Ian not a happy camper

The flood I'm sure last time was because of all the work guy did next door, changed water flow

I'm out in pouring rain digging a trench between me and the neighbor

He travelled his driveway, built it up a good 1/2 ft, water and melting is backing up, where, towards my basement

Just know I'm in trouble

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good heavens Betty .. call Greg to come help you, you are SO gonna be sorry you are digging outside in the rain !!!
You'll have folks watching for trouble ..maybe Rita can stay ? She'd hear the alarm.
Gosh, didn't the guy need a permit and inspection for that kind of work ?

The wind is about 40-45mph here, gusts to 50 .. dogs are very unhappy ..
Think I'll hit the pit

Night all

trying to be independent and yep, used muscles I haven't used in forever, likely ouch'ing tomorrow
Worth it though if I don't have flooding
Think I'm paranoid

Called mom, she was at my brothers yesterday, they put their lab pup in the bedroom, it was crying to come out, Bernie said no, mom said it wasn't right, it was the dogs home sooo out he came, she went to the washroom came out, dog jumped on her, she went flying, split her head open

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, you should not be ding that kind of work on your own. I know it needs to be done, but you need to call your son's for help!
Sorry to hear of your Mom, I pray it is not serious!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Well the wind is here to stay I guess ..
Wood stove is back to being lit .. get this, the dogs (and cat) will sit in front of the stove, and look at us when it's not going and they KNOW its cold out !!
Works every time LoL

Betty .. you leave tomorrow?
Hope you Mom is OK .. Labs tails are a danger zone ..

Laundry today as pretty much the whole city is shut down for Good Friday .. I might go to Mass, not sure of the times ..

I am enjoying a coffee, tote bag atthe door, anything else I need is in Florida waiting for me.
I leave at 8am, going to jeff's then he will drive me to airport
Printed out my boarding pass and with no luggage shouldn't be long going through line up
Supper in sunny Florida

Thinking with the ice weather how much clean up could get done here but Florida beaches are calling my name 🌅

Checked on furries, they seem content
Riley for sure, she found some of the quilt I just did and decided it's agreat
place to rest.

Sitting at WestJet terminal with a 1 1/2 hr wait, going for something to eat
Jeff bought me breakfastbutthat seems forever ago
Julie's daughter brought home one of the cutest rabbit, different breed, spotted and like a fuzz ball so Jeff was leaving here to go get supplies to make a cage, I'm so laughing, he designed the cage, will have upper floor, staircase, screened in windows, balcony etc
Shaking my head, hard to believe he has taken such an interest in carpentry.

Suzanne just emailed me the following.. has to do with Rick, roger's brother

"Got this message from Rick a short bit ago.
Hi Suzy, just to let you know in case you see on news, i got robbed at gunpoint in my booth at work. 2 black guys in ski masks. I'm ok, just shaken up. They got away with about $25,000 in cash and passes.

He just called me and he's okay. One had a gun in his face and the other in his back..keep feeling the gun at my back even now..I'm a bit shaky but ok

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my gosh. Glad to hear he is ok. What kind of booth did he have?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh my......... Betty - how scary!! I can well imagine that he still feels the gun in his back.......
I'm glad he's ok. My prayers are for him and the family

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Rick worked 30 yrs with Toronto Transit as a subway driver
Due to some vision loss they put him in a token booth
Seems most of $$$ was monthly passes stolen then cash from daily use

Wide awake

Soon be time to be up and at it and enjoy that Florida sunshine

Betty so sorry about Rick. So glad he is ok and no one got hurt or killed. Enjoy FL. and watch out for alligators :)
good morning
not much going on here. I m taking Savannah to a 4 H qualty assurance today. Not looking forward to it. Very boring. She may get her goat today at the auction but the problem lies on how to get the goat home LOL . no more truck ! ? . She says she will hold it in the back seat. ..... oh this should be fun.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WHOA .. Betty, never a dull moment for you !
I had thought perhaps you might have some bad weather as I saw a great huge 'green band' sliding across the southern States, and, I knew you would be flying through it ..
Glad you made it, totally understand the iPad thing, would have done the same as well.
SHYZA, poor Rick !! I can't imagine it .. many years ago before the stringent rules for ER, I was accosted by a fella, high on drugs, who had a knife .. I went cold, and, couldn't focus, back in that day, we had Orderlies, 2 in emerg .. Lou and Bob saved my bacon .. but, I'll never forget it ..
Old news .. I hope Rick is OK .. takes awhile ..
Enjoy the sand and sun and fun and R&R in Florida .. kiss a Chameleon :-) When we used to go south to visit my parents in Boca Raton, Murray would play with them all day long (much to my chagrin) LoL

Sue .. have a good day .. could use a massage today ..

Susan .. the 'click' 'could be' cartilage .. lotsa that around the ribs ..

LK .. how's the hip and back ?

Karen .. still on the upswing ?

Dianne .. hope you have some sun your way .. we sure do .. and, the wind seems to have taken a chill pill for today .. sheets on the line for sure today ..

Barb .. all OK there ?

Making an apple pie and doing laundry and basically sticking around HOME ..

TTFN

~M~

PS .. did go to Mass yesterday .. man, 90 minutes ..tossing around whether I'll go on Sunday ..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HAhahahaahah .. Sue, just read your post .. looks as though you're going to have an interesting day .. hope the goat is 'car trained', could get a bit messy if it gets worried.
Perhaps someone else has a truck ?

Good luck :-)

Morning everyone.

"M", my hip and back are about the same. Waiting for the 23rd, to see the Dr. again!

Loved that video Barb.

Oh goats in a vehicle is not good. I hope it is a quick trip home!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

What an amazing video .. have travelled to Traverse City twice, both times I found it to be a wonderful city .. love the lake areas ..

Well, went to make the dough for my pie crusts (I make 7 at a time) they freeze well, anyway ,, I had 3 cups of all purpose flour, and I needed 5 .. so, I used 2 cups of bread flour instead .. just took the pie out, never really have had a pie that was this ?blonde?
Looked it up, and, if anything the crust might be tough .. doesn't seem to be .. time will tell ..
Have a pic ..

Hope everyone is doing well .. it's snowing on the bed linens right now, but, the sun is right behind it :-)

That pis looks yummy! What kind is it?

I got some jelly rolls strips in the mail yesterday, and I think I will make a binding tool star quilt with it. I just need to figure out the back ground color, and I need to get a binding tool.

Evening,
Had a lovely day
Went to flea market, of course I bought 5 outfits, did I not sayi had enough clothes??

Then we dropped into hobby lobby..bought the soldering iron I wanted with the built in thermostat for beading on my stained glass pieces nd a large jar of crystals that I will make more neck coolants

Then into joanns, yep more fabric..I want to do do a pinwheel basket quilt so bought what I need, some easter fabric for Rita , black tor trees/rocks and Adirondack chair (another of those scene throws) and some wool for another 2 neck warmers.

By the time I got home I could barely move so it will be a quiet night

Tomorrow a bunch of us, few other couples from home who also have a place here are going out for supper, might take a run to the beach for a few hours

Got a few emails from home, no flood so far

Pie looks yummy, you are creative in the kitchen. Lol

When I was on the farm we had about 20 goats, hubby bought an old bug that we called the goat mobile for when he had to bring one to vets or a show..how did your day go sue

Can we have ice cream to go with the pie "M"?

LindaKay, you will enjoy doing the binding quilt, hmmm not sure what color to use, something that will pop out those beautiful fabrics..Missouri quilt has the tutorial and the tool, I bought one and then made a few, would you like me to send you one or are you wanting it 'right now'

Going back to Rick amd my life..if you all didn't know me better I'm sure you would think I was a fibbing about all these happenings

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No hurry, I still need to find the background fabric. If you have an extra tool, that would be awesome. Thanks so much!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I have the binding tool LK. This is the table runner I made with it.....Used a dark green for the binding...

Linda, the binding tool is simply the width of a Jelly Roll strip....2 1/2 inches with one end cut at a 45 degree angle.

The video was made just before we moved up here to live. The park after going through the tunnel used to be our zoo. Really miss it , was a sweet little zoo with all native animals but you could get close to them. The building was a museum and is now a theater. just up the stairs is now a big splash pad area. and our wonderful sugar sand beach area. The zoo had to go so they could build a big marina there...more income don't you know. We do have a nice and viable downtown, some of the stores have been there since I was a little kid. Many now are geared to the tourists. We have the National Cherry festival followed by the film festival. Brings an extra million people to town.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Loved the video

Will send you the binding tool next week
Heading to buffalo so not a problem

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - thanks for the thought about the cartilage! That sets my mind at ease, more

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Same to you Betty ..

It is sunshine, but, bitterly cold .. no doubt it'll warm up as the day goes by ..
