Good morning everyone. Some relief from the heat as rain visited the grounds yesterday afternoon. Yay for a break from the deer flies and mosquitoes.
Not much going on here, just cutting fabric... hope.. hope..

Hello there Cookie. At this time of the year, your pond would be a welcoming respite. I bet your collection of Japanese maples are as tall as your house now.
For a long time I fear that you might not believe me that Kel has changed, for you've met him and he was showing so much love for me at BJ's. It means a lot to me that you believe me and yes.. he has become a spoiled brat. He hid himself well until Murdock died. Then it's all for him. '

Sis Kathy at least you are taking a break from your daily grind at home and yes, the humidity besides the triple digits. Perhaps one night, Michael can take you out to see NYC's night life.

Will keep you and Tom in my prayers Sue that this go around will be the charm. I cannot give any sage advice except for this.. keep both eyes opened!!

Pegi, I haven't use the cane since December. I forced myself to move without one, and only when the winds are bad, then I'll use it.
My church sister's grandson once remarked I don't look 60, but when I started walking, I walk like an 80 year old :D

LK, how are your roses doing in this heat? Black fungus has taken over one floribunda, and I had to trim that to the ground.

You all stay cool please.

lol Jaye - only room for one in the loony bin? We Canadians have the loonie coin, so I'm thinking we have enough loony bins for all of us.........
Ker doesn't appreciate good tenants - he's a slum landlord, to be sure.
Bob told him that we are disconnecting our power & letting him deal with the power & heat as of the beginning of the month. We aren't going to be responsible for 3 suites of utilities and have to chase the other tenants down. Rough cookies if this isn't to his liking.
I'm on the edge of getting a lease and ensuring that we stay here for the entire time until June and therefore cover us for any contingencies that Ker decides to throw at us, OR going without a lease and giving Ker one mo notice that we have to leave........with a 1 year lease, we have to give him more notice. I want to be covered against any of Ker's "changes", but don't want to be stuck with him. This place would be nice IF Mike were gone, we had storage, and I had a way to get to the back yard, AND the noisy street weren't so noisy. AND if Mike or anyone else weren't given the "right" to park on the front lawn.......
Ker is a Terrible landlord....

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, Michael isn't with me. This is MY vacation.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Sorry I missed your call, Sissy. I was planting flowers at Sherry's house in the rain. You should have seen us! What a muddy mess we were!!

The pond is clear but messy this year. I'm hoping it will cool down a little bit so we can get in there, drain it and restore some rocks that have dropped to the bottom.

We're expecting rain every day until next Saturday. Yuk!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Don't know if I mentioned it, but Bob & I are going camping tomorrow afternoon, and won't return until Sunday the 28th.
Really looking forward to it.

Morning everyone. I am back home, I got home about 4 yesterday, had dinner and crashed.

Jaye, My roses are doing pretty good, I have had a few leaves turn black, but I keep an eye on them, and cut off anything that looks bad.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

wow was it something L K said lol.

Another swelterimg daw at least 72 . At least we have a nice breeze right now.

Watching a funny movie all good main actors it is called The Mexican. Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Gene Hackman.

Bored out of my mind here still can't walk.

Dialysis is going ok much thanks to my wonderful Linda. She is a regular Clara Barton.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear your dialysis is gojng well.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

7Happy belated Father's Day, Ernie. I am sure you were celebrated grandly.
Thank you Linda for taking such good care of our brother here. We are so blessed to have him here.... wish though we can steal some of his tomatoes.

LK, Barb, Karen, Cookie, Thunder.. what did you all do for your hunks?
Poor Michael, on his own for Dad's Day! Sis Kathy, you'd celebrate that when you get home, I hope.

Pegi, yesterday must be bitter sweet for you. Hugs, sister.

Hello everyone, things aren't exactly what I would like them to be and Topaz, the Siamese has a relapse.
Been taking care of her round the clock and that truly tires me out, Will bring her back to the vet for a recheck. Kel will have to pay for the charges.

But, had a good day at church yesterday, and praise God, when the music leader, midway leading the congregation in a song, fell on his knees at the altar.. I managed to raise my voice and led the rest of the song. "Jesus Saves"
God gave me back my lungs for just that purpose.

Praying you all have a good week!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

What an awesome praise report Jaye!

It was nice and quiet here for Fathers day. Both of the boys called and wished him Happy Fathers day. He was tickled they called.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

All 4 kids either called or came by to see their dad. It was just the two of us for most of the day. I fixed him a breakfast burrito with farm fresh scrambled eggs, bacon, green peppers and cheese.

We had New York strip steaks with mushrooms and baked sweet potatoes for dinner and later a home made Pineapple Upside Down cake for dessert.

It was a pretty good eating day!!

Glad to hear church was good, Jaye. Sorry to hear the kitty isn't doing well.

Tim had the weekend with the kids. I didn't go out of my way for him..... LOL. Good thing i m not bitter. :P
I had a wonderful weekend with Tom. We had the " meeting of Jesus " talk. Deep emotions for both of us. Many tears shed. We do our morning devotions together. Wether we are together or on the phone. Lets hope the spirit stays in him. :) I m teaching him how to meditate. LOL. He does tend to get frisky ! when we do that together. He is pretty naughty that Tom.
I gave him a blanket that is personalized and says
Tom and Sue
Motely Crew 5
Savannah
Austin
Lucy
gave him a tear in his eye.
The rain kept us inside all day so we just made dinner and had some wine along with a movie.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

jaye sorry kitty is having problems you have enough problems with the big pussy (cat) lol it's hard to have an ailing buddy they can't tell you whats wrong.

Oldest son cam over for a visit the other two called. For fathers day we went to the casino I was down to my last 4 bucks and then hit a $151 dollar winner. then I played another machine and won $20 then I finished on another machine and won $20 more. After I deducted what I put in I had a nice $140 profit. Good thing because Linda lost $60 so I gave her $100 and said don't feel bad you bailed me out the last three times.

I don't remember if I told you but I got about 10 sungold cherry toms and I notice a orange Glacier. It wont be long and I will be knee deep in the luscious fruits.I am trying yellow brandy wine for the second time and it stinks won't grow it next year..

Went to get my arm ultrasound imaged and the guy started and said what and questioned me then left and came back about 20 minutes later and said you had this study done in the hospital March 2. Well I said well the first week of March was pretty much a lost week for me the silly Dr gave me codine and somehow it sliped past everyone that I am allergic to it. It was pretty ugly put me in a nursing home for 3 weeks. So back on with my clothes and met Linda in the parking lot. She came back early so I would not have to wait. SHEESH.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Finding out the hard way you are allergic to the meds is no fun!
Sounds like your tomatoes are doing good. Wish I was closer to come over and pick some!
Congrats on the casino winnings.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh, Ernie! Sung old cherry tomatoes are my favorite! They're just like popping candy!
This year I'm growing one by my back door with my herbs. That way I don't have to walk all the way to the garden to get them!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

LK You would have thought they would have paid attention to the papers I filled out. That codeine almost did me in. Because my kidney function is so poor they could not filter it through and out so it stayed in my system and built up.. I was talking funny and my face grimaced like I had a stroke well I am still here but last night I fell asleep on the couch and fell out on to the floor at 230 what an ordeal that was because my electric wheel chair was parked close to the couch . It took me a while to get back up. I had to reach up and turn the chair on and back it up. I have never fallen out of bed or off a couch before.

Joycet. Sungolds are good but there are others just as good. Black Cherry is one of them. If you can stand to eat tomatoes that are such a different color. The yellow one from Russia is a good one to. I to like walking by and reaching for a treat. I have them close to the side walk so they are easy to find lol.

good morning :)
busy day. lots of cleaning. don't know where to start .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I too am allergic to codien, and have had nurses tell me to take it after surgery. When I asked what it was they were giving me, I threw it across the floor and told them I am allergic to it. Then I told the Dr. when I saw him. You better believe heads rolled.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Makes me sick to my stomach but really works, knocks me on my butt.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good day everyone.
Ernie, I am glad you managed to pull yourself up. That must have been a bad dream.

No adverse reaction with codeine here, but doctors rarely prescribe that for me. Always Percocet.
Sometimes three Advils will work or 8 Ibuprofens.
I used to be addicted to prescribed Motrin when I was working, didn't realize that one of the adverse effects would be memory loss.
The one that I wished it's avaiable here is Lamaline. My sister had sent me some and that worked instantly. Think it has either opium or morphine in it.

Hugs and love to all my sisters and brother.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Codiene puts me to sleep so stay away from it. I've seen what morphine did to my DH so I'm really afraid of it. It is really hard on the elderly, so they tell me.

My son went in to the state doctor today, now we will see what happens. He said all they did was a breathing test on him. I guess if he can't breathe they will give him disability!! What about all his other problems. Just have to wait and see.

Another hot day and I always feel on fire. Should have a job in the freezer section of a store.

Prayers & love to all my sisters and brother Ernie.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope he gets on disability soon.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Just had to write a short note. I looked up lamaline and it is all in French. Firelox doesn't want me to download the translate tool so guess I'll not learn much. Did find the word opium on the site though.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

This is what I found for lamaline... I looked it up on webmd first, but it is not an american drug.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Some powerful stuff. Didn't think to look it up on web MD. Seems if that doesn't kill pain nothing will.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes Pegi.. LK.. only available overseas. One pill knocked me out with no side effect. It does has a 'green' taste. Must be the opiate dust.

Pegi, what's the verdict on your son. Hope he gets help.

A lazy day today, but CUTTING!!! Yeah.. blocks for the swap. I just cannot believe I had amassed so much fabrics that they can circle yard by yard around the house more than ten times!!
Being that I don't have to water the plants for the past two days, my skin is taking a break from bites.

Be lazy sisters and brother Ernie, if you can. I hear Cookie scoffing at this!!!
Even the Lord takes a break.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I finally gotbto see the no show Dr. And I gave him an earful for canceling the past 2 visits, after I got my injections. All he kept saying was I am so sorry.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You should demand a deep discount for pain and aggravation LK! Next time warn him that you might go postal!!!

Early warning: If you don't see me online that means he didn't pay his bills.
It finally got to him how severe the damage is when not only creditors are calling, but when I told him how I cried at the pet food aisle, having to choose between Lola's food and the cats' food, Lola will just have to share his already meager food.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe Jaye. Tell him he would have a very sore butt if I was closer.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Put on some Redwings LK!!! I know a few bffs and my sisters want to do that to him too.

Kelvin doesn't have a single righteous man friend here who's brave enough to tell him off. That's why he avoids church and God.
He alone now has to face his mistakes. Yet, he stubbornly thinks that he can do things his way, and hides his night time off 'work' from me. But God knows what he is doing and as long as he isn't fully repentant and keeps cussing GD, Kelvin will be lacking in the blessing dept. I had told him that.. he knows it too.
I am glad now that he's handling the books since he's doing an excellent job at it. Let the devil fry his brains.

As for me, I am okay.

I may not have the necessities later, but I still have my cell phone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

He needs to be careful, so he doesn't end up losing his job, or worse getting arrested for not making payments.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good morning sisters and brother Ernie.
Another hot scorching day today, not complaining as it could be in the triples. Ahhh... today I must water the plants. Dreamt of plants reviving after a baked period.. God's trying to tell me something ;D

Linda Kay, my dearest, dearest sister. This man has been leading a charmed life for a while till now. All my savings were used to help out through the years especially during the shop's lean period.
He had been banking on his mother to bail him out with the money she got from life ins,., but he didn't expect me to fight that hard and revealed to his mother his devious plans.
The only earthly thing he got is his golden tongue. He can finnagle his way out of pursuing creditors, making promises.. he won't declare bankruptcy for that would affect potential jobs like the post office. His credit score is truly pathetic.

I am not defending him, everyone. An asswipe is an asswope. Even though I love this asswipe.
I have two choices, leave or fix this. As I said, all my questions to Jesus showied me that I have to wait on Him.

It's a matter of time, slow maybe and quite painful... but I cannot give up on him, for I trust Jesus.

Thank you my sisters and brother. I felt your frustrations, and I thank you all for not giving up on me, and share in the faith that I will be okay.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy Birthday, Ernie our master gardener! I do hope I got the right day.

Walking my Mandy home from our short walk when this bull dog came running across the street and Mandy went into her growling and snapping mode. The dog seemed friendly, but I grabbed up Mandy. The dog seemed friendly, but I wasn't about to face a dog fright. The woman was out watering her lawn and yelled for her son to come and get the dog. I ended up carrying Mandy home, good thing she doesn't weigh too much. She definitely needs to get along with other dogs.

BTW restriction on watering is really into effect now. Even number addresses can water on Tuesday and Saturday and odd numbers on Wednesday & Sunday. Just have to see how this works out toward conserving water.

Jaye. my son is on another waiting game as far as disability is concerned. He said all the doctor did was give him a breathing test. Time will tell.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Jaye they are looking for a few good men in Afghanistan pay twice a months food and lodging supplied.

What good is your cell phone when the number is unlisted ? LOL.

cherries are vacuum packed and in the freezer .They made 5 packages. Will be good for smoothies.

Another hot day on the way

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Samigal thank you so much for thinking of me . It's a bit early though as my BD is Oct 26 lol.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

:-) better early than never!!

So frustrating to hear of your water shortage. We've had 4 1/2 inches in the last two days. Tomatoes are in trouble. Water in the basement and the pond overflowed. I so wish I could send you some of this!!
