If you are a paid subscriber to DG, and you are seeing ads in/around an article as of today (May 2) or beyond today, please take these four steps:
1. Go to your member preferences and confirm you have turned off all ads. If you change any of your ad settings, revisit the article to see if that changes what you see.
2. When you are viewing an article, look near the top right hand corner to see if the link says "login" or "logout".
3. Report here and include whether you were seeing "login" or "logout," along with the browser and device you're using to read the articles.
That's it - we don't need to know which article you were reading or what the ad is for :-).
Thanks!
For paid subscribers - as of May 2, do you see ads in articles?
Confirmed preferences ( nothing checked)
Log in was in the corner
Using a Nexus tablet. Chrome is browser ( I think)
Yes, I see ads.
It says "log in," which I guess means it logged me out because it says "log out" on the home page.
I'm using the old Toshiba laptop I usually use and running Chrome. I'll switch to IE and see if that makes a difference.
OK, using Internet Explorer, I stay logged in and the ads AREN'T THERE. Very interesting. I took Firefox off or I'd try with that too.
no ads
I use Firefox. No ads.
I saw them this morning on Melodys article, but clicked back on it tonight and they are gone, I am using my IPad
Kinda odd! I'm seeing no ads, but when I click the "Today's Article" link from my home page, I'm still being logged out (as mentioned by other users in the old problem thread.) I scrolled down all the way to the bottom of the article and saw no ads, but I did have the "Log In" link at the top.
I'm using Chrome, Win 8 laptop.

So without the ads, that stuff on the right isn't so crammed down at the bottom? Nice.
When I see ads with the article It is marked login.
Ads are turned off in preferences.
I used both Safari and Google Chrome.
Same here sempervirens. I had the ads turned off but they have reappeared.
I am still seeing ads and am logged out when I click on an article. I am using Firefox.
Thanks! If anyone else is seeing this phenomenon, please report it here. The techs are aware of this problem, but knowing how widespread and which browsers/devices seem to be most prone to it will help them.
As soon as they have implemented a fix, I will post here to see if the problem is persisting afterwards.
Google Chrome, Windows 8 laptop, logged me out when I clicked on the article.
Google Chrome, Windows Vista desktop, logged me out when I clicked on the article.
Firefox, Windows Vista desktop, logged me out when I clicked on the article.
Safari, iPhone, didn't log me out, but I still saw ads
I'm using the latest version of Chrome.
And Firefox is also displaying ads.
Samsung Galaxy tablet, Chrome browser. When l clicked on the article, it did log me out and it did show ads.
I found out why I'm not seeing ads. I am being logged out when I click the article link, but AdBlock for Chrome browser is blocking the ads. When I paused AdBlock, the ads appeared.
Yes, I am getting the tab that says log in, and yes, I am seeing adds.
I am as well. Tab says log in and I am seeing ads.
I'm not logged in when viewing articles. I don't see any adds, but then I remembered I'm running AddBlock, which seems to be working well. :-)
Yes, AdBlock works, but I'm not sure people who come to the sight will necessarily want to install it. I don't have AdBlock but never used to have ads showing on this site because I had them turned off in My Preferences. I still do BUT the ads are back.
I definitely didn't mean to suggest that DG leave adds turned on for subscribers. I probably should have worded my prior comment better. It was intended only as a somewhat tongue-in-cheek note that DG has now helped me to test and confirm that AddBlock works. It may seem obvious, but when you install something like AddBlock it becomes difficult to know if it is actually doing anything or if there really are no adds. Now I have confirmation.
Another thing I noted about the articles or, to be more precise, about how Today's Article appears on the Home page is that there is no title, just a portion of the 1st paragraph along with the author's name. The absence of a title makes it very difficult to even discern the subject. If this has already been reported or discussed, I apologize, as I am no longer certain if I have read all prior posts.
Edited to clarify and fix typo.

Yes, Articles definitely need a succinct title, IMHO.
Remember that all the Articles-related problems started with changes made on 4/1/2015 (from the April 1st thread):
We've had a few mishaps with articles since last Wednesday, and we're still working out the bugs.
One of them has to do with staying logged in - we are all experiencing this issue (which is also why you may see ads in that area - it doesn't recognize you as a subscriber with ads turned off.)
At that time, the articles link also disappeared from the Home Page. At least that got fixed! Hopefully the other problems will be worked out soon, as well.
Yes, and I'm sure they monitor this thread to see what people are saying now. That's important as well.
My page says Log In but I'm logged in and have no problem with that.
I still get no thumbnail or title of today articles, just part of the first paragraph. And I am still logged out and getting ads when I click on the article page.
We have two distinct issues ongoing with articles.
One is that some people are still reporting that they are not staying logged in when they visit the articles section. That results in seeing ads (unless you also run an adblocker.)
That's what I was looking for in the feedback here.
We are also aware that the way the articles are appearing on the homepage is "off" - that's a separate, known issue that we are working to correct, along with a few other small (but important) tweaks to what you see on the home page and the main articles page.
Thanks for the feedback - that will help us work through the logged-off/ads-appearing issue faster.
Sorry, Terry,
I will try to stay on topic.
No problem. I just wanted to acknowledge the "other" problem, too and let everyone know we're working on it as well :-).
So I am no longer able to stay login when using my iPhone, but can stay login on computer. Patti
Thanks, Patti - they are working on a fix.
great
I'm still seeing the ads, and it says "login" at the top of the page when I'm viewing the article... I don't have to log back in when I return to another area of DG, though (thankfully). So it sounds like I'm having the standard logout/login issue with the articles. I'm using Firefox on my PC (non-Apple) laptop.
Is there anybody who ISN'T having this issue? (apart from those running AdBlock or similar) I'm kinda hoping the problem is across the board so it will be an easier fix.
Haven't had and still not having the problem here on my computer using Firefox
nor on my IPad.

Jill, I am one of what I suspect is the majority of users who are still recognized as logged in and not seeing ads. I've tried it on Chrome and Safari, with and without adblockers.
I still have the problem. I use Chrome on my pc.
