Chat in the a.m.

Vern has fallen twice today so I am up late. I read everything but will need to answer tomorrow. Thank God Susan and hubby will be moved by this time tomorrow.

I wanted to post this photo because Betty mentioned her jungle. Well because of my leg and 24 days above 105 degrees, this is my jungle. My garden helper is coming Thursday and Friday to get it back under control. This is the front landscape.

Last photo is our storm yesterday taken from a plane landing just before airport was shut down...

Morning all,

Couldn't sleep, mind was working overtime
Spent part of the night in the craft room and out at 7:30am mixing cement
Noticed wheelbarrow in my yard, he must have dropped it off late last night or early morning
Should be able attach windows in the morning

Got to say I've never ever seen so many skitters

Linda is coming over around 9:00 and bringing timmies, Rita and Suzanne for 11am
Glad I made a double batch of sauce, we will have that for lunch..not sure I want to bring up the subject as to what if 'Suzanne can't go". Think I will leave that one as she might bring it up herself if not then we wait till the 17 th which gives us a week to decide if we pay extra or find a replacement...joyce??? If the 3 go then Suzanne would have to pay for the non refundable portion which is likely $250, I'd hate to do that though

Sharon, your gardens resemble those of Louisiana, the growth re humidity..don't know why but I didn't think you would have the weather for such gardens..I think of lindakay with the heat and says it's difficult to grow much in the soil..wow, that was some photo, bet those in the plane were a little worried.

Home .. whew .. air just came on .. temps in the low 80s

Not such good news for Dh at the eye docs .. his eye pressure is up .. has to go back in another month .. he is still on prednisone, so, that 'tight' be the cause .. and .. he can't really go OFF Prednisone because of his arthritis pain .. a real Catch 22

Lorna is texting me feverishly .. the big boss from down wast flew in last evening and was at the cemetery to greet the staff as they arrived .. Lorna is always 10 minutes early .. but, she says (Mason) the young fellow who took over after Dave's death .. is really getting raked over the coals ..he has had a HUGE mess to contend with following Dave's death as Dave was a 'pack rat' and, the office and the rooms therein were stuffed with, well, STUFF .. all has to be gone through as who knows if it's good stuff or not .. sooooooooooo Lorna has taken her leave and is out pruning the shrubs .. she'll be glad when he is gone ..

Betty .. I hope Suzanne feels up to fo going on the trip .. fingers crossed ..

Sharon .. we have had so much rain, our back in a jungle as well .. but, such pretty colours :-)

My back and leg is doing pretty good. I have a few moments where it hurts, but I sit on an ice pack, and it is better.

Qunite the to do "M" .. Who would think there is so much work looking after cemeteries..but when you think about it I'm sure lots od paperwork concerning who is where, the buying of grave sites AND everyone wanting the grave sites being well cared for..opening and closing of graves..wow, is a lot to look after..when you say boss, like person in charge of cemetery board?
I'm sure he can't find fault in what Lorna does nor should he for the young man that took over

She sees the heart specialist on the 16th, if he says ok that is one thing but we called numerous insurance co meanies and none will cover her re heart as it's not been a year, they will give her insurance for all else though..she will have to consider that and Lenny DH would have to agree to the chance she'd be taking...Sooo up in the air

Movers have left - and I'm tired.... but the bed is covered with clothes lol no clothes closet

Oh no Susan, place doesn't sound to inviting but then something is better than were you were..bet you are missing your trailer and bet Bob does as well but is too stubborn to admit it lol

Just lie down on the clothes and think of how you and Bob will commiserate with Ker when Mike messes him over. (Smirk.)

Got some housework done and some gardening. It's hot and humid but there's a little breeze in the garden so I was fine for a while. The adenium I got at Walmart several years ago made seeds this year! And I think one of the jackfruit seeds has already sprouted.

Got an email from the Supervisor's assistant but there's no progress. No surprise there. I may go back in August, combining the trip with other errands like medical tests.

I really need to call the IRS man who has helped me and see what he thinks of some of my ideas. It's just so hot here that my brain isn't functioning at its best. Maybe early in the morning.

Glad LK is going better. Sorry Gordon isn't.

Little girls came over, were at garage sale on the weekend and saw a little garden angel, thought of me, said they just had to buy it to pretty up my gardens

Came in to get camera but by the time I went back out sophis had gone in, too many skitters but Ava on the other hand found the pathway made of rhubarb leaves which lead through one of the gardens, wanted me to get the weed walker out and clean a pathway Sooo I will hand pick some tomorrow. Lol

So the posts are cemented and I'm anxious to set the windows on it, I'm excited as I'm sure it's going to be pretty, a nice addition..was almost tempted to do the windows tonight but I think I will wait till a.m as they say 24 hrs to cure..I screwed a 2x4 to secure the posts while drying

lol yes, the place is inviting - we got invited by Grace and Robert & that's the best kind of inviting.
They are really really really nice people. They'll be building a clothes closet for us. Thing is, this was never a suite, hence no kitchen, etc. It was a grocery store, in the basement of their home, that's why the triple stainless steel industrial sink instead of cupboards, etc.
As a matter of fact, they are putting a stackable washer & dryer in the suite for us. We just don't have room for a side by side, and they have a stackable pair (all one piece), and we'll put the ones we own into our mobile for Marcel & Carolyn. Marcel's our electrician, so I'm happy on 2 counts - we get to fit a compact washer/dryer in a compact space AND let friends use our washer & dryer. We'll sell the washer that's in the mobile now, and give Mike back his dryer LOL It's good all around.
Yeah, the place is crowded, but much better to have to downsize than to put up with Mike and his shenanigans.....
Bob's gone back to the house to meet with ADT - he came late - hour & a half late. Bob had already left by then. Bob needs to get more "stuff" so back he goes, to meet ADT tonight.
I'm sure as hell NOT going back to that house............
Well, back to straightening things around - this place is 50% smaller than the house, but it's safer & quieter....... and lovely landlords living above us.

yes we will, LK - Grace was apologizing for leaving a triple dresser on our patio - but I told her that makes me feel better, because we're leaving "extra" stuff out there too - wonder what the neighbours think of all this "stuff" we're both leaving out. Now we both understand that it's only a temporary thing, and we're making Kijiji our new best friend lol

Hope you are getting a good nights sleep Susan, you both will so look forward to the weekend when you can take it easy, rest without stress!

Karen how are things going with all the little ones? They've almost been there a week...bet they just adore you and knowing you they are all crafting lol

I will have to get photo's of the 2 little ones, am sure they will be back today, poor glass birds, they've been moved so many times. Lol. I will follow suit like Karen and get the girls doing something for their own garden, maybe a hypertufa project or stepping stone..maybe this weekend although their dad Jamie said they have a trailer on the lake about 1/2 hr away so likely why I don't see them much on weekends.

Morning everyone!

I am off to San Antonio for the last of the three injections. It will be a quick trip, there and back. I will be back later tonight.

Girls had been hanging over my shoulder while I sewed so yesterday we had sewing lesson #1. I gave them a bit of fabric and had them practice sewing a straight line (sort of) and getting used to the feel of the machine. Hovering all the while to be sure fingers were well out of the way. There was a cute tutorial by Crafty Gemini on making a nifty reversible headband. I did the cutting..not rotary slices for them as yet...and they did the sewing. They turned out well and I'm betting the girls will want to make more. Reversible is such a good idea with them, two different colors, and they are washable too.

Be safe lindakay, crazies on the road..you will be glad to have these injections behind you and feeling A ok

Karen, they are adorable, now while you are enjoying the gals what are the lads occupying their time with? The weeks will go so quickly but look at the memories they will have!

I had let the boys have a bit of electronic time as it was chilly outside. Usually they are all together swimming or fishing or at the playground we set up. Electronics is a treat we don't allow too often. TV, Ipads, etc.
Took a page from my DD on that one. She used to mandate "no electric allowed" play times.

When I have my grandkids. They get 30 minutes of the tablet to play on. The rest of the day is outside, or playing with toys inside.

Hubby took all 5 out fishing by himself...brave man. Brody was today's winner. Having lunch then he's taking them back down to swim. he's such a good Bumpa.

Do same even with the big boys and my boys re electronics, doesn't always work with Greg/Jeff though

sleeping in? not a chance - I'm living in a moving & construction zone. Have bathroom, microwave & fridge & stove, but no kitchen sink, counters, or much of my dishes...
Grace wants me to get busy and sell stuff that she & I aren't using. They've provided us with a stacking washer & dryer, which will be plumbed into our kitchen, but not there yet.
The kitchen countertop isn't on either
I need a functioning kitchen............ I need to unpack our dishes - found some, and some pots and pans - yeeeeee haw!!

From the sounds of it Susan it will take some time to have all the necessities..think they offered it as a rental a little prematurely..surely know the circumstances of both moves she ought not already want you to sell of stuff and clean up. Shishhh

I am home. I got here about 7. Traffic was terrible leaving San Antonio.
My appointment was at 1, I finally saw the Dr. at 4. He told me it will take a few weeks to feel the full affects of the shot. So we will see what happens.

Susan, I sure hope you get your home finished soon.
