Looks like she will be with us for another year! Thanks Jean!
Mary, I am so glad you are healing well.
She's about to...Spring has sprung!
That is why I joined this fine group of people. I have never known a more giving bunch of individuals. You all are the BEST!
I know, right? I love this room.. (((((((HUG)))))) well, if u can believe this, the red honey suckle and the yellow john clayton are both blooming.. wow.. I saw some buds on the roses too. It really is Spring. ;D
Annette , what is that beautiful flower that is your avatar?
Aw so sweet! Marti glad you are heeling well. All is good here weather wise. So excited. We got some nice soft rain yesterday. We did need it. Have some spring flowers open. Crocuses are almost done. Such a beautiful shade of purple and some varigated ones. My lenton roses are so very beautiful now. I even have a new clump that blossomed. They take so long for them to actually blossom but well worth it.
My avatar is my Japanese Iris called 'Crystal Halo' and it is stunning when in bloom. That is my actual plant pic taken last year. Would you like a division of it, if it has recovered from last years Iris trade, that is. I sent a large clump of it to Mitsy, because someone stole hers. And she sent some of it to the Western Ky Botanical Garden, she made a large donation from her Irises to them . How cool is that? One of my Irises will be on display at the Botanical Gardens . :)
What kind of people steal plants from your garden?????
How cool is that, to have some of your pants in the garden.
Nanny that is an honor you should be proud of that. I have never been to an iris show. Would love to go to meijer garden when they have it sometime. I just ordered two iris from jallsons this morning. Superstitionand mexican holiday. Looking forward to them. I hope they do okay. Iris i just have an awful time with for some reson. But these are so beautiful.
Nice to see you have things blooming Kathy! How are you feeling?
i'm feeling better thank you. sore from the gym. I go 5 days a week and one of those days my trainer is with me. that will be tomorrow, and he will work me like a dog. I certainly get my money's worth
Love the blooms Kathy. It's great to hear you are feeling better.
How awesome, to have a plant in a botanical GARDEN. tHANKS aNNETTE, i WILL HAVE TO PASS ON THE iRIS, yOU NEED TO GET YOUR CLUMP GROWING REALLY GOOD.
dang caps lock.. anyway...
Kathy, how cool is that with your little beebs the peaCHES! HOW CUTE!
Did you know that my second real job ever was being a work out trainer at Nautilus Fitness Centers of America?? LOL
I used to work the men out on the machines until they were asking for quit time, and my women clients loved my classes. Boy, was that ever a looong time ago.. what I don't miss is, the 6 days a week from 9 to 9 hours.
Funny Story about the Iris. I did the Iris trade last year with Mitsy and she had already committed to donate her Irises to the Western Ky Botanical Gardens , but someone dug up some her Irises right out of her garden. One of the ones they took was "Crystal Halo"
I had this noid Japanese Iris, that had part of the tag missing(the part with the name of course) I searched all my records trying to find the name of that thing. No luck.
When I went to dig it up, I was dividing it and lo and behold the missing part of the label was buried down in the clump. It turned out to be "Crystal Halo" I had no idea what the name of it was because I bought 14 years ago. Mitsy even still had the engraved marker for it. Go figure! What are the chances of a thing like that happening? The fact that I had the very one that she still had the marker for. That blew my mind. lol Strange things happen in the garden.
boy that is a great story. I just knocked over a whole shelf of seedlings, dirt plants and all. ugh. now I have cleaned it up, repotted everything, and ended up cleaning the whole garden rooms downstairs. Moved more plants out to the front ( faces East, ) and supposedly we are to get rain in the next few days.
Love your cake.
Debra, sorry to hear your dropped your tray of seeds.
Hey,I am one of those crazies, lol. I did get mine done in time, did it myself online. I did see several people at the tax booth at Wal-Mart on the 15th. I won't start ranting about the health care issue, let's just say that I am not a fan of Obama, at the moment, and leave it at that.
Happy Happy Birthday Mary!
Thanks all!! I'm enjoying my day.
Happy Birthday Marti! Hope you are having a marvelous day!
Happy Birthday, Marti!
Happy day after your birthday, Marti. hugs, katie
Happy Birthday Marti, late but glad to hear you had a great day.
Taters has your drought situation improved any yet? This spring we are finally having some moisture.
Oh Debra dropping the seedlings sounds like something that would happen to me. Loved your pictures of AuntB and KayJones. I wanna meet up with you all asap. I go to Indep. alot since that is where I am from and have so much family and friends there.
I worked outside all day on Friday and I mean all day. DH was a Sweetie, he doesn't garden at all. His idea of gardening is if it is green MOW IT.....lol In my small water garden I put those water iris as a natural filter in the top of the waterfall. Worked great for years until they got so thick there wasn't any room for the water! Bless his heart, he spent over an hour chopping and digging those things out of the top of waterfall until he got them all out of there. Don't know what I would of done without him.
Saturday I was so sore...lol but worked out great, it was rainy and wet. I met a friend for breakfast, went to a genealogy Germany study group, then went to another friends house, and stopped to see my sister. Great day for doing all that.
There were 44 people there and 2 instructors from German speaking countries, and two people who spoke German. They are going to email me a power point presentation about immigration that they had already studied. Independence MO has an amazing genealogy library. I am very lucky to live so close.
Later everyone!
Linda Kay that is beautiful. Glad to here you are having a better spring. I just have tulips in bloom now. Daffs are pretty much done. Grass is tall and already mowed once. Not suppose to be real warm today. High 60's and windy. Probably stay inside and work.
I need to get alot more done...lol Got my car cleaned up yesterday. I hate doing that. All those tiny spots are almost impossible to get into.
Man i am so jealous about all the flowers blooming. Mine are just starting to emerg. Well thats okay. We are having some rain this week so they will be coming up lots now.
Mine are just budding. My peonies are all in bud and I'm just so excited for them to open.
I'm enjoying spring while I'm in TN, sure going to hate going back to winter next week. The greats here keep telling Gpa he needs to leave me here for a few weeks.
