Thanks, Terri - much appreciated
Marilynne - sleep well
Betty - almost time to Travel!!!!!!! Bet you're looking forward to just getting away - so much going on at home with your friends & family........
Well, Bob's put up most of our huge computer desk (if you remember, it's 8' long x 78" high x 32" deep), so both of us can sit at it. He sold his corner computer desk to Grace. He's just trying to attach the light - not an easy task. Air's not turning blue, but it could......
Morning all, not raining at the moment but sky's heavy, more to fall
Happy Birthday Debbie, sure hope you have a sunshine day and it's special in some way..you sure deserve it.
It's my Linda's birthday as well
Would have been Roger, dh's birthday, can't imagine him being 72
Happy Birthday Deb. I hope the future holds so much good just for you.....XOXOXO
Happy BDay Debbie :-) Enjoy
We were to have rain, but, seems it went to Betty .. kinda dreary out right now, which means MUGGY !!
Have a good mind to crawl back into bed, and, I think I will ..
Still feeling weary :-(
BBL
~M~
Happy birthday Debbie, get out and do something for YOU. Many hugs
Happy Birthday Debbie,
Supposed to be 90 & muggy here today. I won't mind so much, but everyone else will complain.
Muggy here as well, heat alert on so closed up the windows and turned the air off
Suzanne called me at 7:30am. She was in a better frame of mind, disappointed but knows her health comes first..think it was partly that she thought she was on the mend but apparently not, still needs mega care
She will drop in later this afternoon for a visit.
Was up/down good part of the night so I fired some glass, going to head out into backyard and see what glass blocks I have and do a few
Darlene will call when she is at her new home, still only partially moved in and I'll drive over for a visit
That's about it for me!
Happy birthday, Debbie. Make it a good one.
I took a second nap of about two hours yesterday, then slept all night. Not feeling my best but we all hang in and do what we can. Right?
I'm in kind of a weepy mood. I think, Like Suzanne, I'm accepting some limitation which I'd rather not have.
Need to do my letter to the head of the San Diego IRS office, commending his employees. Other than that, I've no pending business.
I really miss Jennybear. She was always happy. And silly. Had the knack of enjoying life and reminding me to do the same.
hugs, katei
Hard to accept our limitations, I kept complaining to the Drs. that they made a useless old woman out of me. Slowly it's getting better..
Stress to Suzanne that you would rather keep her around for longer than risk her health.
Happy Birthday, Debbie! Wishing you a wonderful day!
No A/C in the car, yet. Said they could fit it in today, if I could leave it, but my company is having our annual company picnic this afternoon, and I don't know that I'd get my car back in time. I'm not really looking forward to the picnic, it's supposed to be mid90's and humid, but, some of the big shots from the headquarters are here, so must put in an appearance.
Saying prayers for Ann, and for strength for your DD and DSIL, Susan.
Deb
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes.
Some very good fresh waffles for breakfast and coffee started the day off right.
Happy Birthday, Debbie!! You're an awesome lady, and deserve a wonderful birthday!!!!!
Thank you for the kind thoughts, re: Ann, my DD and DSIL, momcat :-)
Still haven't heard anything, but I expect that emailing is not on their minds right now, whatever is or has happened
Muggy here as well, heat alert on so closed up the windows and turned the air off

I would bet the glass blocks would be pretty with the dragon flies and lights inside. Would be for summer then.
Likely would, will have to try another one
Went into midland to see Darlene's new place, all I can say is wow and double wow, kitchen to die for, fireplace that acts as a dividing wall between kitchen and living room, know she will enjoy this place
Thought I would shop for a few things I need, Drats forgot my wallet at home
It's one heck of a hot/humid day!
Glad that Darlene has such a beautiful place
Betty - your wallet? Does it have your driver's licence and everything in it?
Yep..thought I picked it up, then I remembered phone rang, answered then rushed out..just as well, sewing shop right across from bank, that is when I noticed it was missing as I wanted to make deposit.
Oh well
oh oh......... everyone - Betty's driving illegally LOL shhhhhhhhh no one tell the police, please LOL
We are having a thunderstorm!!!
Very unusual. Max the dog is looking a little concerned, But he and Twink are both with me. I think Scout is in the bedroom. Nice to have mellow dogs.
We had a short blackout and may have more. I have candles and s propane burner at hand.
Let it rain! We can always use it.
hugs, katie
hooray - it's going to cool down for you, Katie!!!!!!!
... and give the thirsty ground a drink.......
You are indeed lucky Katie, my Sailor was so frightened, she would just shake and cry.
You are well prepared, everything you need should power go out for awhile, smart lady!
Oh Susan I'd use the old lady excuse, absent minded me had police stopped me. Lol
88 here with feels like 102
Debbie, great breakfast now hope the rest of the day is as wonderful.
Katie, we are getting part of the same storm. It has hit the valley but nothing near us. California is going to get it big time tonight but that is a good thing if it doesn't flood. Glad you are catching up on your sleep and all will fall into place for you soon.
Getting my driver's license renewal was bugging me mentally for weeks. It was such a relief to have it behind me. When that alarm went off at 6am I moaned and groaned but I immediately got up because I did not want to put it off one more day.
Happy birthday Debbie. Miss seeing you posting.
Vern is on his first day of physical therapy at rehab. Yesterday was all evaluation and prep. I am going at 3pm when he should be done and will have dinner with him. I am excited to find out how he did. Rehab Doctor pulled me aside yesterday and told me to stop answering questions for him and stop waiting on him hand and foot. Make him take care of himself. So right after that the rehab doctor and nurse came in and Vern could not answer the majority of their questions and kept looking for me to do so.
Then the test came when he could not reach his lotion and told me he could not reach it. I told him he just needed to move his wheelchair around a little and he could get it. Then with pouting he said, , "Well I don't need it anyway". And I just kept reading the paper. And out of the corner of my eye I could see him moving his wheelchair and finally was able to retrieve it. The doctor called this "tough love".
Susan, so glad things are coming together for you and Bob. And I bet your landlady would let you help a little with the landscape.
Betty I went to the store the other day with my purse but all of my credit cards were on the table. I carry them in my purse with a rubber band around them. When I went to pay, no credit cards. Thank goodness I had a secret stash of cash in my purse. But I too was driving without my license.
Betty that is a pretty glass block. Now what do you do with it? Well Betty I am 72 and will be 73 in a few weeks. Except for my recent back problems, still going strong.
I walked across the street to talk to a neighbor that was outside and he commented on my font landscape. I turned around and was amazed how it was holding it's blooms up high loving the cooler weather. So I came inside, got my camera and went back and took a photo from across the street. They can actually see my landscape better than I can.
I have been chasing a yellow bird with my camera for a few hours but cannot get him to land long enough to get a photo. I did get a good look at him through the binoculars. We get really excited in Las Vegas with yellow birds because the majority of our birds are brown.
Marilyn, hope you are having a chance to sit back an relax.
Karen, so glad you are getting back on your feet.
Well I need to get ready to go see Vern. Big blooms are hardy hibiscus. They will grow in areas that freeze. First two photos are from middle of the street in front of the house. Yes, Betty, unusual landscape for the middle of the desert. Composted black soil and a lot of mulch. Need a lot of mulch when you have little water.
I'll start with saying how absolutely breathtaking your gardens are Sharon, so tropical..know where I would be spending my time
It's. Really tough love to see your loved one struggling and not helping, would think the doc is right to some degree, if you do it all for him he will not make the effort to try himself ..still..hard to do
Hope you had good news when visiting today!
Now days 72 is young, Lordy see so many celebration articles in newspaper re celebrating 100th birthday.
The block I make tomorrow will sit on end table on back porch, battery operated lights inside will give a soft glow and yet not attract skitters. Bought birthday bad and card for Linda so when I pick her up Friday for our trip I'll drop it off.
Just cooked fresh corn, doing steak so while I'm cooking I'm firing another batch of glass pieces so tomorrow I can do my block
Calling for much the same weather tomorrow so need a project. Lol
Sharon, your gardens are beautiful. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery for Vern.
Sharon - your gardens are truly gorgeous..... the one 3rd from the end.... looks like an hibiscus I grew, called Cleo de Nuit, or something like that - white outer, with deep purple inside. Grew to 6ft tall, in a pot.
I'm not really holding it together today. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks without a proper kitchen - no cupboards, counter, or sink........... I have a stove, a fridge, and a microwave. I also have a washer/dryer that's not hooked up, and same for dishwasher. Everything needs to be hooked up.
Got someone coming tomorrow, to cut our countertops so they're 45% mitred. Harold was to have come today, but got caught waiting at home for someone to come by - they never showed. I guess he's coming tomorrow.
I've been doing a bit of crying...... it's coming up 2 weeks, and I feel so out of sorts without the ability to do dishes, and therefore cook. Difficult preparing anything with no counters. I don't like living out of boxes, when I don't even know what's in the boxes - good thing we have paper plates, cuz I can't find our dishes. Found the cutlery on Friday night, finally. It was thrown into a box, and the tray left in the drawer..........
Yeah, I'm out of sorts, have a major headache that won't go away, and crying sprees.......
Hot dogs for dinner, cereal for breakfast...... and usually nothing for lunch - don't feel much like eating.
Susan, I would like to fly there and stomp that guy, that drove you away from your last place, like a roach. I can see the headlines. Senior citizen flies to town to stomp on local man......District Attorney deemed it justifiable.
Visit with Vern was good. We went to the dining room. There was a guy at the table that made Vern look like a prince. Oh, if I had to live with that guy I think I would shoot myself.
Adding insult to injury. The people that got stuck on I-15 between here and Los Angeles, had to abandon their cars because of the fire. They were removed from the freeway by the police and the fire department. They were bused somewhere and then told when and where they could pick up their cars. When they got to the place their cars were, they had a bill of $1600 for towing. Negotiated down to $500. Totally outrageous. Not to many people walking around with an extra $500. Thank God California had some rain today in the exact spot of the fire.
Animals are fed and I am watching the national news. I made fresh tomato pasta sauce yesterday so that is what I had for dinner over a toasted piece of sour dough bread. Not a lot of food but very tasty.
I bet you guys in Canada are laughing at us regarding our Presidential candidates. What a joke.
I am going to bed early. And thanks so much for the comments on my garden but Betty, if you have a garden like this in the desert, you have no time to sit in it. Hugs, Sharon
lol Thank you, Sharon - you made me laugh & smile today - didn't think that was possible. I've been a real sourpuss so far. Picturing you stomping Mike - wouldn't take much - he's not that big - about 5'9, and slender built. He's just got a nasty temper.
There's a presidential election coming up? Didn't know - haven't watched TV for last 2 weeks, until last night when we got TV hooked up - no place to put it until then.......
Susan, it is in November 2016 but they get a head start and OMG it is awful. I think I will have to move to Canada. I think there are 16 people running for the Republican side nomination. And yes, Susan, I am funny. Remember, I was raised by watching Don Rickles, Jerry Lewis and "The Rat Pack" when I was very young. I have a good delivery. Learned from watching the expert in comedy.
lol oh yeah, and Bill Cosby "my brother russell, whom I sleep with"
Yeah, some good comedians there
I'm usually funny too - just been a strain lately. Moving twice in 2 weeks was enough, even without the stress behind it.
Morning all
Been in the craft room for a bit now trying to settle back into bed and maybe make it until 8am
Susan, you must look at it as an adventure, camping of sorts which you enjoy..might keep you sane without totally breaking down.soon this will be behind you. How does Bob cope with the crying?? He must feel so bad..exhausted he must be, likely he would like to cry as well.lets hope life gets easier for you.
Sharon, yep, raised in much of same era..those entertainers were worth watching, I listen now and there is just too much swearing for me.
Was good news about Vern Sharon..if he continues to improve will he be home by next weekend? Bet you are looking forward to your vacation? 5 more sleeps and I start mine..Suzanne every year would start a few weeks early and send out daily reports as to how many sleeps left, between she and Linda updates galore, this year well we are just heartbroken..hope we can shake our way out of this
Haven't looked to see if there are changes in weather forecast for today, does look overcast.
Noticed on my walkabout of the gardens my phlox are starting to bloom but did notice a lot of them have rust due too much rain and humidity..won't give me the show I usually get
So what are you all up to today, something spectacular?
Why were you up so early?
I was up at 4 with an upset stomach. Took a few tums and went back to bed at 6. Just got up.
Just sleepless, did go back to sleep until close to 9am
No air outside, sure appreciate having a/c
Is your tummy better, caused by meds..
Probably the meds. Much better now!
We are cloudy today and high is going to be 90. That is beautiful weather for us.
I went to bed at 9:30pm and slept until 7:30am. I do not even remember my head hitting the pillow. At 7:30 I got up and walked around to get te pain out of my right leg. Probably from sleeping in one position all night long. Then I got back in bed and then woke up at 8:30am, did the same thing and went back to bed and slept till 10am. Strange thing, is the third time I get up my leg does not hurt half as bad as the first two and this happens every morning. I just do not usually have the ability to sleep so late.
I have had my shower, curled my hair, fed myself and the animals and given the dogs a bath. Now I am headed to give them a walk and then take off for rehab. They have Bingo at 3:30. I have some of Vern's clothes in the wash and will wait for them to dry.
Betty, it is so sad Suzanne cannot go because she had probably already started her calendar.
Linda, how is your weather. Sorry about your tummy. I get that pill upset occasionally but not often.
When I went out to get the paper this morning, there was a dead rabbit in the middle of the road right in front of the house. So I got some throwaway gloves and a bag and now have a dead rabbit in my garbage. Garbage day is not until Tuesday. Any suggestions what I can put n the bag to help with the decay odor.
Phoenix got our rain but they also got flash floods. Right now there are big clouds building up West of us but it is no hot enough to soup them up.
Susan, hoping you are having a great day.
I am off to alk the dogs and then go to rehab. Hugs to you all. Sharon
Betty - This adventure is going on for way too long, and when we're camping we have the outdoors space as well - here, well some of our stuff is outside and ruined from the rain, including some of our wedding memories like our wedding album, furniture, etc....

Sharon, it is 101 today, again... and humid.
As far as the dead rabbit, just put it in several plastic bags, and hope it does not get too stinky before pick up. Maybe put some baking powder in there?
Put the rabbit in the freezer !!!
We put all of our garbage in the freezer, otherwise it would be terrible.
