(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thinking of you this morning Susan and know your heart is heavy. Know that my prayers are with you.

Happy to read the update on Thunder's family. Things will settle for them and a new beginning will be a challenge. Glad to hear the girls are sleeping...Get some rest Thunder even though I know you want to be doing so much.....

What's up with not sleeping Dianne?
Glad to hear Vern is home Sharon but hope he feels better quickly.
Betty, you are busy as always. Won't be long before Joyce and company will be there.

Love your posts "M". How is Lorna doing now. I can't believe her efforts were treated so cavalierly. Soon it will be time for her to rest. Hope this finds you and Gord doing well.

Norm and I came home from our northern VT/NH trip a bit sooner than we planned. He lost his balance and fell onto some gravel and his leg got quite a bit of "road rash". And even though he said he was okay, I wasn't dealing with the heat very well. So we ended up with a lovely long days ride but home again instead of staying over up north. Now we are doing a few chores around here and hopefully tomorrow we will go to the coast for a lobster dinner. Boy, I am amazed at how fast a week's vacation can go by. Have another in Oct so hopefully we won't have the heat and humidity then.

Off to do my breathing machine. Then to make a couple of wallets to put inside the bags I sell. Got three ready for delivery next week....

Waving ~~~~~ to all and keeping you all in my prayers...

Betty - Marcel is moving to the UK. They'll stay with us long enough to get us settled into the mobile, and then move.
I'm going to take a friend's offer to drive me to Winnipeg for the funeral............
My daughter truly thought that Alice was not as severe as she was. Shocked her to find out that the end was hours away. We're all in shock - it happened so quickly after taking 17 years....... but as I said to Michelle, we're all different and you can't see one ending the same as another....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Susan, glad you get to go to the funeral, it will give you some closure.

mulege, Mexico

Susan, Glad things got worked out and you'll be in your real home soon. Also, good you can go to your sister's funeral.

I'm up and finishing packing. Hurricane is history. I'll be careful - even more than usual - as there may still be water damage.

Not sure when I'll be back so don't worry.

hugs, katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

They say everything happens for a reason. This might have been our year to find new friends and confirm our true friends.......... I hope so
I emailed family, to see what arrangements are being made. My dear friend, Eileen, in Winnipeg said I could stay with her. There may be other members of the family coming and it would be nice to know there's no undue burden on them to put me up.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

slept in this morning, still tired, but I know it will get better. it has been a very emotional roller coaster and I DON'T like rides !!!!!

just wish I could still be there helping, I know my DIL is going to over-do!!!

going to go dig in the fabric bins, the ultimate de-stresser :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good luck on your trip Katie, drive safely.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm with you, Thunder - my life seems like a roller coaster, and I don't like rides either lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lordy where did the day go, simply went downstairs to look for. Pattern to continue my painting challenge, Drats the books and shelves were a mess so spent it going through magazines and did some organizing so there went my painting time.

"m" will look forward to cooler temps for sure

Susan, how wonderful that someone will drive you to Winnipeg for the funeral, bet that is giving you strength not having to deal with the not going and you get to visit with your mom. Will the friends stay to bring you home?

Katie safe travels.

Thunder, so nice to see you posting, spend time playing with your bins of fabric if it distresses you. You need to look after you as well.

Barb how did your few days away go, am sure they were relaxing and just what you needed.
Yes, imagine Joyce is counting the. 'Sleeps'. Lol

Karen, how have you been feeling??

Grrrr last night missy had a bird she was at, now lays a chippy on back door, thought if I left it a tad it would no longer play possum and be gone but nope still there..how I hate this part of animals, their need to hunt..

Well now that I've wasted all day going through the shelves I might as well finish that task..under one of the shelves is a big wooden chest, as if it's filled with paint..will leave that for another day and see if they are still useable

How did I ever get so much crafting tools and supplies, shaking my head..if cleaning wasn't enough I found about 4 more prospects almost finished..oh well winter is coming and I will have plenty of time come winter to finish them

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Funny how we can get so distracted.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

not getting a ride to Winnipeg - misunderstood what she said.
Checked with WestJet and they have a bereavement rate, but can't book until 10 days before funeral, which is Jan 21st. No idea what the rate discount is, but would likely get a refund after proof of death.........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Why is the funeral so far out?

Good luck getting bereavement prices. When my Mom passed, I called every airline, no such deal anymore.

Victoria Harbour, ON

that is a long time away Jan 21st. How about bus?? What led you to believe you would be driven?

Don't think they do bereavement here either..

Just this minute finished cleaning the craft room shelves, tired tired so going to take a nap as I, with Dianne, as you can see by some of my posts not sleeping for long periods of time. Omg did you hear me scream?? Found on top shelf where I keep all excess paint a dead mouse, had fallen into a mini crate, guess it could get out..took me a second to throw away container and all!

Got 2 calls, one saying the motor for back wiper is in, I'll see what my schedule is next week and book spot.

Then the fabric store called, the die I ordered with sleigh, snowflakes is in, there goes this week and next weeks allowance. Lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I called WestJet and they DO offer bereavement prices.
I misunderstood Norma and thought she wanted to go to Winnipeg to visit her daughter and would make it when I would go. I was confused yesterday.
I called her today, confirmed what she meant - she'd love to, but doesn't have vacation time then. She's on vacation 2 weeks later.

Hadn't thought about bus. I could do that.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Greyhound bus also provides bereavement discounts - bring the ticket in, and they give you 20% off, plus (although I'm only 61 and they start their senior discount at 62.......) they could give me a further discount based on my being an "almost" senior

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, why is the funeral in January?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

did I say January? my mistake - September 21st.
I don't know what I'm thinking.......

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Furnace is on .. it's a chilly 43F outside ..
On it's way to Betty, Karen and Dianne ..

Guess Katie has left for the north .. hope all goes well ..

Susan, good luck with a decision re travel to Wpg.

Dianne, how are you doing ?

I'm 'in a mood' .. sorta in 'political overload' .. our Federal Canadian election is in October .. kinda like the US Presidential one ... and, I am sick to death of hearing and seeing ads !!
Not unlike most governments, we has so real idiots running our country, and, the ones wanting to take over are really no better .. crying shame we let it go on ..

Best roust Lorna out of bed ..

Morning all....... have been up for hours. But I did get 3 hours of deep sleep, woo hoo.

It is a good chilly here this morning. I actually think if you have a garden you would have to cover your plants. The boys and I are thrilled with the lower temp.

Susan how did your 'meeting' go last night?

Need to go and make breakfast for the boys. They are fading away to a shadow.

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Cooler temps here "M" high of 67 feeling like 73 today with patches of rain.

I was up early, even went for a walk at 5am, aching and thought a walk might help..
Was thinking of getting fall decorations out, would have already done so but it was so dark and no hydro in back shed, just daybreak so will venture back there in a bit.. Missy has been begging for outside but I'm terrified some creature is looming and she will be gone like Riley so in she must stay, not sure she understands what I'm telling her. Lol

We had a secondary election last week "m" because of Mpp resigning only months after being elected grrrr. And yes I'm so tired of hearing about it..economy is or very near a recession and I'm not so sure whoever out there is worth taking a chance in..disappointing at choices

Just made my grocery list, have to head to town for accu-quilt die this aft so will get all my 'town to do's' done..maybe look for pumpkins and mums and make a few arrangements, get in the mood.

Susan, not a wonder your mind isn't with it..hope you were able to have a half decent nights rest..

Victoria Harbour, ON

I was up with you Dianne..sure hope you are able to have mini naps during to day to compensate for the hours you don't get during the night.

Sure is nice out there

Big smile, can't imagine your furries fading to a shadow

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I did sleep last night, Betty - thanks for asking. I woke up at 4:30 though and couldn't get back to sleep.
Our tenant, Marcel, has gone "off" on us - thinks Bob is rude, and that we were horrid to our "perfectly lovely" current landlords when I was stressing that her walking into our suite all the time, sometimes announced, sometimes not, and the financial burden they put on us was overwhelming. So now - I guess the help we were going to get from Marcel & Carolyn isn't going to happen. We're packing, moving & unpacking ourselves again. They'd said we weren't to lift a finger, but now Marcel is attacking us and saying some pretty horrid things.
Add to that, Bob's on casual now, from Sept 14 to Oct 2nd, and then "as needed", with no work scheduled after the 2nd. So, effectively losing his job.
We certainly cannot afford to have anyone do packing/moving, and we've put enough requests on the one fellow who helped us the last two times, so it won't happen again. Wondering how we'll move the piano.......... just Bob and.............. well, just Bob

Hugs to all in need

Susan you are in a pickle for sure. Moving is going to be difficult . I have a friend who crosses Canada doing shows ........ and her booth is huge to set up and tear down. She always has helps so I asked how did she get the help. When she gets to town she goes down to the Sally Ann or some other hostel, talks to the people who manage and then gets 2 - 3 guys. She makes sure they all get cleaned up and usually does not give then $$ until after her booth is down and her truck is packed. She gives them somewhere between $ 25 - $ 50 each. Check around and see if you can do something like that if you have time.

Beautiful weather today - cool but the sunny.

Beautiful Thinder

I'm going stateside in a few weeks, have a box to send you, who knows just maybe I'll be driving past you and we can meet up

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thanks, Dianne - that's an idea - we really need help moving the piano, and I'm sure they couldn't do any more damage than the moving company we last had........ especially with Bob around to help.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thunder, that is beautiful.

Heartbreaking the loss thunder, heart warming the return ...
Bless you and the family .. how are tings going for them this week .. I pray for better days ..

Have wanted to turn the TV on and watch some of the Memorials for 9 11 but, just can't bring myself to do it .. the events of that day, and, the ones following it are etched in my mind, and my heart forever more ..
The day brings such hurt to so many .. I can't watch it ..
I said a prayer for those left behind, hoping they can deal with the loss. and, injuries ..

Haven't said much on here, actually sorta been keeping this to myself .. this psoriatic arthritis that I have .. has firmly and excruciatingly ensconced itself in my left shoulder .. shoulder blade and neck :-(
When I flew in that small plane I did it NO good ..and, when we were delivering Anna Marie, the position I was in made the nerve pinch even more .. ya know .. I think WOMEN in general have higher pain tolerance levels ..
Anyway .. I stripped the beds today washed the sheets, and, BIG NO NO, hung them on the line .. stretching up to the line was NOT good.
So .. I am going to cool my jets this afternoon.(ya right)

Susan .. I am astounded, amazed, confused, bewitched, bothered and bewildered .. what in the heck is up with Marcel??
I think that there is simply too much stress there at the moment, perhaps you should have made the meeting for after your return from Wpg ..
I'm speechless

I think I best go take a pain med ..

Keeping all in my prayers too.

Norm had his oncology appointment today and all is well. No sign of anything and not due back for another six months. We are thrilled.

Got some fabric for Thunder's blocks an will get that done soon and mailed on Monday.

Head lowered as we pass the flags today at half staff. What a sad reminder of what today will always mean...

Off to figure out what to have for dinner..... Be good everyone....

Just getting ready to leave for town

I went through my photo's taken at 911 memorial, deep in thought as well

Great news Barb, bet you and Norm fret for weeks worrying about the outcome..Lord has bleeps see you both!

"m" feel your pain, think you undertook far too much knowing your health isn't the best..always trying to do your best but at some point you have to think of you first.

Sure hope the hot bath works.

Did hand sewing all day, just a strip quilt with leftovers but I like front and back, decided to make this one my blanket for couch times lol

Feel I've lost a day with cleaning all day yesterday and only got shelves looking tidy..just know by weekends end it will be just as bad, will try to keep it neat but I know me and I know the other gals

Went into back shed, found 2 totes re fall and Halloween, found the fall quilts, few fall decorations but nowhere could I find the trio pumpkin glasses I did, wonder if I gave them all away, do have another set base coated, will finish them off but sure wish I'd find my hiding place
😕

YAY for Norm, always good news that.

Today is always a rough day. So remember my sis calling me to turn on the TV. A plane had struck the World Trade Center. We sat together on the phone watching in horror for hours.
The loss of life was horrendous.

The designer of the World Trade Center was Minoru Yamasaki. He lived in Troy where I did and I went to school with his daughter.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - Marcel has come around again - I sent him a long FB message telling him that everything is not all black & white, and that Grace & Robert's sons were saying that their parents were taking advantage of us, knowingly. I think also that Marcel must have talked to his Carolyn, because this morning he was his old self again, telling me that we're a kind old couple (us? old? ok......) who have treated them with principals and never gave them 3 months notice to vacate when we rant into difficulties at our last place. (yup, Carolyn talked to him, I'm sure "you said WHAT to them, Marcel???? with what they're going through? omg......" I can just hear her - she's out of town, visiting relatives, before they move to the UK).
I thanked him for his kind words, and we'll go from there.
Bob's home for the day, and I'm making lunch. chat later

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think we all know where we were that dreadful morning..glad I visited the site.

Susan, you've been under a lot of stress, may just let some of it slide for now, soon you will be in your home, alone and won't have to deal with these issues.

Went to town, was nice out, had opened all the windows, came back and Lordy think I should put the furnace on..what a change.

All set for the weekend, groceries, craft supplies, treats, what more could one want lol

Would like to make 1 run with the die cutter I picked up but don't know if I have enough energy to go downstairs 😏

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Barb, I am glad to hear the good news about Norm.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks ladies regarding your good wishes for Norm. He is soooo worth keeping around as he is a blessing to all...
Getting Sean tomorrow and he will be glued to the computer so I can work on Thunder's blocks. Got some frozen fabric today (like Karen's) so that will work....
Off to do the breathing machine. Have a good night all~~~~~~

I wish I could go be at my sister's funeral, but with Bob's impending job loss, it's not to be.......
