,only thing wrong with that is I will eat them all 😉

So far it's looking nice with fall colours, almost as much as reds of christmas

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, your place is beautiful.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Awwww... Everything looks so welcoming!

Yes, we have our lists. Now to find a day to go shop for them! Sherry was wondering if she could do a smaller bag than a tote...I said I'd ask.

No problem on the vodka. I'll pick it up at the grocery. Much cheaper and less alcohol.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

good for your mom, Betty - she'll appreciate the $$ she won! How is it wrong that you'll eat treats?
yup, those monarchs clearly have a good place to say now - will be back again next year, and looking for you lol

What am doing today...... let's see now........ pack, pack, pack, and pack some more. Good thing is, we've just unpacked, so everything is pretty much in order, so it's "easier"......
Took the "Notice to quit" to our tenants. He's being nasty to us. We're feeling like we're being bullied, cuz 1st he said he'd help, then he started nattering about something we said that he took wrong. We apologized for his misunderstanding until we're blue in the face but he's gone off on us, and there's no way we can stay here past the end of the month (can't afford it with Bob not working), and no way we can stay in the same house as our tenants for 2 weeks.now either.
At least we'll be in our own place for our Anniversary.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Of course she can Joyce! We will make a tote that best suits her needs! Thanks re vodka, me who doesn't drink asking for booze. Lol

Susan, why it would be bad?? Just weighed myself, need to lose 20 lbs to be comfortable so a pumpkin full of chocolates would not be what my body needs

Not good news about the move situation, shaking my head, what on earth will you do..any cheap motels in your neck of the woods..if you are not paying rent and tenants still are then maybe the $$$ could be used for that, or you could move into your camper after parking it somewhere else so you aren't on their doorstep..2 weeks will go quickly..much to think about for sure

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Harvesting tomatoes and apples and peppers here, tidying the house .. just kinda being busy as the rest of the week we will be off to town for this that and t'other.

Back to summer here .. 80F+ today, but, a northern breeze as well ..

I have some fall decs I just stick in the windows .. nothing elaborate ..
Had 2 Robins hit the front window last evening :-( I have 'crystals' stuck on the wndow to prevent that .. obviously didn't work ..
Strangest thing .. the Robins has CLEARED our big Mountain Ash of ALL its berries .. never saw it happen before.

Best get a hustle in my bustle, have the ever loved 'PAPER WORK" to do .. gag me with a spoon dipped in vinegar !

Toodles

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hmm, wonder if it means a harsh winter "M"

Was going to rake all the crab apples from under the tree but wonder if I should wait awhile so the birds can feast?

It's a perfect day out there

Going to soon have to think about closing in the back deck though, perhaps when I get back from Florida, might be too late but this weekend is full, next weekend is full then it's Florida and nearing Halloween when I get back, often have the white stuff around then

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Have Joyce help you when she arrives.
