Been up for several hours, sitting with coffee in hand working on the Santa sleigh, it's been sitting around far too long

Heck "M" 7 hr plane ride, where to heck were you?? Quite the adventure..remember the show 'fly doctor' I think it was, where he and nurse travelled all over giving aid to those in remote areas?? Hmm I was young when it was on, might have been a different name

Have the Santa base coated, waiting for it to dry then will paint in the details..always motivated by a challenge. Lol

Susan, had hoped to see you posting that you did have the meeting and all went well..

Katie did the storm pass you buy and you are heading to California?

Made it back yesterday afternoon. Hopefully when this boy goes home, his owner will meet me at least half way! Everyone is settling in fine.
I hope all went well with your meeting, Susan. I would be a nervous wreck just waiting for it, even knowing I was in the right.

I have an appointment at 11, for an ultrasound on my bladder and kidney to see why I can't go potty. My Dr put me on vesicare last month to try to control my over active bladder, and now I can hardly go. I only took the med 3 days, because it made me stop going.

Susan, please post. Even if it went badly we want to hear from you.

It's raining here so I'm holding off on leaving . People don't know how to drive in the rain. In San Diego when I was there in December they had 10 times as many accidents as usual when it rained!! The hurricane has moved on.

Here I am, paints upstairs playing with Santa, knitting beside me trying to finish the neck warmer and just finished cutting out the bride and groom insert..from time to time I work my way downstairs and do a row of quilting...right now I a, yawning, think a nap is in order

I heard from my daughter Michelle, and niece Kathy - my sister Alice is not expected to last the morning - at the "no visitors" stage.

Last night we were ready to meet with Grace & Robert at 7:30, and our tenant Marcel came, but they didn't show up until after he left at 9:30 - they came at 9:40 and Bob went to the door, told them the meeting was over and shut the door. They knocked again, gave him 2 t-shirts they got us from Malaysia, and then Bob told them even Marcel had left.
Grace phoned and left a message saying it was a surprise to hear that Marcel had been here.
I emailed, saying it didn't make any difference if Marcel was here or not, they came close to the time when we said we didn't want visitors - 10pm. This is unacceptable.
She called this morning, after I'd been emailing with Michelle & Kathy and told Grace "you have a cold, and I'm grieving (told her why), but we have to meet tonight - I can't talk right now, and will see you tonight". By the time they arrive, I might be in mourning, but this has to be done right away.
I don't think it makes any difference about Marcel being here, except that they might have respected his time and come when asked, but as they thought it was just us, they came when they did. She was doing dishes, and he had a shower, instead of coming at 7:30. They're being disrespectful, and I won't put up with it.

Hugs Susan, so sorry about Alice. I cannot understand the no visitors, someone who loves her should be with her.

Grace is being rude...surprise...but I'm guessing she knows what is up and is avoiding the situation. So glad you will be away from all that soon.

So sorry to hear the update on Alice, Susan. My prayers are with you all, as she makes this journey.

We had a fairly common experience this morning. The electrician who misinstalled the split left an extension cord here. When he came to pick it up he gave Tony a "bill" stating I still owed him about $100. I had paid him what he asked for when he finished what he did and showed me the part that was ruined -that was later replaced by someone else. For some reason electricians here often try this: they give you a price, you pay it and then they come back and say you need to pay more. It's annoying but it's happened before so I told Tony to tell the man I'd paid what he asked for at the time and I'm not paying any more. He left with no big fuss. Tony and I laugh about it but it's annoying. We don't like confrontations. Not as bad as what Susan is dealing with but similar.

It's still raining here so I'm here for the day. May be able to leave in the morning. It's a nice soaking rain so I'm working on being grateful and ignoring any pain so I'll have enough pain pills left for the trip.

Linda Kay, Hope the doctor can help. I'm usually up once or twice a night to pee but am fortunate its not a problem. Seems if it's not one thing it's another. I'm so glad we have each other to understand and commiserate.

Marilynne, No more small planes. Too scary and we need you here.

my sister Ruth went over to tell Mom this morning. I guess she expected it, because she only said "oh". Kind of tough to think of words atm.
I'm still in shock, I guess.
Bob wants to take me out for a drive, not far from here. I'll chat later.

Meg doing much better, she said no big coughing fits today. !! Girls went to bed last night with no problems. Things getting better by the day...

Thank you all. I'm still in shock - just heard she was in hospital, yesterday. Great report from my daughter Michelle, on Alice, then next morning, she's gone......

Had a meeting with Grace & Robert - upshot is, they will give us Sept rent-free, gave us $400 for the plumbing and looking after Remy, and will no longer come into our place unannounced or so often. Marcel was a gem, being there and diffusing a lot of what could have been an emotional roller coaster (them still with jet lag, and me heart-sick about Alice). He told them that he's moving into an apt in the neighbourhood, to give us back our home. Grace & Robert would lower the rent to keep us here, but they couldn't afford to lower it as much as we save by moving into our own mobile home with no one else in the building. We will have the privacy we value.

So glad that is settled Susan. I am so sorry about your sister. She is now in a wonderful place.

Kati, we did not get any of the storm but California did.

Still a little down in the dumps but my leg muscle pain has dissipated so much, it is actually fascinating watching. I have talked to several individuals that went off their meds, did well for a while and then went over the cliff.

Puppies, had a good birthday. They had some of Vern's bacon from breakfast and I gave them extra chicken with their dinner. They had two walks and we saw one of the baby owls from last year, twice today. I can always find them in the trees because they leave such a mess on the sidewalk, so I just look upward and they are usually there. If not for the mess, you would never know they were there.

Marilyn, you can send me some apple pie, warm, with some vanilla ice cream. I am a good cook but do not bake.

We had 105 today but LA was hotter. Now that had to be miserable with humidity. Then they got big time rain. Weird weather.

Marilyn, that is one giant sunflower. Betty you should get some seed now and toss it around before winter. They will just lie there and germinate in the spring.

I have a lunch tomorrow for a friend's 60th birthday. They are delaying it until 1:30pm so I can have Vern settled before I join them. He has not felt well for the last two days. Just says he feels weird with no energy. But he ate well. Hard to figure out what to do.

I need to go clean up the kitchen and start the dishwasher before bed. You all have a wonderful day tomorrow. Hugs, Sharon
