Lindakay, want to cry, next year I should change date for trip, Elvis Festival is same week we are away Bo hoo so enjoyed it

I have traditional washer/dryer, don't mind them

Problem with dishwashers that haven't been used Susan is the seals dry up and they leak..

Girls just left, had a great day chatting and sewing(pat)/painting(ann)/doing a window (June) ..everyone was doing their own thing, tired out now

Street is just a humming, across the street is getting new windows/door,nbeside me on one side, decks being painted, other side shed being built, 2 door up across the street getting new decks and on and on

I had some quilt packages made up, Pat was doing the projects, oops one piece missing so I just got the other 4 out and checking them out, all ok

Called Greg to come and drop in tomorrow night and pick up supper, he dropped off my container he took chicken and sliders home with last week, said not enough sliders (oops Jeff took most of them) lol so I promised one night this week to do another batch..will make him lemon meringue pie and one for me as well..

I'm hot and tired and grumpy. So much to do and no ambition. Must take van for electrical work. Tomorrow.

I just picked a pod of adenium seeds from my Walmart plant. One of my better purchases.

Also, I have four seedling jackfruit plants and am expecting more. Get a new one every day or two. Gave one to my friends Manuel and Araley. They have a farm and a store. Lots of mangoes now.

The dragonfruit continue to do well. Lots of flower buds.

If someone that you care about goes off on you - unreasonably- and then wants to pretend it didn't happen what do you do? It makes me nuts - and grumpy. I don't forget - it just reminds me of many of my crazy relatives who would get drunk, rant and rave, everyone would pussyfoot around for a few days and then we'd all pretend it didn't happen. Until it happened again. And again. I'm sick of being a person that some people think it's OK to go off on. It is NOT OK.

Betty, go to a chiropractor. He can adjust your back, and stop that pain.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, I did learn WE all have bad days so I let it go as hard as that is at times
I think 'if this is my last day on earth, precious hours and seconds, is this how I want to spent It? Nope, double no" and just move on

I've been training myself as well, if I start thinking about something thatupsetsnem causes me street sto and say with hands on hip as judywould say "I don't want to be in this room of my own" change train of thought and I'm amazedathow my frameofmind changes..now the odd time it's harder but tends to work

So wish I could see photo's of your crop

No time before I leave Friday, seems to come and go depending what I'm doing

Missy is looking at me, patiently waiting, wants treats

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Jeeze Betty .. I sure hope you can mend up that boo boo ..

Katie .. my BFF and myself have had those 'periods of occlusion' .. we don't talk or see one another, and, eventually one or the other of us calls the other to go for coffee, at which time, we hug and say how much we have missed each others company ..we rarely go backwards and delve into what brought us to a point where we 'shut down'.

Just downloaded a couple of pics of 2 of my best hanging baskets .. gotta luv Sweet Potato VIne :-)
Of course, one of the the dogs doing what they best .. MOOCHING from Gordon LoL

Morning!

So sad it take so long to get in to see the Dr. Maybe someone will cancel, and call her in?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

2 more sleeps..

Sunshine day today, nice breeze
Maria who sews with us on Thursday nights asked if she could come this morning and finish her project and get something to work on while we are away, didn't have the heart to say no, she will be here at 10 and likely till noon then hope to play in the gardens

Saw a few trees have grown where I don't want them so while they are no more than 2 or 3 feet and ground is wet I can transplant them at property line, mustn't forget Greg and Mel coming tonight for supper, would be me to forget to cook it 😉

Slept in and yet I'm still finding the morning long so I played with crayons, something silly to give the girls showing them over our last years of road trips which states they've been in..so laugh, they are not that knowledgeable on which states we've been to so this will give them a visual

"m" your planters are lovely and look at those cutie pies, no doubt they know who will give them food treats..was telling pat yesterday missy really likes her treats, goes out just to come back in to get them..last few weeks I've been giving her ham, chicken for treats, yesterday while I was making ham sandwich I gave her treats, she turned her nose at them and begged for ham..they sure learn quickly

Will have to call mom to see how she is making out with her dentures

To those lurking, we miss you posting

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - thanks for the heads up on dishwasher seals drying up and leaking......
I'll look into that right away. Are they replaceable?
Harold is coming today (I'm picking him up at 10:30 this morning), to work on the kitchen. He first said he would work on it July 10th...... well, it's a free thing he's doing, so I cannot complain, even though I have been LOL
I'm really pleased you mentioned the dishwasher before it was installed, Betty!!!
Grace had said if it's not "fixable" she'd get a nicer one for us. Depending on whether it can be fixed, we just may take her up on this.

Blessings to you all - take care

Realized my grumpy mood was like the flu and was probably partly due to a reaction to all the ant bites. Then when I went to bed - more ants!!! And almost no bug spray. I threw a fit. Lucky for Tony he was not home and could not hear what I had to say to him. This morning first thing I explained calmly that when he uses up the bug spray he needs to be sure we have more.

Parts of my body are raw from scratching.

Tony redeemed himself - a lot - by finding the burned out light bulbs that are probably causing the electrical problems.

I'm having problems similar to Susan's. So much stuff it's hard to get started on organizing. I told Tony we really need to keep after the bugs and mice.

One a more positive note, another jackfruit seed has sprouted and other DGers have said the trees may fruit in about five years.

If the mice and bugs don't get me before then I may live to see jackfruit here.

hugs, katie

Better to find out if it's a leaker before it gets hooked up.
Washer won't be here until Sat. But I have 5 kids here, cannot wait that long. Fortunately the house next door, which used to be my parents, was bought by very nice people who use it as a weekly rental in the summer. This week no one is there so I can go do a few loads. My hubby is the go-to for anyone staying there so they are happy to return the favor.

mulege, Mexico

I still have my wringer washer under my flame tree which is blooming now. My laundry gets showered with red petals.

Last night I decided where I wanted to put the Jacaranda tree which I've had in a pot for over a year. Planted it in the evening. The tap root is all twisted like a corkscrew. I loosened the soil around it and left the water dripping on it all night.

My hands are itching from bug bites. These ants are nasty - they have painful bites that leave red welts.

I think I need ice cream for breakfast.

hugs, katie

Katie, you definitely NEED ice cream for breakfast.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope you enjoyed it Katie!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maria just left, fixings on the stovefor supper, making pies so today is just flying by..

Oh Katie, sorry the bugs are feasting on you, what do you use for bug spray?m with the gals, think you need a gallon not just a bowl of ice cream

Karen, was thinking about how you would manage with all those kiddies and washing..keep them in bathing suits. Lol
Glad you have a washer at your disposal.

Barb, I won't be too far from you right? Must check that out not that we can visit but I can waves

Oops pie crusts say come take me out of oven before we burn

They will be heading to the lake as soon as Bumpa gets back. He had to drop Lacey at the vet. He goes down and fishes while they swim. I can go down but back up is nearly impossible so I watch from the deck.
Just to the right of where the kids are is the dock and pontoon boat.

Absolutely beautiful Karen, no wonder they want to spend summer holidays with you.
Too bad the elders of your children couldn't buy and keep the place.

Betty would agree to a walker? They take up little space and provide a space to sit and rest when the hurt gets too bad.

Gray day today - no but no rain.
.
Going to get some red and blue raspberries tomorrow - figure I will be able to eat those.

The kayak showed up two years ago in the spring. Many things show up here as we are on the windward side of the lake. As usual we tied it up in plain sight and waited for it to be claimed, usually takes a week or so. No takers this time maybe because seats are missing or owners might have moved. I finally bought paddles and the kids are having a ball. If the owners ever do show up we will gladly give it back but in the meantime.......

We've gotten boats, docks, kayaks, and various water toys from time to time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same when we were on the lake Karen, we were just in the right spot...so glad my boys had the opportunity of growing up on the lake

Dianne, she does have a walker, I will bring the inject up, I truly think she should..

I don't have ice cream for all of you in stress and those not stressing but enjoying the day, coffee/tea is on, hand me your plate and I'll cut you a slice of lemon meringue pie.

Dianne, watch those little seeds in the berries.

Holding out my plate. ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

True lindakay, they drive me crazy..annoying as hell!

Verona, ON

Chaos had a party sometime during the night and didn't invite me. There was shredded paper everywhere except the BR. This really made me laugh because of FB I saw a video of of a puppy escaping during the night at a shelter. I hope Chaos was not looking over my shoulder when I watched it .Duke 1 night when he was a pup of managing getting a closet door open and spreading all of their raw hide chewies store there.

LK I was wondering about the seeds but my mouth is watering for them. Doc said to make sure to rinse the plate after everything I eat. I brush at least 3 times a day so I am used to that routine. He told me to get a small brush to scrub the plate

I have ice cream - enough for everyone. When I was in town on Mon I bought 2 tubs of Chapman's Black Cherry ice cream - my fav and hard to get.

Karen I love the photo. Looks a lot like here.

Dogs have been fed so off we go for a walk. Won't be long though as my mouth is a really hurting place today. Yes M I do the saltwater rinse. I don't mind as I love salt. Shhh don't tell anyone but in my other life I swear I was the cow that wouldn't move from the salt block.

Me, me, me! I want lemon meringue pie! And I want to eat it sitting with Karen on her deck!

I have meatloaf and au gratin potatoes in the oven. I made broccoli salad, too. I have cucumbers in mayo/vinegar/sugar left over from yesterday. Hmmmmm.....now wouldn't a piece of pie just top that off? Hand it over, Betty!

Katie, you're making me squirm here in Ohio just talking about all your ant bites! I got stung by a ground hornet on Saturday. Of man, did that ever hurt!

M, looks like there's more than one pup mooching! Love your baskets. We've had so much rain it's washing the nitrogen out of the soil. Everything is struggling here.

Won't be long now, Betty!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Supper has been had, a hit, Greg left with leftover (cooked enough to feed 10) except for a dinner for freezer for mom and enough for me tomorrow.

He had a pizza stone made, anxious on his outdoor fireplace to make a pizza oven, had 50mi journey to pick it up, had to be tonight because he wanted to order supplies, weekend project, he is mamma's boy, always doing/making something..left with a pie as well so happy camper..said he was going to phone his brother and say "ha/ha, guess what mom made me" lol

Joyce your dinner sounds lovely as well

Dianne, you are doing very well with your teeth, sounds as though you've graduated to solid food, berries, well not so solid..hope you get to eat the. The thundering herd is quite the bunch..lots of laughs I bet

mulege, Mexico

Had to take the van to town for the electrician after all. Tony will admit when he's stumped which I appreciate. Two or three men worked on the van for three plus hours. The bill was $35!! One great thing about Mexico.

Came home and slept solidly for about two hours.

I was upset about my depleted bank account, then reminded myself that I paid for our land, bought four new tires (at Walmart) and paid off a grocery bill of about $500 which my friend Saul had run for me while I was getting the money for the land together. He is a day to day operation and has a large family so I paid him as soon as I got the land paid off. To pay the land in installments would have cost us a lot more.

Anyway, I'm trying to cut myself some slack. Will get retirement money next week and will feel flush again, But I have to go north for medical tests and meds. Probably the end of next week.

Anyway, now I can have my ice cream for dinner.

hugs, katie

Think we all do that Katie, don't give each other enough credit for our accomplishments and are mega hard on ourself..if we listened to others telling us the same tale we'd be so full of compassion for them so yes, have your ice cream and know you deserve it!

.

My shot was this morning and I was home by 8:30am and went back to bed and slept until 10:30. The phone ran an woke me up. I did not answer it but I was then awake. When I got up I had minimum pain so I took two Motrin and got my ice pack. Headed to the patio with a cup of tea, the dogs breakfast, both phones and a glass of Pepsi. I probably sat there for over an hour. Then I got up, took my shower, curled my hair, walked the dogs and then took off to see Vern.

I have had no further Motrin and no new pain. My daughter said I was walking entirely different. You know how you walk or stand when you have pain. 23 individuals there this morning getting this shot. I had the name of the procedure and now I cannot the paper. Might be in the car or on Vern's bed because I used the bag from the surgical center to take him his clean clothes.

Neurologist came by this afternoon and said fluid was dissipating very slowly and has probably started to refill the brain cavity. He said whatever Neurologist we choose, they will probably suggest the shunt. And then he suggested a Nero-surgeon, no matter what Neurologist we choose.

He had no PT this afternoon and none tomorrow and they are letting him sleep in so I think they have decided he needs the shunt and have stopped PT but no one has said anything. But my guess he will be coming home on Friday. They are concentrating on his toilet and dressing abilities. Of course, his daughter is putting in her two cents so I told her and her Dad to let me know what they decide. And surgery while I was in Newport would probably be good because she would be here to supervise. That got her attention right away and had to go.

Now I will go read the above posts.

Well Betty, one more day. How long are you going to be gone? And where are you going?

I got up really early this morning and I am crashing. I was going to comment but I would not make any sense. I will return tomorrow. Hug, Sharon

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Mornin :-)

Looks to be (even in the dark) to be another beauty summer day with highs in the upper 80s, and, NO HUMIDITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sharon, you had a hecuva busy day yesterday .. LOVE the comment to the daughter re you being in Newport when Vern has the surgery so she can hold down the fort .. brilliant !!!
Happy to hear your shot is working .. was it cortisone ..? I know there's another 'shot' out there, for the life of me I can't remember the name ..

Betty .. where's your first stop on the great adventure of 2015?

Katie .. hate hearing about those ants .. my AUNT (lived in Florida) used to warn us about the 'fire ants' .. saw someone with their afterbites and listened !! Murray was only a small child when we used to go there in the winter .. I was UBER vigilant !!

Have an apt with my rheumatologist today .. I tend to think I will quite likely be having to have xrays of my back/L shoulder .. even shaved my legs for the event LoL .. he always looks at my feet and toes ..

Lorna's wasp bite has gone Chernobyl!!!!!!! She actually looked like a Star Trek character yesterday .. huge swollen area over her right eye .. puffy eyes, the whole 9 yards ..
Hopefully she'll be better this morning ..

Waving hello to all

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
Another gorgeous day here 72 (feels like 77) with light breeze
Was so nice sleeping with the windows open.
Would have had a better sleep had Marriott Hotels not called with recording of a sales pitch at 10:38..not first night they do this, will make a point in calling them to ask that I be taken off their list.

Sharon, sorry to hear Vern may needs surgery but your being in less pain is a plus..step daughters, the approach you took with her made me smile, smart lady you are, she soon will stop meddling or take completely over his care so you can take care of you!

Today I will be cleaning day, get lawns cut and go through last minute list of to do's
Tomorrow is "D" day.

Must call mom and see what's happening, if she is able to come or if I have to make alternate arrangements

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I know you are headed to the east coast, but I to would like to know your plans, so we can follow along with you.

"M", tell Lorna to take a benadryl.

mulege, Mexico

I had a horrible wasp bite here. It's been a lot of years but I can still remember the pain and swell and attacked me. Like a hornet - it wasn't threatened it just launched itself out of an overgrown palm tree and into my shoulder. Cannot imagine how awful it is by Lorna's eye.

No ants last night but I'm sick. Flu-like symptoms and I suspect its the aftermath of all those ant bites. Painful and venomous. Hard to surrender to the need to take it easy until whatever it is passes.

Dianne, hope all is well with your new teeth soon.

I'm in a fog. Stomach upset and feeling yukky. Better than pain but sometimes that's hard to remember.

Back later.

hugs, katie

On the campus of UT in Knoxville there is this huge rock which has been painted countless times. The first pic. is my Grandson (long hair in the middle) and his Destination Imagination team in 2007 at the World Competition.

Second picture is what just happened to the rock....most of the paint just slid off. Newspaper wants to do a write up on some of the rock paintings and asked for photos.
